The Blacksmiths Arms 1010 Restaurant in Horsham

The food was excellent and freshly cooked, and the homemade pasta was especially good. Unfortunately, because of it being Mothering Sunday, it was very, very busy, which affected the service. Understanding that the food was being freshly cooked and they were busy, so expected a delay, but basics like clearing tables and bringing drinks orders were disappointing slow. The staff were all busy running around, so hats off to them, but there didn't seem to be anyone overseeing operations, so things were being missed. Shame because I expect on a "normal" day, everything would have been great, and I certainly will be visiting again soon. 😀

SO disappointed. Booked for Mother’s Day, turned up and but table was not for the number I booked for (over a month ago) so we’re sat near a disabled toilet door that people kept leaving open. From finally being sat it took hour and a half to get starters. One order missed initially and then plates trying to be taken early to move us on. No wine list given and just told there was Sauvignon or Pinot - what did we want. Food was not as reviews led us to expect and one child currently being sick after meat pizza. No sweets offered and coffee I got up to request took 30mins! Then to top it off wrong bill given and asked to pay rest abruptly as if it was my fault! When I asked if a discount given based on all of above was told no. When asked to speak to manager was told he’s in kitchen and can’t speak. I should have requested the service charge of 12.5% be removed (as it was not proper service as I had to get up to close toilet doors, pour wine for guests and go to find staff regularly for anything - often to not get it when asked) And the man at the till told me it was Mother’s Day and I should expect it! I would advise everyone stay away from staff who don’t care and good that is poor,

Had quite a few takeaway deliveries from here in the last month and the food has been fantastic. The calzone is delicious and the burgers are brilliant. I've tried loads of burgers around the area in other restaurants and pubs and I'd say these are the best I've had. I've been in the restaurant before and it's lovely in there. Great service, great food.

What a turn around. After a previous bad experience I was a little worried but it was a long time ago The food was exceptional lovley service It is expensive but you get what you pay for

Cosy little pub with Firebird ale, they've stopped their own lager, which was lovely. Lots of people waiting for pizzas. Didn't eat on this occasion, but it was brilliant the last time.

I go here quite a bit for a nice easy option. The food is nice, if they have what you would like to order. The service is great when you get the owners or the family members but the training is lacking on the younger people they have working. I like the sofa area for an evening drink.

As with most pubs in Guildford, the ceiling is very low, so if you're over 5'8", be prepared to stoop a little to get to your table. The food was lush, and the service was spot on, not over bearing with constant check ups. They know their food is good, so no need to make sure all the time, just serve and let you eat.

We had the Sunday roast, it was thoroughly enjoyable.

Nice place stopped to have a beer with a friend but did not eat their shame as it looked like it may of been very good. The beer was nice though would return to eat another time.

Came here for lunch. Had a burger, which I didn't finish, and was bloated for the rest of the day. Meat did not taste right.

Probably the best dinner (out of the dozen or so) on our UK trip. Delightful location, excellent food and top notch service. Absolutely nothing I could nitpick (and I'm good at nitpicking...) If I could pick this place up and move it to Colorado I would.

I recently had my wedding reception at the 10/10. 24th of August 2024. It was a brilliant occasion. We had the dining room which was set out beautifully and really looked fantastic. The food was top notch, 37 guests all had 3 splendid courses including 8 x Tomahawk steaks! (which I'm sorry to say we didn't finish). Special mention to Laurie, the head waiter who is a gent and a total pro on the day and always! I would recommend to anyone wanting a place to host they're special day.

Hubby Rob and friend were in the area to see the football match at Brighton last night. The lovely lady on Reception at the Travelodge in Billingshurst recommended The Blacksmiths Arms and they were so glad she did. Rob said it was one of the best meals he'd had in a long time and what a shame it was so far from Shrewsbury as he'd have liked to have taken me there! He highly recommends it.

A lovely Sunday lunch with family. Great food. Attentive staff. Doing a roaring trade. Long may it last.

Food was ok but we were put in a function room which was noisy and cold. Mentioned to staff but just met with a shake of the head. Too busy for them to handle I think. Several thumbs in food on serving.

The food here is just incredible and we are always made to feel extremely welcome, there's a real family feel to it. Love it and can't recommend enough

I was sent here by my work for dinner while on a course 6 times. Food was amazing every single time and brought to the table quickly. The staff were really friendly and the bar reasonably priced (I didn't see the prices for food). Decently sized beer garden in a lovely setting. Decently sized car park.

Food I'm leaving a 4*, my partners roast potatoes were not hot, and the fabulous large Yorkshire went cold very quickly, service couldn't fault, though a little slow on getting our drinks, good value ££

This is certainly not a run of the mill Italian restaurant. It is a real gem. I went for dinner with my wife on a busy Saturday evening. The food was fantastic, there were no corners cut in the ingredients used and the portions were not small. The owners clearly take pride in serving authentic Italian dishes. The staff were also attentive and well trained. It was a real pleasure to dine here and we will be back very soon.

My first visit to Blacksmiths Arms, having been recommended to me. Not disappointed! Greeted by Jay, an absolute entertainment package! Friendly, welcoming, attentive without smothering us. Menu varied & just what we were hoping for. Food arrived. Sumptuous! Think we were the first to arrive & the last to leave. A fab afternoon. Will be returning repeatedly!

Lovely place to eat and drink with a high quality of service all round

We were all very happy with our food (roast beef, pasta, pizza) and that is quite a feat. It was reasonably priced and the service was good: warm, friendly and attentive. I would definitely eat here again.

It was a lovely time spent in a pleasant atmosphere. What makes this a nice place is the team that works here , we had an amazing guy serve our table, and everyone we came across acknowledged us . I really enjoyed the choice of formal dining or sitting in a more casual setting. I will go back again.

Food was excellent but service was very slow. The restaurant was busy but still disappointed that it took such a long time just to even order drinks. The food when it arrived was outstanding though.

All the food was excellent but the day's special was not described clearly and there was no written description. Consequently it was much too large for all but the hungry and young which was a shame. For Italian food I would certainly recommend this pub.

Popped in here on the off chance with my husband for some lunch it was absolutely disgusting my husband had the seaford risotto which he could hardly eat due to the shells of the mussels and the prawn overcooked and rubbery as was the squid I had pear and spinach in tortellini (sort of thing)with rocket, it was over cooked and tasted awful shop bought and not authentic The server was very nice Very pleasant. It's a real shame because the place looked lovely Won't be back and definitely don't recommend

nice restaurant where the food is good. However, be careful of possible scams: the boss offered us a seabass for two and served us a gray mullet (4 or 5 times cheaper at the market). At our remarks, he seemed to no longer understand our English. We have been invoiced to seabass for £65. So if you shake his hand, count your fingers carefully

Maybe caught them on a bad day but food was oversalted (I like salt but not as the only flavour!) outside of which there's was nothing else to taste which is kind of worrying in a fish dish!

The food was really good. The Sunday roast dinner (Lamb) was tender and delicious as well as the homemade burger - super tasty! The kids penne bolognaise was also great. The Snowball dessert with nutella (like mini donuts) was a lovely end to the meal 😊

Such lovely staff, made to feel really welcome and as if you’re the only people there. Food was great and accommodated us really well. It was my Sisters birthday too and they gave her a special surprise!

We went last night (Boxing day) and had a wonderful meal and we were really well looked after. Great pub as well as the restaurant. Really very glad we chose this place and that they were open and a great welcome, brilliant food and amazing service and staff. I heartily recommend.

VERY limited options for vegetarians - one pasta dish, one risotto. The pasta dish was very nice, but I could have comfortably eaten half as much again - why does it always seem to be the assumption that veggies don't eat as much as "normal" people?

I challenge you to find a better more authentic Italian dining experience in West Sussex. The food is consistantly brilliant and delicious, freshly cooked, stylishly presented and un-fussy yet fine dining standard. We've been going for years and some of the staff faces may have changed but the quality of service abounds. Superb! The Italian restaurant works well in concert with the traditional English pub; making the perfect atmosphere!

After a long afternoon of driving, my friends and I stopped in for some lunch. The service was fantastic and the food was served in a timely fashion. Two of us had the carbonara and one the pizza - the food was fresh, hot and had that lovely homemade taste. We would Reccomend!

We thoroughly enjoyed our Birthday dinner at the 1010 restaurant. As we had a very early booking there were a few noisy kids when we arrived but they soon left and then we had a peaceful experience. The food was lovely and super staff served us.

Went a lunchtime on spec, the food was of a very good quality and the service was excellent. Lacked slightly in atmosphere, but the weather had been poor that week, which I suspect had put people off If you are in the area, it is certainly worth a visit, and we shall return. The sharing board of bread, cheese, and meats to start is not to be missed Be warned that the portions are large, but that's not too much of a problem, is it?

Such a friendly restaurant, always greeted with a smile. Great for a family Sunday lunch, and the pizza's are on another level. Especially the calzone! Go there with an appetite.

Took a large group (40+) to the restaurant last night. The service was excellent along with the food. I enjoyed the fillet steak which was cooked to perfection, and some of our party had the specials which were utterly amazing. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys good quality Italian food.

We had a wonderful meal here with a warm, friendly welcome, delicious and delightful Italian dishes, in the ambience of a wood-beamed English inn. The highlight were the exquisite handmade pasta, and a fantastic pistachio cake (with which I strongly recommend the option of chocolate ice cream alongside). Many thanks to the owner and staff for a relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Great pub. I booked for myself and 20 others and they were really accommodating. Only lets you book 15 online but I gave them a call and they happily changed it. Really friendly staff and a great clean atmosphere. The food was tasty and I'd really recommend the pizza. It's massive and decently priced. Highly recommended if you're in the area.

When after reading the reviews , Was just two of us. Anaversery night Shame did not live upto the reviews Table by the counter in and out , Lovely server but let down buy wait time,and the food was so much salt in .was ment to be grilled more like burnt and killed i dont know why i did not send it back . I did not feel any italian feel (shame ) Will i go back no 🙈 Shame for the price food could be a lot better And maybe a view lights candles for a better ora ,,,,

We stopped off here today on route to a weekend at the coast and was warmly welcomed with no reservation and had the most delicious meal, service was amazing and the atmosphere a warm family environment where everyone was welcome , We will most definitely return . The knyou to all the staff ! X

Absolutely delicious authentic food, accompanied by attentive and timely service. Adversane is quite far from us but we will be back very soon!

Tuesday special. Pappardelle with beef steak and mushrooms. £££20 a piece. Apart from the salty mushrooms, the dish is a comfort meal. Cannoli was a massive disaster. The pastry shell was not crispy. Filling was not sweet. It felt some things were off, out of date, not fresh. Cough out the first Cannoli and leave the rest. Main meal okay, desert disappointed. 12.5% service charges. £65 for two. For what you were eating, it is on the expensive side.

Great Italian restaurant /pub. Plentiful dishes, expertly prepared at very reasonable prices. Tomohawk steak represents excellent value for money and all dishes for a party of 14 served at the same time. Very attentive and family friendly service. Price per head includes a number of drinks including 5 bottles of wine. 9/10 would recommend.

We chose to dine in. Customer service and atmosphere were very good. My chicken pasta dish was tasty, however, the portion size was too small. The Rum Baba was just ok, but overpriced for what you get. My wife did not enjoy her Sunday Roast. The chicken and gravy tasted bland and there were hardly any potatoes. Her tiramisu was also, just ok. Since there are very few places around us that offer delivery, we may give this place one more chance.

Really nice vibe. Great selection of drinks. Food is really tasty. Only thing I would change is to have a bit more room for people wanting just drinks. However that being said I really like the little snug with the arm chairs.

Second visit today. Went last year. Stunning food. Well presented. Great atmosphere. Hard working staff.

Amazing food and service thank you

Found this place by accident while staying nearby, and it was SO good. I didn’t realise it was an Italian restaurant at first. We were so hungry and the portions were huge. The service was lovely, the food was quick and hot and just wow! I couldn’t fault anything at all! A real 10/10

We were recommended but the charming (mainly Italian) service and food (authentically Italian of high quality) were all just fab!
