The Bridge in Northumberland

I used to love The Bridge and will keep trying because it's generally a great pub with park outside and i hear great discos going on but not been to those. What generally seems to havr fallen since it been taking over by new owner is the food which used to taste and feel quite unique to the place and considerinh it being an independent pub, i used to feel it give the impression of a Green King pub or Sizzler but you could tell by the food it wasnt which was the selling point. However, food is very standard now and has lost it touch. I also dont get good vibes from being in it anymore. Usually full of rowdy drunk individuals that look like there could be trouble with a snap of your fingers and i've seen the owner scrapping with punters as I've drove past. Bar staff are lovely though.

First visit. Recommended by friends. Didn’t disappoint. Sunday carvery was delicious, so tasty. Wasn’t sure if any room for pudding , but decided to go for it So pleased we did , these were just the best 👌. Photos don’t do the food justice.. veg is piled on top of 3 meats Remembered to take a photo of Syrup sponge near the end !

Food is gorgeous and very reasonably priced for the quality. The burgers are recommended and are served with Home made chips! The southern fried chicken burger is delicious and husband had the mega burger and said it was amazing. I even managed a dessert and I didn't leave a spoonful- I was so full but it was too good to leave any! The staff were so helpful and friendly. Can't fault the place. Can't wait to go back.... my mouth is watering writing this review! Highly recommend.

I was staying at the Premier Inn down the road that had a beefeater attached but I refuse to pay those prices. Hence I chose the Bridge, it's a 10 minute walk (if that) or 2 minute drive and I made a great choice. From the moment I walked in I was greeted by a friendly lady (think someone called her Michelle) and a gentleman asking me to give my details (this is Covid times). She then asked me where I wanted to sit and ad I asked to be in front of a TV for sport she gave me the choice of any channel, other TVs had different events on them, at least 3 good size TVs. The pub was clean, homely and looked like a seperate eating area at the far side of the bar. I ordered food at the bar and had a southern fried chicken strip burger with chips. Plenty chicken and filling inside served on a wooden plinth. Very tasty it was too. Cost about £8 or £9 It seems to me to be a very friendly locals pub and I felt comfortable eating here, was made to feel welcome and valued and would definitely recommend it. Would have come again Friday but I chose to visit Holy Island and misread the tide information so got stranded for a few hours and didn't make it off till late. Great food, very nice staff

Excellent Sunday lunch carvery. Very good value, staff friendly down to earth. The beef was perfectly cooked & the best gravy. Can not fault.

Great food in friendly surroundings. Sunday lunch is ALL FRESH. Prices £6 for carvery. Also have specials through the week.

Visited pub from Premier inn half mile down road. A locals pub with a good range of pub food all the basics at a good price. Quality was good for the price we paid. No hand pump beer only cask Boddingtons and John smith. Bar staff/land lady very pleasant and helpful.

We visited the Bridge whilst staying at the Premier Inn down the road. The food was great so we came back again the next evening. My son was kept happy by the various sports on the tvs around the bar. All in all, a great option for those staying locally who are looking for a food option that isn’t the MacDonalds or Beefeaters next door.

Visited on monday when meals are all 5 pound ! Excellent value and burgers very tasty , everything cooked fresh. Staff really friendly. Have just been for drinks before but won t hesitate to return for meals.

I ate here for the first time last Friday and was there with family. I was impressed how good the food was and very reasonably priced. The staff were very good and felt well looked after so will be back.

My friend and I had lunch at The Bridge a few days ago and it was delicious, we both went for the fish and chips and the home made chips were the best I've tasted for a long time. The fish was tasty too and everything was piping hot. The young girl who served us was lovely and couldn't have been more helpful. Can't wait to try the other dishes on the menu, we will definitely be back!

Visited with friends on Monday night - all main courses on the menu are £5. This is incredible value - no smaller portions and no rubbish quality. All freshly cooked and piping hot. I had a medium steak with chips, peas, onion rings and tomato- steak was cooked to perfection. You can see the quality and size of my friends mega burger. Great deals on throughout the week and smashing service with a smile.

Had a fantastic meal all home cooked Really nice would recommend it and on Sunday really nice Sunday dinner Monday is special night only 5 for anything on the menu

This was by far the best Christmas dinner we have had in the last few years. The mushroom soup was mushroomy and peppery. I had beef it was cooked well as were the vegetables. The turkey was moist and cooked well. The sticky toffee pudding was a bit sweet for my liking but was tasty. The food came hot and the service was excellent. Will be booking again for next Christmas!

Been here lodes of times with friends and family in large and small groups. Food is always spot on, service is good, environment is good. Even my grandfather approves (never happens). Dog friendly, and great to get a pushchair in.

For my grans birthday we had a family meal for 7 people. Everyone was happy with their meals which were served promptly. Service was friendly and efficient. Other customers were also friendly.

Food is fantastic, we got the mixed grill(mondays £5!) staff are always so lovely and friendly. Relaxing atmosphere and dogs welcome.

Me and my partner have just moved to Annitsford and we have been here three times so far. Twice for drinks and once for food. Every time we have came all the staff seem really friendly and welcoming. We came on a Saturday night when they had live music which was good and everyone was getting into it. Yesterday we went for food and it was also quiz night. This was really fun despite having no general knowledge, haha! They make it something for everyone. The food was also decently priced and lovely. Excited to get to know everyone.

Elaine and her team have done a fantastic job! The food drinks and atmosphere here is second to none! Families couples or even popping in for a quick pint your always welcomed here! Highly recommend 5stars! Long may it continue! Pub of the year 2019!

Visited at tea time for a family meal-9 adults and 2 kids. Staff friendly and accommodating from the start. Drinks very reasonably priced. The food was lovely - we all agreed that it was the best pub meal we've had for a long time. Very reasonably priced, nicely cooked and well presented. Home cooked chips are perfect!

This time I ordered from the light bite menu and had fish and chips followed by desert for £5.99. It was lovely and just the right size. My two friends were also happy with their food. Sat in the conservatory, nice and quiet. Staff were friendly and chatty. Lovely lunch venue.

My husband and I live in the vicinity and had been told by friends how lovely the food is at The Bridge.

Lot of friends told me about this place and I never really fancied it..me and the missus passed one day (forgot write review then) and thought we give it a try...well all I can say is that this is the best hidden gem in Northumberland....when we went in it was empty (12ish when we went in) not a good sign..a few old men drinking in the corner...we ordered food I had a cheeseburger she had a chicken burger and.......they were amazing, fresh juicy moist and tasty.....homemade chips were a delight in fact best chips I've tasted from any bar or restaurant...we both had a pint of larger....service was great (but we were the only ones in there eating)....and it was all less than £20.00....have been back a couple of times and it's still great...blink and you will miss this place...if you live in the surrounding area forget about the willow farm or shirehorse this is the place to lunch out at...just need to try a night out in hear

They do a fantastic sunday lunch, lamb beef, gammon and turkey, or chicken, fantastic yorkkies , get yourself along and find out for yourself

Tidy pub, just painted, nice pint of John smiths, good atmosphere , used by the locals and has a decent car park

I couldn't believe how good this food is. Good offers 2 steaks and a bottle of wine for £20 from Thursday I think until Sunday. 2 main meals for £10 they drinks aren't a bad price either. What I loved was you get proper chips and lovely and tasty.

Always get a good reception upon entering, a smile and a "how are you?"

Han pasado por unas cuantas veces para un par de pintas y me pareció una buena alternativa a mi local la bahía de caballos. Llevé a la familia a mi madre 66 cumpleaños celebtate th y probar las comidas que parecía excelente en visitas anteriores. Llegamos a las 7 de la tarde en un sábado por la noche sólo para descubrir que los pedidos para la comida es 6. 30 un sábado. Solo nos íbamos a alojar para las bebidas, pero la casera reabierto la cocina para nosotros y nos trataron con una encantadora casa de comida casera, que todos pensamos que era excelente. Servicio de atención al cliente genial y personal encantador y amable. Sin duda visitar regularmente.

Asador típico domingo muy amable personal zona de juegos para los niños en la parte trasera bien de precio "" no hay mucho más que decir

Unbeatable food and value. Nothing is too much trouble.If they can change something to suit you they will, Perfect steak with home made chips and garnish. 2 for £12 on steak night. Go and enjoy the food.
