Student cocktail bar, friendly staff decent drinks

My friends and I had a great time here. GREAT rum cocktails and atmosphere. Loved the music as well.

We have been here in the past and not had a bad experience. However, this time it was truly dreadful and we'll never go back. The proprietors were having a laugh and a joke with their 'friends' at the bar and we were made to feel we were intruding when we went to order. My husband wanted the double rack of ribs. When they came they had not been marinaded properly and one wide was not cooked through. He didn't finish them. I ordered the burrito which was supposed to come with all sorts of sides included. What I got was a bare wrap - nothing else and the filling was 99% rice and 1% meat. It was just terrible. I wanted to complain but my husband just wanted to leave so we did.

We've been coming to Falmouth for years and this was the worst meal we have ever had. My Husband har the full rack of ribs. They were only luke warm, the serving plate was cold, and they weren't cooked properly. He left half of them. I had the beef burrito which was supposed to come with all sorts of things. What I got was two wraps, also not hot, full of rice, a few kidney beans, a bit of chilli and a microscopic amount of meat. They forgot our drinks, had to chase them. They had way too much lime in and we got a pitcher with two straws! They never came to ask if everything was OK. When my husband went to pay he complained and they couldn't have cared less. We've eaten here in the past and been very happy, but we'll never come back and I'd advise anybody reading this not to either

Delicious cocktails, great service and good atmosphere.

Not great … first experience and overly priced cocktails which were ok but not worth cost. Food was average - burger was enjoyed, pizza was enjoyed, ribs were grissly and chips were cold had send back. Burritos nice but one hot and one cold but small portions not filled me up. Chips tasted like microwave chips you get. Staff pointed us to table and didn’t explain if it’s table service or bar - went bar and you get served and pay there but they also have bar stalls people drink at which makes it very unorganised, struggle hear and poor layout. Wouldn’t rush back here again.

On a quiet Thursday myself and 7 other friends went to the Brig for drinks which are on the pricier side of Falmouth (£9-10 for a cocktail!). When we entered the music was really lively with sea shantys, after ordering the music changes to dull somber tunes I asked if this could be changed and met with rude arrogant comments by Will about not listening to a women, mocking that I only like Taylor Swift, outdated sexist remarks followed by 'well she won't remember this in the morning'. We left shortly after which is a shame as the drinks are really nice. Also a comment that the bathrooms were quiet dirty but it did seem everything was being managed by one guy.

Find this place on a recent birthday run ashore in Falmouth!! 🏴‍☠️🤙 Very welcoming staff, good selection of rums, and really well constructed cocktails! 👌

A great dinner at The Brig on Saturday night. We had the brisket and seafood platter accompanied by Mac n cheese. All delicious. They also have a nice selection of cocktails and mocktails quick friendly service

I saw the Brigg advertised on Facebook, the food looked amazing as so did the cocktails and the reviews very good, so I decided to have this venue for my birthday celebration along with friends. I found the menu very sparce, I decided to have the seafood platter, which was very nice, but told there was no bread available as stated on the menu it was only 6.30pm so why no bread so early evening there was only 6 of us booked in and I found my platter a mussel overload to compensate for no bread, everybody's was nice but I must say I was totally disappointed, the staff were very friendly.

Spent new years evening here great food was not left wanting more very filling ribs are to die for Staff excellent could not do enough for you Will be going back lots of times

Heard some good music, saw a sign for rum and went in. The bar has a fantastic feel, the owner is friendly and much much more knowledgeable than your average bar tender, geniuine passion and interest. I didn't eat there but when I saw the generous portions others were getting I was disappointed I had already eaten! Highly recommended. Go to the brig

We popped in for a couple of cocktails lastnight and were more than happy we chose this place. Although it’s under new management, you couldn’t fault a single thing. It was cozy, a lovely atmosphere and the man behind the bar gave amazing service alongside tasty drinks. We will be back!

We've loved going to The Brig for many years now and was really glad we managed to get in one of the nights of its previous ownership. The food and drinks have always been high standard but it has been the service that kept us coming back. We have tried to book in again recently but found it shut, still waiting for reopening under its new owners. We hope it will manage to keep the same high standard as before 🤞🤞

We had originally booked for food and drinks here but were informed on the day that the chef was ill so there would be no food service. This did not bother us so we kept our table just for some drinks before a meal elsewhere. The lady working there (didn't get her name) that informed us earlier in the day about our booking, apologised and felt so bad that we got some free rum! She was so lovely and accommodating. This bar is definitely a bit of us, lots! of rum to choose from and plenty of cocktails. We ended up coming back after our meal elsewhere for more drinks.

Had an amazing time at the Brig - staff were lovely and there is an incredible and delectable selection of rums. Fantastic cocktails, including some alcohol free ones, and to soak it all up some brilliant bbq food. Would recommend.

What a fantastic night we had at the Brig. Met with friends on a Friday night (the place was packed!) And received amazing service. Ash the owner was so friendly, bubbly and paid amazing attention to us even though she was run off her feet! Drinks were insanely delicious - highly recommend their plain sailing cocktail - and the food was next level dynamite. Been there a few times now and it never ever disappoints. Such a wonderful place with a fantastic atmosphere! Make this a must visit!!!

We visited last night (Saturday) and wow what a unique experience. We had the ultimate platter and the food was perfect, ribs fell off the bone, chicken had so much flavour and crispy hand cut chips. The staff were very friendly and the owner couldn’t be more attentive. If your in Falmouth pay them a visit even if it’s just for one of the many cocktails they do.

One of the worst dining experiences ever. Mojito was a watery lime cordial, not even a hunt of Rum or sugar syrup. Sharing platter was a rancid re-heat - awful. Had to leave the lot through fear of food poisoning. All theme and no substance - seems the whole place is operated by students ? Have contacted via email, as per your request below - still awaiting reply ?

It's okay, lots of different bottles of rum, but lots are empty. Yes, some are difficult to get hold of, but plenty are available easily on amazon etc.

Th food and atmosphere is totally amazing, the staff and management have the business run to perfection. highly recommended.

We chose this place after looking at a few other places in Falmouth and glad we did! So cool! If you like cocktails you'll enjoy this place as it has a great cocktail menu that caters for all tastes. We also had the sharing platter which was fantastic and filled us both up after we were starving. The barman was super friendly and offered variations on our cocktails if we didn't like them, but there was no issue there as they were ace.Highly recommended.

Such a brilliant little restaurant. Recommend booking as it’s quite small. Fantastic atmosphere and staff are lovely, cocktails are delicious and food is excellent. Service was quick and efficient. Barman is a great DJ ;)

A quaint little restaurant in Falmouth. Offers a nice BBQ style menu alongside a large and a larger and varied cocktail menu. Quick service although numerous items were unavailable on the day of our visit. It is relatively small so would recommend booking in advance.

There was no wine, no meals we asked for, and the food took ages to come and the meals were brought out at different times. The staff were not attentive, sat there for an age before we even saw anyone. Would not go again

What an amazing little venue!!!! So many places promise great BBQ food and struggle to deliver, this place on the other hand lived up to expectations. We had the platters, and the food was amazing. The brisket was cooked perfectly, and the ribs melted in your mouth. The chef came out to check on us and the guy and girl serving us were spot on. Can’t recommend enough!!

This is an interesting venue. We chose it deliberately because it looked a bit different. It is, as the name suggests, a basement venue with no windows. Being a rum bar it was decorated along that theme.It took a while after placing our order for our drinks to come, and despite the menu, there was only one choice of white wine and one red. Not a problem because it is clearly focussed on rum, but if you want wine the choice was limited. I suspect this is more to do with availability as other venues also seemed to be lacking in certain lines, and we do have a lorry driver shortage!The food was fine. Our waitress was lovely, chatty and charming.We did decide not to linger once we’d eaten as it seemed to fill up with customers coming only to drink, and in such a small space with no windows, there were too many people in there for our liking.It’s an intriguing venue, the food was fine but not one for a return visit from us.

Had a really nice few hours in here, great staff with good knowledge of drinks particularly Rum , the drinks were perfect and the meals we had were nice and plentiful especially the Ultimate Platter .Will definitely pay a visit again when next in town.

When my boyfriend says he fancies ribs for tea, this is the exact kind of place I look for. We had a cracking meal here after they managed to find us a table last minute. He got his ribs which he said were great and we shared a seafood platter - the prawn skewers were fantastic! Cocktails were good too. Worth a visit if you’re a meaty or a veggie.

Was recommended to dine here, quirky little place, great cocktails and food was good, we ordered a sharer plenty for 2. If you want something a little different it is a great little spot. Very hot as its underground so be prepared with your outfit!

Took two teenage boys here for a really delicous meal. We tried the cocktails which were fabulous, but the overall friendliness of the staff during what must have been such a trying few months really stood out to us. Highly recommended

Great experience, the female member of staff was very attentative and helped us choose the rum. I had one of the mixed platters which was a good size and decent enough meat but my only criticism would be hold back on the BBQ sauce, all my meats were absolutely dripping in it, less is more in this instance.

Brilliant food drink and staff highly recommended

From the moment we walked in we felt like we were at home, the service from Josh & Sid was nothing less than impeccable (Josh even passed the Caipirinha test with flying colours). When it came to the food Chef was also head and shoulders above our expectations, we went for a Davy Jones Platter between 2 and every element was justified on the platter and added a new level of intensity and interest. The Mussels deserve special mention as the liquor the were served with was heavenly.All in all a delightful first post lockdown foray into the world of dining out.Much love and respect to the Ash & the team, I highly recommend the Brig.

Typically speaking, back when you were allowed out, The Brig was always a stop on my journey through Fal. The cocktails are definitely pricey but worth every penny. Good luck making it back up the stairs after a few spiced zombies.But...And it's a big but...The food has never been the reason for me to visit The Brig. During the lockdown, I tried to support local businesses, so myself and my family decided to order some food from there.The quality of the food is always good, but some of the portion sizes leave a LOT to be desired. My mum ordered the Lamb Shoulder and I honestly thought the container it came in was the SAUCE for it. For the price that I paid for it, I could have got half a lamb.It's such a shame because I'm not expecting a giant feast, but when money is tight, I expected my money to go a little further than how it did...Can't wait to have be back there, but this has left a bad taste.

This is our 2nd visit to The Brig and it certainly won't be our last! Fantastic food and Ash is a great host. The other staff are super friendly and food is excellent. My daughter certainly enjoyed her dragon boat cocktails!! Burgers are excellent and the blue cheese mac and cheese is amazing.Will hopefully be back very soon!

What a great find! We discovered this tucked-away bar / restaurant almost by chance, but it’s a ton of fun. It’s decorated like the inside of an old ship and has a great cocktail menu (especially brilliant if you like rum!), as well as some seriously filling platters, burgers, chicken wings, nacho plates etc. The chips are huge and excellent, the prices very reasonable and we had probably the most friendly and efficient waiter in Cornwall! We think his name was Josh, so look out for him! We will definitely come back here.

My wife and I came down to Falmouth for our honeymoon and decided to eat here on our last night.It was the best end we could have possibly asked for! The food was absolutely delicious - The Ultimate Platter - along with 3 cocktails. The Bar Manager was incredibly helpful despite being beset with all the problems that come with the Internet going down, even calling us beforehand to ask for us to pay in cash. Seriously visit this brilliant Gem of Falmouth. We certainly will again!

I emailed them earlier on in the day to arrange a meal for 2 with delivery. The meal arrived on time in a remote location in Falmouth with no problems at all. If we lived in Falmouth I'd use these guys all of the time! Great stuff

This is the 3rd time I have come here isand the first time for food.I love coming here as the atmosphere is excellent. Music, decor and staff etc.They have a fantastic selection of rum that the bar staff are happy to discuss their knowledge to you.Now for the food, I had the prawns and sweet potato fries, food was excellent quality and very tasty. The food didn't take too long to come out, in the meantime you can sample the bar! If you like rum and going to somewhere a bit different this is your place!

We recently visited for the first time and was blown away. There was so much character in the venue and the style and atmosphere were so well kept with the theme. The staff were extremely accommodating and the food (despite being a large group) came out really quickly. We felt extremely comfortable going into the venue and enjoyed being around a table where we could all communicate easy within close proximity to the bar. We need to praise the bar staff here as they were brilliant all night and by the end of the evening had memorised our choices of drinks! The range of drinks is fantastic (so many rums!! But great local ales and cocktails etc for those who prefer). We will definitely be returning and looking forward to eating there again! It’s locations like this that make Falmouth the high street envy of Cornwall *****

Called in last night ,fab young man behind the bar .He made the best cocktails ever .Place spotless. Oticed a change in the menus last year they were chained to the table .People pinched them ? Why ,do they not think of the owner who has to pay to replace them .Food as usua, excellent Will be back

Really fun place for a cocktail all handmade in front of you it has loads of choice they also do food but we didn’t eat so can’t comment. Staff friendly and knowledgeable about everything they serve highly recommended to anyone on a night out!

Last night my daughter and I went to the brick what a fascinating place a considerable amount of different rums had a very interesting menu. We both enjoy the experience I would definitely go back.
