There was 4 of us went for an early dinner on a Thursday. Cheeseburger for 2 of us (more chips in a dish as well as on the plate ) & the other 2 had pie. Both meals were absolutely delicious. Cooked as requested and served piping hot. Only downside was unfortunately the lack of fruit juice on offer at the bar but I’m sure that’s something that will be sorted. When we came to settle our bill we were told that because we were all over 60 we all got a very generous discount which was totally unexpected but was a great surprise. Many thanks for a lovely dinner. We will be back

A wonderful Bistro, with great quality meals and wines. We went for lunch, Mains were Salmon with crushed potatoes, Mushrooms in a cream sauce and Kale. Perfect balance of flavours. Desert was Orange and Olive Oil Cake with Blackberry cream. Truly delicious. A nice light ending to the meal. With a bottle of wine and coffees. Recommended

We had the Sunday roast I had the beef which was very nice. The staff are very good. I had the sticky toffee pudding which was horrible very doughy, dry and tasteless never had a sticky toffee pudding like it before. Restaurant could of been warmer but chilly.

The Bluebell Bistro was recommended to my husband and I so, on free day for both of us we gave it a try. We went midweek. The plan ce is spotless and the cutlery and glasses were squeaky clean. We both ordered the ploughman's, which when it arrived we knew we would not leave hungry. The presentation was good and a great selection with ham, cheeses, various kinds of pickle, gherkins and silver small onions. Also served with warm crusty bread. My husband ordered a guest beer which he enjoyed. I had orange and. soda due to a recent broken neck injury so am off alcohol. The experience, waiting service by Lisa, and decor is definitely to be recommended. We hope it is as great the next time, soon. L&R

Came here with friends for a Sunday roast and am so pleased we chose here! The staff were so accommodating … from making sure there was access for our friend with a broken leg, to keeping the kitchen open late for us. Nothing was too much of an ask! The food was also outstanding … never seen four roasts polished off so quickly. Absolutely delicious. What a hidden gem, will definitely be back!

Very tasty food! We all had the vegetarian option of squash with charred lettuce . One of the tastiest vegetarian meals that we have had! If this restaurant was central Chelmsford it would be packed its a sham its tucked away a little in SWF.

Went to try the new pizza meal but the oven was broken so I tried the Tapas menu instead. We had chirozo bites (wonderful) duck spring rolls (even better) houmous and flat bread (great) with Padron Peppers (good). Staff are very good, and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Worth every penny. Thanks again for a lovely meal.

I visited the Bluebell with my husband and friends from out of town. Three of us ordered the half rack of ribs and the fourth the burger. Our food arrived piping hot, the meat fell away from the ribs and the burger was full of flavour. The staff were very smiley and attentive. Our friends were really pleased with our choice of location.

I have gone to the Bluebell Bistro on several occasions over recent months. This is not one review but many. Blue means vibrant...it is. To me ...Bell means ringing the changes and it is fully refurbished both inside and outside. It is a place to have a lovely relaxing drink without eating. However, the snack menu is like a mix and match tapas experience. The lunch menu and the dinner menus are wonderful. Sunday is a real treat as well. The standard of inventiveness and quality of cooking from the chef is sublime. It is freshly cooked and not at all microwaved , in my opinion, like some establishments in this area. The taste factor is wonderful because of its freshness . Great range of lagers , quality sourced wines and a range of zero alcohol drinks. Also for myself , real ales, which is rare in this area . I love the very drinkable mad goose. Lovely area outside for both couples groups and families and the function suite area is excellent . I love going out to eat quality in a very relaxed environment. The staff are so friendly and down to earth and nothing is too much trouble for them. I am a fan and have stopped going to other places . Will be going back soon. Paul

Others in our group had the ploughman's which was huge & a couple of others had the Chicken Caesar salad. Everyone said their meals were excellent & the staff were absolutely superb, friendly & so helpful. Thoroughly recommend this place

We visited the bluebell bistro for lunch my wife had the roast beef which was very good and I had the swordfish steak which I’m afraid was well overcooked also far too many tomatoes we have never been here before we had a look in the back restaurant it seemed quite cold and sparse needs some pictures on the walls to soften the atmosphere the front restaurant area is better but not very busy when we visited obviously it is being refurbished at the moment we will try again in the summer.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Blue Bell Bistro in South Woodham Ferrers for their outstanding service on Saturday, November 11th. The owner and the entire staff went above and beyond to prepare the venue, creating the perfect ambience for my party of around 50 people. The food was delicious, and the staff were friendly and efficient. Everyone felt welcome and had a great time. It was a special birthday celebration, and we all thought it was exceptional.

I know this has been open for a few months and had a few teething problems at their start but my review is based on attending last Sunday. There were four of us with different tastes but we skipped starters and went straight to the mains hoping to leave room for dessert. Two had the roast beef and two the roast pork. Not knowing portion size we added some extra stuffing, roast potatoes and pigs in blankets. All food was fresh, tasty and plenty of it. It was also very well prepared and presented. Resulting in four empty plates. The desserts chosen were chocolate brownie and apple cobbler with home made ice cream. Again excellent quality, well presented and very nice. The staff were very friendly and a credit to the restaurant. Just the right level of interaction. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and can’t wait go back. Thank you

My OH and I called in to Rossini's on Friday evening for a quick bite to save cooking. The restaurant is in a cordoned off section of the Two Brewers Pub, and although the pub itself seemed quite busy we were surprised that there were no other diners in the restaurant area. The restaurant area is decorated with artificial plants, vases and pots, and photos of Italy - it's not really flash but feels cosy and like a little authentic Italian family neighbourhood restaurant. Service was excellent, both of our servers were friendly and chatty, and despite being the only diners we didn't feel uncomfortable or unwelcome which can sometimes be the case. Food was first rate, again nothing flash but authentic and reasonably priced pasta, pizzas and main course grills in good sized portions. My OH had Arancini for a starter, I tried it too and we both thought it was very tasty. I had a spicy chicken, bacon and tomato penne and it was very spicy but lovely, my OH had the house pasta which he declared very good. We were both too full for desserts but next time we will save room! I do hope Rossini's gets more customers as they deserve to succeed, it is so nice to have an authentic and well priced Italian in Chelmsford instead of all the chain restaurants and over priced 'special occasion' restaurants.

Last year I was doing hospitality and catering level 2 and I was waitering in this restaurant so I know what it’s like. Then I thought why don’t I just see what’s it’s like as a customer? Came today and OMG! I love it. Food was brilliant! I ordered a scotch egg (it was really filling but it was lovely), sweet and sour pork with fried rice (this meal combined brilliantly!), and profiteroles (the choux pastry was good and cream and chocolate was amazing). The service was good but as I learnt last year how to do posh waitering you have to serve from the left and clear from the right and you have to do de-crumbing e.t.c. They didn’t do de crumbing or the serve and clear as they forgot. I understand that. But even though I absolutely loved it (it did feel awkward as I was a waiter before here but you can get used to it! 😂) Definitely will come again! Thank you princes room restaurant. And well done to the waiter! 😁😁
