Beer-fantastic; we’ll deserved placing in CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide - Bass (Red Triangle) and Grainstore Ten-Fifty spot on. Visited for Sunday lunch….now what a good meal this is. Proper home cooked roast (beef today) and veg + a pudding for £10! Portions just the right size. Highly recommended…we’ll be back.

Friendly greeting on arrival. Bar and waiting staff friendly. Beer choice was ok. Food menu looked fine, pub grub type menu. Starters - deep fried mushrooms, nice and loads of them. Deep fried Brie - nice but only 2 small pieces. Main course - fish and chips, lots of it, average quality. Burger and chips, awful - tasted either very cheap quality or something wrong with it, possibly worst burger I have ever had. However, they adjusted my bill without me asking which was appreciated as I didn’t eat even a quarter of my main meal. Worth popping in for the environment, twinkly light and nice inside, but only if you want cheap pub grub.

Such a lovely experience. A birthday lunch with friends and the food was excellent. The best steak and kidney suet pudding. The lamb shank was delicious and we all had a great time. Lovely home cooked food.

Been to the blue bell over many years and always found the food very good., But last night we both had sirlon steaks and without a doubt the best steaks we have both had. Good range of beers and lagers, Caters for everyone. this pub has a good following in the area for lunch and dinner. They also have a good selection of vegetarian dishes, Family friendly and very good service. I would reccomend it.

I have known this pub since my teenage years when I lived in the neighbouring village of Ryhall. It has always served good pulled real ale and has a deserved reputation for home cooked hearty fare at fair prices - it did not disappoint ! Portion sizes are best described as generous unless you're a gannet I defy anyone to consume the whole mixed grill it really is a monster ! It's popular with locals which is always a good sign and in the winter months there are fires to give that extra snug feel - well worth a visit !

If you want a no nonsense meal, excellent choice of beers and wines, at a very reasonable price, served by very friendly and attentive staff you need to look no further than this country pub. Great atmosphere in comfortable surroundings would recommend it to anyone visiting the Stamford/Rutland area

Very nice little pub, serves very tasty food, shame they don't start the menu at 6pm though not 7pm as we went at 6 and ended up elsewhere as our time was short for a meal so couldn't wait.

Popped in during a long Sunday walk for a late lunch. Place was busy, which is a good sign, and while we hadn't booked a table, staff went out of their way top ensure we were seated. Food itself was good, really good...beef was tender, tasty and succulent, and accompanied by a good selection of veg. Definitely worth a visit and sampling for yourself...

We went there to have a meal, we should have booked, as half the walking fraternity of Lincolnshire had arrived at the same time (1230). We were told that a table for 4 would be ready in 45 minutes, and it was. Great food, service etc. The servings were very ample, and not at all expensive. Very impressive. A little side track, if you like "Witches" especially quirky dolls, then this pub is full of em!

Our grandchildren love a trip to the Olive Kitchen, it is quirky and fun. The best of pancakes and waffles are made there and that is the best thing. Tony is always good value and always loves to see people.
