What a great visit! Smooth and flavourful coffee, amazing range of attractive baked goods - I went for the red velvet blondie - and a friendly welcome too. Busy little place, seemed to work for families as well as me with my book in the corner. Thanks so much.

Gorgeous little cafe and gift shop. Coffee and hot chocolate were really good, nice selection of cakes. Staff super friendly. Shame they don't do food as limited choice in Stornoway.

Fantastic setting, and a welcoming cafe. The frangipani cake with apricot, pistachio and cornflower pets was beautiful and delicious. Presentation exquisite. But perhaps even more important was the friendliness and attentiveness, when my friend went outside coughing, they took her a glass of water. When I fell in love with a wee puffin for sale I was also told about where I could go to see them. Jane, the owner I think, was superb. Outside is a dog friendly contained area with cute gumball like machine for dog treats.

Good coffee, excellent cakes and a good atmosphere. Not many seats, but friendly so you'd be happy on your own there. Right beside the Harbour so you can watch the boats. Excellent selection of gifts well presented and wrapped. Service with a smile

When visiting the Isles of Lewis & Harris a 'must do' is enjoying a delicious cake & coffee whilst browsing the always interesting & inspiring shop run by Jayney & her friendly & welcoming girls. In the town's harbour, it could not be a better place to enjoy meeting locals who will only be too pleased to tell you of all the islands' places to visit and it's right alongside both the Hebridean Adventures & SeaTrek whale & wildlife watching boats moored -up there. ENJOY!!!

This is a lovely shop that does coffee as a side part of the business (This might explain why there are no toilets?). We stopped here for a coffee and gluten-free cake in the late morning. Service was excellent and the shop was busy. There's free WiFi too, which is always a bonus.

We popped in here to warm up and to shelter from a rain storm, and just managed to get a seat. The coffee was nice and it was nice to look out over the harbour but when my friend enquired about a toilet to use she was told to use the public ones outside, and across a car park which are not too far away but it was cold and raining that day and we had no small change for the machine so ultimately me and my friend ended up going in to another coffee shop and got another warm drink and a nice warm bathroom!!

I visit friends often in Lewis and a MUST place to visit is here. Always made to feel so welcome regardless of the staff that are working that day. Hazzelnut lattes are so good as is all the cakes. Which change daily. Plus the gift shop side of the cafe is full all sort of goodies. Really can’t wait to visit again in November.

Nice situation on the water. The coffee was good but i found the bakewell slice very dry. This is not table service but the service i received at the counter was good. Was surprised there was no toilet or bathroom in the premises for customers.

It was great to see The Blue Lobster thriving after first visiting last summer. Again we were impressed with the excellent coffee and hot chocolate. Cakes were delicious too. It would be nice to see some local jams for the scones.

My wife, friends and I called in here during a day trip to Stornoway from the mainland. Great location overlooking the estuary of the Bayhead River. Lovely coffee ☕️ & cake served by very friendly and polite staff. Great value for money. Have no difficulty giving this establishment 5⭐️. However, and I’m sure the proprietor is aware of this, there is a shortage of indoor seating. Plenty of outdoor seating, but very much weather dependent. Didn’t detract from the quality though and will definitely visit again.

My husband and I popped in to this very attractive harbourside cafe and were met by friendly and efficient staff, pleasant surroundings and delicious bramble sponge cake along with much needed super coffee! We didn't spend long there but it appeared to be a mix of locals and holidaymakers and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

A real wee diamond of a place in Stornoway. Fantastic coffee/hot chocolate and absolutely delicious cake/scones/bakes. the place is buzzing, a really nice feeling and the staff are really friendly. Great outside area for sitting when the weather is good, lovely views of the comings and goings on the harbour, boats etc. Really nice little shop too with quality and unusual items. All in all an experience equal to any high class establishment in the city. I noticed a nasty review left previously and felt i wanted to leave this review. do not listen to the 'axe grinder' pay a visit to the blue lobster Stornoway, you will love it.

This cafe does an awesome hot chocolate with all the trimmings. I got a takeaway as no seating left inside or outside and I am sure everyone was looking at the size of my drink! It looked and tasted pretty spectacular! They also sell lovely gifts and could have bought quite a few items from here. They have a lovely harbour/water/boating vibe going on. Staff are lovely and friendly. My only complaint would be the price - I found the homemaking and gifts quite expensive.....perhaps you are paying for the view, which is great!

I love coming to this fantastic wee place! I'm up often with work and love a fix of their delicious coffee and cake as well as some warm and friendly chat from the staff. The place has a great atmosphere and I don't think I've had the same type of cake twice as they have new cakes and fresh baking out every day it seems! The Blue Lobster has a Scandi feel with some lovely bits of home interior to buy also. The seating area looks out onto the harbour and across to Lews castle and there is additional seating outside. It's ideally located right in the centre of the town. I'd absolutely recommend stopping in here- you will definitely experience the best of warm Hebridean hospitality and some delicious home baking too.

I last visited in April 2018 with my daughter and it will be my last. She loved her hot chocolate but I found, like after every other visit, my coffee was bitter and burnt tasting. I know this is a strong word, but it’s always been disgusting. I don’t know if they just have a particular brand of coffee, or the machine is too hot or what, but I have never had a good coffee from here.

We went in here quite simply because it was the closest place to the car and we didn't want to walk any further than we had to in the pouring rain and howling wind. We were wanting breakfast really, but there were no breakfast items available, so we just had coffees, which were good - served in lovely mugs!!

The coffees are great and I cannot compliment the baked produce enough. Absolutely incredible. I only met with 2 members of staff (I'm not 100% sure how many people are employed there) but both members of staff were polite, friendly and attentive. Mac and cheese, whilst nicely served lacked flavour… no salt and pepper on table. Waitress delightful. Partner had the steak, nicely cooked, asked for mustard… none available.

A good cafe for breakfast and lunches serving basic fare ( everything with chips !) and home baking. Open from 8.30 am until last food orders at 3 pm. I had a bacon and black pudding roll which contained a substantial slice of Stornoway black pudding. Waited 20 minutes for it despite the cafe being almost empty. The cafe has an outdoor deck with views over the sea and it is adjacent to the Kilbride campsite. It has free WiFi.

Very poor value, Spent £25 on the seafood platter no langastines so they supplemented with Scallops which i thought would be ok. when it came out there must have been about 2 Scallops thinly sliced fanned over the plate a small piece of fish and small pile of crab meat and two slices of brown bread.

Food was excellent and the Guinness was top notch. Prices were very reasonable and staff were extremely friendly. Would love to return sometime.
