The Broad Lane Chippy in Birmingham

I’m not sure if it was the time I visited, but the mini fish was rubber. Avoid the fish if you’re going.

Spent the last 48 hours with the worst food poisoning I’ve ever had. I had a fish and chips here and it’s made me very ill. I’m in so much pain and it’s put me off eating out again. I can’t stop 💩 water out my body. Never have I been ill like this & I definitely will be reporting this.

Good chippy and you get a lot of chips,more than most chip shops tbh.

Usually i would give this place top stars but after the service i have had is bloody disgusting I was standing there for 10minutes waiting to be served but they were to busy cleaning down at 8pm the staff just kept looking at me and then a customer comes to the door and they served him straight away.... what a bloody joke.... even the food is tasteless, uncooked, the chips look anemic and curry sauce just tastes like hot water

Overall quite expensive but the fish was cooked perfectly and the chips were good too.

Such a shame. This used to be a great local chippy. Service was poor & the food was disgusting. They made several mistakes with the order & I had to keep reiterating what I wanted. They just ignored me. Won't be returning.

Best chippy for miles I've been going there for 40 years and it's changed hands a few times but it's great.

Had a delivery driver struggled to find the address but it is hard to find so wasn't his fault

Dry good and pleased with the service and quality of food.

Fantastic F&C, lovely people, seems like their card-reader is temperamental so be prepared to use the cash machine next door!

The only thing is that I didn’t get the curry sauce that I ordered

The meat was tasty but was expecting salad on the kebab so was a bit disapointed

Took an age to come and was freezing cold...

have rarely had anything we don't enjoy.

Second time in a row had chips that were not cooked. Such a shame used to be our favourite local chip shop.

Always been a regular here but last few months it's gone downhill big time! Greasy, undercooked food at extortionate prices. Such a shame as used to be best chippy in area. I will be going elsewhere from now on!

I ordered 2 burgers with a large chips when I returned home. I had one burger which was process chicken and had a bad taste.The chips where soggy and undercooked. I had tried calling the shop for the missing burger although the was no answer. By the time I had realised my younger brother had already eaten his burger and his half of the chips. I thought the is no good in turning up to the shop with empty rappers so I have left going back. Furthermore for a que which consisted of 4 people I don't understand how I was in a 20 minute que. 👎🏿

Fish and chips special didnt taste as does normally. Chips were under cooked. All went in the bin. Chicken breast was nice

We used to love Broad Lane chippy but it’s really gone downhill. Today was the worst. Went to pick up chips on way home from work, got them home and they were pretty much raw. Inedible. So disappointing especially at those prices. They were fresh (had to wait for them to be cooked) but clearly needed a lot longer to cook. Won’t be buying from Broad Lane again.

OMG I can't remember the last time I had chips as good as this. I ordered a regular portion and there was loads plenty to share between 2 or 3 people.

Disgusting prices, portions sizes are a joke,and you only can have what is on display,the place is a total ripoff,won't let you use your card says it's always broken,tax fiddling, definitely don't recommend,day light robbery.

Wow. I've been a loyal customer here for years. Ordered today after a very long time. Awful. The greasiest fish I've ever had. Chips were like cardboard. I'll always support local businesses but unfortunately I'll never eat from here again. £12 for a fish a and chips that tasted atrocious.

Having lived nearby for 6 years we've seen how much the standard has dropped here. You used to be able to rely on it for a good meal, fresh fish and chicken, crunchy crisps. This was reflected in how busy it was. The last few times we've been we've had very pale soggy chips and any kebab has been dull and dry. We won't be giving it another try now sadly!

Food is pretty consistently good. Bit disappointed to discover the mushy peas were not on my fish and chips... It was busy so they forgot to put it on I guess.. no way to check when it's all wrapped up and too fat to go back for. Staff is friendly so oh well..

Yes good food at good prices by today's prices- it's light bright very clean and well run by friendly staff it is on the ground floor with ample parking and so wheelchair friendly and serve various dishes --so pay them a visit👍👍

Food was cold, neither the burger or kebab had salad on them (had no option to add) and the curry sauce had congealed. Wouldn't recommend.

Went here this evening after not being here for sometime. Very poor quality of food. Soggy fish, stale batter and bruised/hard chips.

Ordered food, said delivery time was between 18.55 and 19.15, no food turns up. Ask for an update to be told delivery is delayed. 19.30 the food turns up. Chips taste of the cardboard box they are in. Overall very disappointed with the service. Applied for some money back to be ignored. Used to live the food from here, no way near as good anymore. Disappointing

my order left your shop at 8.05pm you said driver is on the way 8.55 he turned up food was freezing I put in for a refund you said it will be sorted 5 days later nothing has been done over £30 the order was for now nobody will speak with me regarding this I want it sorted

The chips were not quite hot also there were quick a few blackish chips clearly the potatoes weren't so great. Normally the chips are great so I was a bit disappointed.
