Fantastic service from all the team come in for dinner at least once a week and enjoy coming in for the Tuesday quiz

Had a Sunday roast it was not very nice. Veg was rubbery. Roast potatoes and stuffing was not far off being burnt - really hard and the beef was virtually inedible. Yorkshire pudding was very hard and chewy - not one of their best meals - shame reallly

Lovely food but as we had children with us it was spoilt by the bad language coming from a group of lads in the bar, who although we're in a separate space could still be heard in the separate section for families

We had a lovely meal. Served really fast. Cleared away dirty plates swiftly. We were served by Amy.She was a beautiful ,smiley , happy to help waitress. She should do well .An asset to the Paddocks.Thankyou.

Don't get to go here that often as we live on the other side of town, but when we do we've never had a poor experience or meal. Particularly like the loads of parking 🅿️ places, it's set back from the road so you can enjoy your drink as the world trundles by. Service is quick and waiting staff are always smiling 😊 Check out their weekly food offers.

**2024 update: I have just as much love for this place as I had previously, even with the ongoing inflation you can bag a bargain at the Paddock without any drop in the standard of food or friendly quality of service. Keep up the fantastic work team, still stands as one of my favs. The chicken skewers sizzler is my fav (More photos added) *Original 2022: Fantastic Establishment, great service, hot food and a reaaally friendly vibe. Food offers on throughout the week too, easy ordering either through the app or at the till. You'll be pleasantly surprised at the food turn around, and its always super tasty! The Paddock is definitely one of my favourite pubs in Derby, always plenty of parking for desi' drivers n' all. The warm welcome is abit like when you pull up at home, and get into the warm inside after a long rainy miserable day. The pics don't do it justice. Lovely beer garden, perfect for the warmer weather & evening sunsets.

My wife and I went for a meal on Saturday evening. I had rump steak, which should have been medium. When it was cut, blood came out it was still raw in the middle. We had no check-in, so I took it back to the bar. The staff were helpful and a replacement was brought out which was just ok. My wife had the chicken new yorker which seemed to have been microwaved too long as the chicken was hard and not edible, so no chicken was eaten, no one came to check if my second meal was ok and we took the chicken home for the dog as it was not fit for human consumption. We definitely won't be back.

Hard to judge the atmosphere as it was early so not many in. Ordered food on the app from garden and was very prompt and tasty.

I have been visiting this pub for many years now and each experience is enjoyable.. The food is always great - the 'Cluck & Cheese Sharer' (which the chef makes sure he has in stock for me) is divine.. And my mum enjoys the 'Smokin Jack' burger very much.. We visit numerous times a week and are never disappointed :)

Was craving burgers when I finished work today and the paddock absolutely delivered! Quadzilla burger, if you don’t know now you know!

Booked a table for 18 of us today for my Son's 10th birthday. The staff was lovely and the service was excellent. All the food came out hot and everything we ordered came out right 👍🏽🍔🍨 we will be definitely going back⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you very much to all the staff 😊

Love the Hungary Horse chain, food is lovely and staff great! The Paddock furnishings need updated it is looking a bit tired.

Food was nice and reasonably priced. Play area was clean and safe also. Good place for families with plenty of parking. Dogs outside with owners were provided with water. Would recommend 👌

Not a bad place to eat standard pub food.

Good food at a very reasonable price and very friendly staff. Went there today and had the special chicken New Yorker it was very nice and you get large portions. I would highly recommend them if you want great food at great prices.

In a party of around 20, plenty of parking spaces, ordered from the app with pretty quick service.

Food wasn’t the best the steak smells funny and chicken was jelly like. told waitress but they just wanted to replace the meal but it put me off and no offer of a refund .

Well located pub near Derby, with plenty of parking. Staff were friend, drinks every well priced and the 3 for £12 chicken wings/strips/nuggets portion was huge!

Family meal for 5 to celebrate a birthday. Booked a table beforehand. On arrival we moved ourselves to another table as there was not enough room on table 17, between it and the next table. Drinks and food were good. Only downside were a load of small kids being given free room to run around the pub.

Me and my family had a really nice meal here. The food was really nice, the staff were helpful and the pub felt like a family pub. I can definitely recommend it.

Popped in whilst passing . Just a half a beer. Very quiet at 2pm. Thought the upholstery and decor in places is in need of upgrading. Staff friendly.

We visited around 6pm on Monday evening. There were plenty of parking spaces available. We sat by the windows but it felt a little dark inside and lacked an atmosphere. The weren't many other diners so we had a choice of tables. The tables were clean but there were some pieces of food on the floor. We ordered via the app. Drinks arrived in 8 minutes and the food arrived 10 minutes later. We ordered the vegan impossible nuggets and vegan Beyond Burger. The food was warm (except my sweetcorn which was cold). The presentation was a little under whelming, the burger was presented on a dish that looked like it was designed to look burned and my wooden platter had seen better days. The nuggets were nice however and presented on roasted veg which was a nice addition. Having had a pleasant experience at other Hungry Horse branches we were disappointed with this one.

Love that this place offers a lot of plant based items! Food is pretty good, fairly priced. Would skip the dessert though, not worth the price imo. Been going to the paddock for years, and worked there around 1990, it's changed a lot and lost some of its charm. But worth a pint and a meal if you're in the area!

This place has tasty food for a very good price and also every day a week they have a special Offers, like on Monday for example with one main dish you can choose a main from a kid's menu for just one pond just a juice for your little one doesn't included in this one-pound-only food

I used to work here and the service was shocking . They don't give u cutlery anymore or ask if you want sauces they don't repeat your order to u either so order came out wrong. Food was nice tho standard of cleaning has dropped dramatically.

what a great pub, all the staff are a credit to themselves, very attentative, meals are excellents espacially the 2 for £10,99, try the Fish and chips,Excellent value and big for the price, it puts the local fish and chip shops to shame, since l wrote this review, lve mentiond it to lots of people how good the fish and chips and Abbotts ale , but on my last 4 visits, theres been no fish and no Abbotts ale, What a let down, its not the staff that are at fault, its the management

We always have a fabulous meal at the Paddock taken quite a few friends who have also been back, can't beat it on value for money, staff are soooo friendly, food cooked to perfection every time, what more can I say, well done all at the paddock.

Came here on Thursday for a spot of late lunch, as it was fairly quiet with not many people in. Had their crispy chicken sandwich from the 'Super Specials' (wish I'd have taken a picture now!) Great value and there was a lot on the plate, very filling and worth every penny. Bonus that there was a free pudding on Thursday with every 'Super Specials' meal ordered too. 👍🏻 Staff, as they always are, were extremely polite and offered great customer service. Would definitely recommend the Paddock for a bite to eat and a relaxing drink.

Totally disgusting eating experience Booked in for 6pm today 7/4/2023 the bar man could not find the booking reservation which was not a great start, little did we know it would get much much worse The tables were dirty and sticky The Chicken was undercooked the gammon undercooked and the steak was burnt lots youths swearing and cursing and causing chaos in the dining area I won't be returning!! Not once were we asked if our food was ok as the staff seemed more interested in their friends sat outside

The place could do with a bit of sprucing up but it is all kept very clean. The food is good and the prices are very reasonable. The staff are friendly and on the ball. We thoroughly enjoyed our mid week lunch out and will be going there again.

Went early afternoon midweek. Pub was quite which was fine by me. Had a couple of games of pool and a meal. I was happy with the service and the quality of the food

Service is fine but I did see some disparity in how the food was served, I ordered the fish and chips and wasn't great just ok and saw another table being served the same with bigger portion size. The chocolate Sundae looked very big served to another table , all in all ok but would be nicer is there was consistency with portion sizes.

Visited paddock at lunch time today meal wasn't very hot at all and the peas were cold as though they had come out a tin, we both had hunters chicken haven't been for 3 months as food wasn't brilliant then Need to get better chef who checks food properly and how hot it is Are there new managers there 🤔 something needs sorting with kitchen won't be in for a while till I try agaim
