We came here for my 40th last night and couldn't of wished for a better evening. We had the 3 course menu, both chose the Scallops, strawberry ketchup, rose, smoked caviar as our starter, Deer, pommes Anna, blood orange, oyster mushroom, sauce Grand Veneur was the main my partner chose, I had Duck, raspberry, rabbit, date, pommes, for desert my partner chose the Selection of 6 Scottish & French cheese, calvados & fruit chutney, rosemary salted digestives, grapes, I opted for the Blood orange parfait, pastel de nata, cranberry sorbet, cinnamon, poached pear, bergamot gel. One of the finest meals I've ever had. The food was equally matched by the enthusiasm of our host Sam who made our evening that little bit more special, thabk you Sam! Anyone visiting the Isle of Arran book yourself into this restaurant it's amazing!

We had the pleasure of eating at La Truffe Noire last night and were blown away by the experience. From the moment we arrived until we left we were warmly welcomed and attended to by Graeme the owner who could not do enough for us to ensure our visit was enjoyable. We had the 7 course tasting menu accompanied by The Wine Flight; perfection. Each dish was not only delicious, but also visually stunning, created by chef Timur, an extremely talented, young chef. Each dish was accompanied by a different wine to complement it. Graeme’s vast knowledge of the wines made them all the more enjoyable. This was haute cuisine at its finest, served in a lovely, friendly, unfussy environment. We cannot recommend it highly enough.

It was lovely to hear about the young chef running his own restaurant. My comments are meant kindly to help him achieve the excellence he aspires to. We had scallops and langoustines to start which sadly were overcooked. The venison main was a little tough with a delicious jus and large number of unnecessary sauces which didn’t complement the dish. One greenish puree was unpleasant. We shared a chocolate mousse for dessert which was pleasant but also had too many extra accompaniments including some tasteless spherified coffee. The restaurant was3/4 empty but everyone was put next to each other which felt uncomfortable . The waiter was a character but forgot water glasses and the wine list. Overall it was disappointing .

The tasting menu was recommended to us, however a slight miscommunication in our booking meant that wasn’t available. Despite this we had a fantastic a-la-carte dinner with excellent wines paired to our meals recommended by Graeme the Maitre d’ /sommelier. We discovered this gem of a restaurant on Tripadvisor whilst searching for places to eat out when on Arran. The reviews were good so thought we should try it. Thank goodness we did. We were met by the most friendliest host , he explained how the restaurant was a family business. His and his staff service was amazing. Then we ordered our food OMG absolutely delicious. The presentation perfect but the tastes superb. I had the scallops dish for entree and the Halibut for main. Could not fault these dishes. Also forgot to state the martini’s were also fantastic. Overall this is a first class restaurant and a perfect experience if you want al a carte experience.

I had read good things about this restaurant before our trip to the Isle of Arran so I booked for myself and my husband as a treat during our stay. And, wow, what a treat it was! The restaurant itself is beautiful without being over fussy. Graham, the owner, is friendly and welcoming - also a very knowledgeable sommelier recommending perfect wine pairings along with lots of interesting background information as to where the food is sourced. The food was stunning in presentation and taste. Definitely one of the best meals we’ve ever had. In fact it was so good, we returned on the last night of our stay. We tried different dishes on the menu this time and enjoyed another superb meal. Must say, the cocktails are excellent too! As we were the last table remaining, we enjoyed chatting and sharing stories with Graham who is a very engaging host. It was the perfect end to our wonderful trip to Arran and we will look forward to returning in the future.

My husband and I came across this gem of a restaurant by accident and thank goodness we did!!!!! Absolutely stunning, family run business offering a fine dining experience in the heart of Brodick. The owner Graham was kind, chatted us through the menu and extensive wine list. We both had the scallops to start, I had the monkfish and my husband the venison. The food was beautifully presented and tasted equally as good! One of the best meals we have ever had. We will be telling everyone about this restaurant and another reason to visit Arran! The restaurant (understandably) isn’t dog friendly but because the restaurant was more quiet due to the winter months on the isle. The owner made an exception and allowed us to dine with our well behaved dog. Thank you so much as we would never had the opportunity to experience this fabulous restaurant. Thanks again to Graham & your talented chef (his grandson) for such a wonderful experience. David & Donna (and Xavi)

All of the staff were so friendly and attentive - this place is a must visit when in Arran. This is a gem of a family-run restaurant where the only thing that surpasses the food is the service. Graham went out of his way to make us welcome and his knowledge of wine pairing introduced us to new choices that we would never have considered. The meal was both memorable and inventive. Local produce with modern flair. Very welcoming and great conversation. The connected bar has equally welcoming staff, Laura and the bar man were wonderful. It’s lively and the locals make it. As an indulgent treat for my wife's birthday we chose LTN in anticipation of a fine dining experience. We chose the a la carte menu and with the owner's recommendation were able to pair fine European wines by the glass with each course. The quality of local ingredients and the technical expertise of the head chef were of the highest standard. Presentation and blend of flavours and textures with each course merited a Michelin star. The quality of the meal and wine represented very good value for money.

Food was well prepared - portions small ( e.g., my ‘rack of lamb’ was 2 lollipop lamb chops for £36) but very flavorful. Service was okay - no flexibility on cocktail preparation - only what was printed on the cocktail menu. Bread was offered, and it was charged as an a la carte item. Several items on the menu that were not available. Dessert was very creative and tasted good, frankly that portion was better than the entree. Took a long while to get our check. In a nutshell, the food had good flavor but the experience was underwhelming for a not inexpensive restaurant. Signage on the exterior was small and not readily apparent.

We have been going as a couple and in recent years as a young family with grandparents but unfortunately due to our most recent experience will not be returning. Being a bit of a fussy eater I enjoyed the previous owner's varied menu and had a couple of favourites. You could say it was my fault for not looking at the menu prior to going into the restaurant but I’ll let you be the judge…having sat down it was clear that I would not eat any of the five options of main course. The waiter gave the children some options which aren’t available to view beforehand and once every else had ordered it came to me. I asked “I am a bit of a fussy eater so wondered if there is any chance I could have an adults size Sausage & Mash please?” and the response was “No”. Not ‘I am sorry sir but we can’t do that’ or some other polite reply, simply ‘No’. So despite having food available that they could have served me, they would rather see one customer have nothing to eat while the other 5 tuck in (to very expensive small portions). Not my idea of great customer service/satisfaction so we will not be going back unfortunately.

A friend and myself spend a 2 nights in Brodick, and as it happened was a Saturday night and we just arrived afternoon. As last option for the lack of table elsewhere we were advised to go to Bar&Braserie. The owner indeed is rude, but we were hungry and seated to wait a table. My friend chose from the menu a Cod I chose a risotto and a margarita for drink.Eventually the drinks arrived and I asked what was that in the glass and was told it a margarita. It was no more than a full glass with crush iced top up God knows with what and a straw. Dear God I never saw a margarita being served with a straw, turn out it was undrinkable.Food wise, twice the waiter come to our table and told my friend that the dish she chose would NOT have one of the elements of it, than on the second time he said there was not enough fish.It is a shame we did not have a phone to take a picture, on the plate was a 10cm piece of boiled fish and a smear of a pure as a garnish, we just could not believe our eyes. After we try drinks and food, and I mean tried, we gave up and asked for the bill. That was the best partWe were charged for a full bill, without consideration of the meal and drink that we were served, because they saw we hardly touch anythingI suggest my friend to talk to them and that person was the owner who assisted her, and a girl who was at the bar making drinks. Eventually the bill was reduced slightly, which I told her that was still not right. That was one in a lifetime to go to that place, disgusting behaviour, disgusting food/drink.I strongly recommend that bargirl to learn the make of a drink first.

IN June 2021 we booked for a wedding anniversary meal. I was more than pleased with my fish bouliibase but my husband who had a steak and our son who had sea bass were both disappointed with the amount. The steak and fish came plated and they waited for their vegetables to appear but the wait was in vail. Seems the one carrot and two green beens WERE the veg! Having had Christnas dinner there previously which was exceptional, was the reason we booked mid summer. So yes, the June meal was very disappointing and to be honest we left still hungry. However, December 2021 arrived and with limited choice of venues and having had a previous exceptional Christmas meal in the BB, we decided to chance it. So we booked for our Christmas lunch/dinner ( 3.pm ish) and was presented with a 7 course menu. Of course we mocked the '7 course' offering as the first couple of courses were just literally bites. However, the meal was exceptional and we were full even though we all decided on the cheeseboard. However, we do feel having seen cheeseboard's presented to others before, that we were a little short changed. We were the last of the diners and wonder if they ran out of produce as our portions were decidedly smaller. The staff were champing at the bit for their Christmas Dinner, which they well deserved having been extremely attentive and helpful throughout. So all together a mixed bag but cannot fault the food just tourist season quantities. As locals, yes, we will return and almost certainly for our 2022 Christmas meal but BB we just ask you to sort out the finer points, as a former chef, I do feel qualified to comment. Your staff are exceptional and also meal quality buy quantity for certain offeringsbeeds adjusting.

The team kindly seated us in the bar area so we could watch the rugby and offered a more traditional menu from the standard dinner menu. Unfortunately due to the ferry cancellations only 11 of us managed the trip over. This was not an issue to the guys who amended the booking at short notice. The food itself was superb, easily some of the best bar food I've had - my friends agreed. The atmosphere was brilliant too, both on the Saturday for the rugby and the Sunday (when we returned) for the football. The whole bar team including the chef were incredibly accommodating - we barely visited another bar on Arran due to how well we were treated. 100% worth visiting.

Dined here during our stay at Auchrannie resort and the food was simply fantastic! We had the pigeon and the salmon starter, and both had the seafood main and couldn’t fault anything about the food or the service. I don’t know where the people who think this is expensive normally go for dinner. This was a proper fine dining menu for half the price of a “fancy” restaurant. As a comparison, our meal here was cheaper by about 20% than the disappointing meal in the hotel the night before. This restaurant will be going on our itinerary for every trip to Arran from now on.

Having been regular visitors to Brodick Bar over many years of visiting Arran, we were, for the first time, sadly disappointed. On calling ahead to ask if our toddler could be accommodated with foods which was suited to his allergies, we were advised not. This, despite clear signage, indicating that allergens should be discussed with management. This did not daunt us as we elected to bring suitable food for him, ourselves. On arrival at the premises, which was not busy, service was slow and only a festive menu available, again despite an A La Carte menu being declared as available. We chose from the selection offered at 30 pounds for 2 courses, however when we tried to selct dessert, one dessert offering from an already unimaginative and limited choice of 4, was not available. One of our party elected to do without. When the bill arrived, we had been overcharged even at the price for two full courses each and we queried this while also pointing out that one of us only had a main course since the dessert menu was not all available. The bill was amended and at this point, the single main course charged at 24 pounds. We felt this a very unfair price for what was a very paltry offering. The whole experience was decidely average and seemed all about profit, not customer satisfaction. This had never been the case under the previous management and we will never be back.

We then tried the adjoining restaurant and the food was absolutely sublime. Family run business and all of the staff were excellent..very friendly and professional. The Head Chef is definitely a star in the making..young and extremely talented. The attention to detail and flavour combinations betray his years. I especially recommend the rabbit bridie, and also the venison.Back the next day for lunch and the pheasant was a stand out dish. Great pint and a log fire too..highly recommended!

Food was sublime as was the service. Without a doubt the best restaurant on Arran and up there with the best in Scotland. Had the rabbit bridie to start with. Taste sensation! Lovely family run restaurant. Can’t wait to go back

The quality of the food prepared by Timor, the young head chef and his team was outstanding. We both had the same starter, a delicious rabbit bridie and the same main, Gigha halibut beautifully prepared and presented. The restaurant has a fine range of cocktails and an excellent wine list. Service was friendly and unpretentious in very well-appointed, comfortable surroundings. We were booked on the late afternoon ferry next day so we decided without hesitation that there was only one place to go for lunch!

Excellent freshly made food food. Very few restaurants make all of their food but this is one. Family run restaurant with three generations working. Good wine list, lovely distressed wood tables and a beautiful mural on the wall by a local artist. Highly recommend the Brodick Brasserie if you want to treat yourself.

I hadn’t been to Brodick Bar in years and decided to give it a try since it was my birthday! We were NOT disappointed - the food was amazing. Attention to detail and flavours and quality of the food was sublime. Lovely service and fantastic value for money.Only £17.00 for a glorious 2 course - non rushed lunch for two …. A wonderful find, (or re- find ! ) We will definitely be back as soon as we can … I recommend the pigeon, smoked haddock on creamed leeks, everything we ate was delicious !

Visited way back in August and my apologies for the delay in reviewing :(As far as we could tell all health and safety guidelines complied with.Up a bit of a back street and not much from the outside but lovely place inside with excellent service from all we encountered. The food was (mostly) really nice. However, my starter of scallops, though well cooked were a bit pricey at just under £12.00 for 3 of the beauties. My bouillabaisse, while including a nice selection of fish, was a wee bit bland and more than a wee bit pricey at just under £28.00 !I have seen feedback on previous reviews which mention price where the BB has justified their prices as on a par with other Arran establishments. We ate out 5 times during our week and the BB was by far the most expensive so unsure exactly where else they are referring to.In summary a really nice place with excellent service. Regrettably a bit over my pay grade to visit again :(

I have dined in many fine restaurants but rarely have I been so delighted by the food served up to me. I had no idea that the chef was a prize-winner when I booked our table, but was very excited by the food when it arrived, learning of the chef’s eminence only on our way out of the restaurant. I would imagine that this still only 20 year old chef has far to go. It would be worth heading over as a foot passenger from Ardrossan on a ferry late in the afternoon, and back again on the last ferry just for the enjoyment of eating here. A shout out to our waiter, Lachlan, too, who served with an endearing charm. When I enquired about a certain marinade, Lachlan not only enquired of the chef, but brought back a hand-written note from him, which I will treasure.

Brodick’s fine dining restaurant with award winning young chef. Excellent food, well presented, relaxed atmosphere. Very friendly and attentive staff, especially our 16 year old waiter. There is a bar and a beer garden but we didn’t go there. Would eat here again if back in Brodick.

Wonderful restaurant. Great menu, food and service. This is essentially everyday fine dining. I would go as far to say if you visit Arran this is a MUST DO. The adjoining bar is perfect for pre/after diner drinks. We were staying in Lamlash and got the bus there and back. Of our 6 days in Scotland we would say this was out highlight.

We dined here on Tuesday 28/09/21. We were served by the lovely Sam who’s enthusiasm and charm was outstanding. The food was superb, a limited and more expensive menu than elsewhere but SO worth it. We dined elsewhere on Wednesday and wished we’d just gone back to The Brodick Bar. Thanks to Sam for being lovely and compliments to the chef for an awesome meal

We'd already booked a table for one evening of our stay in Brodick, and we enjoyed the food so much, we booked in for the following day as well whilst we were there! The 2nd day we were there, they were short staffed, so the staff were a little overworked, but everyone stayed very friendly & didn't try to rush anything, so I'd say they handled it very well.I would not hesitate to go back again, if we're back in Brodick.

Very limited choice and all items very expensive. Perhaps compatible with other restaurants in Brodick but other restaurants are expensive as well. Having said that the food was very nice. 2mains 2 drinks and 1 sweet at £71 won't have me rushing back.

The prices here are really over the top. We normally dont mind too much as we don't do much penny watching on holiday, but this was a bit much and priced us out of having starters. The food was nice but really just that....nice. Not worth the money though sadly. Plus side...the staff were very friendly and chatty and they accomodated some last minute changes to our booking when everywhere is struggling with staff shortages.

This is definitely the best place to go for food and drink in Arran. The food is a thing of perfection. Each dish my wife and I were served was delicious, credit to the chef. To add to this the staff were very friendly and the overall atmosphere was lovely. We will be visiting again when we are back in Arran.

What a fantastic meal. We asked for our compliments to be sent to the chef and then found out he was just 19 years of age! What a great future lies ahead of him and what a lovely guy he was.

My partner and I visited Brodick Bar and Brasserie and we were greeted and served by Alexander who was so wonderful. Very friendly person, great service. Laura from the bar was superb too, allowing us time to choose what drinks we wanted whilst also helping my partner choose. Our food was served with a smile and if we didn’t have to catch our ferry, we would’ve stayed for dessert.

Food was good..I couldn't fault it...but the service was slow...even at 8.45pm....the drinks were reasonably priced...but I can't say the same about the food....outrageously over priced for what you got...tiny portions....someone is making a lot of money from this restaurant...very much at the expense of the customers...we left hungry....wouldn't go back there again

Our favourite meal on Arran. Not cheap but good value for the quality. Full even on a wet Thursday so make sure you plan and book.Everything we ate was delicious and beautifully presented. Staff warm and friendly. Don't be put off by the exterior- step inside to a decor and experience easily the equal of anything in Edinburgh or Glasgow.

We went on our first evening on Arran so we didn't have a booking, but it was Thursday around 6.30 and they fitted us in. Its' a lovely place to eat - relaxed atmosphere, airy and modern. Friendly staff - from the owner who greeted us to our 16 year old server who was excellent, and a small menu - always a good sign. We don't have children but I was impressed that they had a children's menu along with the 'grown up' food. And the 'grown up' food was outstanding. We both had the scallops to start - then the fillet of beef and I had the roasted gnocchi. I'm not vegetarian but this was inspired - the flavours were so satisfying. We finished with the sticky toffee pudding and the elderflower parfait. the pudding was light, a fantastic caramel flavour, and a little chocolate surprise in the middle. The parfait was gorgeous - but the highlight for me was the strawberries and strawberry 'soup' that comes with it - I don't eat strawberries but I ate these. We had coffee and a drink in the beer garden of the bar. Can't recommend this place highly enough. Not cheap, but not Michelin prices, great value, and a very talented chef.

We ate at the Brasserie on our second night of honeymoon. We were greeted by the owner who made us feel so welcome and you could see really loved the place. We had scallops to start, the gnocchi and venison for mains and cheese boards to finish, everything was delicious. The owner came over and told us all about the cheeses which was greatly appreciated. Sam served us and was very attentive. We couldn't fault the service, atmosphere or food. Thank you so much!

Table booked on 24/12/2019 for 9 people to have lunch on 5th Jan 2019. We were told when ordering our drinks that they had only one can of diet coke!! Bad start. One hour after our arrival no food had been brought to the table. Eventually starters were served. Food average. When we asked for salad cream for a salad it was to be told that they didn't have any! I ordered fish and chips and was told they didn't have any fish ' only scampi. Attitude to customers was take it or leave it! I felt they had let us down and Dalry down. We will not go back there again.

For a start, I don’t understand why a commercial building built in the late 90’s doesn’t have a lift given my guess of the average age of their clientele. We went for tea and a scone with my mum who is recovering from getting a new knee. We were told that we could have a table in the foyer cos the restaurant wasn’t accessible. They then changed their mind and told us that we couldn’t order a tea and a scone because there was already 6 people in their restaurant and it would be at least 30 minutes before they could put in a new order. There were 4 people in the empty shop, two in the foyer and presumably numerous staff in the cafe. Between them they couldn’t get us a tea and a scone. We won’t be back.

Great food and fantastic friendly service in an idyllic location. My brother and I, had the Bagel Stack for a breakfast, great start to a holiday in Largs.
