Beautiful hidden gem of a boozer, slightly in the back streets of Addiscombe & a very short walk from East Croydon station. Good selection of beers & spirits. Friendly people and staff make this a great place to spend some time. Large garden out the back is beautiful in summer. Interesting events regularly appeal to most pub goers and create a warm family environment. Would heartily recommend!

This was our first visit. We'd booked a table to try their Sunday roast. The interior of the pub was surprisingly spacious, nicely decorated and had a large outdoor space at the rear. When we arrived we were told the beef was finished & there was only one portion of chicken left. When our food arrived it was not hot & was sent back. Both plates were drowning in almost black, thick, gloopy gravy. This was so salty I was unable to eat more than a few mouthfuls and my husband left much of his uneaten. We both ordered apple crumble & custard for pudding which was very nice.

It's one of the better pubs around. Friendly staff, clientele, and a variety of alcoholic and non- alcoholic drinks. The food is pretty good, too.

Great pub that we go to for the pub quiz on a Tuesday evening (starts at 9). Dog friendly and good choice of food and drinks. Toilets are all ground floor and they have a good sized beer garden- would recommend!

We went for the drag night which started about 9pm and was really quite good. However, what ruined the whole night was that there were two (approx) ten year old children in full view of the adult entertainment! The foul language alone was totally inappropriate for them and we were astonished the management allowed them to stay until closing time !

Place was empty when we arrived at 3pm for a Sunday roast. The barman informed us that the roasts had run out. Advertised as roasts till 6pm. Decided to have one drink and sit in the garden whilst we planned alternative dining options. The garden was a dirty mess, walking on a carpet of cigarette ends and general litter. Never again going to this pub.

The place is a joke. Sunday roasts run out by 3pm. It isn't a Fullers Pub anymore but the charlatan new operator doesn't mind you still thinking you are dealing with a Fullers pub. The collapse of a once decent clean friendly pub is accelerating. The current operator does not have a single clue or skill set to run a pub.

Great pub but prices are insane. 12 quid for a Guinness and a pint of Peroni. What has the world come to! The food was amazing though. We had a variety of items as It was a friend's 50th.

I don't want to give bad reviews but I just sat down in the carpark behind the beer garden and listened to the locals........

Great pub atmosphere, good staff

As a monthly regular over 12 years, I have seen this pub ebb and flow. Whilst no longer a Fullers pub, it still retains a significant choice of Fullers' beers. Currently, the present managers have improved the standard and service. I have never eaten in here so cannot comment on the food but looking at the servings of others around, it appears the portions are generous and look appetising. In the warmer evenings, there is a pleasant, secluded garden well furnished with tables and chairs.

This wasn't the first time of frequenting the Builders Arms, just thought I should give it some recommendation. Simon and the bar staff very polite, helpful & curtious. It has always had a relaxed atmosphere. Will make it my go to pub in and around Croydon. Fullers beers on tap with Pizzas that are very moreish. Keep up the good work Simon and the team. Simon has now left this establishment and it is now being run in the same efficient way, staff friendly and amicable.

Very wonderful for kids and dogs friendly pub, there's water stands and snacks for the dogs and humans tatto chips and pork scratchers very tasty,

Great pub. Hired a space for my partners 50th. Cathy the landlady very helpful and accommodating. Had buffet food which was great too. Pub nicely decorated and also has a lovely well kept garden. Nice place to go for drinks and food.

the men's toiltes are literally an open sewer of urine. the leak from the urinals is constant, there is no way of not standing in the urine. people wash their hands after using the facility but what is the point if every male in the pub is simply walking urine around the whole place. it a fullers pub and therefore the owners are hardly short of a bob or two. the chef will use the toilet then walk that urine back into the kitchen. bar staff will be moping up the urine in the mens toilet one moment, then serving food and drink the next. it is a problem the pub has had for a very long time now. the pub needs to be closed down until the toilets get the investment needed to eradicate this most unsavoury of problems. the builders arms ? no, in its present state, its the builders urine soaked feet. sort it out. enough is enough. ..................... ==== then we got the PR response. darling, its not last week, its been the same for years. i live in an old building, im not walking around in urine in my house. my budget is a lot less than Fullers. if the toilets in my house were a sea of urine, i wouldnt have any guests around until the problem had been dealt with. enough is enough,Fullers need to step up and sort it out or otherwise buttons will be pressed to force the relevant local authorities to step in and provide some motivation.

Cracking pint of Pride… unlike many fullers pubs this is served at the correct temperature. (And as I type still under £5 a pint)

The staff are friendly and on the ball. I've been going here for over 20 years and it's one of the very few pubs than can keep and serve real ale properly every visit. This pub has the formula !

Love the selection of Fullers ales, plus the popular lagers on tap. Good food, friendly, attentive staff service. The local regulars are are friendly and welcoming. It's a peaceful atmosphere during the week, LIVE football and LIVE music occasionally too. 💚🎸🎶 Bonus of a nice beer garden, with heaters for smokers.

Lovely traditional pub The food was average wouldn’t say it was worth £16-£17 for a roast dinner they didn’t have a children's menu which I personally think you should think about as what parent wants to pay £14-£17 per meal for a child especially if you have more then one child service was a little longer and slower this afternoon but I take into consideration it was a Sunday lunch time and was busy staff was lovely can’t complain about that but do think you should take into Consideration the prices of your meals as was charged £5 for 3 scoops of ice cream for a child

Great beer range with good atmosphere

This is such a lovely pub with very friendly and warm staff. They were so kind during my sisters leaving party and very accommodating. I would definitely recommend!

The food is basic due to a small kitchen I guess but it was hot on arrival and tasted fine. The service would have got a 5 had there not been confusion with whether coffee was available. It is a lovely pub, the staff are friendly and helpful. The pub was clean and despite looking small on the outside it was spacious inside with a large beer garden where kids can play and many tables for eating.

Strange place. Looks nice, clean, shows football. Some staff were good, others were clueless. Roast inner was poor, especially for price of £17!!! Chicken was dry and seemed like was cooked last week. Beef was nice but needed steak knife to cut as was medium rare. Staff stated they had no steak knives. Potatoes and veg were minimal and had to ask for more... which we got charged for??. Happy to give it another chance but won't head there as a destination pub.

We went today for my birthday Lunch it was wonderful &presented beautifully the Food Wes Perfect we thoroughly enjoyed it It has Recently opened under New management Katherine is the Landlady she is a really lovely young Lady and her Staff make customers feel welcome I hope all the customers come back and give it a try They will be well pleased

It's my local. Great little pub in the summer as it's got a beer garden and perfect for the winter as it has a cosy feel and a fireplace. They now only do pizza as a food option. I love their pizza

The good bit....Great little pub, good atmosphere, went for the music quiz which was fun, unfortunately let down by staff at the bar. Ordered a coke, was flat, asked for it to be changed, still flat, was offered another soft drink, asked for lemonade as long as it wasn't flat. Served me a flat lemonade! Obviously the gas was empty. Watched staff continue to serve same gasless soft drinks in mixers. All could have been avoided if they just changed the gas!!! Very disappointed, definately not customer focused tonight, which is a shame, as has such good reviews

Really nice pub. Like a tardis. It goes back a long way. Good size beer garden. Good selection of beers, it's a Fullers pub. Football was on several screens. Music quiz was going on. None of this affected the other. Toilets clean. Good pizzas. Staff really friendly and attentive. Mixed clientele. Thoroughly recommend this gem of a pub.

Nice place, friendly and helpful staff, good selection of beers and ales, plus lovely pizzas available. Classic local pub, big flat screen TVs everywhere, several pleasant seating areas, and a real fire in the winter months. Lots of early week offers available - pizza and pint of beer that saves you £4 - £5. Pub quiz and they've resumed some live music. Nice and large beer garde, covered side seating and also seats out front. Recommended.

Popped in on Sunday for lunch with my wife. Pizzas were fantastic, great selection of beers and staff were inviting. Cosy pub with a fireplace and beer garden. I live 5 minutes away, and Builders Arms is our local pub.

I have met the owner of the pub who is an absolute gentleman and who's business contributes to the local Croydon economy. Lovely pub with great pizzas, live sport on TV and pets allowed!

I stopped for a drink with my daughter and girlfriend on Monday evening. What a gem of a place. Warmly welcomed by staff and a couple of regulars. Tidy, clean, cosy place with a good choice of various beers and spirits. Traditional pub games in one side of bar, comfortable seating with tables etc on the other. Staff were helpful, friendly. and accommodating. Local pubs are not often as tidy, comfortable, and pleasant as this nice place. We will definitely return, so I recommend a visit. Cheers!

Been visiting here since 1993 and seen many changes but the one thing that's constant is the London Pride 😋 And there're rarely been bad staff or users there. A firm favourite local of mine

Booked a table, which was reserved for us. Bar staff welcoming and showed us to our table. Had drinks, even tried the cocktails, which we found perfect! Lovely home cooked pizzas too. Thanks

Friendly service and staff members, delicious pizzas (both meaty and veggie options), great music and atmosphere! The toilets were clean and seemed recently refurbished - it even had fresh flowers, which was a lovely touch. The pub also had a good selection of board games, which was a nice surprise. Great Friday evening - we were impressed and will be back! :)

Friendly staff (and pub dog), well-kept London Pride and excellent home-made pizza. This would be a great place to have a pint and a bite to eat while watching football on the big screens.

We had been recommended to go here for the pizzas. So glad we did. A family of 6, all our plates were clean and empty, really tasty. The staff were all so friendly and attentive. Our dog was also made to feel very welcome.

A group of us have been using this pub for drinks and lunch before going to the football at Selhurst Park for some years. Until this summer there was a wide lunchtime menu and the food was good. Now the only offer is pizza. This may or may not be good but I can’t say because on the two occasions I’ve been there since August there has been no food available at all. The beer is good - it’s a Fuller’s house, after all - but the non availability of food makes a visit pointless. We won’t be back.

The ambience and the quality of the food and service is good. It is a shame that they have reduced the number of choices under the prix fixe menu to tru and recuperate money lost during lockdown.

Hidden gem, with good ales, in an area I wouldn't associate with pubs like The Builders and The Oval Tavern. Worth the trip for both excellent venues. Hopefully, they bring each other business and create an "ale trail" in the area. The Builders had excellent Hophead on, a friendly welcome and I was even able to watch rugby league. I would definitely return if in the area.

Pricey but beer garden is a loada fun

First time in this pub , had a wonderful night , Staff are very friendly , locals are too all in all a really great place to be, indoor and outdoor dining at the minute tho there is no dining due to covid rules but they hope to be up and running with meals again in the next few weeks Def worth the 5 stars
