We had heard about The Bubble Inn from loved ones and decided to finally give their Sunday Lunch a try. We were seated upstairs, however staff checked if it was suitable for our party. Service from Alice and Grace was professional yet friendly as well as a smile despite the busy lunch. Great atmosphere throughout the pub (however was slightly warm in the upstairs area). The carvery was spot on and the lady carving was also very welcoming to all of us. Will further these recommendations to our loved ones and we will definitely be returning. We arrived without reservations and told we could sit in the bar. There is an excellent choices from the menu. Some very good gluten free options as well. The allergen was dealt with very well asking several questions. The food was quick to arrive and it was very tasty. Only 2 things we agreed we didn’t like. The waitress took the plate away before everyone had finished just a personal pet hate, and the overwhelming smell of perfume in the toilets it’s too strong. But other than that highly recommended and will be back.

Great pub for a family meal, food was delicious. The young man who served us was called Josh he was lovely very attentive. Definitely worth a visits, the Greek food was very authentic

Went for lunch. It’s a really strange place. There was a swing singer performing which was nice but didn’t really fit on a Sunday afternoon but did create a nice atmosphere. The carvery looked a bit dry so went of the main menu and the food was lovely. The barn ceiling has the biggest cobwebs I have ever seen and the food was being served below them. The waiting staff were very friendly but I don’t really appreciate being called sweetheart by someone young enough to be my daughter and there’s a lot of jostling around. Not sure it would ever be my first choice to visit again

Visited many times and the food and service is always good. Staff are friendly. Food is well priced and very nice. Service is fast. The only thing that lets it down is the outdoor seating/benches. Tables and chairs on the patio are fine, but the wooden tables/benches are in desperate need of replacing.

Me, my husband and 3 year old daughter had dinner here last night and we were thoroughly impressed. My husband ordered the pork Gyros and I ordered the halloumi gyros which were delicious, both very generous portions super tasty and fresh. My daughter is a fussy eater so the waitress made up a meal just for her which was amazing. Great atmosphere and everywhere was clean. We will definitely be back again!

Fabulous food. We love the choice of Greek and other dishes. Always cooked well and served by friendly staff. The pub was busy enough for there to be a buzz but not too noisy. We'll be back soon!

Really enjoyed our evening meal here. Had chicken kebabs and they were delicious. Staff very friendly and welcoming. The dining area was very comfy and relaxing with a wood burning stove.

Visited for Sunday tea sat in bar as we had dog with us. Pub was freezing no fire lit and radiators cold. I had to keep my coat on whilst dining. Service was slow even though pub was pretty quiet. Definitely a summer choice pub

Came in for a family meal, ordered a round of drinks at the bar and the bartender was lovely and then he bought all of the drinks up to our table for us. We were then given our menus. Grace was brilliant and answered any questions we had. Grace was also very good with my children and their requests. The only problem we had was that some things weren’t available on the menu and that when asked for Game Pie, which was on the festive menu, we were told that it was only Steak and Ale Pie available. Other than that we had a lovely meal and will definitely be returning. Thank you so much!

Just back from a wonderful overnight stay at the Bubble Inn… The room was very clean and comfortable with everything you needed. The bathroom was very spacious with a large bath and walk in shower separate. We have stayed in some very expensive hotels and not had such luxury. Last nights meal was delicious and the menu was filled with treats for all tastes. The bar has a very good selection of beers, wines and spirits and the place was warm and comfortable with a very friendly atmosphere. We will definitely be back and can’t recommend enough…Well done guys..

A very enjoyable meal with family in excellent surroundings. Apart from our vegetarian granddaughter, who had scampi, we all had the carvery, which was plentiful and very tasty. Staff were very welcoming, attentive and friendly, ensuring that we were told when the scampi was going to be served so that we could all eat together. We would definitely recommend this establishment.

Wanted something to eat after a few drinks. Wanted what we had the previous week which was the starter shish kebab. We wanted an extra kebab which we happily paid £3 extra for the previous week. Chef refused!!! WTF !! So eventually had to order 3 to get an extra kebap each an extra £4.25 each. Not happy particularly as we are regulars at the bubble. Will be reconsidering this if managment don't sort out the surly chef!!!

Three of us booked a table for a Sunday Carvery. Walking into the Inn it was cold, we felt the radiators near to our table and they were all cold. I for one really didn’t want to take my coat off as I was perished. We ordered our carveries, felt a bit cheated on the roast potatoes as the server only put two on our plates. No peas except mushy peas … mushy peas with a carvery ? I chose the Slow Roasted Lamb … it was terrible … like chewing rubber. I couldn’t eat it, nor cut through with my knife … so brought it home for the dog. It wasn’t cheap either but it’s the worst lamb I’ve ever had ! My friends chose the Mixed Meat carvery and Turkey carvery and they said there’s were fine. I do like The Bubble Inn but I certainly wouldn’t have their carvery again.

We were lucky enough to win a nights stay and a meal at the bubble inn. As we hadn’t chosen it ourselves, didn’t know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised! The rooms were lovely, decorated nicely and very clean. Good shower, our friends in the room opposite had a roll top bath and a huge shower! There was a patio outside our room with table and chairs. Breakfast was taken in a separate room from the restaurant. Breakfast was good. Served by a lovely lady called Tracy. We were there on a Sunday evening, there is a carvery served on Sundays which looked lovely. The main menu was a little pared down on Sundays. We all went for the Greek options, which there is more of on the normal menu. The food was delicious! No photos taken as we were eager to tuck in! Price wise, its good value and the portions are generous. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely pay to stay again. My only criticism is the lack of cocktails! Only three or four pre mixed ones. Plenty of other drink options available.

Went for Sunday lunch for my Dads birthday waited 10-15 minutes for 5 drinks, we then went down the the carvery all 5 meats had very little left on them, very fatty, did ask for more lamb to be told there was plenty left and was served chunks of fat, very little veg available was told more would be out in 30 seconds, waited around 5 more minutes by this time meat had gone cold, complaining to staff while we waited and the manager was on the cavery and said nothing, other people were complaining by this point, veg finally came out undercooked, we asked multiple times to speak to a manager waited over half a hour as nobody had been to see us we went down to pay we refused to pay for the meals as they arent cheap and the service and food we received was beyond unacceptable, very rude girl when we asked again to see a manager, the manager finally came over after we refused to pay for the food to be told its theft, we asked to see the owner who refused to speak to us and hid in the kitchen Im not sure how this place offers a cavery when they clearly cant provide quality meat/veg or staff, we should have stuck to toby!

Called in with my wife for some lunch over the Christmas holiday. Having heard so many good things about this place we were looking forward to trying the food. I went to the bar, ordered and paid for the food. My wife ordered a captains feast pizza and I ordered ham and mushroom. This pub calls itself a Gastropub so we were expecting good quality food as we were paying restaurant prices. (£32 for 2 pizzas and 2 drinks) 45 minutes later when the food turned up my wife asked where the chicken tikka topping was on hers? The waitress said we should have been told when we ordered that there was no chicken tikka. 3 things; 1. Why were we not told this when we ordered? 2. Why did whoever cooked it allow it to be sent out of the kitchen? 3. Why were we not offered an alternative. Unbelievable. What I found really insulting was the fact that they they thought they could charge us for something they knew they didn’t have and and think we wouldn’t notice. At the time we just thought we would let it go but it really has played on my mind since. As for the pizzas themselves, they were swimming in grease and served on a board with no edges and no serviettes to clean up the mess. I have been here a few times and enjoyed a pint in the summer outside next to the canal which is lovely but definitely won’t be eating here again.

From the offset when we walked in the bar staff were "discussing" another member of staff infront of customers, we should have known then to walk away!Then we were placed upstairs despite the fact we had 3 babies in our group and there being no lift to the 1st floor.Over 1.5 hrs to get our orders taken and the starters to arrive which were terrible, 2 of the 6 got sent back to the kitchen, the soup was like 3 day old dish water with no taste whatsoever.Another hour and a bit later the mains arrived, again terrible! Several of the meals were sent back unedible as in, a mixed grill that was tougher than old boots, sloppy frozen lamb shank, dry "steak" or should I say left over dry beef and raw onion baguette, the list goes on.Needless to say we will not be back. The only good thing about the place was our waiter a young man called Alfie who despite all of the problems he handled it like a true professional and never once let the complaints taint his attention to our needs. A lot of your staff could learn from this young man including your manager who failed to come and see us when requested. For a company to send a young man back up to deal with our issues instead of the manager is cowardly and unprofessional. Buck your ideas up guys or you will have no customers left at this rate!

I went to the Bubble Inn on Boxing Day with 8 family members and I have genuinely never experienced such terrible food in my life. We ended up sending five meals back to the kitchen, because of how awful they were. The soup tasted like kitchen cleaner, the mixed grill was dry and tough and what was described on the menu, didn’t leave the kitchen. We complained so many times to be offered a free round of drinks and the food we hadn’t eaten deducted from the bill. We politely refused the drinks as it was so bad that we wanted to leave ASAP. I have never been to an establishment where the food is so consistently bad. It’s such a shame as I have been to the bubble a lot over the last few years and never had a problem. There are obviously staff issues as they were all bickering outside instead of serving people, hence the 90 minute wait for food. It completely ruined our Boxing Day and it’s safe to say we’ll never return or visit the Tutbury branch.
