We are locals to the area, staff are friendly. We ordered breakfast (pancakes and 2 portions of toast) took 40 minutes and when it came it 1 portion of toast was burnt, pancakes were burnt on one side and 1 portion of toast wasn’t even toasted. Very disappointing as the pancakes had been flipped over so the chef must had known. Very unhappy as it is a lovely location.

Had a great experience here. The staff were super friendly and helpful to a party which included a wheelchair user and a dog. We managed to negotiate the entrance to sit in the sheltered outside seating area overlooking the beach. The staff helpfully rearranged the table a little to make us more comfortable with the wheelchair. Food is super high quality. Not cafe food but good restaurant quality food. They also filled specific requests regarding the food perfectly without drama. Such a great spot to overlook the beach in a comfortable environment. The patrons were all super friendly too.

Went and had a full English breakfast for the first time since being taken over by Healys , and was disappointed in the size and quality of, the toast was warm bread , beans were cold and I could count them, bacon was under cooked the hash browns well if that what they call it was the size of a 50p piece all this came long time after my tea was served so was cold at the time I ate this breakfast for £17 I found this very expensive for the size and quality , I’ve had better at Witherspoons However the staff was friendly

We stopped by for a quick lunch on a reasonably sunny weekday. Unfortunately the wrong menu had been left on the table so we didn’t realise certain menu items were available for lunch. We ordered at the bar quickly, and our drinks arrived shortly after - followed by our food - very quick service! Great presentation and good quality food. The mussels in garlic and wine were great… lovely tasting, but lacked salt/seasoning. The chicken Caesar salad looked incredible when it arrived, but was unfortunately incredibly under seasoned (the chicken) and had barely any dressing on the salad, so we were quite disappointed with this item. On the whole, a nice lunch, but definitely needed more salt (and this is coming from somebody who doesn’t ever add salt or like things salty 😅).

We wandered in at about 7pm on a Saturday evening and were lucky to get a table for 2 as we hadn't booked. The waitress did say we might have a bit of a wait as they were very busy, however they settled us down with drinks and menus and we didn't seem to wait too long for our food. The atmosphere was nice and friendly, with a mixture of families and young couples. The food was amazing!. We decided to be adventurous so had aubergine in tempura batter with lemon and ginger lentils, and gnocchi with sage and truffle oil. Both dishes were so tasty and filling! We will definitely be back next time we are in the area. Great service from the waiting staff.

Did the Cafe Staff not didn’t notice EVERYONE wearing coats? The cold wind is blowing in through the front door that’s constantly opening. This should be remedied by having a blowed hot air system at the entrance just like many shops and stores i have visited.

I honestly can't believe I've given this cafe another chance and it's failed miserably AGAIN. I'm local and love to spend a lot of time on the beach so when my son suggested breakfast here I was reluctant but thought give it another go. The coffee is always cold without fail so when I ordered breakfast I said to the waitress it's always cold could we please have it piping hot. Yes yes she said I'll make sure of it. Guess what? When they brought the coffee to the table the waiter couldn't figure out which was decaff and was trying to guess??? The coffee was so cold I could stick my finger in it. Honestly I do not know what the problem is with serving a cold latte! The breakfast was nice and well cooked but overpriced for what you received. The door opening constantly is absolutely freezing blowing inside and people still slide open the other outside door to go in even though there is a note on the door saying please go around. Walk on to The Falmouth Hotel up the road which is currently being refurbished (looking amazing!) beautiful setting and HOT COFFEE!! We won't be visiting Gylly Cafe ever again.

Disappointing breakfast. Bacon scarcely cooked, sausage on the other hand burnt. Scrambled egg watery. Not sure what's going on here? Are you using someone to do the cooking with little experience. If you are going to charge £15 for this you need to sort it out. I did say something to the person who collected our plates but she did not show much interest. My friends from outside Cornwall were dumbfounded at the price and the poor quality.

I have enjoyed socialising and eating in and taking out food and drink from here on a number of occasions. The staff are friendly and professional and create an inviting atmosphere for their customers. I recently ordered a coffee which was of top standard and beautifully presented. More recently, I tucked into a deliciously fresh fish and chips meal and ate it with the beautiful sea-view to accompany. The food was also of top-standard and I felt very pleased with the service. One unfortunate qualm I have is that there is no Wi-Fi service and for Giffgaff, very weak phone signal for data access, also. If you like the idea of disconnecting from the online world and want to be absorbed into the true beauty that Gylly Beach has to offer, though, then this is no problem! Thanks for your service, Gylly Beach Cafe. I hope to return in the future.

As a regular visitor to Gylly, I was very disappointed in the change in menu and increase in price. There is no longer a vegetarian full breakfast option, only a vegan option which is the same price (£15!) as the meat one and doesn't have any of the meat or eggs, the only thing it has that the meat breakfast doesn't is some bland wilted spinach... and if you want to add eggs it's £2.50 extra! Incredibly overpriced for no eggs, no toast, tinned baked beans, one tomato, a handful of button mushrooms, unseasoned spinach and what appear to be two freezer sausages and hasbrowns. Will not be ordering this again, which is a shame as the veggie breakfast at Gylly is usually a staple for any of my Falmouth visits. Also very bizarre not to have toast on either full breakfast option, the first I've ever come across that! Staff were very friendly though, it's not their fault!

One wet and windy Sunday morning, it was unsurprisingly quiet, which I liked. They were rushed off their feet only the day before, as weather is a large contributory factor in the volume of people. The young lady taking and serving orders was very nice. They had no food on the menu available, only pastries, which I had no issue with. I chose a pain au chocolate and a caramel latte, both of which were good. Seating was on the beach, on the classic wooden table/bench combo, albeit wet from the rain!

Disappointing again. This was my 2nd time here & the first time there was an issue with drinks not turning up & being charged for something we never ordered. This time I ordered a vegetarian sausage & mushroom bap and a mocha. The mocha was luke warm & really really sweet. I took a bite of my breakfast bap & immediately knew the sausage was real meat. I took it back & they cooked me another one. The waiter apologised but that much seeing as it was quite a serious issue. I would have at least thought they would have taken it off the bill. My daughter had the children's breakfast & found a long hair in her beans. Really not acceptable. Will not be returning which is a real shame as it is prime location.

When we asked to speak to a manager he didn’t show up, so after about 10 mins we went to speak to the nice lady who served us to ask for a refund. Then the manager came to us and said “well I was coming but you guys walked away and I was busy” No apology, just snarky rudeness. All it would have taken was some honest communication and an apology. This place has gone down hill. Avoid at all cost

Not up to usual standard. Have been going here for years and had family visiting this weekend so thought we'd take them to one of our favourites. 4 identical full cornish breakfasts ordered. After a long wait, 2 came without the hash browns and one without hogs pudding. When pointed out, the breakfasts were taken away for the additional items to be added, making them a little cold. As we started eating it was clear that the hogs pudding and mushrooms were undercooked and the toast only toasted on one side. Having guests, we didn't want to talk to a member of staff a second time. The staff were nice, the location is as good as ever but the catering was not what we've come to expect.

Had Scallops for starter on a thin slice of overdone Hogs pudding. 3 small scallops, with no flavour. Ok, if a bit underwhelming. Main for 3 people was The Hake on crab risotto. Incredibly bland, watery risotto that appeared not to have been seasoned. Flavourless. Hake was of decent size and cooked well but with such a mild flavour really needed the risotto to shine. Others had steak which was cooked well. To be fair the chips were excellent. I’m only reviewing my food and experience. Hopefully the other dishes were of a higher standard. The only restaurant in town where I felt unwelcomed. We had made a reservation for dinner for two. When we reached the staff took us to a table which was supposed to be reserved for us, but the reserved table only had one chair and it was in a tight corner where the chair barely fit with the table. Now I understand, we booked at the last moment but He didn't have a hit of embarrassment offering such a table to a customer. He could have easily told us that, unfortunately we don't have tables left and we could wait for a self service table outside once it's free, which we eventually did ourselves but he was very weirdly rude and ignorant. Then when we ordered, I gave the table number and the server went and gave our food to another table and we got it cold because of that but still not half bad, I was already annoyed about the service at the beginning, so we just decided to leave. Scallops and Specials menu: Risotto with the catch of the the day, simply amazing would have been better if it was warm.

I heard him talking to his staff, he treats them as though they are poo on the bottom of his shoe. He will work for 10 minutes, and think that enough, then he will disappear. To make this place better, start with ridding yourself of such a waste of space.

A return visit for Sunday lunch on my second trip to Falmouth this year. The dining area is quite cramped compared to how it used to be before the pub's focus changed to holiday accomodation, which is a pity. However, the food is excellent. Partner and I had crab fritters for starters, followed by a traditional roast beef dinner with all the trimmings. For anyone in Falmouth looking for a decent Sunday lunch, I'd recommend.

Very tasty chippie, freshly cooked and a good portion of fish as well as chips. Very friendly staff and food still hot and fresh when we got back to our digs.

We used this bar previously & loved it - the setting, the rum, the staff. However, when in Falmouth last year, it looked terminally closed. We'll be in Falmouth again soon so I've just tried a telephone call but no reply. Beginning to feel like it's still not up & running - which will be a shame. Due to our last proper / successful visit & chat with owner, I've got seriously into spiced rums & have a home selection probably in excess of most pubs. It's too good a venue to just fail....... Mick
