Been to this place 3 times now and the food, service and atmosphere is always brilliant. We were given a new sandwich menu this time and wow. My friend and I shared a fish goujen sandwich which was beautiful. We also shared a halloumi, smoked cheese and hash brown sandwich which was absolutely out of this world. We will 💯 be back and I would 💯 recommend this lovely place.

This place is really going downhill . We noticed on our last visit they the service wasn’t great but the food was still good . Yesterday evening the food was even poorer than the badly trained and dis interested staff. Food was rushed and luke warm at its best and they couldn’t wait for us to finish so they could finish . The place now lacks any atmosphere like it used to , service is below standard and it now appears the food has headed in the same direction . Very disappointing at what used to be an enjoyable place to visit .

Called yesterday tea time with my partner and daughter, and what a shame this place seems to have gone really down hill. Children's meal was 2 tiny pieces of chicken fillets sprinkled with pepper and just a lot of hard Crusty chips. Partner had the burger but said it lacked in flavour and the fries were cold. Starters were OK. Then the service, well it was not so good as what once use to be. No friendly service witth a smile, seems to be a lot of young inexperienced staff, stood or sat talking and on there phones. Unfortunately don't think we will be in a rush to go back any time soon.

Not only was the food and service amazing the fabulous the chef actually stayed on later to make sure my daughter’s steak was cooked to perfection as she was running late! We went as a party of 13 and it was one of the best customer service experiences I've had in a restaurant. Patrick was fantastic and made our evening so much more enjoyable. The food was great and considering there was so many of us nothing was wrong and all meals were cooked to a high standard. A tad gutted they don't do the Xmas burger anymore as that was my go to but other than that you the selections are really good for all.

Such a wonderful place for a Sunday roast. Staff were polite and friendly and very attentive. Our food arrived within 10 minutes of us ordering - all piping hot and tasted delicious. The cauliflower cheese is amazing - so much so, we asked for more. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for somewhere to have Sunday lunch (would also recommend booking in advance). It does get quite busy, so the car park fulls up pretty quick. We managed to find a spot in a lay by just a short walk away. We will return. X

Really hoping the manager/owner sees this. We visit periodically and our most recent was Wednesday with my cousin who is in a wheelchair. Long story cut short is that we sat in the car in the car park, as he was unable to transfer to his wheelchair. A lovely sunny day and he managed to swing his legs out of the car. Lucy took our order at the order station. When I told her our predicament she couldn’t do enough to help us. Offered assistance, brought out our food/drinks on trays & in boxes and most importantly all with a welcoming smile and a positive, cheerful attitude. What a breath of fresh air! Please tell Lucy how important she was that day…. we’ll be back.

What a shame. Not so many years ago, this spot was a regular haunt of my parents. Dad passed away earlier this year, and it's only recently that mum has felt up to facing the outside world again. The Boundary seemed like the place to go, for old time's sake. It would have been best left as a memory. Mum had the beer battered cod, which was decent if slightly undercooked. I had the chicken, which was very nice but the skinny fries were flaccid and lukewarm, they would have been disappointing in McDonald's. The biggest problem however, was the lacklustre service. On entering, we were welcomed by the greeter's back. Once shown to our table, we waited ten minutes before anyone bothered to ask us if we might like a drink. When the food arrived, it was delivered at arm's length, the waitress already turning on her heels as the plate landed on the table. We managed to win her attention to ask for ketchup, and a glass of wine. The ketchup arrived, the glass of wine didn't. I could see it sitting on the bar, but the waitress walked past it three times before I once again managed to get someone to look up. We were made to feel like we had diverted her from something far more important as once again the order was delivered at arm's length. The place wasn't particularly busy, with only half the tables in our section being occupied. On the way out, five members of staff were gathered around the greeter's plinth, partially blocking the exit as my 82 year old ma struggled past. Nobody even flinched, and there was not so much as a goodbye. I suppose I should have complained, but by that point, much like the staff, I couldn't be bothered. It used to be such a nice place. What a shame.

We got seated and our waiter was lovely .polite and funny we ordered starters which came quickly then a young girl started clearing plates whilst 2 of us were still eating .we then waited till 3.15 to get our mains at 3.40 we were still eating and was asked rudely by the young girl did we want to order our desserts as we had to give the table back at 3 55 pm as they needed the table I pointed out we were still eating and she said we could move in to the bar to finish our meal ??quite rudely at 3.50 pm we were just finishing when she started clearing plates and told again we had to move ?we paid nearly £300 for food and drink and was rushed and no apology I will be thinking twice before coming back .

Initially I feel like there should be a front of house at the door welcoming you on arrival as you just have to walk to the bar a tell them your here although the bar staff looked quite oblivious an didn't really know what to do 🤔 They also advertise on their website that they accept the white horse loyalty cards. Been here many times as we live in the village don't even know where to start with how bad it was this time. Arrived at 715 to have a drink before our table booking at 745, group of 6 women we all stood at the bar to be served the young lad behind the bar no older that 19 stood chatting to his mate while we stood waiting it took 20 mins for us all to be served separately. On to the meal sat at the table there was still the last groups food on the seats. No a great start. The waitresses all stood chatting couldn't get any ones attention so we cleaned it ourselves. We ordered our food one of the group is vegetarian and has been for 42 years so quite rightly she orders the vegetable spring rolls to start. The starters arrived and as 4 of us ordered the vegetable spring rolls we all started eating to our surprise the vegetable spring rolls had meat in outraged that the vegetarian of the group has already eaten two bites before realising we attempted to call a waitress over. When she came to the table our friend very upset and distressed explained and she took away her plate for 10 minutes and came back with the plate, her words were "we have investigated the food and can see this does look to have meat as these are not made in house and are bought in there's little we can do other than contact the manufacturer if you want, can we get something else for you and we will take it off the bill." Our friend declines the replacement starter. After a further discussion between our selves I approached another waitress and requested I speak with a manager she advise the young girl we had spoken to was the supervisor on shift, so I spoke with her again and said how upset we all were that this had happened and the lack of apology from anyone was not acceptable she offered a round of drinks to compensate. I walked away still unsatisfied by the lack of care from staff. Shortly after there were people walking through the resteraunt as we ate with dogs off leads it was only later we found out that they worked there too. As we sat after finishing our meal and just finishing our drinks and chatting a waitress approached us with the bill asked us to pay and move to the bar area, there was a large table of people opposite who finished eating way before us that had not been given the bill or asked to move we asked why we needed to move and they said it was to allow them to set the table for the next day. We finished our drinks and left. Un happy and will be contacting food standards with the photos and evidence we have. Unacceptable.

Regular to boundary house as we live in Methley of which usually amazing and never a single complaint. However slight disappointment tonight as the burger I order was dry enough to be inedible, even after using both kofta sauces to moisten the burger patty to no success, leaving two bites out of the burger. A first visit on the recommendation of friends. It was a nice environment and the staff were pretty helpful. Disappointingly though, we had specifically booked a place which offered a roast dinner with a main for vegetarians (nut roast listed on the menu online) and when we got there, this was no longer an option. The waitress said that's just a sample menu but it certainly wasn't listed as that online. That left us with just the roast dinner minus a main protein which we did have, and which was good, or a veggie pasta or the offer of a stuffed aubergine. I would suggest in todays market, there should be a vegetarian main which contains protein-Ca you imagine offering a meat eater a roast dinner but no meat !

As regular and local customers we were told that we need ‘to stand as that’s what you have to do in a pub sometimes’ despite there being plenty of empty tables in the restaraunt and we were only finishing one drink. We went here for my uncle’s birthday about a week ago, we arrived about 5 minutes late due to traffic, and the waiter had no problem with it and was very friendly, however the food took over an hour and a half to arrive and was slightly cold. A few members of the party decided to order puddings about 20 minutes after the mains had arrived, once again, the waiter had no problem and took the orders. But about 5 minutes after, the owner of the restaurant came to our table and told us to leave because the next people booked in had arrived, He then proceeded to gaslight us and told us we were 40 minutes late, which was incorrect as the table was booked for 12:45 and we arrived 12:50, it was due to the fact that we had to wait over an hour for the meal and we were not informed that we only had a certain amount of time at the table. Such a shame, as the food was nice and the waiter was polite, but the way the owner spoke to us was completely out of line, and we won’t be returning. Neither will the other 11 members of the party.

This place has totally lost its sparkle and soul. Having been many times over the years for either food or just drinks we were really disappointed with our recent visit. On way on a very hot sunny day, my husband said we might struggle to get a table outside as its normally so busy in the garden. When we arrived there was only a handful of people. Having being told we couldn't just drink on the terrace and it's for diners only (!) We got a drink from a very quiet bar and sat on the long tables. It was so hot I would have thought the outdoor bar would be open but there was no vibe like there used to be in the summer. Music was droll and boring. We intended to stay for a few hours but ended up going to the cricket club opposite where it was packed, that's where all the locals are going now, you can tell that's the community hub, and unfortunately the Boundary seems to only want to cater for diners. We've decided we won't be returning, and having spoken to many locals at Spinners - neither will they. Shame.

One of the best sunday roasts I've had. The cauliflower cheese was perfection. The lamb and pigs in blankets were really tasty, the veg was cooked perfectly, and the yorkshire pudding was spot on. The only part that I thought could be improved was the roast potatoes which weren't perfectly crispy but still good. Overall a nice cosy place for a meal with a modern interior, plenty of space and nice friendly staff. Also the beer was really nice (saltaire blonde) and went down a treat after walking in the rain around st. aidan's.

Visited twice now and both times exceptional. Went for lunch, food portions and generous and the lamb and chicken kebabs are superb. Service was impeccable and the outside dining area is attractive. Highly recommended.

Nice place to sit outside, food good, drink great but my only gripe is the music is a bit loud when you are trying to talk, but there again I have hearing problems.

Myself, boyfriend and dog visited today for Sunday lunch at 1610 to be told we couldn’t order as the chef said no and would only be serving reservations. I looked online to book a table there was 1 available at 1645 in the restaurant. We enquired about this only to be told yes there was table just become free but we couldn’t eat in the bar area, even though 6 people were already eating in bar area ?? Please can anyone explain this The bar staff were extremely rude and could not explain to us why this was the case ?? !! Needless to say we left and will not be returning.

We really enjoyed our Sunday lunch. The 3 meat roast was delicious. Love the fact you get cauliflower cheese! Plenty of everything, left feeling very full and happy. Service was great. The decor is beautiful, it felt like we were in a really expensive restaurant....

After a walk around the rspb reserve nearby, (st austins - also worth a visit) called in without a booking on route home. Amazing food and service. Even though it was really busy (on a wed) we were not kept waiting long for food to arrive. Lovely pub with rustic feel. Menu is varied and reasonably priced. Staff are fantastic 👏
