I felt really at ease at first it seem to be friendly and welcoming, so I don't know why I was spoken to in the way I was by one of the managers he was mean and spiteful with the way he spoke to me. I couldn't get out of of there quick enough. I'll never be going back. I just don't get it why would you do that for absolutely no reason.

Seemed friendly and jolly until I witnessed bizarre behaviour from one of the managers towards myself. I don't know what his problem was but he's definitely in the wrong job he made me feel very uncomfortable . I won't be going back there again, I will spend my money elsewhere, his manner was completely rude and unnecessary .

we went here to catch the impromptu music evening during the Folk Festival. Good atmosphere & good music. Lousy bar service - my wife's wine (Harvey's Pinot Grigio from an open bottle in the chiller cabinet) was definitely off. the manager (landlord?) refused to change it, refused to taste it (he could easily have tried the same bottle) & appeared to believe that wine can't go off.

Absolutely fantastic pub. Landlords and staff very friendly and welcoming, home from home. They offer something different every night to suit all ages. What stands out the most is how clean and fresh the pub is and how you are made to feel welcome. X x

I was "passing through" today, the 22 ,10,22, thought I would try the "brass" for a pint and some peace and quiet, there were certain "individuals" seated in the front window, two bearded gents, and a very loud and outspoken "red haired" very tall gentleman, firstly I had to move away from their table to a more "peaceful corner,to avoid their "bombardment "of bad language, which could be heard by other "annoyed customers"which may I add was "disregarded" by management who were present at the bar! the ultimate "insult the tall man gave to his "freinds" in a loud voice was "you are welsh, shut up! your all a bunch of "sheep shxxxxrs"to this point ,i decided to leave, I wouldn, t have minded , but being "welsh" myself did not find this amusing, If this is the pinnacle of clientelle at this establishment, I,ll have a quiet drink at home ,thank you...

Now THE BRASS is just my idea of a local bar or pub....lovely staff, relaxed atmosphere and a good selection of spirits, wines, beers and ciders Its clean, fresh, bright and very welcoming, as well as being obviously LGBT friendly Close to the main line railway station; several bus routes to as far away as Torquay & Exeter; a handy taxi rank and just a short walk to the seafront and shops I regularly visit the Brass whenever I'm in Teignmouth and I heartily recommend it as a great place to visit

Went to the Brass at the weekend with my other half. Was met by Jamie, the landlord, demanding what we were doing about Pride in Teignmouth. Never met the bloke before and certainly didn’t appreciate being met with such aggression! Having spoken to some local, they said he’s often like this. Very off putting. We only popped in for a quiet drink. Not the way to greet customers, new or old!

We have been here quite a few times lately and always had a good time. We have met some interesting people and listened to some great music. The pub has been completely refurbished and has a great atmosphere. Always friendly service and reasonably priced a great local pub!

THE BRASS is a great improvement on the rather tired old BRASS MONKEY and its new management should be congratulated From a dingy and dipressing interior they had created a smart, modern, but very welcoming Bar-style look The range of drinks is interesting and bottles of LONDON PRIDE in the fridge made me feel quite at home It will be interestingto see what comes next, something I will certainly look forward too

Just opened after a refurb of an old tired pub. Great atmosphere, friendly, real ale and regular entertainment. It is small but big in the atmosphere.

On our 1st visit to Teignmouth we were lucky enough to meet Harvie at the bus stop in Torquay. He chatted to us as we waited, told us how lovely Teignmouth was and that he worked in The Brass., a pub 1/2 way between the railway station and the sea front. As we arrived in the town we told him we would see him in about an hour, he waved and smiled and went to work. Harvie was genuinely pleased to see us an hour later. The Brass is newly decorated, spotlessly clean and serves a large variety of drinks. The Ice Cold cider is delicious😋 and also the Doom Bar ale 🍺. At the moment the only food served is filled baps but these are lovely and fresh and generously filled, try the roast beef and mustard. If you are looking for a pleasant bite , a good drink and friendly bar staff you won't get better than Harvie and The Brass.

Bovey Castle is certainly a beautiful and interesting location. However, with all their grounds parking spaces are a premium. Eventually, we were offered a space in a coned off area. A very well appointed building as your would expect for a Five Star Hotel. We began with an aperitif 'Gusbourne English Sparkling' which was superb. A absolutely delightful bar. Smith's Brasserie! Well, let's begin with the positives. Excellent welcome and staff were fantastic throughout our Birthday lunch. Extremely unimaginative menu to say the least. A nice enough starter. Perhaps would have expected freshly made mayonnaise, not from a bottle, in such an establishment. Pleasant enough bottle of rose, although there was a choice of ONE. My wife (Birthday Girl) and I opted for pasta dishes. Absolutely clueless when it comes to pasta dishes. Packet spaghetti with prawns (four small ones) and a Provencal sauce? Very little of it too. It is an Italian dish and the sauce requires mixing in the pasta. Tagliatelle, again from a packet, with some type of utterly non-descript cream sauce at the bottom of the dish. Totally unseasoned dishes. The cooking water needs to taste of the sea. Therefore, seasoned. No offer of cheese or pepper or pangrattato, nothing, and certainly no theatre. Huge improvements required I'm afraid to make an enjoyable dining experience. Dress Code: Expectations, as you would imagine were high. Staff were smart, but could have been better attired for such a hotel. Clientele: Lots of jeans and un-ironed tee shirts wondering around and dining. A pair of football shorts and dirty trainers at one table, others with feet on the chairs in the bar and the final straw was a couple arriving in towelling dressing gowns and flip flops. NO! Sorry. There's a time and a place and this is not acceptable. Unfortunately, this was a lunch to judge if a weekend stay would be appropriate for our anniversary and it simply is not good enough.

We came for Sunday carvery when we visited Dawlish. The food was good, although the beef was a bit chewy. The Yorkshire puddings were huge. Service was quick and friendly and the Covid-19 set up was good. We would return if we came back to the area.

Lovely food, classic pub grub but done well and reasonably priced. Liver was excellently cooked, slightly pink and soft and packed full of flavour. Service was good, we were checked back on, meals came promptly and cleared when finished. Nice cold wine and kids meals substantial for the price! Only marked down one star as bar is always busy (not a bad thing), but just makes it sometimes awkward leaning over drinkers to order food. However, always highly recommended for both food and drinks.
