Came today for a Sunday dinner, it was absolutely delicious. Large portions and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Choice of chicken beef or pork. Would highly recommend

Good solid pub grub. Child friendly as well. And on the level with easy access from The Lawn.

Food is fantastic, would highly recommend. Have been several times while holidaying nearby. Rang in the morning to book for large table of 16 for lunch with no problem. Always busy, friendly staff and lots of choice. Thanks

We came here to have something to eat before heading to the theatre to see "The Vicar of Dibley". We ordered once more their homemade steak and ale pie (with chunks of meat and carrots) which we enjoyed last year. We were once more not disappointed. However, we found some tables a bit sticky on arrival and moved to another table before ordering food.

Upon visiting the Good Old English Pub of Yesteryear. I really Loved it. Such a Warm Welcome from the Bar Associates and made me feel so Good and a very Important Patreon. What a Wonderful Pub situated in Dawlish Warren. Thank you for making my visit just the Best. I was very Impressed by how i was Treated like a very Important Patreon. Thank you so much to Everyone. Great place for food. They've tried to make wheelchair friendly with ramps. Seating outside too. Pool table. Good choice of beers. Food was good and really good prices.

We popped for a bite to eat. The front patio was quite crowded but there was plenty of space inside. The staff were all charming and the fish and chips were 👍. Would definitely recommend for a pub meal or just a few beers.

We were visiting Dawlish for the day with our little dog, and stopped here for a quick drink. Ended up staying for lunch and another drink. Food was good and generous portions. Nachos and cheesy garlic bread particularly tasty. Friendly staff and locals.

Lovely ploughmans & chips and we got to sit outside as it was a warm day. The food was perfectly fine pub food & a friendly welcome at the bar.

We visited the pub for a few drinks twice during our stay and it was lovely and friendly. On our second visit we decided to try the food as it had been recommended to us. To be honest we weren’t expecting it to be top quality but it was pretty poor to say the least. Reminded us of boil in the bag. We had “Haddock, Chips & Peas”. Haddock was preformed battered (cremated) Findus/Birds Eye things you might buy for the freezer for the kid’s tea, chips were just about passable. It was not what we were expecting.

Called in on the off chance and found a table for 6 people that was ideal for our group, the service was good and food came quickly

Went for lunch, 2.30 kept being reminded they shut kitchen at 3.00 so hard to hurry. Husband hand pie, chip and peas. Lovely and hot, he said tasty. I had what l thought was piece of haddock ended up as two frozen by the taste fish fingers, very disappointed. They are dog friendly which was handy but would not go again.

This was our fifth visit to Dawlish and we always have at least 2 meals at the Brunswick. We always receive a warm welcome from the staff and enjoy the friendly ambiance of the pub. The food and service was once again a very high standard. We gave eaten at a few other establishments in Dawlish and this is by far the best. A very well run pub and highly recommend.

We came here for a lunch for my dad's 70th birthday. The pub were very accommodating to our needs. The food was excellent and I am still dreaming about the chips!

This place was amazing. There was 12 of us, and every one of us enjoyed our food. Large portions, reasonably priced, and very good quality home cooked food. Good atmosphere, friendly staff, lots of space inside even though it looks small from the outside. Thank you to the kitchen staff, waitresses and bar staff, we loved it here and visit Dawlish often, so we will definately be back!

We had a nice family meal here, portions were sizeable, the food was good and arrived quickly. The venue is deceptively large with plenty of tables. The landlord was a star and honoured a discount code we had from an app despite having no affiliation to the app that he was aware of! Sounds like the app was blagging a link that wasn't there, certainly not the pubs fault. They had a nice range of ales, so a pint of Hicks went down very well with my Steak and Ale pie. We will certainly be returning and would recommend the venue for those looking for a nice pub meal.

This pub has an enormous dining room - almost like a school refectory from Victorian times. We were just there for drinks and to shelter from the pouring rain.

Bland nachos just looked like a bag of crisps with cheese on top.

Popped in for lunch today while visiting the area. We got a very warm welcome to us, our dog and baby. Had some really nice well priced food and they did a side plate of cucumber for our young one which was nice. Will definitely come again when next past this way :)

A Lovely pub in the middle of Dawlish. The Service was excellent, the food was good and the atmosphere was nice and relaxed. A lovely way to spend a Sunday lunchtime.

Great staff. Bug plates of home cooked food couldn't fault it. Will be back just for a decent meal, not a microwave one.

Popped in for lunch, had a pint and a lovely bacon and brie sandwich. The white bread was lovely.

Excellent local and tourist pub a few minutes walk from the bus stops and railway station. Located next to the brook that flows through The Lawn famous for the Black Swans that reside here. Good choice of real ales and good quality food at decent prices. Locals are a great bunch and the staff are very friendly.

A busy pub used well by locals, however, not so busy in the restaurant area, which was a shame as the food was excellent & a very reasonable price. We were lucky enough to have been directed there by a local who recommended them highly

Called in for a drink and stayed a couple of hours. The Guinness is to die for it's one of the places I've drunk Guinness in for a long time. The bar staff are very friendly and dogs are made very welcome. Would highly recommend this pub to anyone.

A local for locals, also recently revamped and has an excellent food menu. Advised to book ahead for Sunday lunch or evening meal, especially in the summer months.

Only problem here is the time limit for serving food. They stopped serving about 3pm onwards. No late lunches available.

Very friendly and good Sunday roast, we had the beef which was good as was the vegetables and yorkshire pud and stuffing 😋

This was a great little find, food was really good pub grub and lovely location. I was really shocked by the size of the pub inside and it has a pool table too. I came in with a friend who was visiting but I am definitely coming back with the kids and the dog! I think I have found our new family local.

Really lovely and friendly pub. Food has been great apart from one meal and that was the tikka masala which was tasteless but that was on another visit and didn't stop us coming back. Bar staff and locals so friendly. Would definitely recommend a visit. Quite an extensive good menu and you can get 2 for 1 for up to 4 people with tastecard app (free trial) we had 3 ploughman's (1 cheese, 1 brie & 1 crab) and scampi. Prices range from £11 upwards for main meals. Also pub is dog friendly which is another plus.

Popular pub in Dawlish with some good beer choices. Slow and somewhat disinterested service was a minor negative.

Wonderful service and food. They catered for our party of 26 and a baby with ease and everyone ate at the same time. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Because we pre booked there were no hold ups and the staff were very prompt. Would definitely recommend.

Food was ok, but definitely one for the locals. The stares almost burnt a hole in me when I entered, knowing I wasn't a regular.

Amazing Wagyu burgers! ...... Attended a few days after this and order was lost. But staff were great. Apologised and gave a part refund. Food was again great so would I recommend? Absolutely!

Friendly staff, quick service. Food was OK, could have been a little bit warmer. Atmosphere would have been perfect if a loud noisy family hadn't arrived. The children were screaming and shouting, and were just running around. Did spoil it while we were trying to eat our meal. Not the fault of the pub or staff. Would visit again.

Inside needs a bit of a makeover, front outside area pleasent enough overlooking the green. Bar staff (young man), needs to go on a customer service awareness course.

4 friends joined us for Sunday lunch. We pre booked. There is a large, comfortable dining room. Our meals came shortly after they had been ordered the food was piping hot and delicious. Great value for money, dinner and dessert for less than £20. We liked it so much that we went back and had the best bbq spare ribs and real chips ever. 👍

The food was good and the atmosphere and service also good. We sat in the large room at the back which was ideal for little kids who could make more noise and not interrupt other diners.

After a 7 mile walk it was good to get a nice pint of Otter.

We dropped in for roast today and it was beautiful. Fresh, hot and lots of veg etc. the staff couldn’t do enough for us and the chef even came out to ask was everyone happy. It’s a Sunday and they only do a roast and it’s a great typical English pub with the added bonus of Meerkat offers.

First visit to this pub and definitely the last, on arrival we stood at the bar for the best part of 10 minutes and was totally ignored (the bar wasn't busy) then after finally being seen to by the most unfriendly young lady we were pointed in the direction of our table where we were totally ignored again for another 25 minutes. No menu was offered to us infact not a word was spoken to us so we decided to get up and leave. We left our drinks on the table. All in all I can confidently say this is the worse Customer Service we have ever experienced. Going forward from your response to my earlier review we never expected table service or another menu we were happy to have Sunday lunch & also happy to order from the bar but because we were ignored we had no idea what we had to do regarding ordering!!
