Had Sunday lunch. One pork one nut roast. Good portion sizes great prices we really enjoyed will definitely be back. Highly recommended

December 22. The Smiths has a new landlady, menu and energy. I ate with family, all the food was excellent and the wait was short. I notice the pub is gaining popularity! Maybe best to book a table if you want to eat? Beer choice is great also. Big carpark, clean toilets, great beer garden when weather allows. Becoming a personal favourite pub.

Disgusted. I booked a table for lunch last week for myself and 5 work colleagues. The day before our lunch i found out by chatting to someone that their kitchen is closed for lunches all week. I rang and spoke to a member of staff that said the "manager" had been given a list of the numbers for people to ring to cancel their bookings. I have not received any calls. This pub is being run down by appalling management skills as is the Boverton Castle.

Lovely pub in a nice little town. Have a good selection of beers on with a couple ales available in the selection to. Food is fantastic with a good menu, but make sure you check out the special’s board as some lovely meals pop up on the board. Nice beer garden with plenty of seating.

Stayed for food and then drinks and to watch the live music which was excellent. Lovely relaxed atmosphere,very friendly, good prices, fast service. Very appealing inside.

Absolutely delicious food!! Very generous portions, I didn't want to waste any of it but I was so full......I almost asked for a doggy bag 😂 Served by a very lovely lady. Highly recommend and will definitely be returning to try something new.

Friendly staff who went out of their way to help and get us fed. Nice atmosphere and great choice of liquids to drink. Nice little gem in the heart of the South Wales coast. Give it a try when your near.

New manageress has transformed the pub! You can expect a warm welcome (including a log fire!) and very friendly bar staff!! Plenty of outdoor seating ready for Spring and good pub grub to boot!

We went for Sunday lunch. It was fabulous. The Blacksmiths is a lovely pub, with an airy bar leading into a beautiful restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was great, and there was plenty of it. I'll definitely be going there again.

Food always excellent in the blacksmiths. Staff friendly & lovely atmosphere. Dog friendly in the bar area. Outside seating area.

I understand it has recently changed hands.The log fire was burning. The starters are usually OK for a snack lunch. My friend enjoyed her soup. The crab fishcakes were unavailable and the pate was from a packet(previously home made) so I had garlic mushrooms which were OK. Coffee machine was broken so only instant available. One person managing tables as well as the bar.

Called in with friends for lunch on Saturday 5th Nov. Had a great experience food lovely. Young lad who served us very good. Will recommend and be back.

A lovely traditional inn. The staff were welcoming and attentive and the food was exceptional! I would most definitely recommend it to anyone.

I love going here for my favourite Guinness and black, they have a fab sunny area to sit, I've not eatten here yet but plan to, the food always looks delicious when coming out for others. Yes I would defo re to family and friends.

Called today. Sat 4th June. Had the bbq chicken burger. Was great. My wife had the steak pannini. Was lovely . The pie was delicious. Great service and lovely pub. Will be back. Thanks guys.

Lovely location - we chose to walk from Llantwit across fields. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. The burgers are excellent - I had a vegan one called the 'Garden Gourmet Burger' which I very much enjoyed. Others with me had normal meat burgers which looked great and they enjoyed those very much too. Some of the best chips we'd had in quite a while. We sat outside which was an easy and dog-friendly experience. Definitely recommend - particularly if you like an excellent burger with lots of options.

Sell drink, like doggers. Not that kind of doggers, I mean the 4 legged kind.

Great service, lady behind bar/ front of house was on her own and was outstanding, the restaurant was quite busy and she really worked hard, to keep everything and everyone happy. food was good to.

Good food and a nice atmosphere make this a great stop off for a pub lunch or evening meal. Staff are polite and helpful and menu had plenty of choice.

Service was good i.e. the staff members were friendly, good food. Unfortunately we didn't get our 5th course i.e. coffee and mince pies and we were told that the bar was closed at 16 00 hours. Had we known this in advance then we wouldn't have booked our Christmas Dinner there. Sorry but very disappointed. Otherwise a nice pub.

Nice cosy pub, it's a in locals pub, quiz and darts nights at rather than for a booze up

We've been a few times before and always had a good meal previously. This is a friendly village pub with a good choice of beers. However, on this visit we had Sunday lunch (Turkey) for the first time and it was a real disappointment. The roast potatoes were white and 'soggy' and the Yorkshire pudding small and the tiny stuffing overcooked . Overall the meal was acceptable, but we won't be going back for Sunday Lunch

Quiet weekday evening food, lovely atmosphere and (rare) cleared plates from all in our party!

Seems like a nice pub. The starter was somewhat slow to come out, with the mains immediately after, with no gap. Starter wasn't as per the menu, I did comment to the waiter, but didn't get any feedback. Not bad food, but I think mostly good quality preprepared sous vide. Wouldn't really go back.

Food is amazing-huge portions( especially the desserts!) & a vast menu choice...proper pub grub(all made to order)& cooked to perfection. Clean & tidy, roomy and the staff are lovely. Will return time & time again.

A great place, although we only had a drink in the garden, the premises itself is lovely and the staff extremely welcoming. Will certainly return for meal as the menu looked good and there were vegetarian/vegan options.

Nice food, nice service, not too busy as Tuesday but entire menu available. We are frequently eating and having a drink here and is always one of our first options around Llantwit Major as better than local options in our opinion. We visit the pub during the week but also weekends with friends and family.
