A great night at the bootmaker the other week, good drinks and food and a big thanks to Emily for great service too! An all round win :)

Had a great time here last weekend. Nikki made us feel so welcome even though we were a group of 7. She sorted out everything for my vegetarian friend and was super friendly. Would definitely recommend.

My friends and I had a great time at The Bootmaker. The drinks went down easy and the food didn’t disappoint either. A special mention goes to Nikki, who provided great service throughout my visit. She was attentive, friendly, and always ready to help. Her warm demeanour and professionalism were much appreciated. If you’re in Chelmsford and looking for a nice spot for a few drinks and a bit of food, definitely check out The Bootmaker.

Visited this bar over the festive period. Great food and drinks, with a busy, enjoyable atmosphere. Service was impeccable, with a special shout-out to our server, Toby, who ensured we had all we could want, always with a smile. Popped in for a quick cocktail before a night out. Great atmosphere and we were well taken care of by a charming Irish girl called Nikki ….. chatty and very welcoming.

came here over the weekend and had such a fantastic time, shout out to our server I believe her name was Nikki she was so welcoming and made sure we were ok for everything for the duration of our meal and made our dinning experience wonderful, she alone makes me wanna come back soon.

Staff was nice and had a nice experience. Izzy was really smiley and kind.

Had a great time at The Boot Maker! My girlfriend and I were served by Izzy, who was an absolute delight. She provided excellent service, and you can tell she really knows her stuff – especially when it comes to pouring the perfect pint of Guinness! Highly recommend this place for both the atmosphere and top-notch service.

Ordered a round of drinks at 00:59 Saturday night and within 30 seconds the lights came on, the music cut and we were all ushered out the bar. What happened to last orders, or even a barman warning you that the bar will shut within 20 seconds of ordering your drink? Shady behaviour.

Came for a brunch experience. The worst I have ever experienced. Do not bother!!

Nice chilled place for a drink and the food is outstanding with decent portions. The Burgers here are top notch.

Came here for a cocktail on a week day evening. Three staff standing around talking to each other. I asked if they did a dry martini cocktail and was told brusquely "Not at the moment" (I mean, what bar doesn't have gin and vermouth)? I ordered something else and the barman said "What?" Very polite (not). I waited at the bar for ten minutes before he barked over "I'll bring them over". Very poor service and definitely not what it once was when it was Baroosh.

We went to the 90s bottomless brunch. We were given one frozen daiquiri for a table of 4. We were given a tiny portion of food and it took one of our friends to receive her food an hour after the other 3 of us got ours. Music was great and the atmosphere was fun but not worth £45 per person

I wouldn’t recommend eating here. Unfortunately, I had bad food poisoning few months ago from eating fried prawns and I’ve never felt so sick in my life.

Came here for a silent disco last night. I can’t comment much on what the bootmaker is like for food, but I can comment on what it’s like as a bar/club. The disco itself was quite good with two different DJs working, so everyone had the option. But I did come out feeling misled. Here is why: We got “student price” drinks throughout the night, which were cheap, but the drinks contained very little alcohol compared to how they were advertised. On an empty stomach, I spent £35 worth of these drinks, yet stayed stone cold sober. When I asked the bartenders about the amount of alcohol in each drink, they tried to assure me that the drinks had lots of alcohol in them. Even if they did contain alcohol, they completely overplayed the amount. No one I spoke to could taste alcohol in any of these student price drinks. I also got overcharged here. I had one bartender sell me a drink for £5 that was sold to someone else for £1.20. Also, the service was extremely slow there. Multiple times we waited at the bar for like 5/10 minutes and no one would show up, they only served the bar after we asked them to.

Essex’s finest - Properly run bar/club with a good atmosphere. Bit steep but with La Danza in the mix I could completely justify it

during pride month this place has rainbow flags everywhere and we loved it! it’s probably the gayest place in Chelmsford. good vibes, nice music and good drinks. we loved it 💅

Popped in for a coffee and we were served by Tobi, what a lovely guy. Chatted as he served us and waved as we left. Lovely spot. Will return.

Bailey was very accommodating, helpful and delivered great service. He made me feel at ease and welcome the whole night i was her and helped with any enquires i had, will definitely be back.

Shabby tables and not enough bar staff, this was at 6pm last night! Gave up waiting and went somewhere else. Shocking! Not a patch on what it used to be …

Went here for a drink and was served by a lovely Welsh girl called ffion. She was kind and chatty + she made a great drink recommendation to me! The atmosphere was pretty damn good and the owners dog is adorable also. 10/10

Popped in for a quick lunch and a few drinks and had an excellent time, Ellie made sure everything was okay for us and smiled the entire time.

Always love coming here - the cocktails are 10/10 just like the staff. Ellie in particular was so chatty and endearing, we will back soon!

My friends and I visited The Bootmaker for a spur of the moment lunch and we weren't disappointed! The food was really tasty, the service from Ellie was second to none - nothing was too much bother despite the establishment being busy. I strongly recommend a visit 😄

Loved it!!! Came across this place on a tik tok review!!! Amazing food super service and loved the decor!! Was suprised on how many dogs were inside as was unaware this was a dog friendly restaurant..but all dogs were so behaved.

This restaurant is one of the favourite pubs I go to when in Chelmsford. The atmosphere is actually amazing and staff are always happy to serve and give amazing customer service! I went in on Monday and got some lovely nibbles which were all so fresh and delicious! We didn’t stop there! We go such lovely deserts and could have kept going. The drinks were served very quickly and the staff always asked if we wanted anything else. I’ll definitely be coming more often !!

Great place on the whole with a great range of draught beers including there own Rivertown pilsner and Red Stripe. Always great service the cocktails are great to and imaginative. The food is a bit limited and not always very good but not terrible, and the cleanliness isn't great especially as a weekend goes on. On the whole a good venue.

I come here every week for Tim's Quiz. The quiz is very entertaining. The food is *sometimes* hit and miss but usually pretty good with lots of sweet or savoury options depending on what you fancy. Environment and Atmosphere is always pretty good unless it's dead, in which case that can't be helped. Weekend it can get pretty busy but that's because it's pretty good.

We just had a drink here so can't comment on the food. The theme is original and the decor creates a good atmosphere. The place was not full and we were able to chat without a problem. Service was good and we didn't have to wait long to be served.

I have visited this lovely place for 10years now . I love to pop in for a glass of wine and a cheeky snack . Usually Monday or Tuesday . Love that dogs are allowed, however I don’t bring mine as it’s my day off 😆. Staff always lovely and I noticed that are always under a watchful eye of all managers . Smiles and love the chicken bacon wrap . Only Cristian is the menu could be less burgers and more of something else . Thank you x

Popped in The Bootmaker for a drink and I drink real ale but none on at the bar, the Server never look at me and started to walk away so decided not to stay. I see now that this place is called a Cocktail Bar, if going to be open during the day, I think they are missing sales, your choice. I wish them every success.

Never been there before !, but a couple in my group said they wanted to go somewhere where they could cocktails so someone recommended this !. I was surprised how lively it was considering how early we visited . Lucky for us non cocktail people they had a couple of bitters on tap !.

0 stars if Google let me. We waited over an hour for food that had been on the hot plate for over 30 minutes. Our complaint was attended to by a member of staff who listened for 10 seconds before ignoring us to serve another customer. We spoke to another member of staff who said ‘we can reheat the burgers if you like’. If I wanted a reheated burger I would have brought a Rustlers from Tescos. One and only chance this place got, never going back.

Seamus' Mojito was a true delight. The balance of lime, mint, and rum was spot-on, offering a refreshing escape in every sip. It was a perfect choice for a hot day, and I'd highly recommend it.

Seamus is the man if you want the perfect Mojito, nothing instant, no syrups and worth the couple of minutes that it takes to make.

Tobi and Shamus are amazing , so friendly and brought a great atmosphere .

Nice venue, atmospheric, but very dimly lit, limited choice of drinks, could be better, far too pretentious for Chelmsford, ok for a one off visit, but not a regular haunt.

We came to have lunch, food was amazing. We got served by Layla and what a service she provided. Would highly recommend coming here for food or drinks.

Unfortunately this bar does not gave much custom during the day. Last 3 lunchtimes we have been only customers. Last visit the standard of our food was not great. Our wrap was more salad than chicken but this could have been a one off

We had a wonderful night at the bootmaker with a chilled atmosphere and attentive staff. The plentiful vegan options are amazingly delicious, and our international (not vegan) visitor declared it the best meal out he’s had in the UK so far. Daisy at the bar was quick to serve and remembered our order on the second round which is always a nice touch!

I went to the bootmaker today for the first time today & for a Saturday lunchtime it was criminal how quite it was the restaurant is beautiful, the food was amazing value for money & the pretty woman with blue or purple hair ( I am colour blind sorry ) was a absolute sweetheart & she made the hour + bus journey worth it definitely going back
