Awful. Very long wait in a very quiet restaurant. Surly service. Just unpleasant all round

Very poor service. Long wait for food. Mediocre food. Not even asked what sauces we wanted. No dessert menu. Even reluctant to take payment. Certainly no smile! Won't be back

Poor service, extremely long wait for food and service. Food was well below par, very greasy.

Probably the worst pub I have ever had a drink in. Gin and tonic, nothing added , ice lemon etc. flat tonic out of a plastic bottle ! Wife couldn't drink it ! No. Coca cola ! , Looked across and noticed on the next table a couple both left their white wines. Would not recommend, very sad as the establishment is in a lovely position. Date of visit 22nd February 2025.

The food was incredibly tasty! I had a lamb and the cherry wine gravy was very good. Unexpectedly, I tried the fish and chips and it's probably the best one I've had in my whole life. Cooked very good, not greasy or covered in butter and the fish is meaty. It was flavoured beautifully. The service was amazing and welcoming as well. Would recommend! They're also dog friendly.

26/1/2025 16.00 pm Just had a roast , had gammon that's what was left , my wife had a small roast one just about cuttable roast , myself had a large roast with 2 roast , the veg was basic all mixed in one dish , the young lady threw our cutlery on the table , plonked our dinners down , but not one person had come to see us to make sure all is OK, BASIC FOOD .....SHAME

Another amazing gluten free meal in The Boathouse Tewkesbury, I can’t recommend it enough. The staff and service are incredible.

Would highly recommend The Boathouse for a Sunday roast. We went this Sunday and the roast pork was so good. The staff are really friendly and the atmosphere matches. It’s the perfect place if you were going with a larger group as they have lots of space. They also have options for the standard menu if you didn’t want a roast so plenty of options for everyone. Great place!

Needs a good injection of enthusiasm by the management to get it up there... look over the road and what you have.. a great asset wasted!!

My wife and I really enjoyed our Sunday roast at The Boathouse last weekend. The pork option was great but I was hugely jealous of the beef joint on the plate opposite me! Everything was delicious. Prices are fair, the refurbished pub is really cosy and the staff very friendly. They are also dog friendly, which is great. We didn't have to feel guilty leaving our dog at home for the afternoon. If you're not sure where to go for your Sunday roast in Tewkesbury, I would highly recommend going to The Boathouse.

Incredibly friendly and helpful staff.

The VERY BRST Sunday roast in town!! Perfectly cooked to perfection- amazing sides- creamy leeks were delicious! Roast veg and gravy - sublime…. Cauliflower cheese is gluten free too and not to mention dreamy AF! 🤌🏻

We had Sunday lunch, beef with freshly prepared Yorkshire, sausage, stuffing, cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes and fresh veg…wonderful! Service very friendly and best Sunday lunch in a long time. Definitely recommended

Superb food and a great selection of wine's. Fantastic atmosphere for family's. Outstanding views of surrounding countryside and overlooking the river Avon. Staff great. Outside tables and chairs, benches etc. large spacious parking area which is a bonus because parking is very limited in Tewkesbury. Brilliant.

It's not from The Boathouse pub , is from my neighbour. We live by the river close to the boathouse . This part is scottish Burns Night..

Delightful experience on the water.

Really nice bar. Great views of the river and canal. Nice tasty food, good service, nice friendly atmosphere. Plenty of parking, and seating in and out, couldn't see a lift so maybe not wheelchair friendly. Best to call. 5 minutes walk to centre of Tewkesbury.

Came in Tuesday early evening on way home from work. Greeted by landlord and served a very nice pale ale followed by a hearty plate of fish and chips. Reasonably priced. Lovely place to stop off. Thank you

Dropped in for a meal on our last day of our holiday in Tewksbury. Had a nice experience with interesting surroundings, friendly and helpful bar staff and good food, served quickly, despite the chef being on his own and having to fulfil many orders. Nice ales too. Recommended.

Food was OK, could do with a refurb ,great if you were sat outside facing the river not so much if you were looking at the building.

Stopped off here in our way home. Lovely setting by the river. Food was really nice - we had the chicken & bacon salads - very affordable and the staff were attentive and friendly. Definitely worth a visit.

Really nice restaurant. Good food at reasonable prices. And they do proper/real chilli sauce. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very nice views over the river and locks.

Very welcoming and accommodating reception from the bar, willingness to accommodate awkward dietary requirements that aren't allergy related. Visited at five pm on an overcast and chilly summers day. It was relatively quiet but the surroundings and views in the tranquil setting along the river overlooking the weir and lock drew us away from the town. The parking was ample (weather affecting trade may have been on our side). A small menu selection of well chosen options not generic wholesale offerings and varied choice of flavour and side dishes. Not a large chain menu with pages upon pages of options but enough of a range of choices well selected to make choosing a battle. The varied simple menu led to a choice of the venison burger or lamb shank for myself and lasagna or pulled pork with eastern salad for my partner............ That's where I get complicated as I have a pre diabetic diet of basically low carb no sugar. The bar staff were absolutely understanding, not a single huff, sigh or eye roll and the kitchen specially adapted to my requirements. Evidence and final proof was in the meal served completely tailor made perfectly adapted to suit. My partner folded and went with lasagna. We work in the industry and are fully aware of supplier ping ding lasagna is a very easy and cheap meal option most places stock so we rarely opt for it. On this occasion the lasagna was clearly not a brakes or bidfoods microwave option and was served piping hot topped with various cheeses and a quality Béchamel sauce. Quick, efficient and attentive service in a comfortable and clean dining area. Layout was designed to enhance the setting outside over looking the lock and docks on the Avon without overcrowding tables and sacrificing "elbow room". Overall the combination of setting, choices and meal served was a perfect experience not of fine dining but correctly priced quality food in an amazing setting.

Great location. More staff behind the bar would have prevented the long queues on the day.

A great pub run by really friendly staff. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced (as was the beer!). And we had a brilliant view of the river.

Lovely visit recently for family gathering. 8 of us accommodated easily. Good food and service. Good value. Too full for pud unfortunately! Leftovers nicely packaged. Nice surroundings and views over river. If weather nicer would have sat outside. Friendly and efficient manager and chef. Nothing too much bother. Thanks for very pleasant lunch. Thought would have been great venue for private function.

Brilliant when we lived in Tewkesbury 5 years ago and brilliant now. The new manager is superb.

We were in Tewkesbury looking for somewhere to eat on Google it says this place is open until 9pm on a Sunday it isn't it was closed when we arrived and we ended eating somewhere else, it was disappointing that we couldn't try out the Boathouse after reading all the lovely comments.

This place is CLOSED! ignore what the site says. No one answers the phone or email, I turned up on the off chance today for lunch and it wasn't open or even looking close to maybe wanting to be open!

Would have been nice to visit if it had been opened. Suggest you edit your opening times and do not disappoint potential customers.

This was my first visit to the Boathouse, and I was so impressed! It was a beautiful day, and sunny, so we sat overlooking the river 🥰 Stunning views! The food was also outstanding 😁 We will definitely visit if we are in the area again 😀

Unfortunately my 1st negative review, here goes..... whilst they won't get done by trading standards for what the menu says, they won't win any Michelin stars, no chef, trained would put his name to what was served up, considering the time it took to come, the waitress didn't help by getting drinks order wrong, I do hate negative reviews but they deserved it

An excellent place to visit with nice views. The food was extremely nice and not over priced and the staff are pleasant too. We would gladly visit there again...

The boathouse. You read all the reviews and get interested and go for Sunday lunch. Don't be fooled by reviews. The building is tired. The windows need painting. The beaches outside are worn out with chuncks missing and when the food arrives.. We ordered the trio carvery. One skinny chicken leg. One pork loin slice and one chunk of beef. Three offerings of sauce sat side by side on the plate. The good thing was. The veg came out hot.. Blue sheets hanging to guard against any weather miss hap. But give the place a chance. It does say it's under new management. So they have a chance to improve

Great service lovely scenery, overlooking Tewkesbury Marina was acknowledged as soon as we walked into beer garden, order taken and drinks brought to us. We didn't have food but other were eating and it all looked lovely

Interesting menu, helpful staff. I didn't expect to be sitting inside scaffolding and plastic sheets, but it worked very well, with effective and attractive heaters

Goog food had Moroccan lamb, salmon blood good Poor vegetarian/ vegan options only burger/salad options

Lovely Riverside location. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful ndbthe Meal was really good. The beer garden was pleasant and big. We didn't go inside, so this is all about what we experienced. The car park is well lid out and sufficient. It needs a touch of maintenance to make it feel better and then it would get 5 stars.

Nice view by the river. poor waiting skills, terrible customer service. We waited almost 2 hours and the food we received should not have left the kitchen. Wetherspoons would have been a better choice

Only had drinks, the service was fab and the view was great especially on a hot summer's day, loads of tables with umbrellas if you want shade.

We have only been a couple of times for a drink but its one of the nicest places to sit outside with a drink. The staff are very friendly.

Lovley scenery great table service

One of the best pubs in Tewkesbury, food is decent and great views in the garden.

No decent real ales. Drinks more pricey than other watering holes in the area. Table service a bit lacking staff standing around talking, not as good a place as it used to be unfortunately. Positives are the wonderful setting by the river and some exceptional live music on a Sunday. Worth a visit when the weather is good and you can sit outside.

This is the second time I’ve visited in the past two weeks and I have to say I am impressed! It’s very rare to walk into a pub where you are immediately greeted by friendly staff and offered drinks/table service. The staff are personable, engaging and take an interest. Food is also fantastic! Would highly recommend and will be back! Thank you 🙂

The website showed 2 for the price of 1 on cocktails every Friday from 4 till 7 as ‘Happy Hour’. Got there and was told they couldn’t do cocktails as they hadn’t got the stuff in. Sat indoors as it was a bit nippy. It looked a complete dive. We had intended to eat there and have a few cocktails but it was so grim we decided to leave. Disabled toilet disgusting. Don’t know how this place has got good reviews!

Read old as in 3 years ago review that outside needed cleaning still very true I thought they had maybe only just taken it over but please go buy a brush and clean up. Had Sunday dinner it was acceptable as in just warm on a cold day sat under the pub and the cauliflower cheese was sloppy. It could be a fantastic place if it was cleaned up.

Very relaxed Riverside eating with good food

Excellent Riverside pub. All staff are very friendly..... Nice change these days! There was a live singer on a Sunday afternoon and that just added to the atmosphere. Very dog friendly, as soon as they seen you had a dog the waitress brought over a bowl of water. Food was excellent. Good all round place to be.

Beer for me. Coke for the Mrs. Only £5.60. Bargain.

I love sitting here and watching the Swans and ducks 🦆 on the river the boathouse is lovely and you can walk beside it, there is a path that goes by the river, It's so quiet and peaceful, you can bring a picnic or bbq as there are tables, bring canoe or dingy and drift to other side and go to the pub

We love this place! The food quality is exceptional 👌, the staff are super friendly & knowledgeable & very dog friendly. We sat outside last night & as soon as the waitress noticed the dogs she brought a bowl of water over for them. There are plenty of vegetarian choices on the menu & the food is very fresh. We ate outside as the inside was closed. Food OK and staff friendly but it wasn't really conducive to outside dining as it was a bit like being in a partially enclosed car park surrounded by concrete pillars.

Friendly staff serving beautifull unique meals. What a great place to drink, eat and relax. The mulled wine went down a treat. The burger was really moreish and the seafood dishes were perfectly cooked and delightfully light and filling. Superb restaurant!

Dissapointing meal, like warm and a bit expensive for what it was, don't think I will return as there are plenty of other places locally
