Deserved win for The Brewery as pub of the week recently in the Gazette & Herald. Always busy with locals and visitors for great food, my last sampling of Fiery fries was a meal in itself. Sarah and the staff have coped so well to keep this COVID secure in such a small venue with sheltered outside seating and careful table management. Delighted to hear that our favourite take- aways will operate during the dreaded lockdown. Can't wait to get back in hopefully in December.

My family and I visited the Brewery Inn this evening and I have to say, it was super! Not only did we all feel welcome but also safe in these difficult times. Everything was spotlessly clean and the staff were so welcoming. The all weather pods that have been installed are wonderful! They are great for an alfresco meal even in October, we all felt quite cozy. We only expected a normal pub menu but to our delight, the Brewery Inn had decided to offer bespoke pizza’s, design your own topping options at a very reasonable price. We were not disappointed, they were excellent! Superb ale to wash it down and altogether a great evening. We will reserve a pod again very soon.Thank you to all the staff at the Brewery Inn at Seend in Wiltshire.

Such a lovely pub with great food and drinks. We came in and were greeted by the staff, who were very friendly and accommodating. There was a wide selection of drinks available and a variety food options, many homemade. As a vegan with food allergies, it can be difficult to find places that serve food I can eat without having a reaction. The pub was very accommodating with all of my food-related needs and had plenty of delicious vegan options available, including puddings! As for the pub, it was cosy and had such a friendly atmosphere. The COVID-19 restrictions made it a very safe environment to be in and I will definitely be coming back.

Wow what a feast! Visited just before 3 on a Sunday and in time for a fabulous Sunday Roast Feast. More than 5 veg a day! Served by smiling happy staff, feast consisted of beef, pork, ample roast potatoes, 4 lots of veg on plate AND broccoli and cauliflower cheese. Spoilt for choice with home made desserts. Opted for home made bread and butter pudding which was Devine. Well worth the visit with no ‘pretentiousness’ like the pub down the road. Red wine delicious

Homemade burger (Iceland),Homemade coleslaw (Tesco’s) Skin on chilli fries (no skin) (no chilli) Beer battered onion rings (Iceland’s) Unfortunately our young waitress (who wasLovely) had no answers to our questions (apparently her first night)! This is the first negative review that I have had to give any establishment and I would not recommend to anyone to visit this pub for food! After reading the reviews and speaking to the locals working on the canal, I decided to go for dinner at the Brewery Inn with my family. From the outside it looked good with cute water stations for my dog however that was the main highlight of the visit. The menu was extremely limited to what was written on the specials wall and a small board on the bar however I thought optimistically that this food would be excellent due to the restricted choice. After waiting 30 minutes for the food, there was mixed results. On a plus the pies were very nice however they came with salad (no vegetables although it was stated on the wall that it was an option) and the chips were simply terrible, over fried, greasy and tasteless. As there was only one choice of children’s meal, my children chose the adult chicken burger. This turned out to be 2 small pieces of tasteless chicken in a dried bun with the same standard of chips which the adults had! The result being that went back to the barge and gave our children some more food. The pub itself was a single room with a bar and some odd tables to eat at. This did not have a friendly, local pub feel as expected and at no time were we asked how our food was or if we would like anything else. A very disappointing experience and therefore I would recommend eating in the boat or going somewhere else if you are looking for a family friendly eating experience!

We chose this pub over the Barge Inn as it was more homely and local. We were welcomed by the staff and locals there and got chatting to them.Enjoyed a lovely home made scotch egg and home made chips. My husband had the home made burger meal and thoroughly enjoyed that. We share a treacle sponge pudding which again was very nice.Whilst there, we also tried the local cider - Willow - very nice!

Only one thing saved this from a zero and that was the barmaid. If you book lunch for 12.30 you do not expect to wait until 13.15 for any food. You do not expect to have to listen to a domestic between the landlord and his staff The food was awful and I do not expect to wait so long for the bill when we only want to leave and there were only 4 other customers in the bar. Walking into the bar we were greeted with an awful smell of wet dog and urine so we opted for outside seating. As the kitchen had closed the barmaid offered myself and 6 friends an easy option from the menu so we ordered burger and chips. Upon delivery of food we were surprised at the size of the portions considering we had paid over 90 pounds for 7 burgers and approximately 6 chips each. About half way into the burger (having had a couple of beers) I noticed it contained a rediculous ammount of salt and it completely put me off the rest of my meal. I must reiterate that the ammount of salt was what I believe as a chef to be unsafe for human consumption. The day after I suffered severe stomach cramps, tremors and vomiting and at least 3 of my friends later had similar symptoms, which Im sure is no coincidence. I would definitely not recommend eating at this establishment.

Visited this pub following recommendation. Very definitely a locals local. Limited menu offered, though the locals were offered steak or Ham and Eggs. We ordered 3 burgers - these arrived with 9 chips each and a dry over toasted bread bun, the 4th person in our group ordered pie... which was a bowl of meat and gravy with frozen puff pastry thrown over the top. We were asked if all ok, however in order to not make a scene or embarrass anyone we said it was ok. Pub dog, sat waited to hoover up scraps, constantly round the table - owners should be more in control of dog begging for food. We were hungry so we ate the less than adequate food and left.

The real ale was well kept and a choice of 2 . A select menu with lots of variety, all homemade, but all so tasty , and competitively priced, it was faultless, the chef is a real asset to this pub. We enjoyed it so much we called in on our return journey, a real shock - it was really quiet but still fantastic food, sadly sold out of some dishes after a busy Saturday night, and down to 1 ale , still great though. Although we have stayed in the area quite a few times we have never visited this pub usually preferring to go to its more sophisticated neighbour on the canal. A local man we chatted to along the canal suggested we give it a try and we were very glad we did.We learnt that the previous landlord had gone bust and the current landlord, a local man, had taken over the lease a couple of months ago. His biggest asset is the chef and his bar staff. Incredibly friendly service and we were completely surprised to learn that all the food is cooked from scratch, no catering packs here. The menu is short with good choices and extremely well priced (we are used to London prices). The pub is mainly used by locals but it would be great if through TripAdvisor more visitors could give it a try. The building itself probably needs some capital investment and the garden sorted out but with more punters coming through the doors those things will follow.By the way it is dog friendly. At present they don't take cards, cash only but that may change over time.We wish them well.

We were told that they had some chicken breast that they could put in. As this was only half past twelve, we were abit put out, especially as they serve the carvery til 4pm. We phoned about an hour before arriving and booked a table in the downstairs restaurant. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming and nothing seemed too much trouble.A good selection of dishes were available on the menu and all were very tasty. Will visit again when we are next in the area, such a shame that we do not live closer.

We came here a year ago and knew that we would have to come back when we were in the area again. It's always a bit of a worry that a place won't be up to previous high standards. We need not have worried. It is still an amazing friendly village pub. The standard of food is superb. I had the Wiltshire ham, eggs and chips. My husband had order envy so we had to return a couple of days later so he could have it. I had the bbq chicken ciabatta...amazing!!

We ate at the Brewery Inn at Seend last week and the service and food were excellent. We altered 3 of the 4 meals from the menu (changing dressings and adding chicken to a pasta dish) with no fuss and everything was served as we asked. It was quicker than we expected for freshly cooked food and very good sized portions.Overall it was really good value (cheap compared to the nearest pub) and a lot better quality in our opinion.Large garden for families and dogs were welcomed which is very handy if you have all walked there along the canal.Highly recommended!

Stopped off here on a July Saturday afternoon (about 2pm). The pub was recommended by some locals we had just spoken to, so thought it worth a visit. They had more or less confirmed to me that The Brewery was just that, a micro brewery that produced it's own ale. I saw no evidence of that however. While my wife took the dog to the beer garden at the back, I entered the saloon bar. Two customers in there. One guy was especially affable and we chatted about the location, village et al for a few minutes, the pleasant bar lady joining in with the banter. I had a pint of "The Rev" I think it was called. Nice. My wife had a soft drink. I took the drinks to the beer garden which was particularly large and attractively laid out. I walked over to the serving hatch where my drinks had been placed as it is a bit of a trek to the garden all the way around the back to get there from the bar. We were there, sunning ourselves, for about 45 minutes or so. The experience was all good.

A good old fashioned village pub, not pretentious just great service and good food and local cider to boot. We have visited several times and always been greeted in a warm and friendly manner and made to feel most welcome. The food has been spot on every time. Friday steak deal very good value. Most recently we have also taken our 4 year old granddaughter who is a very fussy eater - nothing was too much trouble for them, they went out of their way to offer alternatives to please her. She enjoyed playing in the tree house too. Do try it!

We visited based on a recommendation and were pleased we did. Quite the most friendly and unpretentious pub we have visited for a long time. But that doesn't mean it was in any way lacking. Good food, great real ale selection and a very warm welcome add up to an all round good experience. Well worth the walk from the canal, we will be back.

When we arrived we where made very welcome and the landlady explained what was on the menu and carvery, sat down with us she let my wife taste a cider she had not tasted before lovely touch. We choose the carvery roastbeef and ham was the choice so we had slices of each plus roast potatoes, peas carrots broccoli squash, great gravy and yummy y/pudding. It was a great meal stuggled to finish it but did, no room for a sweet. So if you a great sunday lunch well presented and cooked served by friendly staff go to The Brewery we will again.

Small pub that served food in Seend Cleeve. Large portions of pub grub that are very reasonably priced. Just be aware that it won't be fine dining as you eat in the bar area. Very friendly and helpful landlady.

There was a small menu so we opted for the carvery Sunday lunch. There was a choice of three portion sizes with as much veg as you wanted. We all had roast beef, (we could have chosen gammon) which we all agreed was some of the best beef we had ever had. The sweet choices were good old fashioned puddings followed by a selection of hot drinks. There was a warm atmosphere and an even warmer wood burner which was very welcome on a really cold day! A good pub, which seems popular with the locals too.

Stopped in for Sunday lunch today. Very friendly welcome, lovely little proper pub feel and a nice warm fire. Very family friendly, we were eating with with our three and one year olds. Children's menu was fine and nice for it to be available on a Sunday too. Little one loved his dinner and ate every bite. We both had the carvery which was good, it had its ups and downs. The beef wasn't the best quality but the chicken was wonderfully moist, the roast potatoes were amazing, the Yorkshire puddings were fab and the gravy was stunning, I could have happily eaten it by the bowlful! Will definitely be coming back!

There is a plaque in the pub which reads, walk in as strangers leave as friends, in this place it is so true, set in a beautiful village we walked by the Kennett and Avon Canal. The welcome was amazing, dogs are welcome, child friendly although we were 2 adult couples had a fantastic time. Steak night is not to be missed. £20.00 buys two steak dinners plus a bottle of good wine, menu excellent . Can't recommend this place enough. Drinks very good value. Try Wacky Cider if you dare.

The staff at this pub are so accommodating, we booked a table in advance for 16 for a late meal last Friday evening being a group from two canal boats. Some of us were vegetarian and one vegan, the pub rang me ahead to ensure that they had things on the menu to suite all tastes. The range of beers and the food was excellent. This was the night before their cider festival so they really had a lot on. This is a lovely unpretentious local so if you are looking for somewhere which is really people and dog friendly then come here.

Full of atmosphere, friendly pub just as they used to be. Large menu with specials board but maybe best to specialise in fewer dishes done well. Six of us ate, tuna salad was just a tin of tuna, not fresh, on leaves with hard boiled eggs & seafood pasta had 2 tiny prawns more like shrimps, cut up crab sticks! ( when have they ever seen the sea?) & mussels. ploughman was fab though recommend you stick to traditional menu & forget the specials. Will definitely visit again.

The atmosphere was seriously local, full of us Wiltshire yokels and several well-behaved dogs ! This is how pubs used to be years ago, with a fair proportion of customers only drinking. Lots of conversation throughout the bar, which to us is what makes it such an enjoyable evening. The food is well presented, good quality pub grub, with all 4 of us enjoying our meals. The choice of real-ales was excellent plus scrumpy cider, all well looked after. So we were happy enough to say we will try the Sunday Lunch carvery next. The bar staff were very welcoming and genuinely friendly, which for us was a most enjoyable experience !
