The hotel is very pretty, the bed comfortable and the restaurant has vegetarian options. I really enjoyed my stay there.

Location bedroom food and staff were perfect, and my wife and I had an amazing weekend. Steven, the head chef, and his staff were amazing. Photo of my empty plate as I didn't want to waste time talking Photos. Food 💯

We stayed for 1 night and the hotel is lovely the food is also really good however there is no air con in the room and our room was right next to the road which is constant use not a great night sleep so wouldn’t go back to stay.

We stayed for 2 nights gorgeous little village sorry to say we had to change rooms 3 times due to the shower in the first room not working ,too be changed to another room, which was disgusting and shower not working again , 3rd room was offered to us by a member of staff, which looked a lot better than the others but still very tired looking ,we flushed the toilet in the onsuit and it sounded as if there was a train in the room with us for about a minute, if we turned on a tap the same thing happened ,also if you stood on a certain spot in the bathroom again it.would happen. By this time, I was laughing as it had been a disaster .it went off a few times though the night also .could not wait to leave to come back home . Rooms were very hot and stuffy. I was very disappointed as we went for a relaxing break away from it all .when you're paying nearly £200.00 a night, you expect to have a comfortable stay .needs a good clean and redecorating, very tired looking. Staff were very helpful and friendly. i felt sorry for them with the number of complaints they must have to deal with on a daily basis .

Good location. The hotel is old and retains its charm for that reason. The room is a good size, but it is a little dark and the cleanliness leaves something to be desired. The service is a little confusing, as the same person from the lobby serves the restaurant.

Decided to try somewhere different for Sunday Lunch and found this in a Manchester Confidential guide. A 30 minute drive and we arrived - the car park was busy with only a few spaces left. Not sure I like the interior of the bar and restaurant area, not like a traditional pub, rather modern but each to their own. What I felt the place lacked in character, it definitely made up for with the Beef roast. Two very healthy slices of beef, nicely pink, with roast potatoes, carrot and parsnip along with red cabbage and then a bowl of green beans, mange tout and white cabbage to share - we also ordered a cauliflower cheese to share. The Yorkshire puddings looked good and were. We were also given jug with extra gravy in, which we appreciated. Certainly one of the most enjoyable roasts I've had for a long time. Both go us cleared our plates. Can't comment on the accommodation as we didn't stay there.

A trip of two parts. A beautiful pub in a lovely setting. Without doubt the staff make the venue a great place to spend some time. Nothing is too much trouble. The service is superb (a special mention for Syd who was fantastic) and the food was consistently very good from breakfast through to dinner. Well-cooked, hot and tasty. The rooms were clean and spacious, but are tired and poorly maintained. However, the excellent staff and food outweigh the disappointment of the rooms, and they are aware of the need for updating in this area. Would we stay again? Definitely. Overall a lovely couple of days in Cheshire...

Very enjoyable and relaxing stay at the bridge. Staff very welcoming and friendly. The room was okay, but very relaxing listening to the river Bollin flowing outside the window. Food was excellent, fresh, tasty and great amount of food. The service was perfect, special thanks to Karan. The full English breakfast was perfect In the morning. Will definitely return in the future.

Spent two nights here recently, and got an excellent rate. The room was immaculate, and the rush of the near-flooding river Bollin was almost soothing... had dinner in the restaurant first night, and the food was very good. Service by all the staff is cheerful and efficient. If they'd had marmite at breakfast, I'd have given them five and a half stars...Update a year later: don't under any circumstances stay in rooms 22 -27, unless you like the darkest Hotel room you'll ever encounter. Black walls and ceilings, lights that struggle to pierce the darkness. We could only stand it one night, but fortunately they changed us readily for the second night. Otherwise it's as good as ever! Still no marmite.... here for a party, well looked after, hope this hotel stays open...

Fantastic Sunday dinner and breakfast, Staff are brilliant and friendly to dogs. The room was very disappointing. The mattress needs replacing, toilet flush hardly works and the sink kept getting blocked in room 18.

i’ve never walked out of hotel before but the standard of my room was the worst i’ve ever had the misfortune to experience, including those grubby stag trips. When I explained ver politely to reception I would not be staying in that room her reply was fine and she bid me goodbye . No wonder Flat Cap is in Administration

If you're a regular business hotel user and familiar with Premier Inn, dont book this one. Go and stay at the Holiday Inn by the train station in town, as this place is dreadful in comparison. The rooms are tired, as in 80s tired, the staff are not bothered about keeping good housekeeping. Oh, and if you want breakfast before you're setting off in the morning, then don't expect anything before 7:15, or as reception happily commented, theyre never ready until 7:30. Dreadful place.
