Love the Brunswick. It was our stop at the end of an Easter pub crawl around Derby. If we'd started here I wouldn't have wanted to leave. Opened in 1842 and marked for demolition along with the railway cottages in the mid 70's this pub has been left derelict and abandoned more than once. It was lovingly renovated, restored and reopened in 1987. It is a thing of beauty and not to be missed if ever this way you do pass.

Been going to this local pub for over 20 years, Good range of flat ciders upto 16. Had 8 when I visited. Also their cheesy chip butties are amazing. Its a very well known real ale pub and a must visit if your in the area.

Wonderful staff, fabulous food and great atmosphere. Our party of 46 thoroughly enjoyed the fantastic service from Mr Philippe and his team. I highly recommend The Brunswick for larger parties.

Absolutely great, the bartender is very nice and even showed us the brewery. The atmosphere could hardly be cozier, simply a real original. There is also beer tasting, recommended.

An amazing heritage pub but our last visit was marred by much of the premises smelling badly, including from the toilets.

Always a good beer and food a warm open fire what more could you want.

Great traditional watering hole . Great selection of beers a real old fashioned pub should be on the go to list of any serious ale connoisseur. Good atmosphere . Sadly didn't try the food but plenty coming into the pub to eat .

Went here on 27th of December for a friend's birthday. A cracking pub with an awesome selection of ales. An online brewery makes it all the more special and I particularly liked the fact you can see I to the brewery. When I was there the atmosphere was brilliant.

Huge selection of real ales, craft ales and everything in between. Even lager. Fair prices, nice atmosphere.

If you enjoy dog friendly pubs then I would avoid this one completely. The landlord was extremely aggressive and obviously had been drinking as the way he approached us to tell us our puppy couldn’t be on the seat next to us was disgusting. If we’d of been asked politely to either hold of put her on the floor then we’d of obviously had no problems however his tone from the very start was aggressive and when I replied back he stood up and walked over to us in a very aggressive manner. If you’ve got dogs then I’d say stay away from here. I certainly won’t be recommending to anyone.

Food and service was great, very quite when we attended but that was fine my me and it was a Tuesday evening. Good selection of real ales.

Brewery good beer people friendly and good food

Great welcome with real ales and a traditional warm and clean atmosphere. The food was piping hot and nicely served. A short walk from the modernised train station. What’s not to like?

If you are looking for a traditional pub with character and a large choice of independent ales, then this is the place for you. However, sadly the food lets it down. I ordered the cod croquettes which were more like fish cakes which were obviously cooked from Frozen. I also had a ham and mushroom pizza which the base tasted pre-baked. This place is far from a gastro-pub. More like a traditional pub selling a choice of snacks and nibbles.

Great selection of ale and cider. Have spend many a comfortable evening in the Brunswick without ever running out of options for a new tipple

Superb beer and great atmosphere. Always the same anytime of day. Food is good too if you're in there when its serving.

Visited on Saturday 5th October after travelling to Derby for a night out with friends. We visited this place as it was closest to our hotel. We only went in as we knew there was a dartboard but unfortunately the dartboard wasn't up as they were having a beer festival. We jokingly ask the lad behind the bar "any chance you can move them barrels and get dart board up" the lad with the beard was obviously n a bad mood and rudely replied "what am I meant to do I've got beer barrels there, do you expect me to move them all just for darts" I looked at my buddy and we were like "all right chill out calm down we were just joking" he just looked at us in pure disgust and turned away without serving us. We were eventually served by the other chap on duty. Whilst we were being served another chap had a run in with the same barman. The customer asked for a beer and bag of crisps, obviously making the grumpy barman go out of his way, The barman threw the crisps toward the chap on the other side of the bar to which he replied "you ok pal"? The beer was very nice to be fair I had crybay by super cute brewery and my mate had the cider aspinalls I think. The venue was great to be fair with its own brewery and there was plenty of choice of drinks. Unfortunately the lad behind the bar totally let the place down. He's a lucky lad if I'm honest. If it had been me he threw the crisps at, I would've dragged him over the bar to have a word with.

Great beer festival....so popular!

If you like railway memorabilia it is a goldmine. Multi-room pub with many features taken from the railway. Good beer and nice staff. I didn't try the food but others were doing so with gusto.

Went the beer festival on Wednesday evening great pub , beers were lovely friendly locals and the owner was great .

Came in on the 24/09/24 Fantastic beers as always great food and staff.the only thing I would say is the pub was so cold it cut our visit somewhat.

Went Monday fairly empty went Tuesday very busy, didn’t eat but it’s a great place, 1 of my 2 gotos now when in Derby (Station is well easy walking distance ;-))

We didn’t eat at the Brunswick apart from a packet of crisps but fell in love with the place. Amazing choice of beers. Lots of seating inside. We sat outside in the garden. Very close to the railway station. We saw the beer festival advert for this years beer festival. Sadly we are busy but have put it in our diary for 2025!!

What a great place for a few beers before a curry. Great atmosphere with the locals trying to finish a cryptic crossword. The barlord and locals recommend the Viceroy for a curry. It did not disappoint!

I'd not been to this place in over 20 years but popped in last week - it's not changed at all and is just a good. A 'proper' pub; decent beer, a warm welcome and at a good price too.

What a fantastic real ale pub with a great selection of beers, with a variety brewed on site, and all at a very reasonable price particularly if you’ve got a CAMRA membership. Tried several beers all of which were very tasty and exceptionally well kept. The pub has a traditional feel with several different rooms, and railway associated memorabilia. Staff were very welcoming and helpful with recommendations. Food is available although I only managed the delicious Cheese and Onion Cob. Well worth a visit and handy for both the railway and bus stations.

A good venue at Derby for beer fans: the Brunswick Inn is a microbrewery and has a great and diverse choice of beers, with some of their own. The staff is very nice!

Great little ale House with well-kept beers & a homesome food menu. Clientele is a bit of the fleece wearing beard sporting type but don't let this put you off

Wednesday 8th March 2023 This great pub in Derby brews its own real ale on the premises and its a great interios of years gone by to drink the delicious home brewed and many more real ales on offer here place is so very easy going knowledgeable customers and friendly staff add to this pubs reasons for coming here to drink great real ales Derby has so many great places to drink real ales in, so remember this pub has been a Tuesday 9th December 2024 Today, i again visited this derby brew pub, which is as always when in Derby, an essential visit for all real ale drinker Couple of minutes from the station is an essential visit for drinkers of real ales No pub has such a tremendous range of real ales the landlord is a proper conisseur of beer the pub has a proper feeling to it and yhe brewey is in the building keep up the good work

Only stopped off for one drink after maybe 25+ years bud it was nice to get out of the cold in what seems like a real pub I would recommend a visit.

Stopped off to pass the time with a pint & some games of chess on my phone while I waited for my train. Staff was lovely, pints and atmosphere were spot on. Very much enjoyed the brief visit.

Very good traditional pub, excellent range of alcoholic products across the range especially real ales. The menu range is wide ranging and well served. A very good public house all round.

Excellent beer and food. Recommend Brunswick Rocket with Chilli, Chips and Rice. Staff are very friendly and very accommodating for Cyclists.

Great historic pub. Lessons to be learnt as this place was almost (unbelievably) lost. A great welcome to historic derby!
