Quite good pub serving good food and good facilities, eg toilets. Ramped steps, dog friendly, tourist jnfo, near Dawlish Waters. Recommend.

Have visited the area over a few years, but had never ventured into this pub! Can't believe we missed out on this little gem! Stopped by on two occasions for lunch, and found a table easy. Nice little place, lots of tables available and very friendly bar staff. Toilets were clean, and the food was well presented and cooked really nice - piping hot and fresh. Really enjoyed it here and would definitely visit again if in the area.

Food was decent- everyone said that they enjoyed their meals. Bar staff seemed somewhat disinterested. Appeared more of a drinking place than eating, but this could have been due to the time we visited. Had to look for own cutlery etc. wasn’t as warm and cosy as expected.

We booked on line only to be told when we got there that they had no tables. So best to check before you go or call. Excuse given that the landlord had not told staff of tge bookings

Read the reviews on here before so thought we would reserve a week in advance for our holiday. I booked for 5 of us for 5:45 and booking was confirmed. We arrived and it took a while to get served. When I said we booked a table barman said “ok sit anywhere” there was a table of 4 and 2 left (not next to each other) so couldn’t comfortably seat us! We tried adding a chair but this made it cramped and the poor service meant on top of this meant we left. Very disappointed.

Lovely pub - we have been to Dawlish every Easter half term for the past 5 years and we have brought the dog here - been here with the kids, been on a heavy friends reunion night out and the in laws and every time had a great time - good Guinness and good food. The Sunday roast was superb for us - gravy was amazing and sharing Veg was great. Hard to find a pub with such a good mix of locals and people on tour with such a welcome atmosphere. Always come back here and would be my local any day.

The Neckoil was a great find on the taps, but the service was a little flat. No one was rude, and the venue looked nice and clean (we sat out front) but it just lacked a real feel of being welcomed.

Always dine here when visiting my mum. As always lovely bar staff very welcoming. Food was amazing, catered for my gluten free diet. Very reasonably priced. Warm and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend eating here. Chef very accommodating came and reassured me for my ceiloc diet. Thank you it means a lot .

Came for an early dinner on a Friday evening. The pub was lively with a good vibe. Bar staff were friendly fast and efficient, service was fast and the food was hot and delicious 😋 delivered by chef himself! Would thoroughly recommend 👌

Visited again in October 2024. Good atmosphere and plenty of room to find a quiet corner. Couple of pints of Doom Bar were terrific.

Lovely pub a cross road from Brook. Friendly staff and great homecooked food. Waygu burger was delicious with home cooked coleslaw and chunky chips that were cooked to perfection. Best Burger meal we have had. Def recommend. Sat outside after meal with a drink which was lovely listening to Brook babbling away. Friendly locals and great food in a clean pub. Chef came out to ask if all OK which is a nice touch too

The food was nice enough, the beer was ok, but the main cloud in the sky was the music. I’ll admit I’m a grumpy old man when it comes to modern pop music but it was too loud to shut out.

If you’re looking for a delicious cheeseburger this is the place to go, me and my partner used his taste card and got our food and a drink each for £28. We both had a cheeseburger each which came with plenty of chips, a decent size bowl coleslaw, some tasty onion rings and had some cheesy garlic ciabatta on the side. The dining area is towards the back slightly separated from the pub part in the front which is nice as you don’t feel on top of each other and the staff are nice and friendly. Well worth a meal if you’re in the area.

me and my partner were on holiday in dawlish last week. we visited the pub on multiple occasions, we were always made to feel very welcome. we had an amazing meal after a long day and felt very relaxed and content. a great choice of ciders and gins!! would definitely recommend to any visiting or living in dawlish!

We had a few days in Dawlish on the last Bank Holiday, and the Brunswick Arms was our favourite pub. Used by locals and tourists alike, it's a big venue, but very helpful and friendly staff. They allowed us to run a tab to have a few beers before ordering our meals. The food is very nice, decent sized portions and reasonable prices. There was a selection of real ales which were kept well and tasted great. A good central location, we would certainly recommend using this pub if you're staying in Dawlish.

Very deceiving from the outside as it looks quite small from the outside but goes back quite far with a pleasant dining area and the food was very good as was the service

Our first visit to The Brunswick Arms which is an old fashioned pub, just the way i like it. My mother and I ordered ham, egg and chips. Food was excellent with proper sarsons vinegar that hasn't been watered down like other places. Service and atmosphere is excellent, lovely lager too. Would definitely visit again.

Been here twice now with the family for a drink and a spot of lunch. Great traditional pub menu (not fussy) and great value. Good with kids and dog friendly outside (not that we have a dog!)

Came today for a Sunday dinner, it was absolutely delicious. Large portions and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Choice of chicken beef or pork. Would highly recommend

We came here to have something to eat before heading to the theatre to see "The Vicar of Dibley". We ordered once more their homemade steak and ale pie (with chunks of meat and carrots) which we enjoyed last year. We were once more not disappointed. However, we found some tables a bit sticky on arrival and moved to another table before ordering food.

Upon visiting the Good Old English Pub of Yesteryear. I really Loved it. Such a Warm Welcome from the Bar Associates and made me feel so Good and a very Important Patreon. Great place for food. They've tried to make wheelchair friendly with ramps. Seating outside too. Pool table. Good choice of beers. Food was good and really good prices.

We popped for a bite to eat. The front patio was quite crowded but there was plenty of space inside. The staff were all charming and the fish and chips were 👍. Would definitely recommend for a pub meal or just a few beers.

We were visiting Dawlish for the day with our little dog, and stopped here for a quick drink. Ended up staying for lunch and another drink. Food was good and generous portions. Nachos and cheesy garlic bread particularly tasty. Friendly staff and locals.

Lovely ploughmans & chips and we got to sit outside as it was a warm day. The food was perfectly fine pub food & a friendly welcome at the bar.

We visited the pub for a few drinks twice during our stay and it was lovely and friendly. On our second visit we decided to try the food as it had been recommended to us. To be honest we weren’t expecting it to be top quality but it was pretty poor to say the least. Reminded us of boil in the bag. We had “Haddock, Chips & Peas”. Haddock was preformed battered (cremated) Findus/Birds Eye things you might buy for the freezer for the kid’s tea, chips were just about passable. It was not what we were expecting.

Called in on the off chance and found a table for 6 people that was ideal for our group, the service was good and food came quickly

Went for lunch, 2.30 kept being reminded they shut kitchen at 3.00 so hard to hurry. Husband hand pie, chip and peas. Lovely and hot, he said tasty. I had what l thought was piece of haddock ended up as two frozen by the taste fish fingers, very disappointed. They are dog friendly which was handy but would not go again.

This was our fifth visit to Dawlish and we always have at least 2 meals at the Brunswick. We always receive a warm welcome from the staff and enjoy the friendly ambiance of the pub. The food and service was once again a very high standard. We gave eaten at a few other establishments in Dawlish and this is by far the best. A very well run pub and highly recommend.

We came here for a lunch for my dad's 70th birthday. The pub were very accommodating to our needs. The food was excellent and I am still dreaming about the chips!

Beautiful food with a friendly and local atmosphere 👌

We had a nice family meal here, portions were sizeable, the food was good and arrived quickly. The venue is deceptively large with plenty of tables. The landlord was a star and honoured a discount code we had from an app despite having no affiliation to the app that he was aware of! Sounds like the app was blagging a link that wasn't there, certainly not the pubs fault. They had a nice range of ales, so a pint of Hicks went down very well with my Steak and Ale pie. We will certainly be returning and would recommend the venue for those looking for a nice pub meal.

This place was amazing. There was 12 of us, and every one of us enjoyed our food. Large portions, reasonably priced, and very good quality home cooked food. Good atmosphere, friendly staff, lots of space inside even though it looks small from the outside. Thank you to the kitchen staff, waitresses and bar staff, we loved it here and visit Dawlish often, so we will definately be back!

This pub has an enormous dining room - almost like a school refectory from Victorian times. We were just there for drinks and to shelter from the pouring rain.

Popped in for lunch today while visiting the area. We got a very warm welcome to us, our dog and baby. Had some really nice well priced food and they did a side plate of cucumber for our young one which was nice. Will definitely come again when next past this way :)

Bland nachos just looked like a bag of crisps with cheese on top.

A Lovely pub in the middle of Dawlish. The Service was excellent, the food was good and the atmosphere was nice and relaxed. A lovely way to spend a Sunday lunchtime.

Great staff. Bug plates of home cooked food couldn't fault it. Will be back just for a decent meal, not a microwave one.

Popped in for lunch, had a pint and a lovely bacon and brie sandwich. The white bread was lovely.

Excellent local and tourist pub a few minutes walk from the bus stops and railway station. Located next to the brook that flows through The Lawn famous for the Black Swans that reside here. Good choice of real ales and good quality food at decent prices. Locals are a great bunch and the staff are very friendly.

A busy pub used well by locals, however, not so busy in the restaurant area, which was a shame as the food was excellent & a very reasonable price. We were lucky enough to have been directed there by a local who recommended them highly

Called in for a drink and stayed a couple of hours. The Guinness is to die for it's one of the places I've drunk Guinness in for a long time. The bar staff are very friendly and dogs are made very welcome. Would highly recommend this pub to anyone.

A local for locals, also recently revamped and has an excellent food menu. Advised to book ahead for Sunday lunch or evening meal, especially in the summer months.

Only problem here is the time limit for serving food. They stopped serving about 3pm onwards. No late lunches available.

This was a great little find, food was really good pub grub and lovely location. I was really shocked by the size of the pub inside and it has a pool table too. I came in with a friend who was visiting but I am definitely coming back with the kids and the dog! I think I have found our new family local.

Really lovely and friendly pub. Food has been great apart from one meal and that was the tikka masala which was tasteless but that was on another visit and didn't stop us coming back. Bar staff and locals so friendly. Would definitely recommend a visit. Quite an extensive good menu and you can get 2 for 1 for up to 4 people with tastecard app (free trial) we had 3 ploughman's (1 cheese, 1 brie & 1 crab) and scampi. Prices range from £11 upwards for main meals. Also pub is dog friendly which is another plus.
