The Blue Fish Co in North Somerset

We went in 2 hours after they opened. We ordered a large doner kebab, 1 chips, peas and gravy. We paid and waited. After a while we were told it would be 10 mins. I look over the counter and saw them just putting the kebab meat on to cook. I did say that will take more than 10 mins and was assured it would be ok. But I could have chicken if I wanted. I also noted there was no chicken meat cooking. When I asked the young server he did not have an answer so I asked to speak to the manger. I asked the young lady why they had been open for 2 hours and only just cooking the kebab. She stated we sell all of last nights first before we cook any fresh. My reply was so you have sold last nights kebab meat warmed up and now just start to cook a fresh one, which will not be fully cooked in 10 mins. The chicken I was offered was also a re heat from the previous night. Her reply was well we are doing nothing illegal !! My response was its not the legality its the fact you are selling day old re heated kebab meat. Do you tell customers this. No she said. So I asked for my money back which she did with bad grace and we went elsewhere. We asked at the place we went to if this normal practice and they were shocked that any shop would look to sell day old meat. WE WILL NOT GO BACK AND WILL TELL ALL WHO GO THERE ABOUT THIS....

Horrible, chips tasted awful, fish had hardly any fish all batter and the batter was soggy and thick,. Complained but was told they couldn't do anything about it will never go back

Furious!! We got told driver had broken down, our food was 45 mins late, when it arrived everything was cold, fish fingers was rock hard, curry sauce had skin on it, I called to complain and manager said she had it all re cooked before delivered out, but said she's not accusing me of lying.... uhh you are lying no way that was re cooked fresh because driver broke down. I asked for refund it got refused but was offered 20% off next time. I sure as hell won't be back I have been up all night with bad tummy and I feel very unwell. I had the chicken. No one else In my house did, they are fine other than had cold food!!!! Now reading their reviews wish I had done that first before ordering!!!!!

Not a fan... chips are a bit undercooked for my liking

Use to be very good but I went in last Saturday and was disappointed, not sure if I'll go again, young lad who served up my food looked about 12 and didn't do it to usual standard, sorry guys like always good service don't last long 😞

Lovely food but… Good always delivered late (by over 30 minutes with no apology) Most recent order, again, 30 minutes late and one meal missing (though it was delivered 15 minutes later). Sadly, despite good food, we won’t be using Blue Fish Co again

We had a fish and chip dinner dinner late, the chips were so soggy they just clumped into one soggy mass and the cod was just OK. Definitely not worth the money as lots better in the area. I should have known not to order from a place with just as many terrible reviews as it has excellent ones.

At first staff seemed okay. But after waiting for my order 25 min when they wasn’t busy to see then gave it someone else. as they came in moaning that it’s wasn’t ready after they had rang up 10 before hand but I’d already waited 20 min for food which was only fish and chips nothing dramatic. And seen they had already messed my order up! After asking was told a lie abt order, chips were horrible. The fish well not really fish more like just batter! The staff were very rude especially 1 of the young lads that works there on the till no apologies. So service is crap and food isn’t any better. Won’t be using them again!

Well what can i say £9.60 for pie and chips and a small curry sauce. Small cold portion soggy chips. My husband saw the prices and decided it was a ridiculous price for the portion. Definitely wouldn't recommend. Silly prices

Decided to try again as everyone can make a mistake. Last time they forgot my daughters sausage but I called up and had a choice of one being delivered or a refund on the sausage and they were very apolitetic. So ordered tonight a tray of donar meat and chips and a chicken burger they messed up again it was a tray of chicken meat and chips have a very unhappy husband will not be going back

Really nice and friendly staff. The food was great, some of the best chicken nuggets I've had from a fish and chips shop. Plenty of options on the menu, so definitely something for everyone. :)

Unfortunately a mistake was made and our child's sausage meal was sausage-less! A quick phone call and one was sent around to our house ASAP. What amazing customer service. The food is excellent and the staff are always friendly. I cannot recommend highly enough. Thank you.

Have used for the last 15/20 years good up until the last year or two . I think they need to order a large kebab and chips from flippers next door to see how it should be done . Or give up offering kebabs ..

You don't expect much atmospfrom a rake away chippy. Service was busy but reasonable wait. The fish was nicely cooked, the chips we OK, the batter was a bit soft so didn't enjoy it. I'll probably give it another try just to see if it was a one off.

On 30/11/23 it was my granddaughters birthday we decided to buy a Fish and Chip supper to save any stress to prep party food as my Daughter had been poorly and we thought it would be easier We rang and ordered 6 fish and chip meals to be delivered at 6pm as my husband had to get there from work Simple’s 😀 I paid at 5.30 a knock at the door, it was our order my husband had literally just arrived On opening the food all I could say was yuck squashed barely warm food the batter was thick and soggy and undercooked. I know I can be fussy so we tried to eat what we could, most went in the bin, rather than cause a fuss but really it spoilt the lovely day we had had Needless to say we won’t be going back !!

I have been in a few times for food. The food is quite nice unfortunately during my recent visit I witnessed (what appeared to be) the manager abusive, aggressive and making threats to a woman. Seeing his intimidating behaviour I will not be returning again. The atmosphere with the staff is very negative.

The food is good some of the staff are awful 😖 😱. And for goodness sake don't work there they talk about you behind your back and give you abuse

We had a delivery - just a small one of a couple of cod and chips and fishcakes and chips. The food was lovely and will definitely be ordering again.

Holidaying in the area. Ordered online , rang first to see how long it would be, polite gentleman said it would be 10 to 15 minutes for collection. Ordered fish and chips peas for us , and jumbo sausage for grandkids. Ready when I arrived, and still hot as I'm staying 3 minutes away. Very tasty Thanks.👍

Been going here for quite a while now really enjoy the kebabs never had an issue but tonight i ordered mixed kebab and drove home 5 miles to find it wasn't mixed just kebab meat and also the meat was tough and over cooked i will think twice now about going back now which is a shame as i did enjoy it

Use Blue Fish fairy regularly now for Haloumi, fish, kebabs & chips. Food is great as is the delivery service.

Delivery was very late. Phone call was a waste of time and delivery person, when he finally got here, was nonchalant and dismissive. Food was cold and needed heating up. Absolutely do not recommend.

1/1/2 hrs wait for a delivery which I was not told when I ordered only when I phoned. to check I was told so cancelled

Was introduced to The Blue fish by our daughter when she ordered the family meal. It was really nice and delivered hot. I ordered a large cod and chips as being pensioners we have limited appetite. The cost was not enough for minimum delivery and so I ordered a cheesecake for hubby £3.80. The meal arrived 15 mins late but I didn’t mind as we are the other end of town. The chips were dry and the fish was not at nice as the last time we had it.. THE CHEESECAKE …….. well as you can see it was all dry and looked like it was well out of date and I would suggest it was. I sent an email straight away to ask what the use by date was and I sent a photo….. no reply, sent another email with photo as I was concerned if this was out of date then it needs to be binned again after three days nothing….. will I order again NO ……. I am back to Kingfisher where I know the food is good and the shop is very clean.

Stuffed crust pizza is amazing! Chips and burgers are always good too. Plenty of options for meat lovers. The only downside is that delivery nearly always takes 15-20 minutes longer than they quote. If you opt to collect the food is always ready on time

Order was 30mins early but apart from that the haddock and chips was amazing and the curry sauce is the best we have had. Chips have improved from last time we ordered awhile ago. Well done

Used this chippy while on holiday at a nearby caravan park. Great food, good size portions, shop was very clean. Staff pleasant and polite. Will definitely be using again when we return to the area.

One of the best mixed kebabs in WsM. The order online and delivery service is excellent bonus too.

Order made on early evening of Wednesday23rd March 2022. Disappointing and could do better. Delivery food temperature was warm at best. Quality of batter was rather limp and soggy. Fish not that good. Ended up throwing half of the order in food recycle bin. Has been much better than this. Seemed to have been cooked in oil at lower temperature or left standing too long in draining rack warmer. Sorry guys - can do better.

Has this place changed hands ?? I am a regular very happy before, my last order last month. very late , stone cold, phoned and messaged no response, thought I would give them another chance tonight , almost an hour late. Cold food again , the cheese garlic bread I have had many times before stone cold wafer thin , with an average order of £40 to £50 pounds each time , there won't be a third chance 😭

Used to be great. About a month ago I ordered a quite regular family take out , an hour late. Stone cold, no answer by phone or email. But I thought maybe a one off so tonight I thought let's give them another go. After 25mins after the delivery slot, phoned the shop they guy said it's still in the shop but it's leaving now, I could walk to the shop in 10mins , it turned up 25mins later so nearly an hour late , stone cold, the garlic pizza bread was like a burnt (but cold crisp) go back to what you did 6 months ago. That worked .

Food is Disgusting and arrives cold and late I phoned to complain and was answered by a the person who said he delivered it hot but I would not of phoned them back if this was the case,he was rude and patronising trying to tell me the food was hot but clearly it was not he said he could offer a credit but quite frankly I do not want any food from there again.

Good quality and service, but a bit pricey.Perhaps we are paying for the smart packaging.

Today was the first time I have used this chip shop to buy a straight forward Cod & Chips and I won’t be going back. The shop is clean, nicely fitted out, the staff are courteous and smile beautifully s they ask for £8.10p for one portion of Cod & Chips!! As I drove home I thought that it had better be fantastic for that price, was it? No, not particularly, there are several Fish & Chip shops in and around Worle and Weston super Mare is littered with them that I could have chosen, unfortunately my usual first choice was closed so I went to The Blue Fish, wish I’d gone to the one a few shops away, as I said, I won’t be going again.

We have use Blue Fish on a regular basis for a while. Always had good delivery, fresh food. This evening, v disappointing. Delivery was due by 7.15, by 7.55 I called them and all of a sudden delivery arrived within 5 mins. Cold. Very disappointing. No excuse, no apology even though we are regular customers. Most of it is now in the bin. What a waste.

Rubbish service, late cold un helpful staff. Order placed at 4.30pm for 6pm delivery arrived at 6.40 no apologies Everything was cold

Just had the best fish and chips ever in Weston super mare. The chips were lovely and the fish was beautifull white cod. The best we've ever had we shall be visiting here again lovely polite staff to. Presented lovely to nothing was to much trouble for them

Fish, chips and burgers are lovely. Full size pizzas taste underbaked and taste like yeast, kids pizzas are hard, chewy and taste like pure tomato puree. Will avoid ordering pizzas again.

Cheesy chips and mixed kebab. Cheese on the chips was tasteless. Kebab was cold. Had from here a few times over the years and always hit n miss. I wouldn't bother if I were you. That was the last straw for me. Won't bother again.

Quick service but unfortunately that was because it wasn't freshly cooked to order. Battered sausages were soggy and the chips weren't very warm. Good portion sizes though. Would rather wait 15 mins and have everything fresh.

had cod and chips........when i got home All batter on cod had come off and was limp.....had large chips but it was a very small amount for large chips. Didnt enjoy it at all

Been using this takeaway for last few months started off well great chips good cod kebab meat ok. Last few deliveries food always cold considering I'm less than a mile away disappointing food quality seems to be on slide.

I ordered a piece of cod and with the order I asked for 2 pieces of cod no batter and two lots of scallops when I got home there was no cod with batter as that was the first piece I ordered but they were very friendly people very clean I've got to admit I should have looked at my receipt

Lovely staff, scrumptious fish and chips

Not the first time family have eaten from here but my first time as not keen on fish and chips. Ordered a battered jumbo sausage but when we got him it was a non battered sausage they had given, i had orders a haddock and chips which tasted great just wasn’t that crisp and batter was half soggy and stuck to chips when plating up. As mentioned before family have eaten here and was slightly disappointed with today’s experience but let it go due to it being busy with NYE.

Had cheesey chips. Cheese was very bland.

Just been in for my first visit & certainly won’t be my last. For an extremely fussy person, also a vegetarian, I was very impressed. Fantastic friendly service, very clean & hygienic. Food was perfect. My new favourite :-) keep up the good work guys! 10/10.

Really poor portion size, food barely warm and poor customer service £3.20 for a large chips and there was barely any in there my partner questioned it and the women said well it’s a large chips that’s it... We’ve been a few time before and it’s a bit pot luck what you receive. Such a shame

Order from here regularly and all meals are always ok for the money paid so keep up the good work guys
