Kelty is no know for its takeaways. Or, rather, it is known for them, which is why we are all delighted that the Braehead Chip Shop has opened with owners Mike and Colin. You'll have to wait because everything is cooked fresh and they serve the best chips since the days of decent chips when you came out the picture house. They're service is friendly efficient and they do make the customer feel really welcome. Well done, guys. Now you need to ne more than a takeaway: you need to take over!

Heading to Perth we decided to stop of in KELTY FIFE at our favourite chip shop. How very disappointed were we !!!!!! Ordered fish suppers and sausage suppers and their peas.the portion size was a disgrace !!!!!! What's happened to the two good bits of fish in a supper ??? And the handful of chips !! Don't get me wrong it was cooked fresh and was delicious . unfortunately my twin ten year olds who usually share a fish suppers due to the large quantity of chips asked for more as they were still hungry !!! My husband needed some buttered bread to fill him up . Unfortunately it's like the dairy milk bars same price !!! But less to eat !!! Our wee visits to Kelty Braehead chippy have now been cancelled ....

We went here for a cup of tea as it is dog friendly. That was a big plus. However you can only seem to order via the screen opposite the counter and this was not easy with lots of people milling around. We found seats towards the back and the lighting was poor which was probably just as well as it felt slightly grubby. My husband wanted to use the toilet and said it was filthy and certainly the queue of people waiting to use the one toilet would not have allowed a clean. Overall not somewhere I would return to as a parent of a student.

Visited this lunchtime with service users. Food was ok although 2 of the baked potatoes were very small with hardly any filling, the 3 filled rolls all good, no complaints. The issue arose when it came to paying, quite disorganised. The gentleman became visibly stressed, struggled to find the price of most items. We needed individual receipts + as the till didn't print these, they needed to be hand written, he didn't know what to do + when he asked for help he was told "he's busy" + "I've not a clue, sorry", there was a woman standing close by who looked like she could've helped but didn't. I made eye contact a couple of times but she just let him muddle on through. I ended up saying to him to forget about the receipts and I would do them myself on return to work. He was so anxious, really felt for him. He needed support + didn't get any. Wasn't a pleasant experience. I've worked with adults with additional support needs for nearly 20 years + have an autistic stepson. I'm all for places like Sensoriale but please support the staff to be the best that they can be.

Excellent. I wasn't expecting much considering it's a supermarket cafe but my breakfast was perfectly cooked. The hashbrowns and tastie scone where a real highlight. I got the big breakfast and a latte. The cost came to just under £12. Not bad compared to the other cafés in Dunfermline. Ladies who are serving are friendly, polite and very accommodating. The coffee is real, vibe in so comfy and cosy. You forget you are in the middle of the shop. I went during the summer holidays, so the were lot's of lovely families. Only con. The is only two people working in quite a large cafe. The serve is quick still. But they really should have more help. It's within walking distance of the high street and bus station. Overall very please. Will be back very soon.
