Tesco cafe in Taunton Deane

Fantastic all eliments cooked superbly and piping hot. Well done chef I will be back again. Lovely fried bread too. 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁

The service was really friendly, the menu had vegan and vegetarian choices, and the food was good and reasonably priced. I'll definitely be coming back. Gary's service was excellent!

Very good service and watched a member of staff cutting up a customers food when asked to do so which I thought was very well done.

I have recently started frequenting Taunton Tescos Cafe with my Autistic son, I felt compelled to write a review because honestly the food is really good here! For a cheap and cheerful cafe the food is lovely and freshly cooked by a very young but brilliant team. They always have a smile on their faces and seem to work together very well 🙂

I asked for a cup of tea to take away and a bacon roll. Well, it took the lady 5 minutes just to process it on the till. The tea came quickly, and the bacon roll didn't. Bacon roll: the bacon was cold! The roll was stale, and there was so much spread in there that it overpowered the bacon. I did ask for no spread, so I can't eat my roll. The dogs had my breakfast. Well, I will not be returning anytime soon if that's how they treat their customers.

Dreadful waited over 45 minutes for our food while priority was given to food delivery collections, we had to extend the 90 minute parking for our coffee! I had an appointment to get to, dreadful stressful experience I wont be repeating. We had a breakfast and half of it was cold because it wasnt all cooked at the same time.

Very comfortable, friendly and as far as I am concerned value for money. Also fresh and warm ,no problems with staff always friendly.

A pretty soulless ambiance as are most cafes in supermarkets to be fair. That said the breakfast was okay and well priced (coffee/tea is extra). Not somewhere to meet up for a social get together, but if you are just looking for somewhere cheap and convenient to eat then this place will do.

Food was nice and hot and loved the seasoning on the chips. Only negative thing was none of the staff were wearing hats or hairnets or aprons and looked like one lady was doing everything herself

Came here as I was in Taunton for a long weekend. Ordered full English and tea. Ordering seemed a bit chaotic, but I got what I ordered and it was pleasant. Not the best I have had, but certainly not the worst and I would revisit if in Taunton again.

Regularly here and the customer service, pricing and portions are perfect. Shapna, Jaye & everyone in the team are always a delight! Have recommended to many people

Terrible, and for a supermarket, bloody expensive. Never been to a Tesco cafe before and never will again. Rubbery sausages, very greasy hash Brown and undercooked toast.

Had a breakfast to takeaway was great hot too

The one star is for the very young lady who served myself and my husband, as for the women who did the cooking, well we just couldn't believe our eyes, she was not wearing any overalls, she had stains all down her trousers and top, because she continually wiped her dirty hands down them, she had a face mask, but it was around her chin, she only put it on properly to go into the main store to get more grocerys, she was handling food and taking out the rubbish at the same time, we didn't see her wash her hands once, she was constantly wiping her nose with her hand, and without washing them she continued to handle the food, she was also running her hands through her very greasy hair, and still she didn't wash her hands, but continued to handle the food, we are guessing by the very low standards that Tesco don't have a manager on site, I have always shopped at Tesco and never have I seen such a dirty cafe, I'm just guessing it's just this particular store, we will never return, and I'm in two minds to have a word with the local health department, absolutely awful place

Rubbish staff in the cafe but tasty breakfast

What on earth has happened to this once lovely cafe?? I used to use this cafe 3/4 times a week & always had a lovely visit, with lively, fun management & staff. I visited today after 3 years away & I was shocked to discover how awful it now is. There was 1 lady on her own trying to serve all of the customers as well as clearing tables. Then a couple of females who I presume were management started speaking to her in a not very pleasant manner. The poor lady looked upset but was very professional & carried on working. It was very shocking to me to see this kind of behaviour & I will be contacting head office. I will also not be returning again. This cafe has been ruined.

Awful food hygiene standards. So when you order you get given a number to sit on the table to show what order yours is however this didn’t seem to make any difference as the guy bringing round the food as he put two breakfasts on a table and walked away the customers then went to till to say it wasn’t there food so the guy came back took it off the table and went to give it us, to which i said yes we have ordered breakfasts but you have just taken them from the table down there he replied oh for God’s sake and stomped off, we then waited again for our breakfast this time the order was incorrect my husband order a bigger breakfast and fried bread but got a small breakfast with toast and my egg was meant to be well done but was very runny we mentioned this and received more attitude. After being treated like this and waiting for over 40 minutes we asked for our money back and again received more attitude and rudeness needless to say we will never be returning to this cafe.

Have tried a few tesco cafes and this is one of the best. Really nice food, more importantly really good service! Genuinely care, genuinely friendly - didnt seem like it was just because they are paid to be.

Lovely friendly service from a gentleman called Gary. He even checked to see if we were enjoying our breakfast which was very tasty. He had great customer service and was very smiley

There were no paninis available so three or more items were unavailable on the menu. Ordered the food & went to collect cutlery etc. Took 15 dirty forks and several knives back to the cashier saying that there was clearly a problem with the dishwasher. Whole atmosphere of the cafe was rather scruffy, the tray rack was completely full of used plates cups etc, not cleared. Needs a shake-up.

When I pointed out that I'd not been acknowledged, I was grunted toward a sign, which I'm guessing says 'don't come here because we can't handle queues of one or more'. Went to customer services who asked If i'd like to complain to the restaurant manager who was in. Restaurant manager - if you're there I'd recommend you're present with your killer team as it needs managing.

It's October and tescos have the Christmas sandwich for sale. It's the first store one of the season. At £2.50 price is reasonable. Having not tried any other store sandwiches is a tad hard to rate it. However I rate it as average and will be highly disappointed if another supermarket does not beat this very average product. Sadly don't need another to check how much I liked it. Ps the cafe does not sale black pudding, give it a miss and try the one in WSM amazing standard reached for a great breakfast with black pudding

untidy cafe no one clearing tables mid afternoon and no one available to serve. waited ages . staff member that appeared didnt seem bothered and didnt speak. a man handling food with no hat or gloves on . very poor never go again

Called into Tesco cafe 2 weeks ago after staying at a local hotel in Taunton had a very substantial big breakfast at a reasonable price, cook was excellent, not under cooked or overcooked and HOT,presentation of the food was very professional ,the cook was very pleasant (Jane) I think . don't no where these NEGETIVE reviews come from . cafe was clean,toilets were clean, a pleasant atmosphere 10/10 in my opinion

Dirty tables , trays, nothing good to say about it really, No coffee machine working so no hot drinks. Got bottled water, wasn’t even offered a glass! Glad we were only passing by!

Went there for lunch after doing my shop. It was about 1 o'clock and only one girl serving I asked for the scampi,with this she scampered away into a side room. When she returned I was shown to the warming counter and told that this was all they had left. It was just the breakfast leftovers and a few jacket potatoes, I was hungry so I asked her if I could have a couple of sausages,some bacon and a jacket potato. She then scampered off again this time the Chef?/manager appeared. He said that he could fulfil my order but every meat item would be £1 each. When I queried this he told me it was company policy, and repeated it several times loudly, so that i got the message. I told him that he could keep his leftovers and left. A simple snack lunch with a cup of coffee would have cost over £9 by my reckoning.The food was obviously cooked for breakfast some three or four hours previous and wasn't even displayed in separate serving dishes. So go to Morrisons,Sainsburys anywhere but here how Tesco can justify charging such exorbitant prices for left overs, I don't know but there when you're making millions, every little helps.

Went for breakfast with my partner here as we hadn't been before and thought we would see what it was like. Probably the worst customer service I have received, the guy serving huffed multiple times throughout us making out order, did not acknowledge with a hello and actually looked like everything was just to much trouble. When the breakfast arrived it was all thick with grease and pretty much dumped on the table in front of us. I will not be going back again and has also made me question my grocery shopping to.

Terrible, ordered advocardo on toast to be told they didn't have any!! Then she said well we have but they're still frozen. The server went to check and said it should be ok in a minute. It took 15mins to arrive ,it was cold,watery and tasteless,l left it. My husband ordered poached eggs on toast,we were both amused to see the lady pop the eggs out of two plastic pots. Dreadful don't waste your time or money,it's a shame it could be a nice little cafe. Tesco get some staff who know what they're doing and can cook,and staff who actually care.

Out on a trip to Taunton hospital. Feeling peckish, I went to the local Tesco. Very pleased with the outcome. Staff friendly and the meal of ham, egg and chips was freshly cooked. I could see that other diners enjoyed their lunches as I did.

I didn't expect much, and was still disappointed. The server didn't talk directly to me at any point and only acknowledged my order to moan about having to cook it from scratch. It turned up and had the asthetic appeal of a car crash. It was dry and obviously not done from scratch at all. On the up side my cup of tea was drinkable. From where I'm sitting, I can see months of accumulate dirt on the windows and this gives me little confidence in the hygiene of the kitchen. The flaws here are so apparent I'm amazed the manager here has not been taken to task for it. I would have given a single star. But there were plenty of seats and the music was unobtrusive.

Just sat having coffee and bacon sandwich and watching a member of staff I believe is Jane and nothing seems to faze her.

Had an all day breakfast which was poor and did not taste very nice. The only thing I enjoyed as the coffee. Tables left dirt when staff clear dishes away that were left and did not wipe the table tops. The cafe is located outside the shopping cart area with floor to ceiling windows dividing. If you sit by these windows you an see they have not been cleaned in years and the whole area requires power washing. But have to say the staff were pleasant when serving.

Very poor. Everything is already cooked yet it still took over 30 minutes to get the food.

I took my daughter and her friend here for an after college bite to eat.The cafe was in chaos and although our order was taken swiftly we waited three quarters of an hour for two toasted sandwiches and an all day breakfast.When the food arrived, brought to us by friendly apologetic staff, the fried eggs had obviously been microwaved and looked like greenish rubber balls, the sandwiches were average....they did replace the eggs immediately but i felt that the ship was sinking fast.No excuse for serving rubbish food when you are next to a supermarket!

Food was okay just not a lot of it when talking about the full English compared to the likes of Morrisons. Always seem very short staffed in the cafe , only 2 people on a Saturday around 10AM with a q building.

Since this place has changed manager!! He is hardly been there And there has been times when he has just got 1 person on and there has not been hot food ( breakfast ) available and this has happened on numerous occasions if this is the way he wants to run this cafe the owners Business will go down hill My advice is get a more competent manager that’s better then that useless waste of space Hope all you fellow trip advisors has a good vacation and happy eating there ever you go in the world

Couldn’t get parked in the hospital and had a wait before I picked up my ride. Easy to get to and parking was good. I ordered ham, eggs and chips which came promptly and hot. I enjoyed my lunch. The staff were friendly and my table was clean. What more can you ask?

Toasted sandwich ok, coffee ok, but watching the young girl clearing the tables, very good but after clearing tables, she proceeded behind the counter and served fresh food, without washing her hands, or putting gloves on to serve the food, or glives on for clearing up.

Yo examinamos la junta menú en la entrada del establecimiento y decidí por el 'clásico desayuno cocinado 'no me ocurre que no era una descripción de la distribución de lo que estaban haciendo, pero es un desayuno caliente después de todo. Por el mostrador arrastran un poco para ser recibidos por 'Julia' (creo), ella era una persona amable y sonriente, profesional, que tomó nota de mi pedido, y dijo que, si usted desea ordenar su bebida traeré tu comida a su mesa. Así maniobra un poco más abajo de la barra, había 2 chicos trabajando en la máquina de bebidas, que se quedó por un par de minutos, y en ese momento no uno de ellos me reconoció, me sentí un poco incómodo, todo lo que yo necesitaba era un vistazo rápido y con una sonrisa, quizás un rápido 'estar con usted en un momento, señor", pero no, nada. Uno de ellos finalmente fui a la caja, pedí mi bebida y pagado por la comida. Encontrar una mesa y muy poco después de mi desayuno llegó, estaba bien, me refiero simplemente bien. Popped in for a quick breakfast. Very cheap 8 different items and coffee for £3.99. It's always more than l can eat ,good value for money . Can get busy on a Saturday morning when the park runners have finished as a lot decend on...

You would be hard pressed to find a lower quality sausage than on the Tesco full english plate. Gristle and cereal are the primary ingredients and sum up every item upon the breakfast plate. Cheap baked beans, tastless bacon, bland hash browns and a fried slice that could shatter a car windscreen.The sauces are the usual packets of cheap slops and provide a particularly woeful accompaniment to an otherwise depressing start to the day.It is worrying that with a superstore within spitting distance, the cafe must rely on shoddy foodstuffs from goodness knows where. Very very disappointed.

Firstly the coffee machine had broken so only Americano coffee, which he filled to the top so as soon as I touched it spilt everywhere! One thing I noticed was the card machine was fifthly!! However my food came and it was very nice and the staff are pleasant and polite. Just a few things letting them down

This is just a normal supermarket cafe although the service is quicker than Sainsburys. Small cafe overlooking the car park.

We went previously and it wasn't Costa then. Then I would have given 5 *, not anymore. We had two pre-packed sandwiches, they were good but had a tea and a coffee at costa price and our bill was £9! Food looked good but expensive. We used to eat there. won't be again.

It was a typical supermarket Restaraunt. It was not very big, but quite crowded. The food was quite reasonable though and the rice was very reasonable. Would go,there again.

Popped in for, a quick lunch while out shopping , not bad but def not cheap if you have a family in tow. £5 for hot dog and a few fries is not cheap-wont bother again!

Had a lasagne with garlic bread and a latte. Didn't get much change out of £11. Lasagne was very poor watery and tasteless. Coffee was ok but that's to be expected seen as it's a costa coffee machine.

£10.60 for two toasted sandwiches that were barely toasted had no filling and looked pretty sad on the plate. Two costa coffees one was all spilled into saucer tasted foul. We didn't eat it got a refund but everyone in cafe that day were unhappy with food and service. I complained to store manger and another couple came over to complain about cafe. Even the manager said he thought food was pretty foul and they've had a lot of complaints. We only popped in as my relative was seriously ill in musgrove hospital and we needed to get shopping for him. My advice don't bother with cafe just get meal deal from supermarket.

Have called in twice now and both times have found the slow moving queue to be a problem....even the food looks tired! You have to be really stuck to call in here, although toilets are clean and convenient. better to buy a sandwich and a drink and eat it in the car park frankly.

We went for breakfast and I found that there was not fruit or yoghourt for my non fat diet. However the rest of the family tucked into a fry up.

It is what it is, a cheap and chearful supermarket restraunt, am suprised people have bothered to review it, but seeing as they were so petty to do so, I wanted to defend somewhere that's decidedly average, and is going to be. What do you expect?

I have to admit, some of the food that was sat on the hot plate, looked like it had been there fore a couple of weeks. The lamb cobbler that i had was absolutely lovely and tasty. It was unfotunate that the vegetables didnt have much taste, i think it was canned carrots and frozen peas. Overall pretty average.

terrible dry tasteless bacon, dried up sausage, more liquid on beans than beans. fried bread dipped in deep fat fryer to cook and served dripping in oil.The only good thing was a freshly fried egg.complained to staff but no one there would take responsibilty. If this was the condition of the food at 8:30 am I hate to think what it would be like later in the morning after it had been under the heat lights! Very bad do not bother
