It's been 10 years since I visited Bombay Brasserie with my partner. It was the natural choice to take her to for her birthday. This time we took our son whose addicted to Indian food. We all loved our lunch in this stunning restaurant. Hopefully we won't wait so long to return.

We had a delicious meal of Chickpeas Masala, Shrimp Simla Mirch, Ambi Paneer Tikka, and Yogurt Salsa with Garlic Naan. Totally delicious...all of it. Then we went to the bar where Benny, Imjad, and Joel mixed us a handful of truly exotic drinks, which we thoroughly enjoyed as our hotel was only 10 yards away. We super-highly recommend the Bombay Brasserie for a great dinner and ambiance.

Ever since the eighties I went to Bombay Brasserie during my visits to London and was never disappointed. This is not simply a food place, this is an Indian experience full of hospitality and taste. This time I took 22 family members to celebrate a family event, they came out amzed. The service was outstanding, anything you ask for, they will do eveything to accomodate.. This place transports you into the classic indian fine dining restaurant, a place millenials like me had probably gone to with their parents in the late 90s. With a gorgeous bar, a pleasing and classy decor that's not common with all the modern indian fad of late, this restaurant checks all the right boxes. The food was delicious, with a phenomenal palak patta chaat and wonderful chicken tikka and butter chicken. The cocktails are equally good but the star of the show was the staff of the restaurant. From the lady who took our last minute reservation to Shri, our server, everyone is there to help you and make you feel comfortable. This is definitely a place I'll come back to next time I'm in London 😊

Ignore the naysayers. I’ve been coming to the Bombay Brasserie on just about every trip to London I’ve made since probably 1985! And it’s as good as, or better than, ever. Visited during our latest London visit had dinner and that was the worst I had during my 5 days visit. They are over priced and was surprised to see in £21+ dish with saying chicken platter having only 3 pieces of 1 piece each for each variety. Portion size is very small and also not many options for curries .Was visiting from USA and price is not an issue if food is good but quality and quantity both were not in proportion with the price. Will not suggest this place to anyone.

Ok. we made reservations 3 months ahead of time to start. We were meeting two other couples from Vancouver, Canada. We have eaten in this restaurant several times before and loved every bite and bragged about it to our friends! 5 days before, the reservation was cancelled by them because they were offered a better deal by hosting a private event. Try and get another reservation at a premium Indian restaurant that soon👎. We were SOOO disappointed! They offered a discount at their sister restaurant that was $100CND taxi ride away BOTH ways! We stay at the Millennium Gloucester because this place is close by. We will never darken their door again. BTW..I was able able to secure a last minute reservation at Light of India and it was amazing! Goodbye Bombay Brasserie👎👎😡

Not quite the same standard as The Taj in India. We arrived early for our booking, so were asked to sit in the bar area. But they didn't offer us any drinks or ask if we needed anything while we waited. The mains had too much garam masla in it. The flavours and textures of the food had great potential, but didn't quite get there. The restaurant space was great, enough room for our group of 7. All the food, drinks and cutlery fit well. And we had plenty of space between us and the next tables. Often tables can be too small and crowded for large groups at restaurants. Decor and music was beautiful.

Upon walking into this restaurant, we were greeted by a pleasant woman who led us to our reserved table. Reservations aren't required. On scanning the menu, we were astonished to see the lack of options for an Indian restaurant. There were very limited curry options for both chicken and lamb, however the taste seemed authentic. The chicken biryani was good but the portion size was small, like every other dish, including the starters. We had ordered one mango juice, which tasted alright, but that was the only thing that was alright. Finally onto the price. The aforementioned mango juice costed a mere £8 and an £128 meal for 2 was a step closer to extortion. We left rather bemused and we will certainly not be returning.

I visited Bombay brasserie on the Christmas Eve. This was my second visit, we had invited our friends who were visiting London for a short trip. The first time I visited the restaurant was with my partner few years back, we enjoyed the service and food hence we went ahead and Invited our important guests here, reserved before hand. I was shocked to see from the time we Entered the service was so poor. Staff is not trained for the high end name of the restaurant, I get better service in a average restaurant then this. We were with a pram with Kids, staff didn't have any manners to remove the caution stop, I had to ask them twice. Again after entering we had to wait to be seated while we were already reserved. The worst part the staff was so lost while taking orders, didn't have proper knowledge of the menu and also while serving, no proper manners to do plating, just handed to our hands. It was so awkward they kept coming to our table asking if they should clear and if we are done. This is a high end restaurant? Literally 5 times we were disturbed and asked if we are done and should we clear the table as if they just want us to leave. It was so embarrassing for us. Mainly the food served didn't meet our expectations aswell, very very average. Poor quality, bad presentation. I was highly disappointed, would not recommend it. I am an influencer, I try many restaurants around London, this was the worst experience. The bill I paid was £420 and I felt I dumbed my money in garbage. Very sad experience. Staff needs to be trained, food needs to meet the name of Taj!!!!

Quite disappointed as my previous visits to Bombay Brasserie were nothing short of fantastic. We visited this last week as a group of 6 for brunch. The main hall was taken up by a wedding reception and we were relegated to a smaller section in the front. We could make out that the service was visibly slow and forced. The food was average at best, cocktails uninspiring (we had to send back the red hot chilli pepper cocktail)and poorly designed, definitely not worthy of carrying the Taj brand name. Limited starters with only the chicken tikka being of any note. Only two of the mains were ok, the kadhi and lamb. The rest were below par at best. The desserts were perhaps the worst, few but stale. The jalebis were stale and chewy, the cake / brownie was visible stale and dry. We decided to leave and have cocktails and dessert elsewhere. Didn't expect to go to a fine dining Taj restaurant and want to pay the bill quickly to go off and get some satisfying food and drink. Was very sad to see that my favourite Indian restaurant in UK had gone down so badly. I hope the management take drastic steps to remedy this situation.

Also it’s a bonus that there was no automatic service charge and they have a no tipping policy . The only thing missing was the pianist which they used to have years ago. It was OK but not outstanding. Service was very good - attentive without being intrusive. Two diners were veggie, and there was a reasonable choice (though maybe not as much as some Indian restaurants). Although the portion sizes were ok for me personally, as I have a small appetite, I don't think just a main dish would satisfy a hungry guy - would need a starter and some sides. Also, the prices are quite high, even for central London. However, the quality was good. What spoilt the evening a bit was the fact that last orders are strictly 9 pm (isn't that a bit early for central London - I think 9:30 is more normal?) Two diners arrived 8:50 having had a 2.5 hour journey - so it was all a bit rushed and we did feel a bit pressured to order and get out by 10 pm - I think we were the last ones left by then,

This restaurant was extreamly disappointing. They present themselves as high end. We showed up with no reservations and the hostess acted like she really put herself out just to seat us. They have an extreamly large dining area that had plenty of seating. As we dined we noticed more staff than patrons so staffing was not the issue either. The food was extreamly bland and unremarkable. Inexpensive takeout is better. The servers did no have a clue about dining repeatedly taking the utensils off of our plates and placing them back on the table between courses, reaching over our plates etc etc. They were so invasive it was uncomfortable. The restaurant is nicely set up and decorated. Too bad the food and service are subpar.

I recently dined at this remarkable Indian food restaurant, and I must say, it was an absolutely enchanting culinary journey! Having savored dishes at numerous Michelin-starred establishments in my lifetime, this gem of a restaurant effortlessly stands out. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted by a warm and inviting staff whose hospitality added a delightful touch to the entire experience. They truly understand the art of making guests feel at home. The attention to detail in every aspect was simply impeccable. The ambiance exuded an authentic Indian charm, transporting me to the heart of the subcontinent. The décor was thoughtfully curated, and the soft strains of traditional music added an ethereal touch. Now, onto the pièce de résistance—the food. Each dish was a masterpiece, a symphony of flavors that danced on my palate. The chef's expertise and creativity shone brightly through every plate. It was evident that they had meticulously crafted each dish to perfection. While I relished every bite, I couldn't help but compare the fish curry to those I've had in my coastal hometown. It was delicious, no doubt, but being from a coastal area, I couldn't help but have high expectations. Perhaps a tad more intensity in the flavors would have made it truly outstanding. Nevertheless, this is a restaurant that has set new standards for Indian cuisine, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking an unforgettable gastronomic adventure. It's a culinary haven that combines the best of India's rich traditions with a modern twist, and I eagerly look forward to my next visit!

I wouldn't recommend this place to Indians who expect a bit of spiciness and flavorful food. Here, the food is predominantly dominated by a citrusy sour taste, and it lacks the representation of dishes from the western part of India, such as Maharashtrian cuisine. Most of the dishes I tried were quite bland. First of all, the food is dominated by an excessive citrusy sour flavor, which is quite overwhelming. The pani puri was a disappointment. As a chef in a luxury hotel, if you don't know how to balance flavors properly, it can result in an odd taste. Additionally, the chicken biryani was the worst biryani I have ever tasted. If you don't know how to prepare it correctly, I wonder why it's even on the menu. The apple mojito lacked balance and was not to my liking.

It was a Sunday evening, perhaps why the restaurant was virtually empty. This affected the ambiance. The food was good, but not memorable. The service was a bit slow, maybe a reflection of the overall mood of the almost empty restaurant. I would give Bombay Brasserie a second chance. I don't think our experience was normal.

Visited Bombay Brasserie with my wife for an afternoon brunch. The brunch has a separate menu and it costs 60 pounds a head. Theo is located near Gloucester Road tube station and when you come out the station turn right into Courtfield Close and the restaurant is right there The place is very well decorated with some pictures from India from what I would say is British Raj The place caters a wide variety of mock tails and cocktails so worth checking and ordering it The service is spot on and yeh you are well looked after We had the pleasure of the Main Chef Sriram cooking when we attended and I am sure the standards are same when he is not there. The food was very delicious and as it was a buffet brunch we helped ourselves to a lot of various dishes. Dishes which we never try As a vegetarian I was bit worried as when you look at the menu it is not really clear what the veg dishes are I didn’t had to worry they were spot on I had some idly chutney Managalore Goli Baje (if you had the original this is no where near it but is a nice touch) rice, Dal Makanai, some potatoes, curd rice, bisi belabath and Nan bread o should have ordered one, but ordered two and it was too much There was papadoms was nice and the mango chutney was slightly spicy but nice We missed the deserts as there was no space in my tummy (haha) Lovely place and I would definitely recommend it Three cheers to the staff and chef in there We will be back :) Thank you

This is my third visit to this elegant establishment. It is always a good sign when many of the clientele are from the native country where the cuisine originates from. Service was attentive. They were welcoming to the children. The dishes with nuts in it were clearly marked on the menu, as one of the group had a nut allergy. The mocktails were decadent. As with all things in the UK the prices had risen, portion sizes were modest for what you’re paying for. The culinary experience was not as mind blowing as when I went there in pre-covid times. The desserts were tantalisingly delicious.

Step into Bombay Brasserie and you're hit with a wall of liquor that's practically a liquid treasure chest. Situated near Gloucester station, this place is a feast for the eyes, but be prepared to work some extra hours to afford the liquid dreams on their drinks menu. After being ushered into the main dining area, which was tastefully decorated, we were bestowed with the holy duo of chutney and papadums. That chutney could almost make anything taste good! The starters waltzed in, led by the palakpatta chaat, trying its best to outdo its rival at The Fat Pundit. It's was like a dance-off between the two- flavorful, but this palak chaat could've used a bit more drama. Then the achari paneer tikka entered, like that one friend who always promises a party but shows up with a pack of playing cards - a bit underwhelming. Enter the chicken tikka makhani. The chicken was so seasoned, it had more layers than a soap opera, and the tandoori flavor made each piece a symphony of spices. And then came the mint paratha, which I was surprised to still be able to taste the mint. Don't forget the £9 wine - the “budget” option that won't lead to bankruptcy, unlike some of their other choices. In the end, Bombay Brasserie left me feeling like a budget detective at a luxurious masquerade ball. I couldn't help but compare it to Dishoom, where my wallet and taste buds would do a happy dance. But if you're here to flaunt your fancy pants and make a statement, this place will have you strutting like a peacock. Just make sure you stick to the chicken tikka; it's the Beyoncé of their menu. Overall rating: 3/5 - The Bombay dream might not be my personal food fairytale, but it's got enough glamour to light up a star-studded evening.
