The Blue Peter Stonehouse in Derby

I often go for a meal here. Mainly the carvery. It is a hearty meal and if one’s early enough the food is very good. The pub is of a lovely art deco style.

Booked a table for 7pm to be called up that food had stopped being served at 7pm🤦🏽‍♀️👎🏽 I'm pleased with this as me and my partner went to Blue Jay instead & enjoyed it.

Absolutely lovely place, staff are so friendly and fast, we came for a hangover meal, food was piping hot, carvery was fantastic and honestly everyone here is an absolute treasure, can’t thank you guys enough for making us feel so welcome! Jackie was a diamond! We will definitely be back! And a very happy boy who won a teddy with his first pound coin!

A quiet place to eat without many pretensions.

Friendly staff, good basic food, good value.

Have always had incredible food here in the past. The breakfasts are to die for. Usually the carveries are good too. But for some reason today it just didn’t hit the same standard. The thing that ruined it for me though was the gravy. It was a little bit too thick, but incredibly salty! To the point we were scraping it off parts of our food before eating it. Ruined the whole meal for all of us unfortunately

Disappointed with the carvery which is usually pretty good. Gravy was very salty to the point it was making the food difficult to eat. Pork was dry too. Had to ask for my extra Yorkshire as the servers didn’t seem sure on how many you get with ‘the full works’.

I took two guests to the pub for lunch , they were very pleased with the service they received. The lady was pleased how her elderly father enjoyed his visit. The quality of the carvery was good, an experience worth repeating. The carpark is big enough for most occasions, this is reassuring when you are booking a meal.

Under staff, we was to d that our tea, would be brought over, but would have to wait a few seconds, that was OK, but half hour later still no cups f real, the food was like rubbers and cold, we see this place a lot, we shall not be going back their it's gone down hill

This has to be the worst of the stone house chains of pubs . I’ve used bartlewood in Ilkeston for years but unfortunately couldn’t get in on Mother’s Day . I excepted the same high standards at there other restaurant but was sad let disappointed on every level .

Have fairly regular a fried breakfast and it's amazing value even there roasts dinners are good 👍

Ok the food isn't great but edible and very cheap(affordable) the staff on the food counter aren't around to serve they have to be asked to come out, the waitress that served us was lovely and deserves a medal for what she has to deal with, I would come back just because of her.

1st time here, had been recommended by a few friends, a nice enough looking place from the outside Art-deco design which is nice to see these days. The staff are pleasant. We both had a regular carvery, the portion of meat we got was good as was the selection of veggies the Yorkshire pudding was small but nice, will definitely come again to try other food & definitely for a breakfast which looks like a bargain to me. 2nd visit for a breakfast 01/03/25 & upgraded to 5 stars, my breakfast was very nice & all cooked & set out perfect, can't tell you enough how polite & easy to talk to the staff we met (landlord & landlady possibly?) I was well fed by the time we left, correct me if I'm wrong but I believe this nice buffet breakfast for as little as £6.50 if you don't want a drink & me being from the north we'll that's a bargain, it's a great price with a drink also especially as the food is of good quality. You will see us here again in the near future I'm sure.

Me and my daughter both disabled when in blue Peter for carvery staff and chef are amazing they took our dinners over to our table and also our drinks thankyou to all of them

When we arrived they didn't know we had a booking, we were told to find out own seat which was fine. I ordered on the app. From where we were sat I could see the kitchen, there were 2 tables near us who were already eating food and I noticed a chef plating up some food in the distance so I asked my partner if they wanted to get their food as they had ordered the carvery whereas I hadn't, I ordered a calzone. 30 minutes after we ordered, a staff member approached us saying they had ran out of pizza dough and couldn't make my food. Why had this taken 30 minutes to find out? She claimed that the pub was extremely busy, however looking around this did not seem the case, and 30 minutes to just start looking at my food is ridiculous. I then had to choose a different meal and went with a burger. The staff member said she would get us a round of drinks as apologies, and that she'd come back later as we were still half way through our current drinks, desserts would have been better. My burger finally arrived and it was sub par, felt thrown together and lazy, it was also delivered by a chef and not a staff member which was strange. We sat there for a while and the staff member did not return offering us the drinks and we needed to get going so we left.

Good cavery we use when passing

Ordered a few times on Uber eats. Never normally had a problem. The food went in the bin this time! Large carvery ordered but just came with a sausage extra, no extra meat or Yorkshire pudding, The food was all mushed into one pot. No gravy came with it. Hard undercooked roast potatoes. Awful food. Spending hard earned money on this and get disgusting inedible food! Never again.

The staff were fantastic and had great customer service. The chef especially went above and beyond. My step daughter only eats sausage on a carvery and because there wasn't any he had them cooked especially. Had a happy girly. The food was delicious aswell!

I come in for breakfast with family and the staff and pleasant I got served served by Sophie she was plaeasant

I ordered for delivery. I won't do it again. The beef had so much fat in it. I was not impressed with the veg either, cauliflower cheese squashed into the mashed potato, red cabbage covering most of the veg and roast potatoes. Over half the meals went in the bin

Never again I had a carvery with a big blood vessel running thru the center of my beef plus it was chewy and undercooked I complained and attitude was who cares in my opinion they couldn't care less would not reccomend

The Team were great and did a great job assisting with a Birthday Cake. The food was also to a good standard. Thank you.

Not impressed was told we had to reserve a table and was told to leave the table we had sat at bearing in mind the place was not busy. Shoved in a corner getting the eye of the lady that seated us. A good note the food was very good it was the customer service or lack of it that put me off the place

Visited as part of a function, overall okay but nothing special! Didn’t try the food but did look to be a good range of options plenty of onsite parking

Woohhoooooo Soph &&& Jen legends of the blue Peter! What a pair! Both fantastic members of staff always working hard catering to everyone’s needs. We enjoying coming in either it be for food which is always top nosh! Or it be we nip in for a cheeky one! Both of them always go above and beyond for us, especially making a special fuss over our little ones! Blue Peter wouldn’t be the same without these two! Oh and mark 😃

Food was hot and fresh, visited here after recommended by a friend, usually we go to a different venue but in future will be coming here instead. The staff were polite and helpful .

Just been to get a takeaway veg carvery for me and the wife And to be perfectly honest we were wholly disappointed It cost us £13 for the two dinners, this is the second time that This has happened, Never Again

I had the Mac and cheese and it is one of the best I have had. My dad has the gammon sandwich and I said it was great as well. Very friendly staff and a lovely place

Great service nice food and a relaxing place to enjoy a meal and a pint, what more could you ask for the carvery is a must especially for those of us who love a roast meal. Morgan the head chef and Aled gave us the sort of attention most restaurants only give to high profile guests keep up the good work guys.

Landlord is a miserable miser, no kids in after 8pm and close at 9pm. Never been a family pub. Never again!

Ham and pineapple pizza made up from left over carvery gammon. Also gammon egg and chips the gammon was from the carvery too and not proper cuts. Carvery all dry and lack of meat. Burgers is not proper burger it's cheap BBQ burgers from the local butchers. Carry on deleting my post 😅

Came to the blue Peter for a bite to eat I had a horse and beef radish sandwich with roast potatoes which was lovely and very reasonable priced! the lady who served me was named Sophie and she was very welcoming and polite I will definitely be back.

We've been coming in here every year for years when the local Download festival is on. Great breakfast that sets us up for the day! This year we've tried the carvary!! Amazing, good quality meat and huge selection of vegetables. The staff, especially Sophie and Sharon, couldn't help us enough, bearing in mind we were covered in mud! They were so nice!! We'll be back next year!!!

As always at a Stonehouse Pizza place we had great value for money, along with a delicious carvery for one and pizza for one... Atmosphere was great. Enjoyed a very relaxing lunch. Great food, great service, will say only problem was gravy was very clumpy but chef who was cutting the meat was very nice and friendly l, even brought fresh roast potatoes out and they was so good, hard on the outside very crispy and so soft and fluffy on the inside l, the chefs name was jose

Plenty of vegetable choices and the meat was beautiful. The staff were all very welcoming to everyone. My daughter lives just round the corner so we will certainly be returning.
