We've been coming here for years but disappointed this time. My husband had salmon and prawn salad, only 2 prawns!! I had blackened salmon which was good but had to search hard for the broccoli. They've stopped selling wine in 125ml option, £8 for 175ml seemed excessive. We did point out the shortcomings of the food to the staff who didn't seem interested. Such a shame, we won't be rushing back.

Really good atmosphere and lovely food. Already busy due to music event but this did not affect service or quality of food. We were a table of 8 and all of us loved our meals

We drink in the Brown Cow regularly -the full range of Timmy Taylors is kept well. We've always been tempted by a meal but the poor wine choice has put us off. Well opportunity arose as I was driving. A Tuesday evening, almost all the tables were reserved so a busy evening expected. Sat down. The scallop starter and any fries had already run out - it wasn't even 6.30! Make some fries perhaps? Ordered nachos to share - very good. This starter saved this from a 2 star review. Steak and mushroom pie, a slice from a large pie, not individual - steak tough, lack any real depth of flavour, over salty, puff pastry not, bottom past soggy, just mush. Served with insipid gravy, no flavour and sweet? Chips, as others have stated, over cooked and done in old, way past it's best oil. Aranchini - 2 small balls of stodge. Very little rice. Aranchini should be mostly rice. Won't be going back again for food.

We were so looking forward to this visit after family members visited just a month ago and couldn't fault the service or food , but what a difference a few weeks make. Apart from the friendly young man who took our drinks and then meal orders there was absolutely no customer service- had any of the four staff members constantly chatting to each other at the bar bothered to check if everything was OK with our meals then two of us would have sent our food back- chips so over cooked almost black, smelt of dirty old cooking oil and the Battered Fish not much better extremely over cooked and dry! The portion of Scampi was the smallest I've ever seen was served with hard under cooked peas. After eating what we could(1 of our group is a diabetic so had no choice but to eat something) we waited for over 20 minutes before I had to go upto the bar and ask for the bill, only then did someone come to clear the table, I told the waitress about the food and how poor the service had been, she did say we could speak to a manager but by then we'd had enough, paid our very over priced bill and left-- won't be returning.

Visited here with family and just with my wife recently for impromptu food and a couple of drinks. I have to say the pub is well run, clean and the staff are very friendly. The new additional seating outside is lovely. The food is pretty good pub grub. Proper pies, sausage and mash, etc. We had the burger (which was nice, meat a tad overcooked but no biggie), fish finger sandwich (wolfed down) and the sausage and mash (delicious but for me, should come with peas). Followed up with sticky toffee pudding, which was superb. Thank you very much.

Didn't enjoy the experience at all. They had just opened and the room was freezing cold so not comfortable. The fish finger sandwich was 2 tiny pieces of cold battered fish in 2 small ovals of rock hard bread on an unhygienic wooden platter with a mound of oily green leaves to make it look bigger! Our friends loaded fries were soggy and unappealing and he left most of it. Over £3 for a Pepsi which was 60% ice. When I told the waitress the fish was cold she just shrugged and when our friend commented on the quality of the conjealed fries she just said he should have put sauce on. Overpriced and unappetising.

One thing to know about the Brown Cow: go hungry cos the food is excellent! We went on a Date Night and enjoyed drinks from the bar then went to our reserved table. Although the Starters looked delicious we decided to forgo those in favour of a Main course and dessert if we had room. I chose a steak with pepper sauce cooked just the way I like it, and hubby chose an excellent Chicken Balti pie from the Specials board all washed down with a lovely Pinot Noir. After that I couldn’t miss the Sticky Toffee pudding with ice cream. A totally tasty meal! What made the evening even more special is that (for no extra charge) from 9.30 an excellent group starting playing popular tunes which really rounded off the night.

When this place reopened at Easter we visited a few times for lunch, always amazing food, usually sat outside in the lovely new decking area, no complaints, then in June time the menu changed. Slashed the choice massively the quality also dropped. Tried a few times but very disappointing, we have gone from visiting a lot to never!! Very disappointing as we thought we found the perfect place. Look again. 😔 such a shame after such a good start!

Went last night with family for my 50th birthday. I have visited before and always enjoyed but I thought I would leave a review this time! It Is always a gamble recommending somewhere to go to eat but on this occasion I am glad I did. All of the party enjoyed the food with the fish and chips being well received. The specials board was also used by a couple of people and again they were thoroughly pleased. To match the food is the service which is also excellent. No regrets here recommending the Brown Cow!

We booked a table on a Tuesday night for a meal and then to join the weekly pub quiz. The food was excellent - recommend the sausage and mash. As for the pub quiz, unusually it was free to enter. Team size is limited to six people. We entered an adult and a kids team as there were eight of us. The first prize was a £25 voucher for the pub - which we won and we were able to use that to help pay for the food. A fun evening with good food and excellent service - really enjoyed it, in a nice pub.

Nicely refurbished with great outside beer garden. Food is part of the offer. We had Mexican burgers £14 supposed to be with nachos ...there was one. The presentation was poor no garnish, the burger over cooked and quite small. Served on large enamel plate. I had the ham roast dinner and was very underwhelmed. The plate was cold so the food was cold, only heat to the roast potato’s. I was supposed to get cauliflower cheese , think the cheese was missing from the 2 tiny heads of cauliflower. The cabbage seems as though it was just chopped and put on the plate. The parsnips were inedible as they were hard. I think I had about a table spoons of mash that was cold and the gravy was like water

Sunday afternoon. We pre ordered due to being a larger table and understood we would be on two separate tables. When we arrived we were placed on two tables in the middle of the bar. They informed us they didn’t have one of the starters. One of our party wanted to swap from Gammon to beef and we were told there was none left. No one took a drinks order so we had to keep going to the bar ourselves. All of the beer was warm. To the point we had to put ice in our San Miguel. The prawn starter arrived for four of us and we each had a different number of prawns and varying quality of garlic bread. The roast was cold and the majority of veg is frozen. We specifically requested no cabbage on one due to an allergy and they all came with cabbage. When we queried it, no one was bothered to change it. They free pour wine and don’t follow the Weights and Measures act of 1985. They tried to clear our table when some of us were still eating. When it came to desserts, the ones rubbed out were available and the ones showing weren’t….. We ordered two brownies and at no point did they mention any nuts. Again, showing a complete lack of allergen awareness. I tried to get the attention of the manager but no one was once bothered about our experience. No check backs, no “how was your meal” and not even a goodbye at the end.

Brown Cow Bingley has been our favourite restaurant since moving to West Yorkshire. Socially distance tables with screens. We had the lunch menu selecting the 8oz ribeye with chips and peppercorn sauce and fish and chips. Both perfect.
