Strawberry Gardens in Lancaster

Really lovely festive meal out the day before Christmas Eve 2024. Great food and selection and super accommodating for dietary needs and wheelchair accessibility and good communication beforehand with preorders etc. Chloe, our server was great too and my super fussy Dad highly recommends the Beef and Ale pie, the best one he's ever had.

Came in with my family on Christmas Eve to a busy pub (which is fine) found a table which was inbetween two 'reserved' tables. The table next to us was reserved for 3.30 pm, at 3.45pm a member of staff came over, looked at us and said 'this table is reserved with this one, and they are here now, so you need to move now!' She was soooo rude I was a bit taken aback. We got our stuff and moved outside, as this was the only other place left to sit, didn't finish our pints and left. This isn't the first time this has happened many times I have been in on busy event nights I.e Christmas, new year, paddy's day, and 50% of the tables are reserved with a scrappy bit off paper. Surely your losing so many walk in customers cause there is no where to sit, which is custom your guaranteed in a busy period, like Christmas. The people next to us were also give '5 minutes' then they had to move too. Seems a shame, we would have stayed in There otherwise, but instead when to an alternative venue which doesn't book tables, it's a first come first served basis. Maybe re think your booking/reservation system during busy periods.

Great chef! Always great portion sizes and perfectly cooked each time. Lots of space to park. Very warm and cosy inside.

My first visit , lovely feeling walking in warm , lovely Christmas decorations, I loved the pictures onthe walls the history of Heysham/morecambe area. I ordered via App smooth process. Food served by Zoe a credit to your team , freindly attitude. The chef & kitchen team cooked a tasty , served at perfect temperature katsu Chicken curry with chips ,a really good portion . The dessert I tried the delicious Jam Roly poly with custard . The whole visit was perfect. Also I must mention the toilets , so clean ,.beautiful smelling air freshener, so it seems everyone in the team is doing their part to run a great pub . I will be back !

I liked watching the football on Tv also the bar staff were very polite, informative and very helpful. I enjoyed the discount given this week even though the original price without the discount is higher than most public houses around the Heysham and Morecambe area .

Just had a drink , lovely place

Stopped in for a ‘boozy hot chocolate’ we had the one with baileys. It was delicious, topped with cream marshmallows and a flake. No food this time, but we have eaten here before and it was really good. We will be back for another hot chocolate and food next time

We booked for the festive fayre, party of 6 and it was really nice! Festive tables set up lovely, food was really tasty, hot and the 3 course was a really good price. Good atmosphere, Christmas music, nicely decorated. We will definitely book again next year!

Fish was absolutely beautiful,just the peas were tasteless and too many of them not enough chips.

I had a wonderful experience at the strawberry! The food was delicious, and the service was friendly and attentive. The Texan Smokey BBQ burger was a standout—full of flavor and perfectly prepared. The cozy atmosphere made it a great spot for a relaxing meal. Highly recommend!

Beautiful food, lovely staff and a great atmosphere. Staff were very chatty and friendly, also gave recommendations for the desserts. Definitely recommend.

Polite staff and very quick to take orders. Bar lady Georgia was especially helpful with recommending drinks.

I didn’t have food so I cannot give 5 stars. Atmosphere 100% 5 stars definitely and service, I wish I could give 10 stars - to Chloe especially, she was outstanding and made my afternoon complete. She was bubbly, helpful and a stunner to boot. What else could you want?😂

We entered from the carpark.Through the outdoor seating area.Down some steps and through the door.You are now facing the bar.If you walk forward without looking down,you get a nasty surprise.There is another small step down,which is not obviously visible.It blends in with the general floor colour. Luckily i did not fall.Just stumbled forward.There aren't any warning signs. Could cause an accident. The place itself is drab and lacking atmosphere. Only 2 Female staff on duty.So had to continuously wait for service. The two staff were not very friendly and didn't seem to care much about anything.The food came on cold plates. The reply from the lady serving me was.I dont work in the kitchen. HOT FOOD ON A COLD PLATE IS A NO! NO! Just plain common sense and should form part of any good restaurant. Food was nice.Nothing special.Just good pub grub. The lack of staff and their.Why am i here attitude spoilt the experience. I'm sure i can find better and closer to home.

This is our local pub. Lovely pub food at reasonable prices and staff are really helpful. every time we go. Really worth a visit.

Went on a thursday lunchtime. We hadnt been for a while so were not sure how good/bad the place was. Pleasantly surprised. Very friendly barstaff, were lovely with my mum and aunty. The meals were bigger than we expected, we'd ordered 2 pensioners specials and an upgraded ciabatta meal. Choice was good and food was hot and really tasty. Service was excellent, but not many in on a thursday lunchtime. Drinks were well presented and reasonably priced. Well worth a visit.

Not good food, the roast potatoes were so hard they were inedible, the beef was so chewy it was very hard to cut. Nice pudding though.

staff were nice however i ordered a lava cookie and there was a piece of tin foil that i nearly choked on. please take more care as i do not want to see michael jackson yet and would like to live a little bit! thankyou!

Went into the Strawberry Gardens for an impromptu lunch in Bank Holiday Monday. Great food service from Olivia our waitress. Brought our food promptly, was polite and checked back a couple of times to see that everything was ok. Lovely young lady and great addition to the fabulous staff team at the strawberry.

Arranged a party for my granddaughter but we got there slightly early and were kept outside in the rain until bang on 12. The food was nice and was hot but not a lot of it so glad we ordered extra chips etc..

Nice food, nice drinks and lovely staff. We had 2 mains for £13.50. I had salt and pepper chicken which was really tasty and my partner had gammon, which he said was the nicest gammon he's had in a long time. Good portions aswell for the price! All

We thoroughly enjoyed sitting in the beer garden and relaxing whilst enjoying our meal. We both had burgers and chips. Well cooked and nicely presented by friendly staff who were run off their feet.

11 of us went to eat 4children and 7 adults the service was very good and the food was excellent value and very good we will definitely go again

Came in for food with some family and I was not disappointed. I personally ordered from the lunch menu which is amazing value! The staff are friendly and our food was out in less than 10 minutes. Will definitely be back as it has everything you need for a nice family meal x

Surly staff not a smile in sight slow service more interested in having conversations with obvious friends burger overcooked and dry other meals average at best nobody cleared their plate

Had some lovely food here really nice, Drinks where good too, Sadly let down by a miserable staff member, who really should not be dealing with customers and holiday makers out for a nice time. One of the plates for my little girl was thrown on the table ! Shame really spoilt by the bar lady serving and looking and acting miserable. Overall I would go again but hopefully better staff.

Great customer service from very busy staff. Fish and chips were very tasty and the side of curry sauce was delicious. Kids meals were great value too.

Only been a few times and each time stood waiting for ages even when staff are stood close

Food awful, undercooked, one member of staff extremely rude, said we could have a new meal, refund or free desert, spoke to me like dirt, it should be replacement meal and goodwill gesture, then had 3 guests effing and geoffing very loudly, next to us, had my daughter with me, staff walked past several times, no staff spoke to them, shoes stick to the floor, dirty, definitely not a 4 star, awful place, waste of money, never again

Absolutely love it in here; the food is amazing, staff are friendly and it has a great atmosphere. The beer garden is large and great for those summer days with sheltered areas of it’s raining 😊

Booked a table for 6.15 for my birthday for a family of 6 we arrived to say there wasn't one Sat on a table and found the booking on another table ordered food said it would be forty minutes we said that's ok, an hour later mine came but nobody else's, 15 mins later the rest of the food came out except my husband's when they checked they said it wasn't ordered but was paid for he ordered Gammon but they offered him a chicken burger if he wanted a chicken burger he would have ordered one,then offered him a pint but he was driving so basically got nothing, eventually they gave us free desserts but totally ruined my birthday meal.

Staff were nice but fleeting , waited 50 minutes for 4 children roast dinners and it wasn't really busy also with this a tabled of 5 who sat after us and ordered after us got there order and finished it by the time the children roast dinners arrived. Food was disappointing. Unfortunately will not be returning. Will stick with our usual.dog and partridge

Menu and food is so good ! All our meals (burger,sirloin and kids nuggets ) were really good, definitely a level above your standard pub food and all 3 meals with loads of extras cost just over £30.. the barmaid there is so good at her job too! Seriously good service and food and value!!

Friday Lunch time 50min wait for food when it arrived cold peas replaced, burger was cold , very poor , left before the pudding arrived could not afford the wait, would have been nice to be told about the wait before order placed and money taken , won't be back.

Been my local for many years, great staff, great pint of Guinness. Have food every now and then, always really good!

Was served by Shelly. She was very attentive to detail and remembered to ask about allergies (which my daughter has a serious nut allergy). Checked everything wax OK and gently persuaded us that we would definitely enjoy an Eton Mess!! (We did too!) Great service Shelly.

Nice big pub. Car park to rear with beer garden. Shared nacho starter with extras. Very nice. 3 mains. Triple burger.. Kyiv burger and Ham Pie.. all very good but the pie was let down by the daft plating up. Pie was full of meat which redeemed it and mash and gravy was tasty. Tiny portion of veg. It takes effort to cut it so small.

Food was ok, not a big portion, (hunters chicken) bar staff looked stressed, no please and thank you. Atmosphere was ok, plenty families in,

Chose here as was a Greene King and always had a good experience with their pubs until now....7 minutes stood at the bar whilst the bar lady served the locals that had only just come to the bar first. It stated the kitchen was closing at 8 due to no washing machine, yet the kitchen stayed open for our order as was 'quiet night'. Kids meal looked lovely and he was satisfied. It was the adult meals that completely let it down, hunters chicken dry, bacon and blue cheese burger.... Well 1 streak of bacon and no blue cheese. Very loud TVs. Over all disappointment.

Came into the strawberry gardens for some food, there was 8 of us eating food and all the staff were really accommodating, food was brilliant and the atmosphere was amazing. Came in on a Friday evening there was karaoke and well priced alcohol for all with a wide range of selection. When it came to the hospitality Josh stood out in particular for ensuring all of our food was to a good standard and ensuring we were enjoying ourself also making sure we had everything we needed. Will definitely be back again very soon

Place is really nice with a fantastic beer garden. Service was great, food was excellent, shame about the bloke in the other room that could be heard in Blackpool but would definitely ho again when in the area.

Went for Sunday lunch and halfway through our meal they turned on the speakers for football and they were so loud you couldn't hear the person you were with. The food and the staff work extremely pleasant. I would absolutely come here again .

Food was lovely, we had an lunchtime special. Steak ciabatta chips and a soft drink £7.49. Great value for money. We were served by the lovely Shelly, she was very welcoming and warm.
