People that work there don't have an absolute clue what they are doing. Asked if I wanted to make my child's kids meal free. Just needed to add a fruit shoot. I said fine, then it didn't work because my adult meal was one penny short. I said don't worry about it, just remove the fruit shoot. She said she can't remove anything off the order (?) Even though I didn't even pay for it yet. I asked her to just cancel the order and add my and my daughters meal on again, she said again that she can't cancel the order (?) And I need to buy the fruit shoot now? 😂 I told her I'm not buying anything that I don't want, and again to just cancel the order and put my meals on again as I have not even paid for it yet. She looked at me like I was talking about mathematical science of black holes. I just left it and didn't bother, went somewhere else with competent staff 😂

Visited this morning for breakfast to be greeted by 2 very miserable staff. The cook and the lady serving had a bit of an attitude. We had a full breakfast which was very disappointing. Mushroom wasn’t even cooked. Tiny little bit of thin bacon basically the fry up was tasteless. I’ve been many of times for a fry up at this cafe and it’s been delicious but definitely gone down hill. will never return again. Staff could do with some training on cooking and service. Sorry for the bad review but it needs to be improved.

Shocking food, don't get me wrong breakfasts are okay but everything else is frozen processed rubbish, you order your food to be sitting 15 mins to then be told they haven't got your food, can you choose something else? Well not really as it was the only thing I wanted anyway. Won't be going again that's for sure

We love the fish, chips and mushy peas(I had baked beans !!) washed down with hot chocolate. Had a smile put on our faces by an announcer of offers in store, he sounded as though he had escaped from Butlins or Pontins, he was so camp. Apparently the gentleman concerned loves the sound of his own voice but proved entertaining. The beauty of coming here is that nowadays you find a table, make a note of your table number and then order your meal and pay for it which is great if like us you don't have modern mobile pay phones, though you do have the option to pay this way. One more thing is that the menu is not as big as before but there's plenty of choice for every taste.

We went to have a spot of lunch and take advantage of the Eat out to Help out deal. Would just like to say how organised it was with a queueing system and then sent through to the restaurant when there was a table ready for you. This had been cleaned and left with a track and trace for for you to fill in. The staff were friendly, efficient and coping extremely well with the change in working. The food was really good, can recommend the butternut squash and lentil bake (I'm not vegan but fancied it and it didn't disappoint, very tasty). Well done for getting it right.

Horrendous service today, so disappointed. We waited patiently in the queue which was not a problem. Once the order was placed, we were sat waiting for 40 mins for our food. Mind you, everyone was served and it wasn’t busy. While we still sat waiting, a couple next to us was served immediately with no issues while we continued to wait. My friend ordered all day breakfast which was missing the following: bacon, eggs, mushrooms and tomatoes. He had a few chips, beans and sausages - that’s it. We had to ask for what was paid for on numerous occasions and wait another 5-10 mins for each missing item to arrive. Toast finally came too, you won’t be surprised to read that they were burnt. My salad looked like something you would put in the compost, brown lettuce and dried peppers and the portion of chips - 7 small chips in the kids ball - seriously! I have never written a review before nor did I have high expectations having eaten in the Morrison’s cafe before but let me assure you, I won’t be coming back and let me tell you, go and enjoy your food somewhere else.

Sorry to say this but it was awful from the start to end. Staff did not seem to know what they were doing. We spent 15 mins waiting for someone who knew about coffee machines to come and get it working. There is no fish and chips but they did not tell you until you order. Soft drinks machine out of order but no sign. Cafe was not busy. We ordered at 12.17 and at 12.50 went to see what was happening told no ham one of us ordered. Gave us money back for that. 13.10 when meals appeared Luke warm. A lady who ordered a vegan breakfast was given a meat one. A staff member did come out and queried what she had ordered but she was eating it. Appeared to be no one in charge, staff chatting in the kitchen Yes it's covid safe.

This cafe started doing an Xmas Dinner Deal about a month ago, you can have the main course at £5.75, two Courses for £6.50 and Three Courses at £7.50. As we don't have a big constitution we opted for the Main Course which was very filling and was cooked to perfection. Really good value for money. Fast forward a month and we had the Fish and Chips, one of us had mushy peas while the other had baked beans but we both had Tartare Sauce with it. This meal was superb as it always is, if you haven't tried it then do so, you won't be disappointed.

Fantastic breakfast. Opted for the porridge and poached eggs on toast. Huge bowl of delicious freshly made porridge with chopped bananas and honey (a far cry from the terrible instant porridge you get in places such as Starbucks and the like). Barely had room left for the eggs on toast but could still appreciate the perfectly cooked eggs with a lovely runny yolk and the four nicely browned pieces of wholemeal toast (again, unlike the paltry one slice offering which you get from other supermarket cafes). Customer service was also excellent. I will be certainly be back whilst I am still in the area.

We were in this “cafe” if that’s the right word this morning 21 October 2019 and we had positively the worst fried breakfast ever. Also the other person had a bacon roll. My breakfast was billed as a small breakfast. The only half decent thing about this was the sausage and even that was cold. The bacon was virtually rock hard (not crispy, rock hard) as was the bacon in the role. Everything on the plate was cold by the time it got to me except the egg which I had asked to be flipped but instead was solid by the time it got to me. The whole thing was positively awful. The service was indifferent with staff who just couldn’t care less. Oh yes, this breakfast comes with toast and that’s just what we got, no butter just dried toast. When I asked about this I was told we’ve run out of butter (this was approx 1030 am). I was given two containers of Flora which I hate and left to get on with it. How do you run out of butter in a ******** supermarket cafe at 1030am. In the past we have had some decent meals here served by conscientious staff. Certainly not today.

My wife and I very much like to visit Morrisons for our weekly shop! We have no complaints with the store itself and find it pretty good in many respects. Disabled access is brilliant and offers wide aisles for operating wheelchairs. The staff are very pleasant and helpful and there are always parking for disabled available. Overall produce and displays are good! We usually plan to take on a small meal here and once again disabled access is good! However, the meals are really something else after last weeks disaster we will in future be giving meal a miss! We settled for all-day breakfast (all day, operative word) The sausages were from breakfast? and resembled small tree branchesand warranted a small saw, the chips were very dry and the whole plate was swimming in baked beans! Not impressed with the Chef! Fooled by excellent fish and chips on just one occasion Will however continue to shop in store!

Extremely slow service, ordered 3 jacket potatoes, 1 with chilli and 2 with beans. After 15 minutes was told there was no chilli, so swapped for prawns, after 20 minutes they finally arrived but when we cut into them they weren't cooked properly. We promptly sent them back, the lady from the kitchen came to see us and then basically accused us of lying saying that they were cooked and had been steamed for 3 hours!! The potatoes were still hard, a properly cooked jacket potatoe is always soft and fluffy in the middle. The money was refunded for both the food and drinks but the attitude received throughout was appalling. I did further complain to the store manager whom I have to say was excellent. She was very apologetic and very understanding of our complaint, even gave us a couple of vouchers as a gesture of goodwill which was unexpected but gratefully received.

We have noticed that the service at this establishment has gone down hill on our last two visits. Normally when we order our food we get a hot drink to have with it but by the time the food has arrived our drinks have gone cold. We made mention of this on our last visit and were given complimentary replacement hot drinks. I make note that when the food was delivered it was very good and piping hot but it is the time it is taking for the food to get to you that needs looking at. I could understand if the restaurant was heaving with people but it wasn't and so there is no excuse for the delay. When we go shopping we like to have a meal out so that my wife doesn't have to turn around and do it when we get home which is why we have frequented this establishment along with McDonalds, Beefeater and Burger King when we go to Newton Abbot, depending on what our taste buds require. We are loathe to go somewhere, where the food delivery isn't up to the standard of days gone by. May be we will give it one last chance to redeem itself this week and if still not up to par will consider going somewhere else. It is a shame but it is their own fault.

Went in on 9/12/18 at 2.30pm to do a bit of shopping and get a hot meal (traveling through area). Asked staff if the"specials" menu served from 3pm was on that day, told yes. Returned after shopping at 3pm to be told no hot food options were available, only food was what was left in cold counter area. Frustrating on a Sunday in a largely closed seaside town.Returned again as passing through on 12/12/18 for 3pm onwards meal offer. Asked for FOUR different choices, none of which available. Meals available were the "whatever and chips" options. Are staff unable to cook and serve veg and mash as the menus clearly advertise? Apparently so!Waste of time going here if you want more than easy to provide cake/snack/chips/drinks options...

Every year Morrisons put on an xmas meal and invariably this is good value for money this year being no exception, a main at £5.75, 2 courses £6.50 and 3 courses at £7.50. We opted for a two course and chose main and sweet. If there is an observation it is the fact that processed meat is used but other than that the meal was palatable even the sprouts were easy to cut as at some places they come as hard as bullets. For afters I went traditional and had the Xmas pudding with custard. All in all a very good meal at a price many can afford and just the right amount of food without leaving you totally stuffed !!

We both had the Beef Lasagne but I had Garlic Bread(two slices), my wife had chips with hers. When it arrived we swapped some Garlic bread for some chips. The whole meal was fabulous. As my title indicates we have been here many times, in fact, when we were holiday makers we would set off nice and early to arrive as the restaurant was opening and in those days the Little Breakfast was the order of the day. The meal was perfect and set us up for the day, we would then do the shopping and the rest of the day was ours to enjoy before going to the Camp site. It would appear that the management of Morrisons have taken note of the very negative review of November 2016. When we arrived the cafe was half full with only one table with used crockery on it, this was soon cleared and the other empty tables were wiped clean. The staff were friendly and there was no repetition of the rudeness experienced by the first reviewer. The food is not cordon bleu, but at the prices charged you wouldn't expect it be; a drink and hearty meal for two for £12.00 is very reasonable. We particularly like the create your own breakfast option. Morrisons cafes are usually pretty reliable, however I would say, having visited many of their cafes on numerous occasions, the situation can change both in the quality of meal and service. It can vary between different stores and different visits to the same store. It all depends on the turn-over of staff. Individual store managers need to keep a watchful eye on the running of their cafes.

Lovely food, classic pub grub but done well and reasonably priced. Liver was excellently cooked, slightly pink and soft and packed full of flavour. Service was good, we were checked back on, meals came promptly and cleared when finished. Nice cold wine and kids meals substantial for the price! Only marked down one star as bar is always busy (not a bad thing), but just makes it sometimes awkward leaning over drinkers to order food. However, always highly recommended for both food and drinks.

Bovey Castle is certainly a beautiful and interesting location. However, with all their grounds parking spaces are a premium. Eventually, we were offered a space in a coned off area. A very well appointed building as your would expect for a Five Star Hotel. We began with an aperitif 'Gusbourne English Sparkling' which was superb. A absolutely delightful bar. Smith's Brasserie! Well, let's begin with the positives. Excellent welcome and staff were fantastic throughout our Birthday lunch. Extremely unimaginative menu to say the least. A nice enough starter. Perhaps would have expected freshly made mayonnaise, not from a bottle, in such an establishment. Pleasant enough bottle of rose, although there was a choice of ONE. My wife (Birthday Girl) and I opted for pasta dishes. Absolutely clueless when it comes to pasta dishes. Packet spaghetti with prawns (four small ones) and a Provencal sauce? Very little of it too. It is an Italian dish and the sauce requires mixing in the pasta. Tagliatelle, again from a packet, with some type of utterly non-descript cream sauce at the bottom of the dish. Totally unseasoned dishes. The cooking water needs to taste of the sea. Therefore, seasoned. No offer of cheese or pepper or pangrattato, nothing, and certainly no theatre. Huge improvements required I'm afraid to make an enjoyable dining experience. Dress Code: Expectations, as you would imagine were high. Staff were smart, but could have been better attired for such a hotel. Clientele: Lots of jeans and un-ironed tee shirts wondering around and dining. A pair of football shorts and dirty trainers at one table, others with feet on the chairs in the bar and the final straw was a couple arriving in towelling dressing gowns and flip flops. NO! Sorry. There's a time and a place and this is not acceptable. Unfortunately, this was a lunch to judge if a weekend stay would be appropriate for our anniversary and it simply is not good enough.

It's a pretty standard coffee shop, nothing particularly remarkable about it but the staff are reasonably friendly and service is usually fast. However it is very busy and noisy! I've always enjoyed the drinks here, although the coffee is pretty average and you can definitely get better tasting drinks elsewhere. Whenever I've sat in though, there has been a constant stream of people that come in just to use the toilet and then walk out leaving the door open (and sometimes shaking their wet hands all over the place), so there is a bit of a smell. It's not really the fault of the store but it is off-putting.
