The Bulldog in South Gloucestershire

I came because of the English Bulldog signage. Unfortunately what I saw were old photos. No more any bulldog image left. Just enjoyed my pint of Guiness & immersed with the scene of gents happily loudly having their pints while playing snooker. Place needs refurbishing to be honest. But the friendly pub owner makes up for it. Great drinks in below average prices.

No good, some pool/snooker tables for coins to play. The beer was good. Low level atmosphere of locals. A happy enough place

Since I last sent a Review in, they've now Got a New Jukebox 🎵🎶📀💿 which is a Very Good one 👍 😀 👌. A Homely Pub, got good Bar Staff and a Lovely Young Couple 💑 to Run it, Aaron and Donna. Would Recommend this Place to anyone else who might be interested in going there for a Drink 🍺🍻 or two 🤔. XXX

A quality establishment and a homage to authentic original pubs. With a large indoor seating space, pool table and bar, it gives the feeling of a local watering hole for the community as every good pub should. Reasonable prices and friendly atmosphere, what more could you ask for.

The best pub in Bristol hands down. Some of the best people you will ever meet and some seriously welcoming vibes to all cultures around the world. If you want to eat amazing food and be surrounded by positive people and positive vibes, the bulldog filton is what it's all about, a very cultural hub of Bristol with some of the best music and sound you will experiance. They should charge 20 quid on the door just to get in, it's really a wonderful place. I plan to spend most my Friday and Sat nights here for the next 34 years or so

I’ve only been here once but I live very local so I walk past all the time. Every single time i walk past I get shouted at by whoever is sat out the front, it seems like i can’t even go about my day without drunk old men screaming abuse at me. Sort it out please.

Took the dog for a walk, stopped for a pint. Good beer and a welcome atmosphere.

It was really good when me and my mates when there for a drink last weekend but we did not have a lot of fun there has one of mates got kicked out becuase he got caught vape and they and to call the police on all of us but we all left in the end becuase we did not what any trouble so I am just say to anyone else that goes there be careful

Definitely a bit of a locals boozer and it did feel a bit intimidating as someone who doesn't frequent the establishment. But it's definitely not as bad as the reputation and the comments on here make out. The prices were pretty decent compared to most Bristol pubs. The music was eclectic albeit a bit loud for 4pm on a Thursday. But overall can't fault it for a quick pint.

Friendly place . Atmosphere was good a big improvement on the past. I would gladly visit again. Manager and managerss were lovely. Thanks for a good evening.

Great for Wednesday evening snooker tournaments

The pub has always had a bad reputation and never wanted to come here but today I thought I would give it a go and I must say everyone made me feel welcome staff and the new management Aaron and Donna!! Would highly recommend giving it a go. Will definitely come back!! Thanks all

Sadly this pub has a bit of a reputation. I only went for a few drinks after work and didn't try the food. They do a lovely pint of Gold at a reasonable price.

Best hair cut shop to refer in Bristol

Roughest pub I've been to for 25 years. Everything is falling apart. Disgraceful toilets. No decent real ale so had a Guinness instead. Never sgain

Great taste nice burger but to pricey for this area id be happy to pay £6.50 for a bacon double cheese burger but not £9.50 but good service.GOODLUCK .

Clare is the best bar maid /manager she runs the pub really well and gets on with everyone a lovely girl.

Easy venue to get to by bus and we went to a good private party booked there.

Alex. How can you write a review like that it dosnt make sense... You are saying that if you are not "a local" you are not welcome but then you say you had fun in there.... but your not one of the locals so how can this be? Surely you would of left this place to find a nicer one????? I would think on your reviews as this can effect buisnesses The owners have turned it around in the last 2 years and last week alone over 40 new faces were in and commented how lovely relaxed and FRIENDLY everyone was. Yes of course you prob would of got a little idiot but in every pub you get them not just here. Also 2 yrs ago the place had 47 broke windows and now theres not. I know the landlady very well and she is very strict on them all i can assure you. Go and speak to her and she will check her cameras to validate your statement.

Not a nice atmosphere. I second many of the descriptions, quite accurate. Anyone who is not a local would not feel welcome. I give it two stars because I actually had fun in that surreal experience. Would not repeat though 😄

This place has improved so much, Live music every weekend which is nice to have in the area , and owners are nice.

Rough pub, not family friendly, stared at like you dont belong there. Felt like i was in one of those movies where a fight could break out any second.

A good old fashioned local pub.

Don't expect a nice, relaxing beer in this joint. When I went in, the place was full of moronic, low-brow, ape-like white trash types. That is, the clientele were very unfriendly people casting menacing scowls in the direction of any outsiders ( namely, myself and some other African dude who also mistakenly wandered in). Not a welcoming atmosphere with these bozos around.

Not great, only people local to the surrounding area go in. Not friendly to outsiders...

Awful, went with a few friends for a quiet drink had one pint and left, due to feeling so uncomfortabe and got slow clapped out of the building for no apparent reason as we left.
