Lovely food been twice fresh everytime

Chips were awful. Stank of fat and half cooked. Went straight in the bin. Worst chips I’ve ever had, the smell made me feel quite ill.

Food was cooked fresh, we had cod n chips, scampi n chips and a kids sausage n chips as well as a couple of extra sausages. It was a good size portion and all very tasty, not greasy at all and the fish was lovely. The only downside was the cost, just over £30 which we felt was about a fiver too much for fish n chips, but then everything is expensive these days! Worth a visit.

Good Chippy!. Saw people eating them outside and went back to get some as they looked so good. Decently priced, cooked quickly, portions were just enough. (We had battered sausage & chips with curry)

Nice Batter: The fish batter was golden and crispy, just the way it should be. It complemented the fish beautifully. Outdoor Seating: Now, here’s where it gets tricky. Unfortunately, I had to sit outside due to limited indoor space. The cold breeze did take away from the overall experience. If only they had some cozy blankets or patio heaters! Adds to the experience of braving the British weather ! In summary, The Blue dolphin is a solid choice for fish and chips lovers. Just be prepared for the chilly outdoor seating if you visit during colder weather. Portion sizes are an absolute joke for the price. Was the best chippy in hemsby a few years back. Last couple of years it's gone well down hill. Literally is just for holiday makers to use. I'm a local but definitely the last time I waste my money in this chippy. Not impressed at all, the food doesn't even taste nice! 😡 Advice for others.. go somewhere else for your fish and chips!!

Chips were absolutely lovely, just a shame the portion size was so small. Couldn't tell the difference between my child's portion and a regular adults portion.

We were on holiday, and we wanted go find a nice chippy near by where we were staying. Sorry but I won't ever be coming back here, because your chip portion is the size of cone of chips. They're not a standard portion of chips. Fish was mediocre. The savaloy who someone had in the family, was the best part of the meal. Wasn't worth the money we spent Lucky to get 2 stars, but only an extra star because the savaloy was good

No complaints on the food nor the service. It wasn’t overly extravagant but then again it is a chippy in Hemsby. The prices were okay and the fact that each order was fulfilled before taking another one was a bonus. The only downside to this place was the outside benches, they were filthy.

After reading alot of your reviews we decided to try it ...the portion sizes were small but we did enjoy them , the batter on the sausages was lovely , as was the curry sauce , the only downside for us was the gravy was very watery ...

If a chip shop can't even fry chips how are they still in business awful just awful save you self time and money to.i gave it a second chance but nothing has changed they just don't care about wot they sell owner's should be absolutely ashamed of selling that wot can only be described as pig swill to hard working families who are also struggling with the cost of living crisis too shame on you

One of the best chippies in Hemsby, imo. It could be because they use new potatoes??? Both chips and fish were fresh and not oily, delicious. Staff were friendly. Went there a few times during our stay.

2x fish & chips. Purchased Monday7th Aug 2023. My daughter ended up in a&e Yarmouth. Vomiting 🤢 on & off all night until it was just bile. Severe G.I./ Food poisoning???I'm diabetic and luckily l ate 5-6 mouthfuls and realised something was off-key. Feel like going to Health & Food Safety. £17.00 has spoiled 2 days of Holiday Lost.

Lovely little chippy the food was very tasty and portion size is really good

We had had a nice set of fish & chips a few days previously so we came back to have more. However, we got turned away this time because he said “I’m not cooking now” despite waiting in the queue 15 mins behind somebody who had ordered a lot. I thought the least they could have done was just serve us, that’s £20 in orders down the drain on a school week. Clearly not customer-focused business

Ordered food at 8.50 and was told that he would have to put the fryer back on. He was clearly annoyed by this. While waiting a couple of the lads working kept shouting "why have people got to come right before close". Got back to caravan to find half my order was missing. If you don't want to work until 9 shut the shop earlier. Pretty sure you'll be paid until after 9 anyhow.

Nice fish and chips, friendly service prices reasonable for seaside resort.

Got 2 cod with chips, the batter was soggy and the fish was undercooked , to the extent that 1 went into the bin. The chips we full of black eyes and black patches. Unfortunately not the quality we normally get from here 😔

we ordered 2x cod and chip meals and a portion of chips. fish wasn't cooked fully and batter was still gloopy, chips were greasy soggy and poor quality. unable to eat the fish went straight in the bin worsed chippy ive ever eaten.

First things first, the food is really nice, chips and Sausage were faultless. It's the slow service and queuing system that let's this rather nice place down. Once you have given your order, eventually after being ignored for a bout 5 minutes whilst they cope with the last batch of orders, your given a fob that let's you know when your meal is ready you take this until it bleeps, bout 14 minutes from the order (timed). Now this method is a bit ancient in its way, who go in to a chip shop and waits this time length, and given a fob. I suggest you dish up each order as it is done. Its also very expensive.

Crispy chips that were not too greasy. Tasty fish and a good size portion. Buzzer system a great idea. Didn't wait too long on a busy Easter weekend.

Regular chips and battered sausage was exactly what I ordered. The chips were smaller than expected but were equally as nice as the Hemsby chip shop. THE SAUSAGE IN MY OPINION WAS NICER. Pricing was more than Hemsby chip shop, by a pound more, for less chips and a marginally nicer sausage.

Pleasant staff. The food was hot and tasty. I would use again.

We ate there before covid was really nice....not now fish was so thin and tasteless and the chips are a disgrace not peeled properly. Still had brown skin on them and rock hard bits of nothing basically...very disappointed won't use agdin

No british sea side holiday is complete without going for fish and chips and The Blue Dolphin smashed it. Perfectly battered cod and freshly fried chips doused in salt and vinegar. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.

20 plus minutes for sauage chips and curry sauce, chips tasteless curry sauce like coloured water no words to describe the sauage. Why do I have to give a star when it deserves - stars

Stunning food, have been here for years always stop by when staying in hemsby. Would have given 5 stars but sometimes the wait for food can eat into your holiday time. However that said they have introduced a pager system that allows you to order and wait outside on there seating, once your food is ready you get a bleep to come and collect your food. They are friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend this establishment, the wait is worth it.

Wasn't too bad in all honesty, bit pricey, but what isnt these days? As I live far from the coast, it was nice to taste a decent fish & chips meal. On another note, I am disgusted that every cash machine in the vicinity charges for cash withdrawals. Bloody robbery 👎

Honestly one if not the worst fish and chips ive had. I live 3 hours inland and i promise you its better than these on tge the COAST. Chips tasted boiled and undercooked. Cod was ok if you get right in the middle. The rest looked liked it was cooked in a tumble dryer. Wish i had checked reviews before hand but you live and learn

Hand on heart this is the most awful fish and chips I have ever experienced! Fish wasn’t fresh (and I don’t care if they say otherwise) and the ‘chips’ were soggy, undercooked lumps of potatoes! Had a mouthful of each and gave up - even our dog wouldn’t eat them ……… AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

Fish and chips here are always so good, fish batter is crispy as the fish always tastes fresh. Chips are also good and the curry sauce is so nice! The staff are so friendly and always have a smile. Also I think it is a good price in a prime location.

Being totally honest the chips are like boiled potatoes with no flavour or care . It has too be one of the worst places too eat but in a prime location so will always be half busy due too high demand of chips in the middle of amusements . Needs a total revamp . The attitude of staff needs too improve. The food there serving up needs too be improved. The menu needs updating. Very poor. Will give 1* just because I have too give a star 🌟 but really that star belongs too the hotdog store next door. Sorry guys review is a poor one but it's honesty

OK fish and chip bar, does delivery if required and not part of just eat app, caters to all needs of dietary requirements face mask to be worn unless you are exempt since covid its one in and one out, great service bit pricey but get more for your money

Nice enough food..... but...... we waited about 40 minutes for 2 cod and a sausage... I've never known a fish and chip shop to be so slow - would not use again.

Beautifully cooked chips, and I can see from my chips the oil has recently been changed. Covid friendly and not too much of a wait. The batter on my sausage was that of a good amount. I was sceptical at first given the reviews I have read but I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch from the blue dolphin today..

Hardly cooked sloppy greasy chips, the thinnest piece greasy under cooked battered cod really bad we binned our 4 portions! Had terrible fish chips in yarmouth few years ago this was on oar as the worst ever had...well done 👏

Disappointed. Saw a fare sized que outside which would generally suggest it's a good place to go. The wait to collect my order was long which I understood as they were quite busy, but equally thought this would be a good sign that they take pride and care in what they do. On getting the food back to our holiday home and opening, disappointment struck. The portions were poor for the money we paid (we are by no means a greedy family and get a lot of comments from friends and family on how small our portions are that we eat at home) and the quality matched in disappointment. Undercooked anemic chips, fish that was soggy and the size of a gold fish you used to win at the fare. My experience unfortunately has given me the opinion that they take advantage of their location in that they are one of the very few establishments to get fish and chips from in the area. I understand that the food service industry has been hard hit by the pandemic and establishments need to do all they can to ensure they are profitable, stay open and pay their staff, but ripping the customer off is not the right way to fo about it.

Ordered a few times and the big portions were a good size , but my last order I payed for 3 large portions of chips and they only gave me small portions, when confronting them they were rude and said that was there large portions. I Wouldn't recommend as they were rude and never gave me my money worth.

Queues outside at 19.30,turned away as they didn't want to cook anything but sausage and chips,they lost out on our order of around £40,went across the road to oasis and had great food

Have fish and chips delivered from the blue dolphin when we visit Hemsby . Good size portions at a reasonable price add this to helpful friendly service. Your on a winner .

Stopped on the way home with the kids on 23/4/21 small wait but so worth it, the best chips I think I have ever had, I have been searching for that proper chip shop chip for so long and this is it great price too for the amount you get (loads) will travel again for sure

Just had lovely fish and chips delivered from The Blue Dolphin and all delivered with masks and gloves on in accordance with Covid recommendatios. Within 20 minutes of ordering.Nicely packed, piping hot. Lovely crisp batter on the fish and chips cooked just right without too much fat. We enjoyed them very much. Definitely recommend them.

The fish ok okay but extremely oily. The chips were packed directly on top of the fish and this made them also very oily and soggy. Large portions, distance kept inside one way system.

Stopped here on the off chance and what a gem, excellent fish’n’chips and staff so friendly. Will come here again next time I’m visiting Hemsby.

Good food, very friendly and helpful staff. Best place in Hemsby to get fish and chips. The prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. There is also some benches outside so you can get your munch on in the sun.

I read reviews before we went, we had seen food outside b4 and didnt think it looked appetising, so havent been here at all..after reviews took a punt and tried it..fish is thin...thats a fact so not great..batter ok though..chips quite nice and considering other reviews mention good portion size..we didnt think it was that great...tbh...not the best..not the worst..just ok..

Just had the worst fish and chips every,the fish was definitely not cod,was awful could not eat them and they were very expensive. Definitely not go there again.
