We booked our table 2 months ago for the Rugby on Saturday. The staff were friendly and greeted us warmly. We had excellent table service and some nibbles thrown in! Would definitely recommend the venue!

I popped into this establishment over the weekend , I was waiting for friends I was meeting there ... I was standing at the bar for a very long time , the Barman seemed to have a tendency to serve ladies who were behind me in the queue , as a keen heterosexual myself , I understand this as I would probably do the same... To a point ! It started to become rather ridiculous when I was still standing there being totally ignored as he served ladies to my left , my right and behind me .. several waves of people lining the bar had come and gone away with their drinks as I was left standing looking like a tool ! The young man serving... or rather not serving in my case ! struck me as a nice guy ,very professional so I was wondering if he was simply carrying out some policy ? If you have a no over 40s rule perhaps you should make this clear to customers ? I was absolutely sober , dressed reasonably so I can not really see how i would have been judged as undesirable and unworthy of service ? anyway , I left in the end and went to the Verve were I was promptly served by the friendly bar staff .

There’s not much on the menu but what is on there is delicious. I had the steak with crispy onions and fries. Very reasonable at only £8 I think too

Very nice food, service and entertainment. Will definitely visit again during new year and recommend to others.

Went here for a works lunch recently & despite only our group in the entire restaurant we all waited over an hour for our meals to arrive . !! When they did arrive they weren’t all served at once resulting in some on the table having finished their meals before others Had yet to be delivered. ! I myself waited 1 hour 15 minutes for a ciabatta with salmon and cheese to arrive before giving up and abandoning the idea altogether . Why does it take so long to serve pre ordered meals to one table in the restaurant?? Gentleman serving us was very pleasant and the fortunate ones amongst our group said when their meals were served ,they were indeed very tasty . However ,it’s pot luck if you get anything and my advice is don’t go there if you’re ever hungry.

Went here one rainy afternoon. Ordered prawns, chicken wings, with a side of chips & salad. Everything came piping hot and very tasty. Only done side was asked for finger bowl and was given dry tissues, which didn’t work too well. Also wine menu didn’t have prices. These were small niggles with an otherwise lovely meal.

Attaended a private party for my sister's 60th on the first floor. An excellent evening. Drinks a little expensive but the food they laid on was lovely. A great night.

Pleasant welcome from staff and choice of seating available. Menu appeared simple with limited choice but don t be put off. Food was delicious. Steak fries a hit and the meat of the day best steak I've had to date. Variety of drinks available. Staff were brilliant and checked we were happy on a number of occasions. Lots of deals on for Tapas and wine. Will take that up next time. We were lucky to have a visited as live music was being played. Like our own concert! Price was reasonable but to be honest a really interesting place well worth a visit.

Came here with a friend last night having visited other bars in the area too. Really rowdy outside and loads of smoke as you go in which also fills the first half of the bar. Bouncers searching bags- should have known not to bother then! Got inside and it was packed but not a nice atmosphere- drunk kids, chaotic, about 6 deep at the bar with limited staff making cocktails that were clearly taking a long time to make! We decided not to bother so fought our way back through the smoke and left. Unfortunately we are probably not the demographic they are aiming for but it’s a real shame as there is a definite change in the type of people who are out in the uplands these days and there’s less options to suit everyone. I like the look of the menu so if maybe give it a try but the night time atmosphere really put me off!

We visited for dinner on a Sunday so it was very quiet. Our steaks were perfect, and the cocktails we had first were nicely presented. I would definitely go again.

This was my first visit to the Bookstore. Really nice decor and liked the layout of the seating. They have a lovely cocktail menu and 2 for £10 is a good deal. We had their twist on a Long Island Ice tea which was gorgeous. Slight issue with our 2nd drinks but this was resolved easily. The food menu looked tasty and I look forward to returning to try. Recommend

So I rarely get time away from the kids and when we did we went to the uplands. Found this fab place (Which happens to be the old bookshop) and sampled maybe more than 2 of their cocktails. Lovely venue lovely service. Will be back ..... when I can get a babysitter

The Zombie here is hands-down the greatest I've tried in Swansea. The cocktails are all extremely creative and majestically delicious. On top of the great drinks, the service is outstanding! I was looked after from the moment I entered to the moment I left. Fantastic bar!
