The Blue Bell - Sandiacre in Erewash

Me, my girlfriend and 2 friends were refused service and told the pub is 25+, we provided iD prior to this. Pretty offensive, and for no apparent reason. Clearly just not welcome for some reason. White Lion much better, can’t fault them

Very rude landlord. Took a drink off me when I wasn't drunk and hadn't done or said anything bad to anyone. Won't be going back.

Fantastic Pub with Great Landlord and Landlady who provide a safe environment where ladies feel safe even when not accompanied by their partners. This is a credit to the management who have years of experience running great local pubs for the very supportive local community. Excellent Beer too!

Great "local" pub. Had all the feel of a traditional pub without the intimidating welcome you can sometimes find. Staff and punters friendly and relaxed. A lovely spot for a few Sunday afternoon jars.

New landlord is extremely rude, miserable, judgemental and needs to take a refresher course in customer service. A friend had arranged to meet for new year's drinks here and arrived just before us, she had checked the smoking area to see if we had arrived and stood outside whilst she called to see where we were, only to be rudely told MOVE NOW!! and forced to stand on the pavement off the premises. Safe to say we are starting new year's drinks at the plough this year and will boycott bluebell here on out and tell everyone else to as well. I dares bet the decline in custom is down to the new landlord too, as previously the pub has thrived and used to be an enjoyable place to spend weekends and week nights. Disgusting service from an already declining pub. Safe to say our money will not be spent here when clearly this landlord doesn't value his customers old or new. Honestly appalled

I sometimes use the blue bell and sometimes after a ride out on my motorbike I have always found the place good and they especially like k9 good pub

After a hard day work I like to have a clear pint and I can take my dog and relax 😌

My 26 year old son was unable to buy a pint as he didn't have his original driving licence with him, only photographic proof when 18 is the legal age to buy and consume alcoholic beverages which he clearly looks over. Jobsworths with no customer facing skills behind the counter yet again, why?????? This was on Thursday evening 13/07/23 as we were the visiting pool team.

Busy locals pub. Good selection of largers and ciders, real ale selection was a bit limited.

Friendly warm atmosphere great beer landlord and landlady always with a smile and a welcome

Not the friendliest welcome I've ever had, barstaff seemed slightly confused/annoyed by the question as to wether a particular beer was pale or not. A bit bright in terms of decor and lighting it just didn't give off the friendly local pub vibe. But it was OK, not great not terrible.

The women staff was very nice, made us feel welcome, the male landlord however, turned aggressive after being asked if he's been drinking tonight, he previously turned down service to my friend after saying he was on drugs despite him being sober, tonight after asking whether he was drinking (he clearly was, kept spilling pints and confusing which way we wanted to pay),he turned agrresive and then proceeded to follow us into the beer garden and throw my pint all over me while I was trying to help the situation.Honestly the staff are nice but the landlord is an egotistical small man. - Edit: you snatched the drink out of my hand and spilled it all over me despite me trying to calm the situation down, I in no way threw anything on or at you, check those security tapes you desperately wanted, check your facts mate

We hadn't been in before despite living quite close by, as whenever we past it previously, we hadn't seen it open!! We were pleased with the welcome from the Landlady and Jasper 😊 had a good half pint of Craft beer. Its such a shame that you can't get a meal there, we think it could be a little gold mine, even with a small "different" menu. A Sunday Lunch would really go down well. 😍

Brilliant Pub which is now in the good hands of a really nice experienced Landlord & Lady. The drinks are still a little more expensive than other pubs but way better than the other pubs. Service and other bar staff are excellent and a pleasure to sit inside the pub or outside when ever the weather will allow. They don't do food except some really nice Cobs etc. yet but I understand there are plans in the future to do more. Excellent Beer Garden.

Lovely welcome brilliant bar staff and the place is very nicely decorated, very good real ales as well , will be going back in the near future.

Rude staff - landlord in particular. As well as our personal experience of his attitude I hear he’s been rude to several others too in the short time he’s been there. I’ll look forward to him being replaced before we return there .

Our first time here after moving into the area. The staff were nice, they had clearly put a lot of effort into making outside the pub a nice and spacious place to sit. We were greeted quickly and shown to the seating area where we could choose a table. Our drinks came quickly and we're nice and chilled. I would probably have given 5 stars if we could have seen inside

As it was the last night before we went into the national lockdown, we had a good night and 🍴. I think the staff were very nice and they were coping well.

A decent enough country style pub this, cozy, a locals sort of place, yet welcoming to strangers. It nearly closed some months back, so come here to judge for yourself, and help prevent another of our country's great community assets from closing.

Been in a quiet few times since its reopened lovely couple keep a nice beer and make you feel welcome. What more can you ask for.

Newly opened and a fresh start, we wish Di and Allen all the best ithis venture. It has potential to be a great local pub again. Just a shame the local footy club had a live and loud band, the Bell got the blame for! Definitely not them!

Really really disappointed. As a regular for the last 18 years , we visited tonight to find no wine available to purchase. 🤔

We have just had my grandma's wake at the Blue Bell. They have soo helpful with all off the arrangements and Louise has been brilliant and made us all feel very welcome. We will return back to this great pub, just for a cheeky couple.

Poor customer service. Lack of soft drinks....don't think I've ever been spoken to in such a poor manner

Spoken to rudely at last orders, the Bar woman told us to drink up before she pours our pints down the sink and that "Some people have work in the morning' then started shouting at us, using very bad language. - wouldnt go in there again. very poor customer service skills.

Great real ales and a good atmosphere

Excellent pub. Great pint of Ghost Ship. Friendly staff. The one downside is that the landlord supports Liverpool, but you can't have everything! :-)
