Fantastic place!! Staff are friendly and helpful, to me the most important thing is that its clean, lovely pool and Sauna.. The cafe/ restaurant had a nice and friendly vibe, delicious food, quite often sit outside with a cuppa.. Highly recommended

Hate that I have to walk past drunk people to use the gym pool.

Unisex changing rooms with no private showers. You have to walk through a bar to get into the gym?! Why are they selling alcohol in a fitness center?! Awful!

Use the sports areas myself and my wife. Clean and maintained equipment, lifeguard on duty , Good gym area, too, cleaning equipment available . Access to lift for wheelchair user's with suitable showers extra. Wife tells me the water is warm , sauna and steamroll also. Unisex changing room only and lockers

Warm an friendly atmosphere everything is so laid back it makes you feel so relaxed can't wait to go again

Lovely food and great service. What was a let down for me was that we were the only ones there. Seemed silly really booking a table. But would definitely go again for the food.

Pretty mediocre food, burnt elements on most dishes sadly. Staff better than reviews make out to be. Menu online isn't the same in person and a much smaller one is actually used, and seems to be very overpriced for what you get. Not a great overall experience unfortunately, would not return

Very poor rating for this place.. staff were uninterested. They're also a cashless place and stated they ate proud of it. Very embarrassing 😳

The stars are for the friendly, helpful and apologetic barman. No chef, no heating, and probably the worst pint of Guinness I have ever had. Not worth opening in the off season in my opinion.

We went the blagdon inn on Sunday for A carvery the food was very good. My only complaint was the amount of meat I got. He was very stingy with the meat, and all I can seem to get was a few broken bits, not even one decent slice if we go back next time, I will have to say something as I felt shortchanged .

Not recommended, unfriendly, arrogant and lazy staff, food so-so,

We had received very positive information, but it had probably been exaggerated. The furnishings are far too modern for a pub and would have been more suitable for a cafe or bar. After waiting 10 minutes and ignoring the woman behind the counter, I picked up the menu. A simple, cheap A4 copy. There are no drink tickets. Every snack bar has something like that - not here. Well, ordered food. I even pointed my finger at what I wanted. When I wanted to pay I was told to pay over €20 for ham, eggs and fries and a cup of tea, even though my meal was under €10. The waitress slept and brought me a similar meal, where I was surprised that there was only a fried egg, but a fried mushroom (black edge) and half a cooked onion. After some drama, the food I ordered was charged. One of us had ordered bread with the salad, but it only arrived when the salad was almost eaten. The staff were very arrogant since I've been in England, the rudest British women I've encountered. The two stars are only for the food, everything would have to be deducted for the service. Conclusion: we won't go here anymore and won't recommend it either. Completely failed

This has been a ok pub but one girl on the ban can't pull a pint og guineas she pulled a pint walks away took me over 10 minutes get a drink poor service

Had a lovely meal meal with family. Was out if prime time but service was excellent. Bar staff very attentive. Looking forward to going back soon.

This place is a must visit, must enjoy, you deserve it! We went on steak night, which was great, but the special specials board won the wow factor! The seafood linguine was truly proper high quality same day local seafood made by quality chefs. Classy and super delicious. Perfect! 10 stars!

Would really benefit from some music and the wine list to include prosecco, other than that decent steak, pizzas are lovely and service was good.

Nice place, the evening we went they finished food early as short staffed but the second night was great, food lovely, good portions, snooker table, outside seating.

Went on a steak night. Great value on 2 meals. Limited kids menu compared to sister site Finlake.. sadly although main first of school holidays very quiet . No music so lacked any atmosphere. Have to say food was nicer than expected .

Just had 2 small breakfasts they were horrible sent one back as both cold it was returned with same toast and no butter but after complaining to young lady was told not to pay So thanks to her and better luck next time chef

Nice dog friendly pub we had 2 meals in their as we travelled out could do with a jukebox or entertainment other than that nice place with outdoor tables

We were staying just up the road, and decided to walk down (using the route through the holiday park, as there's limited space for pedestrians on the main road) What a find, the food was delicious, and the waitress/bar staff did a great job accommodating us. It was a weekday, outside of summer holidays, and the holiday park isn't massive, so the atmosphere wasn't 100%, but then sometimes it's nice to be in a quiet pub for dinner. With 3 pairs enjoying the 2 for £20 steak night, the food and drink was very reasonably priced. The only thing that let the pub down, their industrious owners (Haulfryn Holiday Group) insistence on cash-free: I dont mind paying by card, but when the card machine wouldn't accept Visa's (we tried 5, from different banks, both contactless and the old chip and pin) it was a bit of a struggle to pay for our food! (Thankfully one of us had a Mastercard but now we'll have to interchange our account details to sort it ourselves). Overall we had a great evening, so many thanks to the staff!

Bad food and bad service. We ordered two sweet potato and feta lasagnas, a burger and a pizza. The lasagnas and burger took over an hour to arrive and were nothing special. In fact, there wasn't even any sweet potato in the lasagnas. The pizza took over an hour and a half to arrive and when it finally arrived (after we chased multiple times) it was just a reheated frozen pizza! Would not recommend.

Waited an hour and half for a simple cheese pizza. Multiple times I was told 'just a few more minutes' and was then asked to repeat my order! Was offered a glass of water while I waited. Abysmal. Won't be returning

Pub was understaffed and we had to wait along time for service at bar. Food did not get brought out when ready and when we had our food served it was cold. We needed to send this back and ask for new to be cooked. Food was delicious when we recieved hot food.

Food £15 for a meal that was 6 inches round in middle of a big plate. Lamb was so chewy. Portion size was hideous. Dont mind paying that money if it fills you up. We were starving, so had to have a pudding, luckily that was bigger than our mains. Only 2 tables occupied at 7.30pm. What does that tell you. Would not return again and would not recommend this place.

Lovely fresh modern look and feel to the place. Nice comfortable seating inside. Great home cooked food with even better service 👏😋 Made a lovely family get together perfect.

Food, what there was on the plate was OK, but disappointed with portion size, pay extra for peas and other vegetables, the lamb was chewey, Had to have a sweet as was still hungry, menu prices way too high for the quality of food, service was slow and absolutely no atmosphere, would not recommend this restaurant. I think they need to reevaluate their menu and prices for quality and quantity. As a footnote a tiny bit of food in the middle of a large plate is not a meal. 2 star

I hired the function room at the Blagdon Inn for my daughters 30th on Saturday 20th May. I want to thank ALL the staff that worked on the night. Helpful, going over and above for us. Lovely and friendly. Highly recommend this place for any function. 5* rating from all guests that attended. Thank you guys you’re all legends 😘

Very good lunch and friendly staff. Good dog-friendly - offered our two a bowl of water. Part of a holiday park complex but open to general users. There may be a 15th century but but extensively modernised and well kept.

Outstanding value for money gorgeous food at pub prices staff friendly & attentive always visit when staying at Devon Hills & was always nice but so impressed after last night's visit cannot recommend enough

We had a party of 11 for Christmas day lunch. Everything was very organised from the moment we got there. All our food was delicious, plenty of, hot & delicious. Staff were efficient & worked well. All choices were confirmed & paid for in advance which was well organised & efficient. A VERY WELL DONE TO YOU ALL. YOU MADE OUR CHRISTMAS AFTER A VERY HARD YEAR. We are rebooting for Christmas 2023

Nice friendly pub . We went quite late so Stanley had already eaten . Husband says his fish and chips was lovely , same for my Halloumi . Nice wine too .

Just had a lovely Sunday roast here, excellent value for money

This restaurant on the site of our lodge for our holiday, has really gotten better since we last came. They have always had friendly staff but now the food seems even better, and the atmosphere is lovely. Better tables and chairs show it's being cared for. It was lovely to be able sit down and feel relaxed. Food was great when we went. We did the Tuesday Steak night and had two steaks for £20 and added the peppercorn sauce. We asked for one medium and one medium rare and got exactly what we wanted. The garlic and herb chips tasted incredible and we couldn't complain about any of it.

It was a beautiful old pub they had stripped the life out of trying to make it horrible

Somewhere if you want a good.meal for a good price. This place is good and we was really surprised. The staff were amazing and could not fuss out dog enough and gave her water and treats, the food was good and just what we needed late at night. This is a real hidden gem and we would recommend this for a cheap and cheerful meal

Blagdon Inn hosted our party of 7 for a last minute lunch due to a delayed check-in at our holiday home (unrelated to the Inn). The staff, especially Lucy, were incredibly polite and generous with their time and attention, able to accommodate our quite specific dietary requirements and the food was great. The environment was also very lovely, we were lucky to have a sunny day and be able to enjoy the outdoor seating area as well as entertain our youngest in the play area. Thank you all at the Inn for a great experience and start to our holiday.

Brilliant staff and great food.

Visited on Friday evening for my birthday. Food was lovely I had Mussels to start and a Caesar Salad for main, my fiancé' had the Steak. The food was very well put together with a lovely balance of flavours. The price was reasonable and it was nice to see the executive chef greeting guests and obviously taking real pride in his work. The bar tender Lucy was also very friendly and gave us a water bowl and treats for our dog too.

Very welcoming staff and a very competitively priced Sunday lunch which arrived very quickly.

Two meals for £20 and good size portions. Very polite and welcoming staff and speedy service.

Went for lunch this week. Food was good. Service not so much. Ordered food with a side. Food came out. Had to wait 15 mins for my side. Charged me for a pint I didn't have.

Before I start staff we’re helpful but very stressed on a quiet night . Food took over an hour to come due to no staff . Responsibility should be taken by senior management not the staff that are probably on minimum wage which I repeat did a great job apologising to customers all night . Our food came which was either dripping in oil or burnt which took over an hour to arrive. Nice place to have a drink but I would not want to spend my money on food their

Went last night limited menu to being all you can eat curry night. After waitress was good enough to let me taste (im a vindaloo man) decided the beef madras would just about satisfy my spice buds and was told it was from when we went in (about 6) until 9 pm. I only had one portion at start and returned to servery about 7pm to find no madras i enquired several times to be informed more madras would be about 5 mins i was finally informed no more madras. Feel ripped off for £15. Waitress shouldve informed me once each item has gone it is not replenished as how early it is. Complete rip off will never return

Food was very poor and thay don't take cash .

Went with their burger and chips. Decidedly average along the lines of a nice wetherspoons burger and chips. But a little over priced. Not sure about the basil on the chips, its doesn't really add much. Burger on the small side but decently cooked. Kids went with a pizza and garlic bread, quality was decent enough but pricing is a little high. Well after a long journey we went with speed and ease and due to the location you pay for this factor. We'll explore outside the park once we've rested and recovered

One star because I couldn't give no stars Lots not available on the limited menu then over an hour later after ordering we were told it would be shorter half an hour. A disaster of a place. We were told they had no staff but we're still taking orders etc Avoid...

Just finished my holiday, and went to the blagdon lots for our tea and it was brill service and brill food.

Nice areas to sit in and enjoy the sun pub itself nice and old and qwerky, good range of beers ciders spirits available, food about a 7 for taste against cost

Not great, 13 of us ate some items we had to remind them we'd ordered, I had fish and chips which was rubbish, fish over cooked and very thin. Food served on some sort of paper on the plate which started to disentagrate as you were eating.

Really disappointed, drove a far way to go to this place, we booked for a meal and made a reservation. We turned up on time and sent us away along with many other guests, saying there was no food left and no staff, when asked to speak to a manager they were "too busy" they could of have the curtesy to ring up beforehand instead of us having to drive to them first. It is now too last minute to book somewhere else for a table.

I had the chicken and my god this was so good. My partner had a burger, another had the ham and eggs and one had the chicken 🍔 burger. All were extremely well executed and tasted amazing. Definitely recommend. Great staff and dog friendly

Food was absolutely lovely Could be more choice on the menu. The takeaway menu is better. We had to ask to order food because the waitress either forgot about us or just didn't want to serve us. This was 6pm so it wasn't busy. Inside the restaurant is beautifully decorated very homely.

You definitely get what you pay for, the group tried a variety of different foods all of which were incredible. Staff were efficient and really helpful. You didn’t have to wait long for drinks or food and it is a dog friendly pub.

Worst roast, meat was dry, Yorkshire pudding like a rock, vegetables dry and over done in the microwave, potatoes rock solid and worst of all everything was cold. The very nice waitress asked if all was okay and when we politely pointed out the faults she said she would tell the chef. The waitress returned to tell us that chef had said we don't have to pay for our meals but we have to leave immediately!! Feeling put to shame we told her we would pay (we were not out for a freebie). We paid for the rubbish served and left and will not be going back. Terrible food and made to feel very uncomfortable for answering a question they asked "is everything okay". No wonder the place was empty with customer service like this.

Not bad at all. Prices were pretty reasonable, it's dog & kid-friendly (with a couple of decent playparks nearby) which makes for a convivial atmosphere. Decor pleasant. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. ... I asked for my my steak blue but it came rare, which was a slight shame, but blue steaks are increasingly harder to come by in the UK, so can't grumble too much.

New menu was a great improvement and service was very good.

We came here at the end of November for 4 roast dinners and a childrens meal. The roasts were amazing one of the best roast dinners we’ve all had. And plenty of it. Childrens Mac and cheese was tasty but daughter didn’t like the herbs in it. The staff were lovely and very helpful as we had a double buggy so put us some where I could have that near as baby asleep. The decor is beautiful and I really want their chairs as they are sooooo comfy!!

Attended a funeral wake there...they advised they were a chef down.....but even so they took good care of us and the food was delightful

Menu was very limited when we visited.

Im afraid i was disapointed .. there was no choice other than roast meats or nutroast..the cauliflower cheese was nice but the other veg , broccoli , carrots and cabbage were under cooked .. so i didnt really enjoy it .

Delicious meals eat in or take away,, advise to book a table,, nice drinks, beer garden, clean relaxed surroundings also well behaved dogs on short lead allowed 🐾🐾

I just needed to review my experience here this lunchtime because of the exemplary service from Lucy. Having arrived some minutes before opening Lucy was busy tidying and making ready the bar area. However although it wasn’t quite opening time, Lucy took an order from another family and myself. It was really clear that she was a kind, hardworking and conscientious member of staff whom clearly went above and beyond her duties at that particular time. What an asset to this Company. I might add that as I walked to my table I was quite disappointed to overhear her manager berate her for taking the coffee drinks order before open time, rather than praise her for excellent customer service care. Thank you Lucy.
