This reminded me a lot of the Brown Cow due to the eclectic vibrancy of the patrons jovially imbibing of a Saturday afternoon. There was a positive bevy of voluptuous vixens sporting all manner of synthetic enhancements along with the obligatory trout pouts. These were regular single mums whose children were playing happily in the pub whilst their mothers were enjoying themselves with Charlie Chav in the corner. Other, just as friendly, locals included Gary from Burnley with the Racing Post and big Bazza, heartily chortling to himself at the bar. The building itself is well appointed and most historic and the beer is good value at around £4.20 a pint. I didn’t get any food as I brought my own sausage in which I subsequently took back to one of the regulars house (Krystal) where she also enjoyed it, gobbling away like a hungry horse. Would definitely recommend if you’re on the pull, particularly if you’re not fussy and it’s Giro day.

Popped in with offspring, partly to give it a once over, as it was nearby, but also as we were peckish. Had really good value, tasty burgers. Only one chicken burger available, so was given a double beefburger for me instead after they'd checked replacing one with the other was OK. Decent pint too. Overall a very good value place, seemed friendly and would be happpy to return when in the area.

My twin brother Stephen and I were in this part of town on a freezing cold and rainy afternoon and as this pub looked so inviting we thought we would give it a try and what a great find. A traditional pub, dating from 1901 and housed in a beautiful late Victorian era building, the interior is superb, multi roomed, an island style serving bar, pubby decor and furnishings,tv's and big screens to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, its just a really good pub to chill out in. We were here on a Tuesday afternoon, the welcome was as warm as the pub ,staff here super friendly, we ordered at the bar and got a pale ale each from Thwaites Brewery, these were served in pristine condition, we settled by the roaring log fire and just kicked back, chilled out, warmed up while sipping our ale's. My ale was really good, a crisp, malty ale, hints of chestnut, such a delicious brew,it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a quality ale . We both really enjoyed our ale's in here, only stayed for the one each before moving on and for a first time visit to The Bowerham Pub we had a great time. The Bowerham Pub is easy to locate along Bowerham Road. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, Midday till 11pm. A wonderful pub, one I highly recommend you visit if you're in the area or planning to visit Lancaster.

The Bowerham Hotel is a superb local pub on Bowerham road that offers a very good food and drinks menu. This excellent pub is housed in an imposing building that date's from 1901 and originally built as a hotel'this is a superb local pub with a superb interior that looks like it has had a renovation. This brilliant pub has an open-plan interior with exposed brick walls and many original fixtures and features and a fantastic open fire and it's a great pub to relax and have a few beers or a Pizza. This pub has a darts board and pool tables and with jazz nights and live music events and quizz nights its a great pub to visit as it caters for everyone. We visited this pub while on our way to the Lancaster brewery and as it was a couple of minutes walk away we went in here for a few beers. On our visit this pub was starting to get a bit busy but we had no problem in getting a table. When we visited we had an excellent Thwaites brewery cask ale which were perfectly served and well priced. This is a proper local boozer and is well worth a visit and easy to find from Bowerham Hotel bus stop it's a minute's walk.(This is my first review of the Bowerham Hotel). Opening Hours. Monday-Sunday-12.00-23.00. Nearest Bus Stop. Bowerham Hotel bus stop.

I remember this as the original pub - was my local - and there were quiet places to sit or you could be around the bar. Since the alterations I have called in twice but my opinion remains the same - it is now a large open area and no matter where you sit you can hear the TV, other people talking and the place is so open and large there is a constant echo. Much the same as in other modern pubs. As a quick stop place it is ideal as there is a bus stop outside - have passed on several occasions since my last visit and it always looks empty which is a shame.

Came with grand children, food was good, reasonable prices. The 9 inch children's pizza got the thumbs up. The pub has had a great make over. If only the wifi was a bit better.

Take out menu was well priced, but unfortunately it's nothing to brag about. Avoid the garlic bread too, very dull experience.

Having just visited this pub after it's refurbishment I have mixed thoughts. It's a lovely building and the interior is well decorated. However the TV was on and was very loud (showing the rugby). I was looking forward to the end of the game but then a group started celebrating a 21st birthday celebration with loud music. I'm not a party pooper but sometimes it's nice to just pop out for a quiet drink and not sure this place will quite hit the mark. Will try again midweek maybe and see if there's any improvement otherwise can't see us returning.

No food No atmosphere and poor beer. The old bowling green at the back resembles a Rain forest which tells you about the rest of the pub.

The Bowerham is great for groups because its not very busy, has a large bar and lots of space with plenty of seating. There are a couple of real ales on tap along with the usual alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. There is a large pool table as well as Sports TV.
