We were looking for a new place to try for our 10th anniversary and came across this place. Not disappointed! Not only does the place look nice and inviting, the staff were super friendly and the food amazing!

What an incredible place! We were welcomed by Laura the moment we walked in the door. We received first-class service from start to finish. A stunning, quirky and innovative interior which was beautiful to look at as well as being really comfortable. The service was outstanding - Laura was and is an amazing young woman - warm, bubbly, super-speedy and attentive, highly professional whilst also being friendly, helpful and funny. She made us feel special and cared for, especially my 88 year-old mother-in-law. The food was so delicious, beautifully presented and served, just at the right time temperature. Drinks were perfect and so refreshing! We cannot recommend this place highly enough. A huge thank to Laura - you made it what it was. We cannot wait to return!

Visited here for the first time tonight and was not disappointed. Great variety of food and cocktails to choose from on the menu. We opted for the Valentine's Day set menu that I'd seen advertised prior to booking a table. We had rose petals sprinkled on our table which was a lovely touch. Both the food and cocktails were delicious. We were served by Charlotte who was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. Our table was cleared swiftly inbetween courses. We also really enjoyed listening to the singer who was performing with his guitar. We will definitely be visiting here again!

The Botanist run a parent and baby session every Tuesday from 10.30-12.30pm which my wife has been attending with my daughter since she was 4months old (now a year old!). They put out a wide selection of toys and books which little ones can enjoy, and mum enjoys a drink and a pastry all for the friendly price of £4.50. The staff are friendly and you get to meet other local (and further a field) parents, some whose children will be attending the same nursery and/or school as my daughter. It’s a great and unique facility in West Bridgford and comes highly recommended.

Had a special birthday party at the West Bridgford Botanist. 27 persons attended. It was absolutely perfect. The food was superb, very generous portions. The staff were wonderful .A special mention to Layla who was our dedicated staff member who was at our beck and call all evening. She was the best. Thank you for making it a very special and memorable evening

Had dinner here and the food was absolutely delicious and the service was amazing. Would highly recommend. We were served by James and Kate. They were fabulous and really helped us out when deciding what to choose. The non alcoholic options were also top notch and I felt really well looked after. Could not recommend more. 10/10

We went for Sunday lunch, not realising there's a limited menu on Sunday.

Food was nice but the service really let it down. Nothing worse than having to constantly try get someone's attention whenever you want something. And having to order your drink more than once as they had forgot. Wasn't even busy either!

Lively meat for Sunday dinner, but got 5 small roast potatoes between 2 people, not much veg and it was cold veg. Staff were good but long wait for food.

My partner and I recently had a Sunday lunch here and were really happy with the food, drinks and atmosphere. The portion size was much bigger than we expected, which was a pleasant surprise! The food was cooked to perfection and the vegetarian option matched the quality of the meat option, which we really appreciated. Probably the best sunday dinner we've ever had. The cocktails and dessert we had were also really nice. Overall, we were really satisfied with the food and service and are booked in to visit again next Sunday 😊 really excited to come back again!

First time here under this regime. Very friendly , good atmosphere and very nice food. Expensive but it is Bridgford !!

Ordered the roast beef which was spongy and tough, very weird texture. Roast pots were lovely so was the veg, stuffing and gravy. Others ordered the chicken burger, which was massive and very difficult to eat, it was served on a small board, which made it harder to eat due to the size.

Great experience. Got to give it a visit.

Nice place and décor, the starter (hummus) was nice but the chicken skewers were very dry and tasteless, which was quite disappointing.

From the first contact to the last our experience with everything and everyone was absolutely unbelievably amazing!! The food was beyond beautiful! Everything was cooked to perfection. We loved the personal touches and attention to detail! When every meal was delivered it was addressed to the correct person following our seating plan. We left two boxes of decorations the day before and the lovely Charlotte went above and beyond to make our space look beautiful, way more than I could of expected! Nothing was too much to ask we felt so welcome and relaxed with the team! Honestly I don't think we could have had a better experience or service even if we'd spent thousands and thousands! The whole team should be recognised and celebrated for being such kind, hard working people! True assets to your business! We can't wait to come back for anniversary meals.❤️ xx

Went for the second time for lunch on a Sunday I was so disappointed. I had the sunday roast and trimmings and couldn’t eat the roast beef. It was so tough. The carrots were not up to standard either, They were just bland but the first time I went the carrots were outstanding. Waitress asked if we enjoyed our food and I told her no as the roast beef was tough. considering it was still on my plate she must’ve known she said she would talk to The chef. if she did, she didn’t advise me of the outcome I don’t think I’ll be back for another roast

Had a great evening here. The doorman had a good laugh on the way in and again when we were trying to open and close the big front windows. It's not an easy feat. The cocktails are great, and the service is swift. It's a fantastic atmosphere and the place looks fab. Looking forward to plenty more fun nights out

Great atmosphere and fantastic cervice, let down by the food. the chips were dry and somewhat stale, a pity given the hype about this chain of eatery.

Me and my husband went here for drinks. It was very quiet for a Friday night. I went to the bar to buy a round of drinks later on in the night. The bar was not busy. I waited patiently, the young cocktail lad who was right in front of me (about 2 foot away opposite behind the bar) appeared to deliberately blank me and did not acknowledge at any point in time that i needed serving. I still waited patiently , smiling and waiting to be served with my phone card in hand, which made it quite obvious , alongside the fact that I'm taller than most women, slim and was wearing an illuminous orange dress...lol Oh and did i mention that it wasn't busy? .. . It was interesting to see how long it would take.. but nope he went on to serve random others. Then the manager David saw someone else come to the bar and immediately served them instead, clearly David the manager thought his staff were doing their job properly. Eventually the penny dropped and David asked " are you being served?" ..half way through serving a brand new customer that is.. A note to the owner: Perhaps a look at thee CCTV footage of the staff may be worthwhile? The transaction that "ehem".. 'eventually' took place..lol, was at 21:39 hours on Friday 23rd August 2024, therefore the occurrance would be a little before then. There appears to be no monitoring of the staff as the arrogant cocktail maker seems to enjoy picking out whichever customer suits and not those waiting a long time. Just want to give a huge shout out to Jack. One of the best servers I have ever encountered. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was done with a smile and a positive attitude. It’s people like jack that make going out and having a drink an absolute pleasure! Jack is a credit to the botanist team and completely made my evening! Thank you jack.

Nice outside area and friendly staff. Drinks are horrifically expensive though, so prepare for that - would be a 4 otherwise.

Unique and delicious cocktail menu beautiful venue aswell

A friend and I visited today, and we had a great experience. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the place was tidy and clean, including the Gents' restroom. As a pianist, it was a real treat to hear another pianist playing live—I feel like I’ve only heard myself play since Covid. The pianist was fantastic, and the atmosphere was perfect. The beer garden was nicely arranged, and the beer was ice-cold. Overall, great stuff! (might have been a 5 star review had I tried the food, but I didn't - next time)

On the face of it the were very accommodating offering a table without a booking. However, we weren't told that there would be a one hour wait for food! Very hungry and disgruntled by the time food arrived. Very expensive for what it was bearing in mind we were so hungry we threw it down our necks. Incredible amount of salt on the food which made it a little unpleasant after eating a fair bit. Not offered an apology for the wait. Would probably go again but with a booking next time.

Great food and quality drinks. Food was fresh and hot. The servers were friendly and polite. I didn't appreciate the added service charge to the bill. I have no problem with tipping but it's rude to just add it to the bill.

Absolutely great service - the food was fantastic and the staff without fault. We had the halloumi kebab along with the Korean BBQ chicken and a few other sides and everything with faultlessly tasty.

Me and my husband went to celebrate our wedding anniversary as recommended by our daughter. The service Jack and Bex was second to none, they were friendly welcoming and attentive and wished us congratulations on our anniversary. Was going to pop in for a light bite, ended up staying for three courses as there were too many delicious options! The live music was a really nice touch, especially still being able to hear it clearly in the restaurant so it didn’t feel like you were missing out. The team couldn’t do enough for us, will definitely be back!

Even though the restaurant was full the staff were amazing as usual, I came in for a meal before a concert earlier in the year as well as Father’s Day and no complaints at all! The staff are so welcoming even when they’re running around and nothing is too much to ask them. Defo will be booking here for any events I plan on attending in the future.

Far too often, this platform is used to talk about things going wrong, I want to talk about a place that gets it right! I have visited The Botanist on many occasions, family meals, nights out with friends and drinks before the cricket. Each and every time, it's been great. The staff are friendly and chatty, good selection of food and drinks and some fab live music at the weekend. The team go out of their way to make things right and it's lovely to see a lot of them there from my first visit. A lovely bunch of people doing a good job, deserves some praise.

I've been to a number of The Botanist locations. This was my first time West Bridgford and it's fair to say it lived up to expectations and I will return to this particular location soon. Staff were all really helpful and friendly and accomodating of allergies. The food was delicious, served in a timely manner and very tasty. I had the katsu chicken curry, which I hadn't tried before, but was throughly enjoyable.

Interesting place, and you can see the vibe they're after. Good service, but the food, although nicely presented, was a bit ordinary tbh which was disappointing considering it was so expensive. Would think twice about going there again.

I was looking forward to celebrating at the Botanist. A live band, great reviews and the food looked amazing. But when you eat out it’s also about the service. We were seated under a speaker which was triggering my tinnitus. The restaurant was fairly empty. I asked if we could move to a certain table. The waitress seemed upset by the request but went away to check. I approached her, she had her back to me whilst she was speaking to the barman, I didn’t hear the conversation but when she turned around she wasn’t happy to see I was standing there, she started aggressively telling me that she was checking. I hadn’t said a word at this point. She repeated herself a few times. I was only waiting to tell her that any table away from speakers will be fine but she just continued to shout. It was extremely embarrassing. I returned to the table and she came and told us it’s fine we could move. We moved tables but the experience was so unpleasant I decided to leave. I told the barman we were leaving. Appalling behaviour and service.

Only been for drinks, but every time I have been it has a good atmosphere & vibe. Food looks amazing but yet to try.

We have had the most fabulous Sunday lunch. Layla could not have been more attentive and the chef was amazing with the allergies in our group. I hope next time we come Layla is our server. Absolutely made our day.

Looked at menu ,cheese bread no longer available,salt n pepper onion petals no longer available and the cheese brie fondant thing now has onion marmalade in bottom....left without ordering

Fantastic time at the Cocktail Masterclass! James was a great fun and informative teacher. Loved that we could go behind the bar and actually make the cocktails rather than being handed everything separately .Would definitely recommend :)

brought guests to Nottm to a meal and it didnt disappoint. Always something different from the normal menus with the hanging kebabs which are very well cooked. Artist on the night was pretty low standard. I would like to know which artists are coming on so we can plan other visits, (and avoid that guy).

What superb service, in a lovely relaxing and pleasant environment. I had a table booked for 7, and for reasons beyond my control, my party did not arrive. I spent a lovely hour and a half none the less, with a very kind , courteous and gentle service provided by Jack... not a hint of annoyance...and simply great. I did not eat or drink alot, but all I had was perfectly presented and delicious... and I suspect over time I will readily eat my way through their menu. Can't recommend this place enough.

Had mega chicken piri piri scotch egg and chicken wings and an extra potion of coleslaw for £4 There was nothing mega about the chicken. There were three pieces of chicken and some pepper. It was supposed to come with a flatbread. And coleslaw. It was the tiniest half of a flatbread and nowhere on the menu does it say half a flatbread? The total amount was £40.40. They forgot the flatbread and coleslaw. Questioned me and then did bring it out. Everything looked like half the size. It should be. £40.50 just for the food. We came out so hungry. The portion size was pathetic nothing like photos I’ve seen on here. I have been to this restaurant in Manchester Deansgate and had an amazing lunch. The staff just don’t seem to care. Maybe the chain has told them to have their portion sizes. Please carry on driving and visit the Bulls had Head East leek. The Yakari chicken is double the size and same price. What a shame. One good thing was the lager was really nice and cold like the chicken!! By the way, wasn’t the right temperature

Wonderful music venue. We had a dinner and a birthday celebration in The Botanist on a Saturday night. They were very busy but they were handling very well. Reservation is a must if you need to dine with them other ways pub area is free to walk but still very busy. We enjoyed our night a lot. I will re visit them very soon.

We came for Mother's day. We absolutely loved it. Food was amazing. My wife and I had the hanging kebab. My wife had the halloumi, I had the chicken. Our daughter had the Korean chicken noodles. Staff are all very good. The singer was excellent. Will return

Disappointing. Service was slow with a long wait between starter and main, food was ok although some parts were not really hot enough and everything felt overpriced. Topped off with the service charge added automatically on the bill.

My son and I called in to the Botanist in West Bridgford for a drink and a bite to eat ahead of a recent Forest game; we got there around 5:30pm, it wasn't busy and we weren't dressed in football shirts. I asked if they had a table for two (we hadn't booked, but as i say, it was not busy) and i overheard a member of staff telling the bar staff, with whom i had inquired, that "they didn't feel comfortable, seating us in the restaurant, but we could take a table in the bar area" which made us feel like we were not welcome. We did however, take a table in the bar area, and after a long wait for our food, when it came it was disappointing to say the least. I had the Piri-Piri chicken hanging kebab and my son had the crispy grilled Halloumi hanging kebab, both with seasoned fries. The total cost of these two dishes was £37.90, which for what it was, was massively over priced in my opinion and not at all good value for money. The whole experience was not an enjoyable one, but you live and learn and needless to say, we will not be returning.

Decent food and some good kids dishes

I ordered the halloumi hanging kebab. The first thing I noticed were the chips were cold. But the more worrying thing was the pieces of red and yellow pepper that were on my VEGETARIAN halloumi kebab had bits of what looked like minced beef stuck to them, maybe from a beef burger? Do they cooking vegetables in the same pan as meat? I could taste meaty oil on the peppers and red onions, absolutely disgusting, I couldn't eat it and just ate the cold chips. I was there for a friends birthday so didn't want to make a fuss at the table as it would have been embarrassing for my friend. But my meal was absolutely awful and a complete waste of money. The peppers tasted of meat juices and there was definitely bits of ground beef clinging to the peppers, I gelt so queazy for the rest of the day and felt like I could have thrown up. Vegetarian and vegans BEWARE, there some crossover going on in that kitchen.
