Worst customer service..my payment got deducted 2 times ..and when i called she became aggressive and hang up and now even I have proof for purchase that assistant manager is not able to process refund or ready to provide any assistant. Don't visit that place Worst experience ever I had in Oxford. I want solution asap.

I went there a week ago and there was some problem in their till and my money was deducted twice still they didn't receive and then she took me to another till where it worked, this was happening with other customers as well. And then for the deducted money I was told that I don't need to worry it would be back in 1 day and then next day when it was not there I called them and they were like it can take 3 days and I called then several times and then when finally I went there they were like we do not have any information about this so we cannot refund your money. The assistant manger was so rude I was ready to show her the proof of deducted money but still she didn't want to see and said we were not informed about it and we do not have a proof we cannot refund. This is ridiculous ....I would recommend not to go this shirty place they are fraud.

The manager and staff always give 100 per cent. Had a wonderful time with Christmas with Santa breakfast. 16 of us enjoyed breakfast and all the children enjoyed seeing santa.

I usually enjoy going to the Britannia and choose it as my top local pub. However the service there is outright rude. I walked in with a group just before mid day, just for a round of soft drinks. The lady at the bar with glasses stared at each of us as we entered very rudely and then before we could place the order shouted at us that food would not be served until mid day. She did not care to find out that we were only there for drinks. She then proceeded to take our order without a word to us and with great hostility in her manner. There was not a polite word just hostile stares from her until we left. This was totally unwarranted and began right from us walking into the door. My institution often visits the Britannina for events providing a great customer base. I will be recommending that we no longer patronize this venue.

We went to the Britannia Inn for a birthday meal after another place cancelled our booking a few hours before the meal. We are very glad this happened as the atmosphere is great here and we received very friendly service from Hayley and Sharon. They went above and beyond to make sure our meal went well. Even when there was an issue with the thermostat meaning they couldn't turn the heating on in the area we were sat in, Hayley and Sharon made sure to move us close to the open fire when a table became free. We had a range of different dishes among our group, all of which were tasty and presented nicely. Thank you Hayley and Sharon for making our time at the Britannia Inn pleasant, and we hope you have found the thermostat! We will defintely be returning for other family occasions in the future.

Wonderful experience from start to finish particularly from the lovely Manager Faye who made us feel extremely welcome from the beginning will definitely be recommending this pub to all my friends and family.

Well kept guest ales, comfy, clean, upmarket relative to nearby other sports pubs. Friendly staff. I've enjoyed eating here several times - good for groups and a birthday do in function room was lovely.

Cintia was so kind and helpful in every respect.The coffee was superb and the meal quite delicious. What a discovery to have found the Britannia pub in Headington !

Faye was absolutely lovely, and Esme takes great care of the tables :) awesome place for group events!

Very tasty food but slow service.

Disappointing Meal – Wouldn’t Recommend We ordered two turkey roast dinners and a beef burger, and everything was below standard. The roast was cold and soggy, the vegetables were somehow both burnt and still hard, and the burger had a strange smell and tasted disgusting. As if it had all come straight out the microwave and was inedible and didn’t receive a check back at any point. Definitely not worth the money.

I have been here several times and the food isn't that good and can take a while to arrive. The atmosphere itself is fine and the drink selection is okay, but I'd not go there for food.

Food took well over an hour to come. Had to send steak straight back as cold. Salad hot. Milk with tea was off. Because you pay when you order, it is impossible to refuse to pay for poor food!

Quite a nice breakfast, but expensive. Cannot understand why a cuppa is not incuded in the price, an extra £2.50. Spoilt the experience.

Myself and 5 friends have been going to Britannia for many years for a Christmas meal, every year the food quality, quantity and friendliness of staff are good but this year the pub decor has been updated and the food and service was excellent. Would highly recommend.

Overall, the Britannia Inn is a great place to go for a pint and a meal. It is a traditional British pub with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food is good, the beer is excellent, and the staff are friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend the Britannia Inn to anyone looking for a good pub experience in Oxford.

We had a turkey Sunday dinner. We didn’t have to wait too long for our food,. It was hot, plentiful and delicious. Our server Charlotte was very attentive. A good experience.

Well done Britannia In 👏 just got my letter from dcbl for unpaid parking charge for 155£ ... as your customer all I can say is thank you for your hospitality ! Maybe you should tell your customers before they eat, that if they want to park their cars on your car park and enjoy fish and chips they have to pay extra, OR they can go to the restaurant who care about customers and if you decided to bring your family for dinner ITS FREE OF CHARGE.

Typically English pub where you feel good, friendly and very friendly. Good food, we'll go back!

My husband and I are 'regular' visitors to The Britannia. Due to being on holiday and the pub undergoing a refurbishment, Friday - 27 September was our first visit in 3 weeks. On first impressions, the refurb. looks good, it was most definitely required, however, it is now 'very dark' inside. Also, and this may be due to a 'work in progress' shall we call it, there were far too many tables/chairs pushed close together. The area we usually sit used to have 3 tables whereas on Friday there were 4 tables which considering how 'dark' the pub now is and the tables/chairs pushed up close together, it actually felt quite claustrophic, so much so, we ended up having to move tables but, the table we moved to had about 7 chairs around it and another table very close by. In the area to which we moved there used to be just one table, a further table/chairs has now been added so on Friday there were 2. It's too small for the amount of tables and chairs they have tried to push in. As I say, the pub only re-opened on Thursday 26 September 2024 therefore, it may have been a rush trying to get everything finished for the opening and maybe in time they may re-visit the issue with the tables/chairs. Also, the pub was very 'cold' from a temperature point of view. Because it is a listed building, the windows hadn't been touched but, what I thought they may have been able to do is double glaze the windows. By doing this the pub would have been warmer and would save on fuel bills so, as I say, looks fresher but, too dark, too much furniture and cold especially sitting close to where the front windows are.

Brittania Inn has now been refurbished new carpets, walls , and a fresh paint job. Toilets refurbished mens is 10 times better, and bar is now lit up with bottles on display and in order, my only issues is the new high chairs and tables are not disabled or elderly friendly and the use of reserved chalk boards stopping people from sitting down walked in at 4pm and 5 tables out of action for people coming in at 5.30pm so people could not sit down. It's like being on holiday and people putting towels on sun loungers.

Busy when I visited, everything was good. Has a car park, well placed.

Went here for a meal with my volunteers. We had a great time and the service was exceptional. Sharon was very attentive and help to ensure we had a great time.

Fae the manger Lewis server Food here was amazing. Came in at 7:45 (no booking) 4 adults and 1 child. Fae (manager) got us seated quickly and was very polite and friendly and even reminded us to put our car registration in for free parking. Was super easy to order online and food that was delivered by Lewis (server) was here super quickly. All the plates was finished and the food was super good. Can’t fault these guys for anything. Food was great customer service was great. If I didn’t live over 100 miles away this would be my go to pub. Next time I’m back in Oxford I’ll be here!

In general the food is always good. I would say improving portion sizes, eg if you get a roast it's a big plate of food but ordering the chicken and avo salad is tiny in comparison. I appreciate it's not like for like but the salad was a bit more than a side salad. Hope that makes sense. Now I wish I had photos to share but didn't take any.

Paid for an hour's parking at the Britannia Inn and got back slightly later than expected. Would have been happy to pay the extra. Have spent last 3 months receiving threatening letters and so on about £100 parking charge. Tried to pay online without success multiple times. It's just such a headache. For this reason alone, I'd never go there again. Typical rip-off Britain scenario.

I'm updating my 2019 review to 1star and would give 0 if possible. The parking arrangements at this site are ludicrous. You have lost a customer, albeit an infrequent one, due to Eurocar parks. I'm also planning to list this location as disability unfriendly whenever and wherever I can.

Best quality restaurant/pub in our area at reasonable prices.
