Caravan in Camden

We were up near Kings Cross for some early morning shopping and headed to the main square for some lunch. Lovely sunny day and it was fun to sit out and watch the goings on. The staff were helpful and the ordering is all via a qr code. Food was a sort of north african/med mash up and was washed down with some decent rose. All very good and would come back.

My friend and I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere but it could have been improved with better service. We were seated outside and perhaps that area was understaffed but it should never have taken that long to get a drink, order food, get the food, and get the bill. We had to flag a staff member down each time (except for getting the food). The servers did not seem happy at all to be there. I have eaten at other Caravan restaurants in the past and would likely not come back to this one (until I read that they’ve sorted their short-staffing issue). Please do better.

Very pleasantly surprised. We just looked for a place to have a drink outside but then ended up having dinner as the food looked and smelled deciduous. And that was the case! Food is great, and the service was brillant. Our experience is that everyone was super helpful and pleasant. I would return and recommend! (The inside was packed and more noisy. )

We were a party of 6 adults and wanted a brunch @ 11 We dropped by there at 9:30 as we were attending the moonwalkers 10AM show at Lightroom . They would not reserve tables for parties of less than 8 . We did try to book on line the previous day but not for 6 .(why not?) We arrived at 11 and there was a 40 minute wait at the bar constantly in the way of waiters and very uncomfortable. We eventually got a table and the food was not cheap but very good . However the entire experience was frantic noisy and uncomfortable and I would not go again in a group .

The food, location and decor are the highlights of Caravan. The service is what lets this place down massively. You’ve got to hope to get their attention and then when they do come over there’s little interaction. Food and drinks came with not even a smile and minimal connection to the customer. No customer checks to see if everything was okay. Plates were collected with no interaction or checks to make sure was okay. No questions if we wanted coffee or anything else. Thankfully you can pay without having to have contact with them by using the Sunday app. Such a shame as it could be great and it probably was at some point. Won’t be visiting again

Great food (feel like I’m eating healthy too) great cocktails, great service in an atmospheric setting.

Went for Brunch here on Sunday and it was utterly fantastic. Food and coffee was excellent, and the service from Farai and Cristina was superb. Highly recommend you stop by!

It was my first time dining at Kings Cross. Safe to say it won't be the last! Lovely food and service! Cristina and Farai were so kind and accommodating!

The vegan dishes were exceptional, better than many specialist vegan restaurants. A few more on offer of this quality would be amazing !

The fry don't stop to the appearance it was the best English breakfast ever. Love the home made beans 😍

Really nice Area of London to grab food that doesn’t feel like you’re right next to international train stations, the outside area is lovely and staff aren’t hovering over you to get going either so you can enjoy a relaxed brunch and then get going once you’re ready. I highly recommend the pancakes, they were incredible.

The food is overpriced and not worth for the taste.

The food was excellent and it is a good atmosphere. It is a bit noisy when busy, so be prepared for that.

I chose this place based on recommendations for being a good spot to work with my laptop. However, the Wi-Fi wasn't working, and despite asking twice, the staff insisted the issue was with my laptop. I also tried connecting with my phone, but it clearly indicated a network issue. While I understand the place gets busy, it's definitely not laptop or work-friendly, and the staff didn't seem particularly concerned about resolving the problem.

Super efficient and delicious lunch.

Quick service. Many vegetarian options. The only issue is that they auto bill you into paying 1£ for a charity of their choice. If I want to donate to a charity, I will do it when and where I want to. This needs to stop.

You need a lexicon to understand the fancy names they give their food. In the end I got a chicken breast floating in baked beans (they didn't call it that !), which tasted ok but for the price they charged it wasn't much to write home about (quantity and quality). When asking for the invoice, they added a 12.5% service charge (!), I can't remember having seen that on the menu. The service was ok, but not great. It is a non-cash business, but when I wanted to pay they refused my Amex card. Not going back.

Rania and Daniel are the LOVELIEST most kind sweet and accommodating people I’ve met in a long time. Love ! Can’t wait to go back to Caravan to see them and have a lovely meal !

Too expensive for what it is. Give a fancy name to chicken breast with baked beans and charge a substantial sum, plus a 12.5% service charge for what wasn't much of a service. Outside seating fine, inside way too noisy. Mixed toilets... Not going back.

Restaurant un peu bruyant. Service très rapide, bonne nourriture quoique la pizza au chorizo aurait pu être plus généreuse en chorizo.

This is just the most brilliant restaurant with the most exciting and innovative menu for those of us who are vegetarian and gluten-free. Without doubt the best place I have been to in many years and the service was impeccable and so Friend.

I went here with one of my closest friends earlier this evening. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the venue was lovely. The staff were so helpful and I would come here again 💚

Great venue and a great menu too! The friendly staff were attentive , but not intrusive . Our food arrived promptly and beautifully presented. The cod dumplings, hispi cabbage and broken lamb meatballs were fab , and the sides of fries, flatbread and mini salad brought the whole meal together. The margaritas were the best ever!

I booked this restaurant to come for brunch on my birthday at 11am. Upon arrival we were told the morning kitchen had closed and the lunch kitchen would only open at 12pm. Why would you allow a booking at 11 if this was the case ? Since I didn’t want to wait close to an hour to order, I had to wander around looking for a place to eat last minute on my birthday, you can imagine what a unpleasant experience that was.

Lovely staff that found and then hung on to some practically worthless but personal useful bit of lost property for ages for me until I could swing by to pick it up. The dinner was great too. A wide enough variety of different dishes — old favourites and novel combinations — to keep any group happy, in a relaxed, informal setting. And, by London standards, it won’t break the bank either. I’ll be back!

Lovely atmosphere, great service but the cod dumplings weren't too good because it was way too spicy. You couldn't taste the fish in it due to spiciness. I will order something different next time Because I liked the place, so I will give it another go.

Too noisy...and payment, while efficient using mobile phone at your table, tries to add gratuity on top of already discretionary gratuity added to your bill...PLUS a processing fee for paying via phone. How dishonest?! Just charge one price without adding costs left right and centre! Food choice is limited and far too expensive...if you took £5 off all menu items, then you'd have 'normal' priced food...this is taking the mick!

Absolutely buzzing evening ... the outside had such nice vibes ...the food and drinks were GORGEOUS and so was the SERVICE ... LUSH 🥰🥰🥰

Mediocre food witch snobbish names and high prices. Draft beer not available. The place is noisy which can be an issue. Service is quick though a tad robotic. The place lacks personality. They is something I can put with given the pleasant location and speedy service. We left our table when we discovered there was a rubbish 12.5 % "discretionary" charge. This is a disgusting tax evasion system. Raises the prices and wages instead of exploiting your patrons kindness. Caravan still ask for a tip on top, they have no shame. We finished our meals in a place that does not ask you to pay 12.5 % more "just because". Ludicrous.

We came here to eat our lunch and had 3 small plates. The jalapeno cornbread was very unique, soft, buttery, and crumbly with pieces of corn inside it. The crisp chilli-salt tofu was cooked to perfection, crisp on the outside and very soft on the inside, and was served with a bed of fresh greens. However, the highlight of this dish was the sweet ketjap manis sauce, which was packed with flavour. The spiced cauliflower was also very nice, presented well and roasted to perfection: lightly browned whilst soft and tender on the inside. It worked well with the harissa sauce; the creamy tahini and pomegranate added a nice touch. The service was fast and the staff were very kind. Do note that the restaurant is very crowded so you may have to book in advance! Would recommend for a casual meal for anyone, incorporating a diverse selection of tasty cuisines.

We (a group of 3) arrived at 5.15pm having pre-booked for my birthday. We gave up and left at 5.40pm as none of the staff bothered to take our order (not even a drinks order). Possibly the worst customer service I've ever received.

The food is okay, but the service is terrible. We arrived on a Tuesday evening without a reservation, they said 15 minutes for a table which so far was a good start and reasonable wait. Sure enough after 15 minutes we were seated outside. Shortly after being seated we were given menus and some water. And then began the long wait for someone to take our order. We tried to flag someone down but part of the challenge is the staff do not wear uniforms, so they just blend in with everyone else. After what must have been a 30 minute wait, someone finally took our order. The food arrived quite soon so clearly no issues in the kitchen. After our meal we decided to order dessert and made sure to do that while the plates were being cleared so we didn't have to wait. Unfortunately after placing our dessert order, we waited over 40 minutes before we gave up and managed to get someone's attention to cancel it. I paid the bill using my phone by scanning the QR code on the table. Annoyingly they added a service charge, but I couldn't be bothered to have to wait anymore just to get this removed, so I paid up and we left. This was the start of a short break for us and this was such a rubbish experience to kick it off. We won't ever be coming back here.

The restaurant has a great atmosphere: music is good and not too loud for a good chat. Our table was served by a wonderful and friendly chap Daniel (and really cool shoes he was wearing!). Food is equally outstanding; the variety from the menu, the display, the quality, they are all superb. Would recommend highly this place and definitely we will come back again.

The food is good, but the service is terrible. We waited ages for someone to finally take our order, and then when we ordered dessert after our meal it took over 40 minutes. We cancelled the desert and left. I've never known such poor service. We won't be back.

Went for lunch and was dissapointed with a lot of the dishes. Labneh was bland, and the chickpeas were overcooked. Cornbread was also really bland, no taste of jalapenos or chipotle. When I asked the waiter to swap the dish it felt like a bit of an imposition. They did exchange it for a grain bowl which was a bit better.

We went on a Thursday evening around 7pm - I wasn’t expecting it to be this busy! We had to sit outside unfortunately, and it took a while to get the server’s attention (to no fault of the waiter - it was just that busy). Nonetheless, I really enjoyed the Roasted chicken breast (with butterbean and fermented Calabrian chilli cassoulet).

We had a pretty flawless meal at Caravan Kings Cross. The current menu is excellent, literally loved everything we ordered. Service was also very good, I wish I knew the name of the waiter. He was awesome.

While the location is perfect and the staff is nice, the food was pretty average, my halloumi bowl was over dressed and bland as was the pizza. It was a windy day with rubbish on the patio where we were sitting with lots of staff standing around and no one doing much. Our server took ages to acknowledge us then when we asked for the bill he delivered it to the table next door, then finally brought it to us and was completely wrong. We tried to pay via the QR code on the table that said “pay here” and it didn’t work. There are too many brilliant places to eat in coal drops yard to go back.

Delightful summer evening at caravan sitting outside by the granary square fountains with some old friends. Our waiter Owen was super lovely and we especially enjoyed the corn bread and miso cod.

Party of 12 was accommodated nicely. Food was good but brought out randomly. One person had their food a good 5/8mins before everyone else which meant she delayed tucking in until more people were served. I think smaller tables would have less issues BUT that is not to undermine the service which was friendly and two errors rectified quickly. I’ll be back. Pizza was delicious!

I never thought cauliflower could taste so good! The crispy chickpeas with the labneh were absolutely stunning and the falafel I had has only made me crave falafel everyday after. Great spot, a little pricey but for good food and good portions would recommend !

We came across this place by chance and it was fabulous! Really cool place, friendly staff and great choice of breakfast menu. Each of us had a different choice and all thoroughly enjoyed the food. Even came back for drinks the next again day. Highly recommend if you have some time to kill around Kings Cross as the area is fab.

The food is quite good but came out almost cold. The portions feel quite small and feel overpriced for what you are getting especially considering the automatically added gratuity and transaction fee added when paying. There are better places in the area to eat.

Had a lovely breakfast. Great setting short walk from Kings Cross Had an unusual dish of cornbread, chorizo and a fried egg. This was delicious and a just an hint of spice. Nice combination
