Standard Wetherspoons located right next to Waverley railway station, Edinburgh's main station, so can get very busy. The decor is a nod to the train travel with booths themed, loosely as rail carriages with baggage props above. There is a bank of three hot drinks machines so you shouldn't be waiting too long for your unlimited refills. There is a small outside sitting area. Staff are busy and efficient. There are ample toilets down a few flights of stairs. The station toilets are marginally better and are accessible.

Considering it was international rugby day, food was very quick and cooked well Drinks were delayed and cleaning tables slow but no complaints considering how busy it was

Very large selection of beer. Good atmosphere. Very pleasant terrace on sunny days. Very good value for money.

Absolutely packed on a Saturday night. Ordered some 1/3 pints from the Ale Festival and a Burger which was of medium quality.

Incredibly busy at breakfast time, most customers with cases and baggage clearly waiting for a train, it does mean a busy and cramped experience as you have to weave around groups of 10 or 15 people all with their bags and cases. Maybe better on quieter times. Food service was slow (20 mins) and food came out cold, coffee mugs came about same time as breakfast which meant then queuing for coffee (only one machine was working) meaning the cold breakfast was even colder by the time I got to eat it. Clearly just far too busy and can't cope, it either needs fewer tables or when there are groups waiting for coaches/trans, they limit the number of people into the place as there were 6-7 people sitting round a tiny table for 2 and sets and stools being lifted and moved around, just chaotic, but appreciate is cheap, it is right next to station and buses and so maybe a victim of it's own success. I would still recommend going if a fan of Wetherspoons, but may be depending upon time of day as to experience received. I must note the staff were all working hard and were friendly and so credit goes out to them.

Went to pick up my Ridacard near Edinburgh Waverley Train Station last week. It’s about half past eleven after the process and decided to have a quick lunch nearby as I was already too hungry. The place looks small & narrow from the outside but when I got in, it was surprisingly spacious. There were only a few people at first, then by past twelve noon, people started to fill in the place. The people are quite friendly as well as the staffs. The place is just right outside Waverley train station and very accessible for tourists coming in and out of Edinburgh. Also just near the tram going to the airport. Tables come with QR codes where you can easily access your orders. It became busy at that time but orders didn’t really take too long. I tried the American melty cheese burgers ( I think that’s what they called it, new menu), and the chips are bigger than my fingers (LOL). Tasty and good, not oily.

Restaurant with ordering by QR on your table. The afternoon deals are great!! U have drink for free for main course. (Mon-Fri 14-17h) We had Fish and chips (haddock) and fried shrimps (breaded scampi) u could add peas, mushed peas or beans. The portion was rather large for me. For my boyfriend the shrimps were enough. We tried two drinks - Black dragon cider and Blondie beer - both were very tasty. The staff was friendly, they recommended us their sauces (mayo, ketchup, mango chutney, garlic chilli) for free. Toilets were clean and okay.

Perfect place if going away on a train or just arriving as this place is situated outside Edinburgh Waverley Station and most times it's a long wait in long queues but worth it as selection of drinks are excellent and the staff are all excellent but so packed at busy times the food can be a little not too great but if it's not packed then it's all great

To be honest I don’t even think this place deserves a one star, the service was shocking , they were very judgy, food came wrong, just felt looked down on the whole time, my partner wrote a review while we were they and one of them walked past and muttered, “cant be that bad your still here finishing your drinks” so rude

Staff are SO RUDE Order came wrong and the man in the black shirt behind the bar his response was “oh well” Food was freezing when it arrived Every member of staff in here wants spoke to and told how to communicate with customers better!!!

The truth is that we were having dinner on our arrival in Edinburgh and they had told us about these places since there are several. You take the table if it is free and from there with the menu and a code you order what you want, you pay and they will serve it to you shortly, The truth is that it is very good and you find everything at a good price

I got served a drink with a fly in it. I asked for a new one and instead of doing so, she removed the fly with a fork and gave me the same drink and pretended it was a new one.

Cant say enough about how nice and friendly the staff are here. Gets very busy on Friday Saturday. A very good stop if you need to relax for a bit after getting off the train or are heading off for a trip. (They have the train times on the screen so you can keep an eye out for your connections) They know me I'm that big guy with bag that comes in for coffee or breakfast and plays the slot machine. I only really drink at the weekends.

Felt harassed by staff and was watched by everyone. I came in as a tourist and was treated like a terrorist. No wonder the front door is covered with ply wood!! Bloke sitting in the garden passed out should be a foresight. I've never known the bouncer to be a glass collector, that's his job description???

Always a good choice to have breakfast before the trip.

Fuimos aquí a tomar una copa después de reunirnos con la familia en la ciudad. Nos sentamos afuera junto a la acera (no se mezcla con su patio privado al que también se puede acceder a través de la calle) y pedimos algunas bebidas en la aplicación. Todo iba nadando hasta que llegaron las bebidas y nos dieron nuestras bebidas, y luego nos preguntaron si nuestro perro era un perro guía/de servicio (el perro estaba sentado entre mi pareja y yo, en una pista, y no estaba haciendo ningún alboroto o conmoción -y puedo decir que está MUY bien entrenado! ) a lo que respondimos que "no". Luego nos dijeron que el perro no está permitido en ninguna parte en las instalaciones, y que teníamos que ir. Mi padre, que es inspector de caminos del consejo, le preguntó al tipo por qué, ya que está en una calle pública, pero la respuesta fue "esta parte es propiedad del negocio". Después de haber recibido nuestras bebidas, preguntamos si al menos podíamos tomarlas, a lo que ellos accedieron, pero nos sentimos no bienvenidos y nos desconcertó el hecho de que estaba al aire libre, en una calle pública, y el perro no estaba causando ningún daño y estaba fuera del camino. Por favor, no visite este pub (o cualquier wetherspoons que aparece en otras críticas) si tiene un dog tagging junto con usted, a menos que usted quiere ser avergonzado y puesto en el lugar a pesar de que nada está mal ... Nunca experimenté algo así. Mi última pregunta al respecto es: ¿dónde está el corte en el pavimento de donde es propietario el negocio y dónde es propietario el consejo? Me pregunto si un miembro del público estaría reclamando a través del consejo o de la empresa si tropezaran con una losa de pavimentación suelta a lo largo de esa parte del pavimento. ¡Supongo que sería una vía pública entonces!

Busy, typical for weatherspoons, but minimal wait at bar. Disappointed no hot chocolate or mocha like other weatherspoons. Toilets clean, but floor was sticky!! Having said that it did the job!

Came up to Auld Reekie for the day from Newcastle and whilst i was waiting for my train i nipped into this wetherspoons... ordered a pint of Jaipur for the ridiculously cheap price of just £2.49 ! Could only have one as my train was due 😌 could of easily had a few more 🍻🤣

Functional place, good location and a lot of variety of food at a good price (although the quality is not the best). We ordered a burger and chicken tika with a drink and they were less than £40

Lively atmosphere in this Wetherspoons early morning. Service was great and efficent. Have visited many places for food which charge you twice but Spoons are really good. Nice seating area and plenty of seats available. Inside and out. Really good service though by app which is easy to use. Wasn’t bad atmosphere even a lot of big groups and families were enjoying their breakfast there. Good value for Money. Even the location is awesome too right next to train station.

Went in here few days ago went 2 the men's toilet all I can say the toilet in the trainspotting film was cleaner, every single toilet cubicle was over flowing to the brim with waste & urine disgusting not once did staff go & clean them,felt sorry for a dad taking his small daughter in to use cubicle couldn't,get ur act together wetherspoons

Pub from the Wetherspoon chain, centrally located, next to Weverly station. Friendly staff and good value for money. We had the traditional full breakfast, we added and tried the haggis and it is very good that they offer the possibility of paying for a coffee/tea and refilling it as many times as you want for £1.56.

Traditional style Weatherspoons, since next to the train station, so drinks and food are slightly more expensive, but to compare some pubs, restaurants, and hotels in Edinburgh are a lot cheaper than them!!!

This is one of your typical Wetherspoon pubs. Cheaper than other city centre venues for alcohol. If the weather is good there's plenty tables to enjoy outdoors with a view of Scott Monument and Edinburgh Castle. A good place to set as a meeting point when travelling into Edinburgh by train. It does get really busy at certain periods (Christmas / International Rugby match day)

My favorite at the moment in Edinburgh!! Central, fast, large, variety of dishes, very fast, it's the best. It includes a drink with almost all dishes. I love him, I'm going to miss him.
