Cute quaint pub! The bartender was playing Pokémon Go and we got to share trainer IDs! Had several drinks and was there for hours talking to new friends and listening to music. Cheers from across the pond! 🇺🇸🍻

Sunday, after looking round the market. Friendly local. Very clean with nice yard and garden. Good for a G n T and cool jazz if you use the juke box. Don't know about evenings I'm afraid. Nice yard on three levels and directly opposite Hitchin market with a view of the church.

Great range of beers. It was nicely busy, not crowded. Bar staff are very friendly. I would definitely go back.

Good, clean old fashioned style pub. Good location opposite the market. It has a range of fine beers, friendly staff and double-up offers on many spirits. Not at all crowded early afternoons (Sunday).

Nice enough pub with good beer selection, though pretty difficult to make yourself heard over the music.

I had an enjoyable evening here with a couple of friends. Just drinks but the beer was good.

Fantastic pub it has an old school London east end pub feel , the staff are super friendly also dog friendly which is great. The landlord Vince is a character and really takes pride in his boozer . Real hidden gem

Friendly pub & bar staff helpful

We got lucky on a hot Bank holiday and spent a good few hours in the beer garden. The drinks service was amazing - the guy on the bar was so attentive, and the space inside looks lovely, even though we were outside all the time. Facilities were clean and would definitely go back!

Ok place archetypal town pubs tall ceiling, single bar, decent beers, clean loos, dark cold night so don't know about the garden.

I'm a neighbour, and this keeps popping up on my phone. I'm hoping it will stop now. Seems pleasant enough, inconsiderate customers block the roads and parking. Some bad singing on occasion from there... But happy sounds!

JAN 2014 - Under New Management - new pub!great landlady -quite young- kept expecting her Dad to come out from the back -This is not the pub it used to be..... in a good way. 12 real ales Clean and tidy Great for having a good beer and a chat ( no loud music) no TV, no food ( you are allowed to bring fish and chips in from next door though!) outdoor smoking area, grassed garden and a car park - never knew these existed before. Brilliant pub - hardly want anyone to know how good it NOW is but the landlady deserves a good review. Wish I lived nearer.
