A small little pub, with a little beer tap list. Friendly service, surprisingly completely empty at lunch time. Indoor and outdoor seating.

Very nice bar (Pub) almost 200 years old, good food and beers too, it's like traveling to the past, the people who serve are very friendly, but obviously you have to order something to eat, I highly recommend it...

In the Uk licensing laws allow a 20 min drink up time from last serve. These folkers give you 10 mins and a plastic cup. But still tell you to get off the premises before then. Happy to serve you to the last minute but don’t try to drink your drink. Central London shut down. Staff not very nice either. Avoid folks not worth it.

A nice pub situated between the British Museum and Covent Garden (under a 10 minute walk). They only had 2 cask ales and I chose The Spitfire ale, very tasty. The bar area is not large but there is additional seating upstairs and ample seating outside. Despite the wood panelling the bar area is very due to the magnificent arched stained glass windows. The service was excellent and the staff friendly. As with many old pubs the gents toilets are in the basement (ladies upstairs), these are accessed by a steep staircase. In summary a nice pub to visit.

Typical English pub with good airconditioning. Comfortable chairs. Nice drinks available. Nice place to sit, relax, drink a bier, eat something after a long siteseeing walk.

A good quality London boozer - not stupidly expensive with a v good range of Shepherd Neame beers, including their excellent bottled IPA. Wine reported to reasonable for a pub - not the revolting 'Stowells of Chelsea from a tap linked to the waste water plumbing'.

It is old, it is authenitc, the food is great (for english standards, be prepared to season ) and they know it. Everything was OK. No cider on tap.

A pleasant place to enjoy a drink. Felt comfortable to sit and chat. Not too noisy, or too busy Sunday afternoon. Thanks.

Didn't eat but the service was good.

My friends & I came here for lunch after visiting thr Britih Museum. We are seniors and climbed the stairs to sit at a table for lunch. We put our orders at the bar on the ground floor. When the - not very good food - arrived I asked the server for a jug of water. She didn't even stop as she walked away but threw a remark over her sholder at me that I, if I wanted water I could go down to the bar and get it myself. The pub was not busy, the bar staff busied themselve having a chat.

I only got one drink here but it was welcoming, there was room to sit, and the game was on tv! The cider I got was tasty too and I didn't have to wait long at all for it.

This place was GREAT! Large potions, VERY tasty food, friendly workers, and great atmosphere. If I lived here, this would be a regular hangout.

Cute and convenient spot for a pint after visiting the British Museum! Although I’d recommend Americans go elsewhere, as one of the bartenders complained to another how he was sick of Americans right after we ordered and sat down. I understand Americans aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, but it was uncomfortable to hear them complain about us directly in front of us

A super cosy Tudor-esque pub with the most inviting of atmospheres. The drinks and food are great as well as the location. The staff are some of the most lovely and accommodating people I've ever met and I will undoubtedly be returning.

We enjoyed our a pie and a beer here for our lunch during a quick stopover in London. Feels local, friendly and has an English Pub character. Food was reasonably good, the beer was enjoyable and the prices were probably representative of the area. Great place to try.

Popped in for a drink. Lovely quaint traditional pub. Beer poured to perfection. Good old Shepherd Neame. Limited menu but please don't let that put you off. It's a really old small traditional pub. Great friendly polite staff. Because it's old the stairs for gents toilet downstairs are steep and tight. So not suitable for people with limited mobility. Definitely worth a visit

An old style pub with fairly expensive prices due to its locality. I like the atmosphere, don't particularly enjoy the introduction of the American tip system, although, to be fair, I was advised.

I only had a chance to have a quick half pint in the Bloomsbury Tavern on Christmas Eve but it was more than enough to sign me up for a proper visit the next time I’m in London. A night pub atmosphere with a decent beer selection and well drinks. Can't comment on the food but our beer and well drink were proper. Staff was friendly.

A pub we just stopped by on our way and ended up spending two hours, loved the cosiness and the homely feeling.

Coming back from the British Museum took a gamble on choosing this for our much needed repast come mid-afternoon. And found ourself with a winner, the meal was surprisingly swift in being served despite being tailored to our preferences too. The wife thoroughly enjoying her huge haddock portion, and I likewise my most excellent 'naked' burger. Tasted as just cooked, rather than having lingered under a hot lamp. Service and the staff excellent, keeping the area commendaby clean. This was pub lunch at it's finest.

Very nice pub with tasty food and cold beer. Atmosphere itself very local. People are nice and friendly! Very good place to have a rest with cold beer and some food. Will come back next time.

Perfect post-British Museum stop. Seasonal ales, quick and a super friendly and dedicated young crew. Standard (and good) pub grub with fresh seasonal sides. I had the meat pie with an awesome red cabbage side! No crowds despite the vicinity of the British Museum. Prices are OK.

Quintessential London pub, great food and great pints. There clearly a reason Bloomsbury has such a storied history. Will definitely be back soon for delicious Haddock and Chips, or their great burger.

Great ‘local’ pub in central london. Staff who seem to care and provide a good service. Nice atmosphere.

First server wasn't sure what gins they had, then offered Tanq 10. Second server got 2 out of 5 drinks wrong upon ordering too.

This is a wonderful pub, selling great Shepherd Neame beers. The staff were wonderfully helpful and pleasant. A good place to drink. Will aim to come again next time in London.

Solid food. Tried the pie and fish & chips. Very nice. Pie gravy and mashed potatoes were well made. The bar staff were a bit too laid back, but kitchen staff seemed to be on their game.

Marginally better than a Greene King, but generally a bit scuzzy, Neck Oil tasted bad, there was a junkie in the toilet who then made a scene on the way out (credit to the staff for coping with the situation). Not likely to re-visit.

Enjoyed my visit to the Bloomsbury Tavern. It's well-positioned to stop by after a visit to the nearby British Museum. Spent a couple hours at the museum then visited the Tavern. Apparently the tavern is haunted by a ghost that causes disloyal men to piddle on their shoes when they're using the urinal. Thought that was an interesting story from a reliable local. Staff were good and polite, few outdoor tables for people-watching. I had a sandwich, which is a good option to have on the menu for a pub thats well positioned for a quick bite.

This little Shepherd Neame pub has always been a great place for a quick pitstop as it's excellently located at the top of Shaftesbury Avenue. With recent roadworks now completed, with part pedestrianisation, sitting outside at one of the four small tables, is more of a delight than ever. There is a good selection of drinks and prices are decent. Haven't eaten here for a while, but the food/menu looks good. Staff are friendly to locals and tourists (and there are plenty!) alike.

Decent pub food - the loaded fries were way more loaded then expected which was a pleasant surprise. Pimms cup was fine, beer pretty good. Best part is that it's barely 5 minutes from the British Museum so it's a good spot to rest after/before with decent food, service, and drinks

Good beer but the food is terrible. We had 2 meals, Pie and Pork and apple sausages. The pie was overcooked with pastry like leather and burnt filling, the mash potato was almost inedible. The sausages were tasteless and again the mash not edible. Despite being very hungry, we left approximately half of the meal. We cannot recommend this place for food.

We visited for a couple of pints on our way through Bloomsbury and we were very happy with our experience! Friendly staff, good selection of beer on tap and the pub is well looked after. We didn’t have any food, but the prices seemed reasonable. Would certainly visit again!

Decent enough food here with haddock and chips x 3 and a ham and egg salad with chips and chutney ordered with hunger. The four of us all enjoyed our meals eating every morsel. The dining room upstairs is a pleasant airy place with many windows allowing natural light to enter giving a nice feel. We did find all of the staff very friendly and attentive giving info on gluten free food with good knowledge and manners. Lovely touch. £17 or £18 pound for haddock and chips, £14 for the ham meal , not too bad considering they were lovely. We would easy return to the Bloomsbury if ever in the area again.

The pints are very reasonable but PLEASE bring back the affordable lunch options for us locals. The fish finger sandwich was great but it's now £10.50 which is just too much for a weekday lunch with a drink. Before it was £6 without chips which made it viable as a weekly treat with a pint.

Had a few pints while watching the Wimbledon men's final. Excellent.

Netter Pub, angeblich über ca. 140 Jahre alt. Das Essen ist teuer, aber gut! Die Bedienungen waren normal nett. Nochmals müsste jetzt nicht sein, aber das liegt vermutlich eher daran, dass ich nur in irgendeinem Pub was Essen und Trinken wollte.

Called in for a drink on the way home from the theatre. Lovely atmosphere, great little bar with good staff. Beware though, last orders at 10.45pm.
