The Box Tree Cafe in North Somerset

Aruana and her uncle were very welcoming at the cafe opened for less than a week! They deserve to do well. Lovely coffee and cake!

Myself and a friend were out on a 30 mile run and stopped here to get a drink as the temperature was 27 degrees. The lady in the cafe refused to sell us a drink at 325,closing time was supposed to be 4,as she was closing due to the heat and had cashed up ,despite us having the correct money . One of the wonderful garden centre staff got us some water from the cafe and the lady in the cafe was very angry saying he shouldnt have got involved and im sure would not have given us water if she had the choice . I really cant believe ive actuality met someone so uncaring and that I'm actually writing this . Water is a basic human need and a human right

Inconsistent. Visited few times in last few weeks. Has been good but yesterday, sandwich bread not as fresh and plastered with butter inside. Had to remove before eating. Crisps were old and not as ‘crisp’! Mentioned it to server but was met with a shrug. Disappointing but cake was good.

The garden centre is beautiful, and we were pleased to see a little cafe inside to give us some morning refreshments after a long journey. We unfortunately turned up the exact same time as a large group of cyclists who had previously reserved tables, so had to queue quite a while to be served, due to them all ordering and paying separately. It was not a huge problem because the cafe staff worked as quickly as they could to make sure everyone was served promptly. Unfortunately for my husband, one of the cyclists in front of me ordered the last bacon sandwich so he had to choose an alternative. We were too early for lunchtime soups, but they did sound very delicious, Reading off the menu. So did other lunchtime specials. I do wish though, restaurants/cafes would not ask if you would like “BUTTER” on the bread/toast when it is blatantly margarine they are using. Be honest with the customers please as it’s always a disappointment to the true butter eaters of this world. We are not fooled. The orange cake that we shared,was very delicious. All in all a pleasant visit to a small cafe inside the very attractive garden centre.

Always love coming in for a mid week treat every now and then . Always have the same-cheese and bean jacket potato but always nice with home made coleslaw and side salad . Have however had the toasted paninis, soups and pasta always friendly service. Recently have improved the kitchen area but prices don’t seem to have increased.

Called in to garden centre to get some seed potatoes and daffs, then decided to get something to eat. Fancied their hot meals, we had a lamb curry and the ginger chicken. It is a very small cafe and hot food comes out of their freezer, but it seemed home made and was hot and tasty. Very friendly, helpful staff.

I would expect to be served a fresh scone first thing on a Monday Morning and not to be asked if I wanted it warmed up . Warmed up doesn't mean it's fresh . Very dry and an uninspiring visit . Get the basics right .
