Gemma does great service and is amazing and the whole Pendel witch is great . Was here for a friends party and it was amazing

Great Name, Nice enough pub, roomy, fairly quiet (on a Saturday) nice vibe, real ale was sparse with only one on out of 3 & that was on the turn. Wide enough selection of other beers & lagers.

I was Disappointed with the even bigger breakfast. It was dry dint get mushrooms and took 50 minutes to arrive ☹️

How you can masquerade under this brand name supplying diabolical food and not face the consequences is atrocious, misleading the people of Lancaster! The reviews are all the same on the deliveroo app. Avoid these con artists at all costs!!! Deliveroo were useless in trying to resolve aswell.

Went on sunday night. Fair priced food and drink. Nice atmosphere. Had just felt little while on the food but. Couldn't doubt the overall experience.

Used to be a decent pub. Staff are so rude and shunt you off before 12, keep nagging at you to finish your drinks in a very rude manner. Do better pendle.

The pub has had different names over the years but it's never lost its charm, the staff are always friendly and helpful it now offers the best beer garden in Lancaster all that with competitive prices on food and drink

Great pub in the town of Lancaster. I was recently visiting the castle and my friend and I wanted somewhere to grab a bite to eat after our visit. The food and drinks were great and affordable. The pub felt welcoming yet busy with a buzz of atmosphere from the local students out for the evening which was nice. Also felt like a great place to meet for dinner with a friend but equally a great place to go for a drink. There was also a very large outdoor seating area which looked very nice and perfect for the summer!

Meal was great and the staff excellent

Had Cumberland sausages, mash and peas. I should have taken it back. They were not Cumberland and they were tough. The peas were not cooked properly and the mash was stodgy. Nice outside terrace and reasonable prices. The wait at the bar was too long, not enough staff. There were 6 of us. Everyone else were happy. Will go again but not for the sausages.

It's a nice pub, but the 6 ghost kitchens they run selling the exact same stuff appearing on Just Eat are very annoying and misleading

Clearly no vaping ban. A thick pall of vape smog and people openly vaping in front of staff. Avoid.

Absolutely love this place, especially on a quiz night. The food is great, the atmosphere is brilliant. We are regulars and recommend it to anyone.

Went in to have food , 5 of us , we was at the bar trying to order food ,music was way too loud ,the bar staff couldn't hear us , got the food ordered 4 x mixed grill , asked for well done steak , the steak was cremated, couldn't cut it , not just my plate 4 of us has the same the chicken was dry very small portion of food for the price too ,gave mine to a dog , even he struggled to chew it , brought it to attention to the bar staff, and she gave us £25 back, cause she said we ate most of it , the dog did tbh . I recommend new chef , turn the music down so people can order. Even the lady who owned the dog couldn't believe the state of the food , I actually don't complain normally about food ,but the chef got 4 plates so bad .

My sister and I were trying to visit all the haunted pubs, so this was a must to visit. We visited for a drink and to see the artwork on the walls

The food here is absolutely beautiful highly recomvend the mac and cheese or the hunters loded chips all the staff are friendly and food is fairly cheep

That bar is pretty loud with a lot of students, the food was pretty quick and all good but it wasn't really an enjoyable atmosphere to hang out in.

I was part of a group of 20 plus people who met up for a celebration at 2 pm Good Friday. Most were only drinking, but one or two were hungry and ordered food. The food arrived in a timely manner and was well received. The pub was lively with a good atmosphere, and getting served was pretty quick. Prices are on the low side compared to much of Lancaster, and you can order from the table with an app. On the whole, it was a good experience

If you want a relaxing meal this place in not for you. Very noisy and busy. About 7 TV screen blasting out. Obviously fine if that is what you want. Staff were polite and ok but out of 9 meals that we ordered 5 were not up to standard .

Have just left the Pendle Witch and really disappointed. The majority of food was bad. Fatty steak and another steak barely cooked. Chips had a hair in, asked for fresh bowl and never arrived. Never got asked how the food was or checked on. Whilst I understand it was a busy Saturday night this wasn’t acceptable service or food. Wouldn’t recommend!

Modern pub, Doom Bar at £3.15…can't really argue. Lots of screens for sport. Kitchen looked busy. Pool table, free on Thursday I believe. Dog friendly.

Went for the opener of the rugby World Cup. Decent prices, service can be better.

The steak was very good. The bar staff friendly and professional. I was only visiting on a day out back to my student days of ‘75 so only ate. There were people who seemed to ‘regulars at their local’ and that made the atmosphere less sterile for an early evening midweek visit in what otherwise would have been an empty pub.

Have never been in before but it was a Monday afternoon and pouring with rain so the beer garden wasn't an option. My friend went to the bar and I went to find a table which needed a really good clean. I found another table which was ok but there were crisps all over the floor and the table next to us was not clean either. We only had a drink so can't comment on the food. The staff were pleasant and friendly. Just felt the whole place could do with a good clean. Maybe short of staff?

Cheap and cheerful, outside seating gets plenty of sun from lunchtime onwards.

Booked a table for 5 to celebrate my birthday with my son who lives locally and was pleasantly surprised. The food was very good, the service was excellent and the prices were very reasonable. I will certainly consider going back next time we're in town. We didn't have desert because the choice was limited but then again, the main course was very filling.

Brilliant welcome for us and the dog.not only by the staff but by the locals, he was greeted like a member of take that had just walked in.

Decent pub, food was okay, beer well kept, though because the football was on it was a little noisy but not rowdy.

Based on very old memories, my return visit was disappointing - I was there on a quiz night and televisions had football on. Okay if that's your thing - I like football but hate pub quizzes - but the noise chased me out,, which is a shame because they served a nice pint of beer.

Had a lovely meal here while staying in Lancaster to celebrate my dads 80th. Food was good and to top it off the staff put a candle in the cake I ordered for my dad and sang happy birthday, very nice touch . Staff were great, very friendly . Will be back

Despite being incredibly busy with the big match on and not having been notified by head office that we had reserved a table for dinner, Mathew moved the pool table and added more tables in order to accommodate us temporarily until there was another table available. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a good experience and that our dog was settled so we could relax, which was really important to us so we could spend some quality time with our son who is at Uni at Lancaster. Oh and the food wasn't bad either! Thank you, we will definitely be back!

Fantastic visit tonight. Kirsty behind the bar was superb and informed me of deals that i would have otherwise missed. Food was fantastic. Loved the sticky toffee pudding and a reasonable range of drinks available on tap. Will definitely be back.

Heading north to The Lakes we stopped for a bite to eat at the Pendle Witch as it is a dog friendly pub. It was a quiet weekday lunchtime and therefore not very busy, which suits us fine. The staff on duty were friendly and prompt with both our food and drinks. The food was hot and tasty and served with a smile. As usual for a UK pub, minus one mark for the typically disgusting toilets. No need for the management to fret, it's only what we expect. Other than that it was a pleasant meal, the background music wasn't too loud, it was clean and well presented (excluding the toilets).
