Have been here a few times and never had a bad experience.

Would like to know where they got the photos from on the website as the food had no resemblence whatsoever. Food was overcooked to the point of being burnt on some dishes. Chicken bites on a bed of lettuce = chicken bites on a few bits of wilted shredded lettuce. Shut the kitchen without notice before any desserts could be ordered.

Group of four. We had an evening meal on one night and lunch the next. Food was very nice and prices were very reasonable. Nice waitress and very helpful. Good choice of meals. Following day had a smaller plate lunch for seniors. Still great service and good food.

Don't like writing this...us girls are regular visitors to the bull where the food has been amazing..dontbknow what went wrong today but it was awful..2 meals sent back as really burnt..a burger you needed a steak knife to cut..overcooked fish in batter..absolutely awful..staff not bothered when we complained..no offer of a reduction in the bill..its a shame as we eat there at least twice a month..but no more terrible food and terrible service ..we will not be back.

Excellent Sunday Roast on a busy father's day. Meat was tender and the Yorkshire puds were large and tasty. Best cauliflower cheese we have had.

Can't comment on the food as didn't eat here. However went in for a couple of beers. First pint came and smelt heavily of egg. Didn't even touch pint took it straight back and was told it was pored from wrong side of the bar from pumps that aren't used. They redid the drink and again it smelt like rotten eggs (although not as much). Didn't want to feel unwell so i just left the pint. My friend was on Guinness and he said one of the worst he ever had. Won't be returning. 2 stars because service was good but i would recommend making sure line cleaner not left in pipes.

Food was enjoyable, staff helpful & friendly, re decorated & is a pleasant surroundings. Whats not to like. 😊👍New chef! Sunday roast is a must.

Weren't very happy with the chips I had very disappointing 😕 and the burger wasn't that good either it puts me going back used to be a nice pub.

A decent Sunday lunchtime meal, though the choice of seasonal veg was a little on the weird side? Nonetheless, still enjoyed it.

Had the sunday roast beef was like boot lether colifowar cheese was just sauce Yorkshire pudding was rock hard do i have to say anything else we complained .

Lovely pub building wise, nice range of drinks, but I found the food is hit or miss, had few bad meals only gave it another go to see and same as last guess need good chef.

Go for the fortnightly quiz on a Tuesday. Always have supper there. Lovely people.

My husband and I tried the senior special. He thoroughly enjoyed his cottage pie. I enjoyed the macaroni cheese, however it was less than I would give to a child, so felt a bit cheated.i know they are smaller dishes But how much smaller can you get? So please just more than a few mouthfuls, it's not an expensive dish. We will be back though. Please can you also stock green tea.

Food was lovely & the service was amazing, apart from when I went up to the bar to pay the bill at the end, we had complete table service!! Would highly recommend paying The Bull' a visit for a meal, all food is 100% homecooked, from scratch with the best local ingredients!! Also great value for money too!!

What a surprise, a small pub tucked away on the side street. The food is great and so reasonably priced, great value for money. Good choice of ales. Staff are very helpful and really friendly. Would recommend this pub to anyone. What a little gem.

I love The Bull. We are local to the area and regularly eat and drink here. The food is lovely pub grub and incredible value, everything I’ve had is great. The burgers are awesome. Friendly atmosphere and a proper pub feel. If you’re in town highly recommend.

I totally missed jugged the Bull, we couldn't manage all but what we had was so much better than the king's head absolutely superb and service was good too we'll be back regularly, Tim and Babs

Credit, where credit is due! Just had a meal here with my partner, the food was absolutely gorgeous, the home made pie was to die for! Definitely worth paying for! Cheap and cheerful, also.. the music list is banging! Thank you so much! Will definitely be back 🙌🏻

I like it here, it has a welcoming proper Pub feel as soon you walk in the door. The drinks are not over priced and the staff are friendly. Food here has never been disappointing and is a good standard for pub grub. They often have a quiz night which is good fun. There is some car parking at the rear and a small courtyard beer garden. I'm adding this foot note several months after writing the above review, the staff are pleasant enough but recently we have avoided going in here or staying very long as some of the staff or someone has a tendency to take over the jukebox and constantly play rap music with not very pleasant lyrics, vulgar in fact. So not wanting to get involved in a battle for something kinder on the ears we walk up to the george hotel where the punters are a bit more mature and the 80s 90s old school hits played are more palatable.

We stopped here for a meal before going on the Polar Express. It's clear many Polar Express adventurers stop there to eat as the table next to us had a group of adults and children in their PJs. We got changed in to ours after eating. The pub is clearly popular with locals and had a lot if them in the bars and outside. There are lots of dining tables and the pub is cosy and winter warm. The food and menu are standard "Soup in a basket" pub fayre but the portions are a good size, the food is of a good quality and the prices are fair. The service was top notch and the waitresses were patient as the kids did the usual 15 choice changes and responded to all our requests e.g. extra gravy for the kids and slight change of what the meal came with. My most minor of issues and hence the only reason for the 4 out of 5 was that we were given a Fruit Shoot which we asked about and were told it came with a kids' meal despite the fact that we had ordered specific drinks for the kids. When the bill came they'd added the Fruit Shoot to the bill at £1.50. When I questioned this and said I'd been told it came with the meal, the waitress said that it came with the meal if we didnt have the ice cream, well guess what, we didn't have the ice creams. That said they did remove it from the bill and all was good.

Welcoming and friendly family environment. I had my birthday meal with my father this evening. Our host Lisa was attentive and polite helpful and efficient. Cracking meal prepared by a young chef who popped out to my table to say hello. Needless to say a great atmosphere and humble. Highly recommended!! Take out time and everyone must visit and take time to reflect with a good meal & drink... Thank you kindly to all the team and i shall be back next week.

Friendly pub, nice food and excellent service.

Having ordered mac and cheese and asking to swap out the garlic bread for plain naan because of allergy, we were given a garlic and coriander naan! When we complained, the young male in charge was argumentative saying they only ever serve garlic and coriander naans. My partner has eaten the same meal in this pubmany times with no issues. He was rude and accused my partner of throwing plates at him. When challenged he said she slid them towards him which is 3 quarters towards throwing them. He accused her of throwing wine all over the table which is absolutely not true. When he said he would only refund what we hadn't consumed she moved our drinks glasses towards him. He had absolutely no knowledge about food allergens and didn't see why he should, even though he is the one delivering food to customers.

The steak was perfectly cooked, well presented, and young lady who served the food was very pleasant! Compliments to the chef! thank you!

Pictures no longer reflect the fish and chips that is on offer. Was quite disappointed with what is on offer now, just breaded packet fillet.

I enjoyed my visit, food was surprisingly good for such an unassuming place. Nice friendly staff. Recommended.

Visited the nearby escape rooms and got hungry. We came here and had lasange and a mixed grill with a side of fries and bbq wings. The steak was cooked to medium very accurately which was a nice surprise as we've visited some much pricier places previously, even steakhouses who have got it so wrong and overcooked it. The lasagne was also surprisingly tasty and presented well with a little side salad and parsley garnish. The wings were not very good unfortunately but the fries were great. Overall, the prices are very reasonable and the food is good for what you do pay. There is a nice, good sized outside area and the pub itself is pretty spacious. The fizzy drinks were kind of flat but all in all I still give 4*. The staff seemed nice and were all very busy. Dereham was a nice little place to visit.

Visited the Bull a while back and there were some positives to the trip. The pub itself is quite surprisingly spacious and the service was friendly. However, when it came to options for food, for someone with dietary restrictions it was a little bit limited. Though there was a separate section for vegetarian/vegan it was quite to my personal taste. However I fully appreciate this is personal taste and it could be perfect for you! I'd say check out the menu if you can find it online first and if you like the sound of the options, give it a go.

Good pub, food looks good, but need more staff as when we called in had one chap having to do everything taken orders, serve drinks and rushed off his feet.

All the food was very dry, the nachos come out rock solid where the cheese had been clearly burnt. The food was clearly rushed as there was a big table in. It was awful. Visited today!

the food was not so good was told most of it was out sourced and frozen. lemon tart was frozen when served. the staff had no clue on the food when asked was it freshly made. lamb on the roast was not edable lots of fat. apple pie you could tell it was frozen. will not be visiting again shame pub itself looks nice

Centrally located. Advertising out side with bill boards for vegan options. Went there on Wednesday with almost empty. Vegan choices on main meal, they didn't have the Lentil bake so ordered Thai curry with chips. Tasted no where near Thai curry! The staff who served me was very polite and helpful, but other staff were loitering behind the desk and unresponsive even on eye contact. The place could do with staff training! Place was clean with good atmosphere.

Visit this place regularly - need more staff to assist in busy periods. Not happy with kitchen shutting at 20:30pm on a busy Saturday night peak period but figure this is due to short staffing,hopefully this will get sorted really soon as this is a fantastic venue.

Popped in for lunch and had the best hunters chicken I've had in years. Friendly staff and very clean.

Went here with a couple of friends for a nice meal and well was really annoying to be honest the wait time was nearly an hour for food when the pub wasn’t what would be classed as busy and when taking our drinks orders nothing was written down and they would have to keep coming back did you say this no we said this if you can’t remember it please write it down 🤷🏻‍♂️

Can not fault this place. Both inside and outside looked very welcoming. Excellent friendly staff. Nothing appeared to be to much trouble. We both had drinks and Lasagne. If ever we visit Dereham again I will make the Bull my first choice.
