Went there with friends recently, but wasn’t impressed by the bad attitude of the woman who’s apparently the manageress/landlady. She was very rude and there seemed to be a lot of people coming and going from the door that goes upstairs. All seemed a bit shifty to me, so won’t be going again due to the bad service.

Fantastic pub. Great prices. Great costumer service. Highly recommend. Have different events on all the time. LGBT friendly. Family friendly. Pet friendly. Just a all round good pub 🙂

Would definitely recommend this pub the staff are very welcoming and polite we always pop in for a drink there is no judgement and no atmosphere it's just a lovely place to have a few drinks and listen to music they also have a karaoke night and that's fantastic fun doesn't matter if you can't sing it's all about being involved it's great fun 🙂❤️

This pub advertises itself as a place to watch sport so I went with friends to watch the semi finals of the Euro Football. As far as I could see all was good natured and the audience were looking for a good evening to watch England vs Denmark. Each time England scored the screens were turned off and we were told in an authoritarian and patronising way that we could not cheer or sing songs and the screens were left off for two minutes thereby depriving us on any replays. You treat your customers like children and if you are a sports bar, don't you expect cheering and a little bit of good natured singing? The place is clean and has really been smartened up over the last few years but I won't be going again. A great night was spoiled by the way you 'manage' your customers.

I've been in this bar only a few times over a few years and have seen the clientele change. That's normal, but I'm not sure I'll be back as twice I was ignored by the barman who went past me to serve someone else. When I asked why, he said, I have to serve the locals. Right, well that's the best way to make sure I don't become a local. prices were fine, the place seemed fine but I didn't exactly feel like a valued customer.

Not best atmosphere and even though the drinks are cheaper I prefer a more relaxing atmosphere and quieter place so even though I've been here a few times its not been my favourite place just went as was cheaper drink, only recommend if just popping in for quick drink

Called in for a beer on the way home from work. Although the bar was quiet it was clean and the bar staff were polite and attentive. The beer was very good and I suspect because of a well kept cellar. Plenty of screens in there for sky and bt sports. Will give it another try soon.

Came here for drinks on a few occasions and enjoyed it. Nice ambience, quite lively and friendly, good choice of drinks to suit all tastes. Would come back.

Cheap and cheerful pub in Taunton with good atmosphere and staff. Typical friendly, local pub atmosphere.

2 pints and a cup of tea 5 pound 30.your find it hard to find another pub with those prices in Taunton apart from wetherspoons.lovely friendly bar staff

I used to use this pub as one of my locals but not anymore after the new landlady who to over discriminated me after I got drunk one weekend and had an accident as she decided to say how much I could drink and then I would have to leave. Ok I have Ménière’s Disease for those of you who know what this entails and have met me but this doesn’t mean to say that a new landlady who comes along has to discriminate someone who has a disability how would she like it if I did the same thing to her she’s lucky I didn’t take her to court for discrimination against the pubs act like I said the following week after the event happened as I don’t see why I should be treated any different to anybody else as we are all human beings.

Good looking pub from the outside but for me lacking in real ales. Three on show nothing out of the ordinary and I think it could be improved by looking at introducing something more unique with regards beer.

This is a typical old English pub, quite friendly, service was good, with loud music and out of tune drinkers, but OK all the same.

Tardaron casi una hora en prepararnos la comida para al final, después de reclamar nos sacaron unos platos casi incomibles los croutons de la ensalada (pan frito) daban asco, los guisantes duros y fríos, el pollo de la ensalada también daba asco. Los huevos eran cocidos y la yema tambien. Es un pub en un local nada destacable donde sólo se debe poder beber Come poca gente No me extraña

Met up with friends for an evening in this very popular pub/restaurant, as alway's it was busy but the staff were quick to welcome you take your table reservation and direct you to the bar for drinks. We were quoted that due to high demand that evening there would be an hour's wait...we did not mind and in fact we were seated within 35 minutes. Colouring charts and pencils were given to the children waiting with their parents to keep them amused, great idea. Our food as always was hot and delicious, can recommend highly the chicken with garlic mushrooms covered by cheese melt, all four of us had food choices from the back page menu and with 2 beers and 2 bottles of wine our meal was less than £15 per head, absolute bargain. Well done to Team Black Tavern, looking forward to seeing you again - from the Parrys and Guests
