CUSTOMERS TALK ABOUT DISHES WITH.. bassold

comment_iconOpinions

I've tried it twice since it's renaisance, and I'm sad to say how lifeless it is. A, real aehouse so close to the station is surely a 'No brainer'. Chuffer Knutters and real ale go hand in glove, however a venue bereft of atmosphere stands little chance. Unhappy employees radiate their discontentment to punters. I wish you every success in this new venture, unfortunately you will have to achieve your aims without my continued custom. Good luck.

We came into the station pub while we waited for a train , we had a couple of beers and a few soft drinks, management are really welcoming and very pleasant. It's a homely, relaxing environment and both are chatty, we will visit again when we visit Derby. Thankyou for your hospitality.🙂

As far as I'm concerned, this is the best pub in the Midlands. Why? It comes down to the people. Everyone I've met here has been welcoming and friendly.

Dropped by for a drink whilst staying nearby, to be honest couldn't wait to leave, as soon as we got to the bar was greeted by a very friendly bar maid but there was a tirade of bad language from a local. We sat down at the opposite end of the pub only to be engulfed with cigarette smoke from the patrons who were having a fag right in the entrance. I would recommend The Brunswick at the other end of the street over this establishment, it has a far superior choice of drinks and a much better ambience.

How rare to find a privately owned pub that's not part of a chain where great service comes naturally and food is well priced and great quality

Great little pub near the station serves great beer if your a Bass drinker you will love it they do an amazing pint of bass, just like a real old pub the way they used to be. Staff are great as well. keep a lookout for this one as it's easily missed it's only small and does not stand out like the modern pubs.

Visited the Station Inn for the first time ever on Wednesday evening. A small, pleasant but very traditional pub just outside the city centre, a short walk from the railway station. Friendly staff too.The menu was limited as to what was on offer, but when my food arrived (Steak and Ale pie with chips, 3 different veg and gravy it was very filling and delicious. At £11.35 for the meal and a pint of Guinness the price was about what you would expect to pay for a pub meal and a drink. The only downside is the limited menu, but the quality of the food is excellent.

The Station inn and kitchen is a very pleasant traditional bar, great atmosphere and excellent food. I had the lamb shank which was fantastic and clearly not portion controlled, a great homely hearty meal and a great pint of bass served from the jug

Must be 45 years since I went in here and it hasn't changed one bit. That is not a criticism, it is an authentic pub not one trying to look the part. The service was quick I had Pedigree New World one of my favourites of the new lighter hoppier beers and the boss ( the Vodka and Tonic drinker) had a half of Bass from the jug, talk about reliving the past. The atmosphere in the pub was lively, one of the hidden gems in Derby

We had been walking around a bit lost on a wet night and stopped for a warm. We never expected to be able to get food at that time on a Friday night. It was 8.45 and asked if we could eat. They fed us very well and we came away happy. Thank you so much to the Scottish lady who looked after us even putting our wet coats on the radiator to dry out. The food was fine and very reasonable. Go there.
