Wasn’t even going to do a review but this place was awful me and my two mates thought they were going to do sacrificial event on us, went in there and the room went quiet and trust me it stayed that way for a solid 20mins before we decided to leave before even grabbing a pint because the bar lady refused to come out the back. No music, everyone knew each other because it’s in the village after all this as we left the dog barked us out and the man proceeded to say “bite em Henry”. Scariest night of my life

Decided to pop in early in the week. It has had a significant upgrade since days of old and was a very pleasurable experience. Managed to find a nice spot in front of the fire and made a new friend! Some great beers on tap and staff were friendly. Pool table situated in a nice separate snug area. Will definilty visit on a weekend to test out properly! Thanks!

handy for gatwick. about 5 min drive to Clophill park and ride. first room given stunk of marina but was able to change to a room where I wasn't going to get high in my sleep. cleaning staff should have aired the room to remove the stink.

Plaistow StreetStopped here for a ‘halfway’ meet up and we all had a fantastic burger with the best fries - nice old pub, clean, friendly and dog friendly too.

Albeit just me, my fiancé and uncle (in law) are the ones who decide on said award criteria. It is beautiful and richly flavoured. I eat it but twice a year as I am not local but what a treat to save my calories for. The steak is tender, the pastry soft and the lid delicately flakey. Tonight we were served by Emily, who went above and beyond her role as waitress and made us feel very welcome and special. The caramel sundae is the perfect pudding to complete the decadent feast. If you do not come here, you have not lived. Do not overlook this restaurant as just a ‘premier inn restaurant’… it is the creme de La creme of eateries. Stay for breakfast and another buffet awaits, pancakes for breakfast! My inner child rejoices. Such a variety and an exciting treat! Goodbye diet, hello treats. Cake for breakfast is one of the little joys we get at hotel stays… and this place does it well. Thank you to all the staff, especially Emily, for making our visit as memorable as ever. We have come hear annually for a few years now, predating the pandemic, and my late dad loved visiting here too (he died of covid in his 50’s). Family memories have been made here and the ambiance always holds a dear comfort to myself and my family. We love you star inn, thank you from the bottom of our hearts 💕 ♥️ 💕
