Peaceful after 5.30pm just what I need a stress free cup of tea.

Iced coffee was nice. Not enough caramel in my husbands. Was tidy but lacked atmosphere!

A branch of the familiar well-known coffee shop, nicely situated on the square in Macclesfield and with a part-covered terrace for fresh air coffee drinking even when it's slightly raining.

Great cup of Colombian coffee. Service is a little slow, but it's a nice environment. Outside seating area is an added bonus.

Best coffee shop in Macclesfield, great staff Dog friendly

Food / drinks are ok - as long as they aren’t iced lattes or frapps - basically what you’d expect from a coffee shop. We stopped ordering from here from Uber Eats, owed for the constant substitution of a choc muffin to a flapjack (ew..) or just nothing in at all The coffee shop itself gives me bad vibes, I always feel uncomfortable here. Probably owed to the fact it’s extremely noisy & full of the middle class. Starbucks is still my favourite…

I do like the Caffe Nero's in general, but this one is set in a square in the centre of Macclesfield ... all pedestrianised... with pleasant seating outside in front of a church... seating was slightly shaded at the time we arrived around noon. Inside there are some super comfy seats and the cafe has a relaxed lay out. As with all Nero's - coffee great, staff super professional & there was even a tasty morsel to eat for us vegans. Stop by if you are in Macclesfield.

Caffe Nero has the best coffee & the best ambience of any of the main coffee chains in the UK.

Great drinks and fresh cake, but the place felt understaffed and there was rubbish nearly at every table.

Baristas could be a bit friendlier and focus on customers instead of chitchatting.

Great place overall, not very cheap prices but they are a famous chain, sort of like costa or starbucks. Wide variety of drinks and food with different options. Majority of staff here are friendly but have had one or two interactions where they havent. atmosphere is absolutely lovely.

Edit summer 2023: I won't be going back again, as Nero in Macc now allows dogs in every part of the café. I have watched as staff pet the dogs, then turn to make drinks and handle food, without washing hands. The place is grubby, noisy, and with so many dogs sniffing at each other, it's a trip hazard of leads, chairs, etc. The queues are a joke, again due to staff wandering around as they are more interested in petting the dogs. The entrance is similarly unwelcoming, as you have to walk through dirty tables and bins, and the clouds of smoke and fumes from the resident smokers that sit under the canopy all day long. The food and coffee is still fine, but I much prefer Coffee#1 (owned by Nero anyway), or any of the several other cafés in Macc. ---------- It's an alright coffee shop as far as they go but sometimes a bit of a wait for service, the coffee can often have a slightly burned taste too. The counter area seems cramped as the staff only have space to set down two trays at any one time, meaning they can't process orders as quickly as they might otherwise be able to. The annoying thing about this branch (nothing specific to Nero though) is that large tables and multiple chairs are invariably occupied by selfish lone laptop 'workers' and all their bags, coat, belongings, kitchen sink, hogging space under the illusion that they have an unlimited right to conquer half the store as they have bought the cheapest cup of tea from the menu, and made it last for hours. While perhaps this isn't any fault of Nero, the staff don't challenge this behaviour even when they can see that other customers can find nowhere to sit. If this is something that puts me (and potentially others) off visiting this store then it is something that the company might want to have a bit more of a proactive approach towards.

Amazing Caffè Nero experience in Macc. Service you’d expect from a 5 Star Hotel, and coffee you’d only imagine tasting in your night time dreams.

Excellent service. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was a taste bud sensation. I'm not from the area , just passing, but if I'm in MK again, I will definitely book. Well done .

Great coffee as usual at Cafe Nero. Staff amusing and friendly. Pan au raisin was fresh. Lovely old building with a massive 'skylight' for want of the correct word.

Visited at 11.15 on a Thursday and it is looking incredibly tired and dirty. From the bin by the door as you walk in to the filthy coffee making area and cobwebs there really isn't much reason to visit.

Good tea, but toliet a long walk upstairs.

The drink was very well made, I liked it, but someone was smoking in it, and I could feel the strong smell of smoke and cough all the time

Pretty nice spot up at the top of Macc town centre by the square. Usual Caffe Nero quality, which is the best of the big chains for me.

Sat in for coffee with adult disabled son. Coffees delicious, staff great, plenty of space for wheelchair at table. Relaxed, various types of seating in use. I thanked the staff as we left. Old-fashioned, maybe, but it was a good experience.

Brilliant place most of all the staff are 💯 percent lovely the girls make u feel welcome and they chat to the customers witch makes you feel welcome 7 days a week. Well recommended 💯 definitely need to go .

Would give 5 stars but the babyccino were to hot for little ones. Staff sorted immediately when mentioned. Service really slow, no urgency. Only one order ahead of me but took a long time to be served.

Just alright !! Cheesecake shown behind counter was not what was served, sliced into half the shown slice before serving. Nothing nothing nothing !!! Sorry

Went here for a coffee. Seats available. Not much to say. Parking not available, unless you know where you are and can find it. Entrance for all people. Service was fast. But you are in a queue.

Closer to the true Italian experience compared to the buckets of hot milk served up by Costa

Staff very slow, tables not being cleared, toilets needed a good clean didn't look as though they had been cleaned for days. 👎

OK but they were continually testing fore alarms and the tables were full of dirty plates and cups

Coffee is great but the service is very slow. Layout of the shop isn't great as you often have to queue out of the door.

Cafe Nero at Macclesfield, was dirty and scruffy, toilets were out of soap in ladies and filthy and smelly, two flights of stairs to get to, one gents one ladies toilet, absolutely disgusting. Floors in cafe were dirty and we had to sit at the back of cafe, which was very dinghy , also noticed that the glass on food cabinet was dirty, as were the glass doors and door handles, yuk, won’t go there again 😔

Truly amazing spot right in the heart of the town centre! A beautiful cafe looking out onto centre square through massive windows ! Tables & chairs outside if you fancy alfresco it does make you feel your on a Piazza in Rome ! Surrounded by the cobble streets & amazing buildings & beautiful church with a court yard if you want you can take your coffee & snack there on sit on the grass ! We all know coffee is amazing! Why 4 stars they clear the tables fast enough as this is a problem in many cafes in the Uk ! Just some one to this job ! Location location & location!

The front entrance is always a mess and not ideal for such a busy store. Also, given how open the room is, even at the back, it is quite loud and echoey. The food is tasty if a little over-priced. The coffee, however, is always wonderful!

Service was slow; tables were dirty; used cups, plates etc were not cleared away and worst of all the toilet was disgusting, dirty and smelly! Only one toilet open so long queues.

Not bad but not amazing. I must say it wasn't great to hear the walls echo with "caramel like Costa does" when my partner asked for a caramel macchiato...there are ways to confirm that lol. Reasonable coffee.

I went to Cafe Nero in Macclesfield today. This was my first time to Macclesfield. I don't know if it's because there aren't many tourists in Macclesfield. When it was my turn after the long queue, the barista ignored me and moved on to the next customer. I thought she didn't see it the first time, but it went to the second client. She avoided making eye contact. I interrupted when she ignored me and asked the 3rd customer about his order. She was aware that I had been waiting there for minutes and didn't even apologize. I don't know if she did it because I'm not British or if she didn't care because I'm not a familiar face because I'm not a regular customer. A coffee takes five minutes, is it really that simple to ignore a person's presence for any reason? Until now, Nero has been my first choice in all countries and cities. But because of my experience today, I will probably never go to or recommend a Nero again. This event took place on October 30, at 13:00. There was only one blonde woman working that shift that day. I hope that whoever did this can be easily found by shifts. I think the concepts of diversity, dignity, equality and discrimination should be taught to all employees. I was shocked by what happened in this country where I live happily as an NHS worker. I hope something like this never happens to anyone again.

Large enough to have relative privacy in slightly different table layout. Service quick even under pressure (queue).Plenty of sanitiser etc. Toilets clean. But what clenched it for me, delicious flat white with a friend.

The coffee and snacks are excellent but the staff need to take a little bit more time on the outside appearance. The bin was overflowing with rubbish, tables full of dirty pots and rubbish all over the floor. It's a 2 minute job to collect pots up and have a sweep around the tables.

The staff are brilliant and always helpful and friendly.

My wife and I visited here last week. As Cafe Nero is always my number one place for both coffee and ambience, I was looking forward to a relaxing coffee. However, this particular one in Macclesfield is nothing like others I've been to. It was dirty (tables and floor), and the staff were incredibly ignorant to what was going on around them. They were all talking to each other, whilst ignoring customers. The service was slow and very sloppy. I know youngsters need to start somewhere, but at least if there's one older member of staff, then they could help to keep things in check. The coffee is what it is, very nice. But in these places, as with other coffee outlets, the coffee is uniform. So, all that's left, surely, is to be polite, provide decent service and keep it clean? None of these things were evident. The only Cafe Nero I know that's not the usual standard.

Amazing freshly made coffee every single time, cakes and patisseries are gorgeous plus plenty of seating but yet still calming and relaxing.

Needs a good clean out and decorating, dark and dismal inside. Coukd be soooo much better.

Been there last Thursday, the coffee wasn't as good as I'm used to in a Nero and there was no brown sugar but the staff was friendly. It was the dirtiest cafe I've seen from this chain though, the floors were filthy, haven't been cleaned for days, the tables weren't wiped either. I hope it's just a temporary staff shortage that will soon be resolved.

I love going here as they sell amazing salted caramel hot chocolate with cream. Mouth watering. Love it.

Lovely and cosy, the ceiling is pretty cool.

It's a bit hit and miss really sometimes great hot coffee other times it's just above warm. But the staff are always lovely and welcoming.

Normally love it here, but bit baffled as to why they suddenly closed today at just after 3 pm, abruptly kicking everyone out with no explanation! If it was staff isolating, surely it wouldn't have been open at all today?

Remembrance Day chaos. 2 trainees on duty and a massive queue with a regular member of staff doing their very best to avoid work. The trainees were excellent. The regular staff member...Shameful.

Having no nero near us in prestatyn its such a treat when we come to macclesfield its our first port of call

Paper cups whilst sat inside not good no tables are cleaned and the toilets need a clean.

Always sells a decent coffee as do most coffee shops. Plenty of seats and was kept clean, although the furniture is looking a little tired and in need of an update

The food and drinks were delicious and the staff were friendly. So many tables were still full of empty cups that there weren't many clean places to sit so customers were having to move them themselves.

We have had a enjoyable time here dogs are welcome
