Recent visit to this store for few bits..bought some gluten free asda own lemon slices. Out of date! I recently visited Bridgewater asda and had same issue. Only this time I paid then realised so went to customer services to be faced by a grumpy woman who gave me a refund and said they were short staffed. Really?...so how come the other gluten free items were in date? She didn't even apologise. Clearly whoever stocks this aisle has left them there because you have to many in stock and happy to rip customers off? Remove out of date foods that are months out of date and put in a reduced section so it's then upto customers if they wish to purchase them at a reasonable cost. Not left on the shelf at full price! It's more of an issue that months out of date could make a special dietary requirement person very ill to consume. As for being short staffed..im sure plenty of local people would be happy to have a job checking dates to avoid this issue.

I have to say on this occasion two of the staff that had yellow coats on which said " we are here to help "should have we are not here to help.I had a query, and had to run to get their attention, and when I said excuse me the girl turned around and gave me such a filthy look, as if to say what do you want! Anyway the young lad took the item that I wanted to see how much it was, and I had to really walk fast to keep up with him to find out. Obviously we were taking their time up! My partner and I camped nearby in August and dropped in to buy some food, spent £90. We have since received a £140 collections notice after not recieving a PCN from the parasites parking eye. I've never been to an Asda where I needed to pay to park, and there is obviously not sufficient signs to make everyone aware of it, going by these reviews. This is very poor from Asda. We won't be visiting any Asda going forward. Any company that teams up with parking eye shows their level of contempt for customers.

I popped in here for a quick lunch when extremely hungry. I spent over £80 grabbing household bits I needed. Got a parking ticket! I will never spend one penny of my money at any Asda ever again! I earn decent money so you’ve shot yourselves in the foot. Disgraceful company and customer service and I’m not quiet in my opinions. I will now make it a personal endeavour to make sure as many people as possible avoid this horrendous, greedy, money grabbing, intimidating shop. Completely disgusted and won’t be happy until they have ceased trading in the UK. To make matters worse I then receive a reply from a manager saying ‘most’ stores offer 1 hour free parking (I have never stayed in any supermarket longer than an hour) and certainly not this one. Also no option to reply to the reply. Insulting! Goodbye disgusting company!

As a visitor who needed to shop, and uses their own Asda, parked here with a blue badge. Took us 15/20 mins to register as long queue at customer services. Two long walks as all the parking spaces for disability parking are a small number by the door- the rest are parent and child. today recieved a parking notice which shows us leaving parking site at 2 mins past time!! We had problems getting out as they were doing work in the car park and could not go the way the arrows dictated + had to queue for some time to get out as car park busy. Not only that the PBA (british Parking Association, to which your car parking company are a member apparently as displayed on their letterhead), give a grace period of 10 minutes! please could someone have the grace to explain this? We had to wait to pay and then wait to buy something at the chemist, + 15 minutes to register blue badge, the vehicle was seen entering and leaving- but no account being taken for find a space of reading the signage!!! Both the families we were visiting or ourselves will not be visiting your store any time soon. Luckily there is plenty of choice for supermarkets

After being treated in an appalling manner by an alleged assistant in the checkout area this afternoon, I will not be visiting this store in future. She obviously didn't read her job description properly, as her mission was clearly to be as belligerent and condescending to me as possible rather than to assist and help me. I'm not often left speechless but her attitude and behaviour - which included an insolent hand gesture and was in front of other customers - left me with two options: immediately find the nearest manager and make a formal complaint, or take a deep breath, stay silent, turn around and walk away - which I did, taking my future custom with me. In the (unlikely) event that this paragon of customer service ever reads this review, I say this: they should take note that their unprofessional conduct has directly cost Newton Abbot ASDA a customer. Maybe they'd had a rubbish day - well so had I, actually, no doubt as had many other people both working and shopping in the store today - and especially in these difficult times - but this person's conduct was so outrageously offensive it belies any excuse. Perhaps they just don't care. They certainly ought to look up the words "empathy", "kindness" and "respect"; they might learn something. I've wasted enough words on them. Sorry to say this to ASDA - and to those staff who DO treat customers with politeness, understanding and decency - but I'm afraid it's goodbye from me.

I frequent Asda, it is my closest "big" shop. I have been using this branch for almost 5 years and I have to say, it is rather on and off for a good shopping experience. Yes, it's a supermarket, yes the footfall is bigger so maintaining a excellent service all day must be hard. During this pandemic I have noticed it more. During the first lockdown, they were excellent, one of the best stores with their restrictions, queues and signage. After that, it felt like they gave up. When it comes to stock, they have a mind blowing amount of products, you will find it difficult not to find what you need. The staff can be very hit or miss as well, some staff are absolutely brilliant, wonderful, bubbly, helpful, smiles at all times and a true credit to the company. A good few others are very abrupt, ignore you, scoff if you have an enquire, etc. The rollbacks are very good, they do take off a great discount compared to their competitors, on a lot of items you would buy. I find with a few stores the discounts can be more more obscure products. I do find a lot of times that the shelves can be haphazardly put together, like the store was thrown on the shelf with little care. You would look for product to be met by empty torn boxes, just left there. At times you will go back the next day and it is in the same position, unmoved. My latest experience as of writing this review, was when I was looking for a specific tortellini to have a box just obstructing most of the range. I saw a worker with a trolley of goods, as they were stocking the shelves. They had boxes already condensed down so I politely shown them the box to pass it over "why do I want this.... put it back where it was" in a very snappy manner. Rolled their eyes at me and stormed off. Honestly I am not a stranger to retail, I have been working in the sector since I was a teenager. If someone hands me a box in previous roles, I would be happy to remove it. I know it is a difficult time however, there is no excuse for snapping. I have rated 3 as it's a great store for all its produce, the incredible in-store made pizzas, quick little mention of the usual members of staff working on that area. They are incredible, very helpful and always the nicest. Truly always makes me happy and encourages more pizza to buy haha. The range is incredible as well, the rollbacks and the Asda finest items. However their is a lot of things that can let it down too. I will always keep going to Asda as it is less of a walk, fair price and you always know you will get what you come in for and more.

I'm in a wheelchair & budget restricted. Last Saturday i had a delivery from asda & 1 of my items was missing (a £32 bottle of jack daniels honey). It's the only thing helping with my pain. So I requested a refund online, it was refused because the cash amount was "too high". Then I phoned customer services (in the Philippines of course) & the lady I spoke to said she'd escalate my request. Then today, Thursday, i phoned again, having not received a refund & was told that the store said they delivered it which they didn't. The store aren't answering calls at the moment due to COVID. So basically I've paid £32 for nothing. I hope anyone with a shred of decency doesn't shop in asda again. I'm actually really disappointed because asda have a great vegetarian range but I refuse to stop there again because I can't afford to lose money

Firstly, the app did not allow me to check in. When I arrived, a car was parked opposite the bays preventing me from parking within the collection bay (no fault of Asda). A member of staff approached me very promptly once I had been able to park and took my name. I waited an inordinately long time for my shopping. When it finally arrived, I was given a very pleasant apology and told "my colleague has just gone to get your chilled produce". Another long wait. When this arrived, it was not in carrier bags which had been paid for. I explained to the young gentleman that I needed carrier bags and that I had already been waiting for around half an hour. He strolled off with no attempt to hurry, to get some carrier bags. Upon his return he gave me a handful of carriers without any offer of help to pack. I then had to point out to him that the milk was not as ordered! He duly shuffled off to replace it. I was given another apology but it would have meant so much more if there had even been a hint of haste. I'm not sure exactly how long the entire collection took, but 3 cars came and went, collecting at least 6 crates of shopping each, before my order was complete. I have nothing but praise for the doorstep deliveries I receive, the service given by all the drivers is exemplary. Their cheery visits have been so much appreciated during Lockdown but I am in no hurry to repeat my Click & Collect experience of today.

It seems all their covid guidelines are based around the entrance to the shop and that's it. Appearances only. As soon as you enter, it's chaos. Too many times I've seen members of staff chatting away hidden in isles not working.etc Biggest bug bear is if you go in to use the cigarette counter/customer service, you have to queue up again just to exit the shop as there is no way to bypass the checkouts. This is the only Asda I’ve ever been to you have to pay parking even if you are there under two hours. Very small un-obvious pay signs which I did not see, literally popped into the shop for 10 minutes and I came out to a £70 parking fine. I’ve spent £100’s in there and they still find ways to take money out your pocket. Staff seem dull and always have miserable faces. I have shopped at Asda for years but this one makes me want to never shop at one again! It always look untidy and I went in there yesterday (4/10/20) and picked up some cakes that went out of date on the 24/9/20!!

Spent nearly £50 in Asda today to be approached at the self scan area by some spotty school kid that I hadn't paid for my bag for life, when in actual fact I had,I told him that I had to which he replied okay calm down before sending the security a message to intercept me at the door,I had proof of my purchase and left the store, with no intention of ever visiting the store again. Let other people pay your wages spotty because I certainly won't be. Shop always looks dirty and unorganised.

Had to use the self scanner!!! as the tills were busy. Every time I had to SCAN TWICE as the system was have a moment.... NOT IMPRESSED.... the other point that why I gave ASDA 1 star. Went to customer services only 1 person on that point. When I mentioned that I rang the store on the telephone No. as listed in GOOGLE. the answer on the No. Option 1.... I am sorry we cannot answer your call, find your answer on the WEB SITE. The customer services assistant seemed that she could care less and was NOT INTETESTED.....NOT good ASDA...So let's have some answering the phones, just like TESCO (5STARS)

Really Helpful barista, Erin, I think. I had a complicated and large order, and she awesomely smashed it! Shells has great handwriting!

Bovey Castle is certainly a beautiful and interesting location. However, with all their grounds parking spaces are a premium. Eventually, we were offered a space in a coned off area. A very well appointed building as your would expect for a Five Star Hotel. We began with an aperitif 'Gusbourne English Sparkling' which was superb. A absolutely delightful bar. Smith's Brasserie! Well, let's begin with the positives. Excellent welcome and staff were fantastic throughout our Birthday lunch. Extremely unimaginative menu to say the least. A nice enough starter. Perhaps would have expected freshly made mayonnaise, not from a bottle, in such an establishment. Pleasant enough bottle of rose, although there was a choice of ONE. My wife (Birthday Girl) and I opted for pasta dishes. Absolutely clueless when it comes to pasta dishes. Packet spaghetti with prawns (four small ones) and a Provencal sauce? Very little of it too. It is an Italian dish and the sauce requires mixing in the pasta. Tagliatelle, again from a packet, with some type of utterly non-descript cream sauce at the bottom of the dish. Totally unseasoned dishes. The cooking water needs to taste of the sea. Therefore, seasoned. No offer of cheese or pepper or pangrattato, nothing, and certainly no theatre. Huge improvements required I'm afraid to make an enjoyable dining experience. Dress Code: Expectations, as you would imagine were high. Staff were smart, but could have been better attired for such a hotel. Clientele: Lots of jeans and un-ironed tee shirts wondering around and dining. A pair of football shorts and dirty trainers at one table, others with feet on the chairs in the bar and the final straw was a couple arriving in towelling dressing gowns and flip flops. NO! Sorry. There's a time and a place and this is not acceptable. Unfortunately, this was a lunch to judge if a weekend stay would be appropriate for our anniversary and it simply is not good enough.

We came for Sunday carvery when we visited Dawlish. The food was good, although the beef was a bit chewy. The Yorkshire puddings were huge. Service was quick and friendly and the Covid-19 set up was good. We would return if we came back to the area.

Lovely food, classic pub grub but done well and reasonably priced. Liver was excellently cooked, slightly pink and soft and packed full of flavour. Service was good, we were checked back on, meals came promptly and cleared when finished. Nice cold wine and kids meals substantial for the price! Only marked down one star as bar is always busy (not a bad thing), but just makes it sometimes awkward leaning over drinkers to order food. However, always highly recommended for both food and drinks.
