Star Inn in Tandridge

Went for a meal and a couple of drinks,the staff were friendly and the food was just what we needed.

Had a nice Sunday lunch here last year after completing the disused railway walk from Three Bridges to East Grinstead. The slow-cooked beef on the bone was delicious and the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

The food was fantastic—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly comforting. A truly memorable dining experience!

Really friendly and efficient staff. Couldn't do enough for us. Venison Burger special was pretty darn good too.

Popped in for lunch with the other half and we tried the new specials. The venison burger was amazing, so was the toad in the hole. Great service by Lily. We will be back.

Lovely pies, big portions and very tasty. The pie's filling was a little on the small side and I wish there was more gravy, but it was good. Only suggestions are: change your mayonnaise and your tea bags! Both were very bland

Took ages to be served, ages to get the food....an hour and a half for just main course order to be taken and arrive. Once it arrived it was good. We would have stayed for sweet but the wait would have been just too painful. Staff were pleasant tho'.

Cooked, microwaved breakfast was vile.

I’ve eaten at this venue multiple times and have never been disappointed with the lovely range of food and the fantastic service. Even offer great vegetarian options.

Went for a family birthday lunch, the place was not very busy but the staff were not particularly interested or friendly. One meal was incorrect and one the chips were cold. The portions were small and quite honestly the floor under the tables was filthy and we were there just after 1pm. Will not go back and would not recommend.

Mains dinner very small for the price. When asked for sauce, this never arrived. Disappointed in the service and quantity.

We were staying at the premier inn which is next door - We had an amazing meal the steak pie was delicious mash was creamy and vegetables were amazing especially the honey carrots the BBQ chicken bacon and cheese was delicious served with triple cooked chips which really had been triple cooked very tasty. All the staff were amazing polite happy and took time to talk to us nothing was to much trouble. We had a lovely breakfast in the morning good variety and very fresh definitely 5 stars.

This place had really pulled it's socks up. Went a long way downhill, worth poor coming and an unimaginative menu. That's all changed now, great service and delicious food. The ultimate burger in particular is fantastic.

The Star is a very pleasant place with friendly staff where nothing is too much trouble. Emily our waitress was friendly and nothing was a problem if you wanted to change your choices within the menu. Would definitely come back.

I visited as part of a stay at the adjacent Premier Inn so very convenient. I had not made a reservation but it was only a short wait although the restaurant was busy so good atmosphere. The menu was typical of pub restaurant but the special dishes were great I enjoyed the smoked salmon and orange. The steak was really tasty and well cooked. Good choice of drinks

Held my uncles wake here .had the buffet for 25 people very reasonably priced and nice food.higly recommended

My friend and I attended the Chat and Brew morning just over a week ago. What a great idea and good way to meet local people over a bacon or sausage sandwich. Emily looked after us very well and nothing was too much trouble. We both said it would be good if this event could be repeated perhaps once a month to meet like minded people in the area. Coffee/Tea and biscuits is another option rather than the bacon/sausage sandwiches.

Had a wonderful meal at the Star Inn Felbridge this week, we go there usually once a month and the staff there are so friendly. We had Emily serve us this time and so helpful and informative. The atmosphere there is chilled and relaxing.

We stayed in the Premier Inn next door. Really good food.Lovely waitress gave us a nice table tucked round corner.All the staff were very helpful. Lovely evening. Will be back. Thank you 👏👏

Lovely Premier Inn breakfast. We arrived at probably the busiest time but were served in a timely fashion. Emily and Justina were coping with the amount of tables with a smile and friendly service.

My wife saw an item on social media that the star inn was hosting an event where you could meet new people over a coffee and a sandwich. Having just moved into the area we decided to attend. it was a very enjoyable couple of hours. we met and exchanged phone numbers with a couple of people and an added bonus fir a couple of pensioners was it was free. we would certainly go again if they hold another event and will definately use and recommend the star inn for lunches etc. thank you to the staff and company for arranging it.

We use this place quite a bit through the year all I can say now gone down hill quite a bit

Came with my family for an early dinner for the first time I. February. We all really enjoyed our meals and the sharing platter we had was absolutely sublime. Our waitress Sarah was brilliant and was very attentive and friendly couldn't fault her. I have returned a few times since with some friends and being so local to my new home is great. My only negative would be that the building itself needs some TLC but once inside it looks and feels totally different. So don't let the exterior put you off

Visited on Sunday of bank holiday weekend, with 2 adults and children. We had 3 roasts which were absolutely delicious. Good size and very tasty with perfectly cooked veg. Service was quick and friendly. Often disappointed with Sunday roasts but this was lovely. Thankyou, good experience!

Stayed at the Premier Inn on Sunday night and then had breakfast here on the Monday morning. A great breakfast to start the day and a welcoming staff.

Went for a few drinks, the place is nice and full of nice local people but the bartender is terrible, rude, and ignorant. Short older guy, with longer hair, getting bold on the forehead. Not a front-of-house person, he makes us feel we are not welcomed there at all!

Breakfast was terrible. Staff were lovely but the food ingredients were clearly very cheap. Hash browns not edible, mushrooms were not fresh and even bread was stale. There evening food looked ok so just assuming the breakfast is a cheap free one for guests at premier inn.

Good food, forgot a desert but hey no one's perfect and brought it asap when asked. Service is good friendly staff, much better than it used to be.

Had a Buffet for 20 people here and the food was excellent and abundant. The staff were great and the occasion went very well

The service was very good considering Emily the waitress was single-handedly taking orders, running backwards & forwards to the kitchen, waiting on 9 tables with a minimum of 3 people per table, manning the bar and sorting out the bills. Emily remained smiling despite having virtually no help or assistance from the other lady whom I presume was the manager and who unashamedly appeared just a couple of time with dessert or tray of drinks. Well Done Emily, you are the star of the Star.

Genuinely the best pub food I have ever had. Lots of flavour, very filling and reasonable prices. No noise from the road nearby and a great interior. Would definitely recommend for sunday lunch or a few drinks with friends.

Monday nights we go to Star Inn and have their delicious Buddha Bowls, which are packed with salads/veggies and topping of your choice. Possibly the biggest & best Buddha bowl we’ve found thus far. Pub has a nice authentic atmosphere & staff are friendly. Would recommend.

Lovely restaurant/pub, which I revisited after a number of years absence. They have a great menu and at a table of 5 we all had a fab meal. Sharing platter, crab and avocado for starters. All food was delicious. Staff extremely good and friendly. Will return.

Had a Christmas dinner with my sister second year running, all good

Been here a few times for business lunches, decent food and good choices on menu and not expensive.

Second visit in two weeks. Table pre-booked on both occasions. First time well over an hour before receiving starter. Was told there was a table of 30 before us also prebooked. A bit of communication would not go amiss if they were aware we would suffer a delay, we could have arrived an hour later. Second visit were were told before going to our table that they were busy and there may be a delay in us getting g our food. We waited 45 minutes this time before the barman brought over our starters. We struggled to get anyone’s attention to top up our drinks throughout our time there. A missed opportunity to keep us occupied and spend a bit more money. When we finally got our mains they were barely warm, buy then we were so hungry we ate what we could before it was stone cold. Again we tried to gain there attention but gave up. They then asked for desert and coffee orders but by then we declined. Explained our grievances tote manager. Paid the bill in full but with no tip and decided not return. Which is great shame and such a missed opportunity for the Star Inn Felbridge, as between our two visits we provided them with 11 covers. The food was actually very good shame about the communication service and poor temperature of the food

Ordered a mixed grill asked for rare the steak was super well (not) well done and to top it off the rest of the meat was over cooked to burnt especially the sausage which was so burnt it had a thick black crust around it which I didn’t attempt to even taste. No one ask during the meal or after if the food was acceptable

A country pub that does fab and very reasonably priced lunches and dinners. I had one of their specials of the day... Wild mixed grill with boar sausage, venison steak and duck. Not great for my waist line, but oh so tasty. I regret nothing!

Fab food. We were catching a flight and so couldn't stay for anything more than a mains. Staff were so efficient and friendly. Highly recommend.

Below average food, gloopy potato & soggy pastry both on chicken pie & apple pie. Fresh food shouldn’t be that quick coming out of the kitchen. Also not much of an atmosphere as so quiet. Shame as an ideal location and could be great !

Jamie went above and beyond to provide superb service. Genuinely one of the best dining experiences in terms of his service and the waitress (apologies didn’t get her name). I asked for a Yorkshire pud with my pie meal and as I was asking, realised it’s not Sunday so there weren’t any. Jamie got the kitchen to make me one specially! Also Jamie actually sat down with us at the end and ran through the Tesco vouchers that my 80 year old parents had. He was really gentle with them. Thank you Jamie for a great lunch with my family.

Always has a good ale on tap, so far, the food has been great and the service has been excellent. They also give discounts for CAMRA members on drinks and Blue Light card holders on food.

It was quiet when we went last but the house burger with gravy was amazing. Fast and friendly service.

If i could give it 10 out of 10 i would Travelled down from yorkshire to see my special friend who is 96 and lives in local nursing home , I had promised her fish and chips but it was a Sunday and the fish and chip shop was shut. Having explained my situation they provided me with a takeaway making me and my friend very happy. Thank you yo chef Georgei and all the staff for your kindness. Also had a lovely meal on the Saturday evening and great beer garden.

We read the reviews from + 8 years with complaints which are clearly not representative of the food and service today. A fantastic place, highly recommended and the best sticky toffee pud I have had in years. Returned several times during our stay in the area and the quality standard was consistent throughout.

Popped in for lunchtime sandwich but only serve ciabattia so choose fishfinger, was OK, more batter than fish for my liking, with chips and salad, cost £8.49. Nice looking restaurant and garden area. Right on a junction so bit noisy outside. Warm welcome from friendly staff.

We’d been doing work on our kitchen and rather than struggle to make lunch we’d thought let’s pop out and so glad we did as this is a hidden gem. The food was fantastic, reasonably priced, desserts great and the service was really good.

The food and drinks are good, the surroundings are basic but OK, but the service is their problem. I've been here three or four times and it's always the same. Customers seem to be an inconvenience to them and they always seem to have other things to do. I think they survive because it's the only pub in the area. Everywhere else is a drive away. It could be 5 star if only they'd sort out customer attention.

Stayed nearby for work and visited here for 3 nights to eat. Great food choices and good selection of drinks. Belle and other staff members were very friendly and made our evenings perfect.

Nice, clean pub with friendly staff. The food was tasty enough but the main course didn't fill me up. I had the Atlantic Cod and the fish portion was smaller than I was expecting.
